Kalahari was tons of fun! We all enjoyed the trip and the watermark. I was a little worried that my youngest son would not be able to do much since he is not a strong swimmer. However, they had areas for kids of all ages to do things. Parents were also able to play in the kid areas and have fun with the kids. The resort is still under construction with more watermark areas coming. We can't wait to see what is to come! The staff is very friendly And helpful throughout the entire resort. The only negative side is it is an expensive weekend getaway. However, it seems to be comparable to the other resorts with similar attractions in the area. The kids are already asking when we can go back again.

This has been my third visit in two years. I enjoy myself eveytime. This time I brought my nephew with us, he is 17 and he had an amazing experience. I cant wait till next year's trip!! Thank you Kalahari Resorts for such and wonderful time.

Snuggelupagus

Great place! Amazing warm water, huge indoor park, swim up bar was great but needed another bartender, and the medium sized lockers were very hard to find. We loved the basketball hoops pool, and the lazy river and wave pool. The hot tub was off limits for some reason. The food was better than we thought it would be and we enjoyed our lunch at the resort. The gift shops were nice as well. All of the decor and structural art was amazing. We enjoyed our day here. We came on a Monday and paid 158 for the both of us for an all day Waterpark pass

I had an amazing time, food was too good.i would go back tomorrow if i could.experience overall was just excellent.

Happy New Year 2019.

Awesome get away especially in winter with kids... Fun for all ages including adults .The heated outdoor pool(s) are the best!!!! Rooms are top notch, modern and super clean... Def will be going back

Christin Ball

The place is infested with bed bugs!

Unfairness on the part of workers Gorilla Grove. Our mood was spoiled. I will not recommend Gorilla Grove Kalahari Pocono to my friends because they discriminate against men and women. Women can break their rules for pound and men do not. My husband was not missed because of extra 3 pound. Although the woman before us missed with an extra 5 pound. This is not fair. I talked to the manager. But the manager does not react. I am outraged by this lack of covetousness. So I put only one star. I spoiled the rest and the money spent. For the hotel and for the Aquapark, I put 5 stars

Lophi

Lots of rides, food, games and more! Hotel service was decent, and we luckily didn’t have any problems in the hotel. Recommend for a nice family getaway!

Frankie Deas

I loved it. Great for family get away. I want to go back.

Hidden Charges after arrival Time. Adding the RESORT FEE, STATE TAX, OCCUPANCY TAX, totaled hidden additional charges 91.19 PER ROOM. Even if the room is ready, they make you wait. For the NEW YEAR, NO BALL DROP!!! JUST A DJ. The room were dirty and needs renovations. The dinner buffet and the breakfast were TERRIBLE FOOD. The boiled eggs were hard and old. The scrambled eggs were dried. The pizza is not fresh. The price is not worth having the buffets. The water park is GREAT, however, the hot tub smelled like pee and it was very FOAMY. The showers were dirty and over crowded. They have one attendant for two rides. The alcoholic drinks are triple the price. The water was cold in some rides. Drive five minutes away from the Kalahari Resort and the food is much less, fresher, and more delicious. I recommend the water park for one day

Just don’t go over the weekend if you want to avoid crowds. Anxiety inducing for me at least. But it’s well maintained and plenty of staff, food and fun.

Such a great place. Our room was very nice. My children really had a lot a fun we can't wait to go back

fun place, big enough water park. but the restaurants are not good. you would think that a place this size and money behind it would be able to pull off a good Italian restaurant and a steak house that can rival others. but it dropped the ball. i know its PA but they arent to far from nyc or nj. still worth the trip.

Toni Dawson

Great experience. Clean park. Kids had a great time!

Nik Kumar

Extremely OVERPRICED! $800 for a suite, save your money for a short trip to Mexico. One ice cream cone is $7. At the grill in the water park, I asked for a glass of water and a fat white guy in glasses in a chef's outfit tried to charge me 15 cents just for the plastic cup! Also, in my opinion it is understaffed as the linea for everything are unnecessarily long.

sam bp

Great place I was there July 12 a lot of fun for adults and for kids amazing place

Rebecca Batton

Always love it here

Justin Burger

Best waterpark ever, so much to do and has pretty good food

Kalahari is always fun, very expensive but has indoor and outdoor pools and slides.

I just got back from Kalahari in the Poconos , it was my second trip there and we went for a day and a half. I had really high expectations, the first time I went I had a great time with my family. We had a beautiful view off of a balcony, and this time I was really looking forward to sitting, enjoying fresh air and doodling. My family are all adults now, but we came just to get away and have fun. When we got there from start to finish I was disappointed. When we tried to find a parking spot, the rude man riding the little train shouted at us to move and was rude to everyone around him. Warm welcome. When we checked in we had to wait and hour and so did all the other families, so we all crammed in the lobby. It became so loud and people started piling in and stand and sit in the way. When we finally got our room, I was disappointed to see that there was no balcony at all, and the view was of a giant sewage puddle and a parking lot. We payed the same price as last time too. The bathrooms were a lot smaller this time. I personally had to sleep in the couch bed, so when I needed a blanket, my mother tried to use the phone to call room services, which often time wouldn’t pick up at all. She requested two blankets, and about 2 hours later the room service woman drops by to give me only one very thin blanket. I slept cold that night. At this point I was really looking forward to go home, but it didn’t really stop there. I went to the water park and the water was so salty, and when I tried to escape the children in the hot tub, which burned my eyes even being over the surface. Someone had brought their kids swimming and kicking. Some of the people there were really trying to concentrate on relaxing and couldn’t. That’s a huge problem this place had. Granted, this is a family resort, but there were loud kids and a lot of the time, they don’t look where they’re going and sometimes are even let lose to do whatever. Way more kids than the first time. If you’re looking for a nice quiet place to relax, this is NOT it. I hit up the arcade to have fun, and another issue I had was that the employees seemed absolutely miserable to be there. When I tried to get a ticket card, the people behind the counter couldn’t even muster a hello or a smile. Hitting up the little market off the lobby had the same issue, the gentleman that helped me mumbled so low when I spoke to him. I always try to be kind to people who work at registers because I work retail. Seriously, I couldn’t get a word out of this guy. On the day of leaving I went to the little cafe across from the sweets shop, and the women were the same too, they looked miserable and couldn’t really even speak to me. I figured they don’t get paid enough to see and help thousands of faces a day. I understand it’s probably tiresome. Overall, this trip was not great. Everything here is so expensive for what it actually is. My family and I agreed to not come back. It’s not what it used to be. Two stars. My family an I are so glad to be home. :)

Jay Nipe

Been trying to get someone on the phone now for over 2 hours.

The rides are really nice for family and friends. You have to plan each meal because everything closes early and it’s pricey. I truly enjoyed the spa. It was very relaxing and soothing. I disliked how my bathroom was not clean. There was hair everywhere in the bathtub and leftover melted ice cream in the mini fridge. I wouldn’t stay overnight again but I would return just for the rides and spa.

ZeroGEmeraldWolf !

Great place to go to with your family good rooms and food and water park and arcade just a great place in general. And they have a outdoor hot tub! I suggest you go at winter or when it's cold. That have some really big slides as well.

Islom Sabirov

Best customer service,hotel and food

Evgeniya Ten

awesome place for both kids and adults. We have been at Kalahari 3 times in 3 years. The experience is truly incomparable to anything else. The water park is huge I believe the biggest indoor water park in USA. The rooms are always clean and spacious. They are pricey though. One night stay with 2 days of water park passes for 6 adults and 1 child was $1000. waterpark passes are included with the stay even the day you check out you still get to enter the water park for as long as you want. One suggestion/minor disadvantage : they could have more food options.

Isaac Toyota

These prices are insane. $700 per night ???? I can got to Europe for much less. Jesus Christ. Definitely not worth all that money. I don’t care how clean it is. Overpriced

Raja Sekar

Very nice indoor water park.

Susanne Sult

the bath tub was dirty and did not drain, I called house keeping and someone came and took the massive clog out of the drain and put it in the toilet and didn't flush it. there were long black hairs in the bed and blankets and towels and empty coffee packets by the coffee pot and no coffee

Teneisha King

Overall the experience was Great. Everything was designed smart and beautiful. One thing I don't like and I would give a negative review is that. At the little baby area, pay a extra attention when your baby sliding down the elephant slide. Because your baby may hurt his/her knees. The floor is concrete, and the water is shallow. I wonder if the park management can fix this problem if they see more babies hurt their legs.

This was my first time at Kalahari after going to Camelback for the last 3 years with my son and nephew, now age 10. Kalahari was a little more expensive and didn’t include the ski/tubing pass. I used a Groupon for this stay which included arcade credit so it was worth it. Unfortunately I had to give 3 stars, not because of the hotel or water park, but because of the disappointment in services received at mostly every restaurant and or bar we attended. We went on a Monday, no special holiday, not super crowded. The toasted coconut, the bar in the waterpark, was at least 10 mins before our presence was even acknowledged with the bartender standing right in front of us. We ate dinner at B Lux, the burger place about an hour before closing, so it was fairly empty. We waited forever to get our drinks to realize they were forgotten about, the appetizers came with our main course and the chicken in my meal was burnt to a crisp. The menu is pricy for a burger place and everything including service should be great! For breakfast, we ate at the buffet. The selection was limited and the food was low quality and far from fresh. If I hadn’t had to eat dinner and breakfast and if I brought my own beverages, I would have given a 4, however for what they charge compared to what is provided , I was very disappointed!

There the best there water park is the best

Tyron White

My kids love this place, great place for winter time!

Andrew Grosso

This place is awesome I loved every single slide. We stayed overnight our room was very nice. The slide you have to go on is The smoke that thunders.

Pretty Av

This is one of the best water parks I been to! I love 5 mins away and I wish I can go every day! It fun if it’s just an adult get away or for the family. It is so big and decorated amazingly. Kalahari has been expanding I even worked there for a few months and loved it. I go as often as I can. I plan to go back soon. Just for even the game room or to even eat. The Christmas decorations is one to see!!

Walt Pollin

Great family water park. We had 4 generations enjoying the lazy river immensely. Near the outlets and many little local boutique establishments and restaurants within a 10-20 minute drive. The beautiful Pocono Mountains are all around you, there's nothing better. Don't be surprised to find hidden fees on your bill when it's time to leave. I was able to have some removed but not all.

Ken Glass

Little pricey went in the middle of ice snow storm parking lot people they higher to clean lots should do a much better job feel safe lifeguards are on point never stop moving watching people can go down hallways and here employees talking fighting with each other

Shimul Hawladar

Highly commended! Love this place specially All of the water ride! Inside you will feel summer. I had no idea about any kind of indoor waterpark before. After this place I’m Interested to visit all the indoor waterpark!

Moshe Berkowitz

It's a really nice water park with a lot of fun water slides for all ages and the life guards are ready friendly.

Susan Frazier

Very expensive 2 days. Not many water rides and pool isn’t big enough for the amount of people. Food expensive and forget about the drinks.

Big L

Our grandkids really love this place. The service here is very good and the food is good. The very big arcade is very clean and a lot of fun, but a bit pricey, but still great fun for kids and adults. We been here twice in the pass 2 summers.

Chavone Taylor

The water temp was great. The drinks were amazing. The wave pool was lots of fun. The rides were a thrill. Great time with the family and friends

Christina Diaz

Great family resort with several resaurants

Big L

Our grandkids really love this place. The service here is very good and the food is good. The very big arcade is very clean and a lot of fun, but a bit pricey, but still great fun for kids and adults. We been here twice in the pass 2 summers.

Vin Diesel

Good experience had a great time

William Kan

Kids love this place. Small indoor water park open year round. But very pricey.

Gaétan Le Lardic

Tried to come on a Sunday, obviously it was not a good idea since the water park was overcrowded. Tried a second time on Monday, did not work either. Will not try a third time. Be careful if you want to enjoy the water park, it seems like it is victim of its popularity.

Steve Good

Do not book with these morons. I spent four hours and over 20 phone calls trying to book a vacation and after all the problems n 2 managers offered me discounted vacations. However when you call to book or you call to confirm those vacations even though they have a confirmation number or non-existent and all the promises and the vouchers that I were told are non-existent and all they want you to do is talk to supervisor after supervisor after supervisor and spend hours on hold being passed around. I don't understand how the reservation process could be like this again 4 hours and countless promises even with confirmation numbers and nothing came about it

Radhika Thalanki

Want some fun in the winter ? Go here ! We went in January and it was a good way to spend some time as if you were in the tropics although it was snowing outside ! The rides are good with less wait time compared to the usual parks, the outside thermal pool is really nice in winter and makes it worth your while !

Gabriela Espinosa

I like the waterpark, the staff was really nice and helpful all the time

Melissa Tomaszewski

Great place and have to say very clean. Always see employees vacuuming and cleaning all the machines in the arcade. We will be back!

Slare S

It was so cool, there was a huge water park and arcade the food was really good and the rooms were nice.

Julia Baumbach

Kalahari was a blast!!! There is so many things to do besides the water park. Great for all ages.

Val P.

My husband and I took the kids to Kalahari for the first time this past January. We normally stay at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge but we wanted to try some place different this year. We had the best time at Kalahari. The resort is very nice and the water park had more stuff to do than Six Flags Great Escape. The arcade is big, I almost felt like I was at Dave & Busters lol. My husband and I really enjoyed the swim up bar. That was pretty cool. The only thing I had an issue with was the workers at the Cafe Mirage weren't really friendly and super slow. You can tell they didn't want to be there. Overall, we had a blast so I will definitely be coming back. Great place. :)

me me

The only thing stopping me from giving five stars is the overpriced food

Jose JR

I just spent last weekend with my family at Kalahari and had an amazing time in the water park.

Amanda Locke

I was a great experience. My daughters loved it. My husband and i also enjoyed it. The only bad thing is that the food is overpriced

rick palmer

This stay I give a 3. This was our third time there(03-9-18 to 03-11-18). This time it wasn't as much fun. Be prepared to wait and wait in line. Too bad the park isn't reserved for people staying in the hotels. With the general public and the 800 plus rooms makes for a boring day standing in lines. The food lines were just as bad and the food was disappointing except for Sortino's and our waitress Gabby. However, a buddy and me sat at the bar till our table was ready and our glasses were half full(or half empty how ever you look at life). I had to actually ask the bartender for the other half of our drinks..lol. The Arcade had multiple server crashes which made the games unplayable and I just added $60 to our cards. Thankfully the lady at the X-D ride let us ride 2 times for free. The park is nice overall but you can see the difference in the level of service by adding the new part of the park. I'd stay again but I was happy to be leaving...

Carolyn Harvey

Me and my family went last year. I really enjoyed myself service was fine I will coming back soon.

Mark Lamb

Great place to visit

Eliav Bock

The water park is awesome. Period. The service at the hotel is severely lacking. We arrived at 11:00am and saw over 100 people in line to check in. We were told we could get our bracelet and go to the water park and then come at 4:00 to get our room. At 4:30, I left the water park and came back to the check in desk and waited (again). I was told that check in starts at 4:00, but that a room might not be ready for a while. I said, OK, then I want a late check out since I can not get into my room ontime." I was told that would cost money, and there was nothing they could do for me, or even tell me about when the room would be ready. They said there is no guarantee of a room at 4:00, just that that is the time people BEGIN to get rooms. At 5:30 I returned (now with two cranky and exhausted kids) and told that the room was not ready and there was no way to know when it would be. The manager explained that it was not his fault and they had 800 rooms to switch over. (I said, well I am glad business is good, but that is not my issue). There were many people like me with tired kids standing around, all aghast that they run a hotel like this! I eventually threw a major fit, and spoke to the manager who did get me a room. Many others, who were less vocal waited longer. None of us received even a token apology (a free meal voucher would have been appropriate) In short, they have over 1000 rooms, but clearly are not ready to serve that number of guests. The management of the Kalahari should learn about customer service in the hotel portion of their resort.

Mercii Castro

My brother gave me a gift of spending Christmas day there and I was so disappointed, First check in was horrible and the line was extremely long then after checking in we went to B-burger to eat and I ordered a hamburger deluxe and to my surprise they burned my burger and onion rings, my brother ordered the hot dog special and it was so disgusting he could not eat it at all, but the best part was the next day we went to the water park and spend the entire day there, the water park is amazing and great and after enjoying a great day we went to our room and the room was not cleaned no clean towels and the beds were not made, I saw a young lady cleaning another room and asked her and to my surprise she checked and said it showed like it was done???? We showed her the room and called the front desk ans complained and after a couple of hours then the room was cleaned. The amazing part is that we was informed if we wanted clean sheets daily we have to pay extra money!!!!!!!!!! So to my disappointment I left Kalahari with the feeling that you can only enjoy a day pass cause the water park is amazing, but to stay I don't recommend it the room service is terrible and the food there is expensive and not good. So if any goes I don't recommend staying in there hotel.... Sincerely, Mercii

Dee Mee

Perfect experience for my son's 2nd birthday. I was able to find a beautiful airbnb less then 10 minutes away. I am planning another visit soon

Abedi Destine

These reports of Bed Bugs are very scary, I wanted to take the family to Kalahari next month (7/9/18) but the reviews about those bugs are frightening. I think we might go to Camelback water park, I havent seen any complaints in the reviews.

Brent Bumford

Had an awesome time here. The food is not that expensive considering they have a captive audience. Nice rooms, the water park is great, clean and lots of slides. Games, sweet shop, anything you could want on site.

kumar sukhnandan

Great place. Everything went smoothly. Highly recommend

Dean Moakler

Nice water park, don’t eat there food is way over priced and not fresh at the buffet . Went for breakfast and the bread and pizza were hard and old. For an adult and 2 kids it’s was over 50 dollars.

Marc L

I went to all the water parks camel back and great wolf. This was my least favorite of them. I was expecting at least ok food and service. The room was clean and okay and waterpark was ok but this doesn’t look any bigger than great wolf or camelbacks water parks. I kept hoping to get something extra for the significantly higher price than the competition and I was continually unimpressed. I see no difference this and a cheap $40 season pass at Saraha Sams. For 2 kids and 2 adults we ate at a gourmet buffet spent $92 for dried out over cooked steak and rock hard stuffed clams. The next morning there was a long line that went down the hall, the other restaurant was entirely empty since they held the place for a large party well beyond the typical 40 min it takes to eat breakfast. The water park was understaffed So know one was there to inspect our bags or answer questions if you need help with their malfunctioning lockers. If you need to buy some food think of a ridiculous waterpark monopoly price and add $5 to it. The elements of a great water park are here but it’s run to maximize their profits not your experience. Go for a better deal and experience elsewhere.

dave kalan

Beautiful resort, but the whole experience of checking in was a nightmare. The customer service representative who was checking us in was so rude, arrogant, and disrespectful. Check in time between 4 pm and 5:30 pm which is very late. Check out time 11 am too early. That's a big ripoff. Room smelled like a dead fish, very unpleasant smell.

YANERYS NUNEZ

This place is great for any one at any age. My daughters are toddlers and there is an area designated for them to play in the water and go down the slides and be a little independent -of course I monitored them but I didn't have that worrysome feeling of oh my goodness my kids will drown. All children under 48" are required to wear a life vest which they provide or you can bring your own. The hotel rooms are kept very clean, there are daily activities for the kids which are at a nominal fee (slime making, ceramic painting, tye dye shirts, etc) this place is great, only complaint is the restaurants are rather expensive but there are plenty of eateries nearby.

Cruz Vivian

Nice atmosphere.. Warm water at the pool. Fun activities for everyone. Restaurant r okay. Enjoy water activities in the winter.

Soliel De Bella

Best place ever!. I feel bad because I didn't review it last year and we are going again this year. We tried Great Wolf in Gurnee and it was terrible. Kalahari we go to in the winter for my sons B-day. It's so large we didn't even see it all in the two days we were there and we booked for 3 nights coming up this winter. It's July now. They deserve all stars for having an amazing water park, food that isn't too over priced. Tons to do and the most kick butt Jacuzzi's ever! indoor/outdoor with lights and music AND the kids can go in...THANK YOU! They love it too when they get cold. We upgraded to a whirlpool suite it also has a fireplace. Who could ask for more? I am so excited to be going back. We will also book for the following summer to see what is outside. Very much worth our 3 hour drive. I cannot even think of one negative and I am pretty picky.

Karyn Edwards

Great place. Great food and the staff was amazing

erin

Went Christmas day our room was ready and upgraded on time...the man helping us at check in was very nice as well as every single cleaning person we passed. All nice! However we didnt get much riding because the tube situation. No one gives up any tubes to the next rider and they are not stored anywhere to grab one! This probably wasted much of our time. Then the arcade was huge! But trading in tickets for prizes ridiculous. Everything is very confusing at first. And yes EXPENSIVE!!! Lockers are expensive. And yes the food in the park is scarce u have to go in ur suit thru the arcade to get food then ur allowed to truck it back thru the park. Could have been because it was after 6pm, not sure. The ice cream place near the entrance was good but disorganized. Also not enough staff...one person at times handling 2 of the biggest rides. The bars were always running though, glad that's where all the staff must have been. AND the womens changing room by the arcade was disgusting!!! I had to change in a stall with a dirty open diaper, a capri sun, and 400 towels. The swimsuit dryer was very useful tho! The mens didnt have any stalls which is absurd, kids and young teens prefer not to change in front of men at that age. This was not acceptable to have only 2 benches in a room for changing out of swimsuits etc. Their are tons of rides HOWEVER none long enough or thrilling enough for our family of 5. Great wolf and aquatopia have by far less rides but the ones they have are far better. We may try this a second time but not our favorite out of our 3 local water parks in fact I think its overrated.

Amy Ruffner

Our family of 5 and my parents really enjoyed this water park! We thought it was clean and there were so many fun rides and slides for everyone! A highlight for us were the 2 baby sections with swings and slides. Our 10 month old absolutely loved it! The indoor/outdoor hot tubs were fun too, especially to sit outside while the snow was falling! We can't wait to go back again someday!

Chavone Taylor

The water temp was great. The drinks were amazing. The wave pool was lots of fun. The rides were a thrill. Great time with the family and friends

Sunita Nair

Really fun waterpark. Mind you, it gets CROWDED. To the point that kids will jump and push you around in the lazy river. I was pregnant when I went so had to be very careful, but had a good time as the water was warm and I loved just floating in the lazy river. We stayed there and the food was surprisingly good, we ordered room service and the pizza was so fresh! Expensive food, but that’s expected.

Wesley W

Paid for the couple romantic re-treat, paying well over $ 400.00 for one night. On the day after our wedding, we only got the room. No champagne and strawberries. No breakfast ( until we argued with the manager) who could not prove to use that we didn’t purchase the couples package. She chalked it up to a computer error and that she could not do anything more. Customer service does not existence. I will never go back and will tell everyone I know how Kalahari resorts screwed up my Honeymoon!!!! But gladly took my money and refused to render services paid.

Awesome Anthony Channel

Expensive food but soo good, you should check out the water park too

Rudy R

It’s the best indoor waterpark out all the ones you can think of. The food during our stay was great. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was because a waitress was rude and to many people smoke in front of the main entrance.

youssef bennis

The water park is very fun for kids and adults, the only thing I didnt like is the virtual experience is ver bad especially the manager she not professional at all

Ruth Gomez

5-24-18. My family an I experience was horrible. The staff are not well trained in costumer services. The first night I got bitten by BED BUGS, I went to the lobby and spoke to a supervisor and showed her the two bits I had on my right arm. Her response was “is summer and bugs comes out, we will move you to another room”. After almost two hours waiting for someone from management to get back to us, I decided to go back to the lobby wish I had to explain myself all over again about what happened to supervisor named Samantha and all she said was “ there is nothing I can do, you need to wait for management which they come in around 9:30am”. Around 10:30 am I got a call from Samantha saying the the room inspection was negative for bedbugs and hanged up the phone. I will not recommend this place to anybod

Anita Griffith

Everything is great about this place. The founder was really impressed with african. Thanks for bring Africa to us. I would be there this summer please God for my 5 time

Evan Sze

Most fun of a water park I’ve ever had!

Josie Lachut

Amazing mind boggling slides and big clean fantastic resort!!! Every worker and restaurant brightens your day and be sure to go on barreling baboon for a good time. Amazing for all ages

S A

Bigger than Great Wolf Lodge but way less organized. Staff is young and less attentive to guest needs. Prices and food suck.

Diana F

it was sooo cool there is so much water slide you can choise form and pools so COOL!!!!!i recamed you go to kalahair water park !!!!!!

Spencer Kason

4th of July weekend spent their and I had the most amazing, memorable time imagined. The service was excellent. The room wait was reasonable considering I and my family arrived early. My only grip is that my rooms sink was outside the actual bathroom. Otherwise it would be 5star.

Sharese Welch

Great place for a mini staycation. The decor is amazing and makes you feel as if you’re a different country. This is a place for all ages to enjoy!

Judy Goodman

This is our second trip to the Kalahari in the Poconos. I do not think we will be back. They do not have enough staff for the size of the resort. It is disgusting and dirty by the end of the day. The do not have enough places to eat so the lines for food are horrible. The outdoor waterpark is way to crowded everyday and the staff is rude and cranky because they spend all day waiting on angry patrons who are tired of standing in lines for food and drinks. The pools have garbage in them and the place is not cleaned up during the afternoons and evenings. They simply do not have enough people or room for the amount of guests they house.

The Planebagel

awesome indoor waterpark you could go anytime of the year great selection of rides, if you want cheaper food I recommend the buffet in the resort lobby mainly breakfast items though

Andrew Weber

Great rides and the kids had a blast. The host at the buffet was really nice. I forgot her name but the staff were very helpful! Food in the place isn’t the best. They should have more eating options available.

Rudy R

It’s the best indoor waterpark out all the ones you can think of. The food during our stay was great. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 was because a waitress was rude and to many people smoke in front of the main entrance.

Karen Taube

At Kalahari the indoor waterpark was lots of fun! Not to crowded and less wait time for the slides this time of year. We were here in July was horribly packed couldn’t even move. However we do NOT recommend eating at BLux Burgers we got real sick and one of us was vomiting afterwards. Not an enjoyable way to spend the evening. The food was the reason for 3 stars overpriced and got sick out of it. When we return next year we plan to eat outside of Kalahari like we did the first time we were here.

Eli Michalowitz

Great place for the family to enjoy a few days

Iris Hernandez

It is a very nice place but I personally think the rules need to be more stricture with people entering the pool there are females entering with their leggins that you wear for working out into the pool wearing sandals that you wear on the street to walk into the pool with I've even seen some females with jeans going into the pool I feel if we have to come properly dressed in our bathing suits including water shoes than it should go all across-the-board whether you stay at the hotel or not it should also go for men as well and children

R G

The convention facilities were superb. It was a great idea to combine a water park and convention center, so one can bring the entire family to the convention rather than leave them home. While I appreciated that parking was free, I was surprised by the high prices... cookies @ $4. each? Why must the charge for lockers at the water park be $10. per day despite the high prices to get there? Was it necessary to force the family to enter the water park through an arcade with overpriced games tempting the children; couldn't that have been placed off to the side? Why are there no coffee machines in the rooms, forcing patrons to purchase overprice coffee in the coffee shop? We were saved by the fact there are plenty of inexpensive places to eat, and a Walmart, within 10 minutes of the resort. Also, there is plenty of (free) natural beauty and adventure in the nearby Pocono Mountains. It is a great place and I would have given five stars but for the overpricing, and charging for items that other hotels provide as an amenity.

Stacie rnswayman Gmail

Wonderful place. Love love love. So much fun for ages 0-90.

Kyle Stromberg

Great place for kids and adults.

Shelbie Moser

Good, fun clean park. As usual at any park, food is expensive so I would pack some snacks! Hotel room was beautiful!

erika semidey

I'm giving Kalahari 3 stars because my 5 year old daughter loved it!! Loved the slides and the pool. However, the the place leaves much to be desired. Guests throw cups and garbage into the lazy river and hot tub. I saw cherries and orange slices by the side of the pool. The Safari grill (the restaurant inside the water park) should have more than one register open. The basketball pool water was very cold. The beds are hard and uncomfortable and the lines for breakfast on the weekends are horrendous.

Nick Meola

Bed bugs beware! No refund when found! Common issue here stay away!

Woofes_

Really good water park! I went there yesterday and i had a fun time!

Pete R

Very nice short family vacation around the tri state area. Check in was much quicker this time. One thing they can do is room service is too long for cleaning the rooms. It's clear that place is huge , so hire more people. Would also be nice to get big luggage carts like other big resorts. This is the only resort has small carts, and very busy bell room service. It would be nice having one small Kosher restaurant inside the resort. Otherwise , the Kalahari is one of the best local resorts in the tri state area. Appreciate their hospitality for military/law enforcement personell. Would recommend and come back again.

Cindy Castro

Good experience! A lot of people think it’s expensive. However, if you plan in advance, the price is just right. I’d spend anything to make my family have fun.

Toney Brown

I love this place all I can say is fun fun fun and more fun staff is amazing guests are amazing and friendly food at this Resort is a little on the expensive side snacks and all but it is definitely worth the visit all I can say if you haven't been here give it a try you and the family will love it I also love the theme I once visited Great Wolf Lodge and I enjoyed myself there I thought Great Wolf Lodge was amazing until I visit it this place and I can most definitely say it is amazingly amazing even the rooms and they have many to choose from give it a try a lots of fun give it a try

Cryticalss

CLEAN THE POOP FROM THE WAVE POOL. THERE IS LIKE THREE POUNDS OF THAT IN THERE. BTW IT WAS ME. YOUR WELCOME FOR THE FIVE STAR REVEIW. IT WAS A VERY CONFORTABLE PLACE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM.

Sam M

Lots of fun. Some long waits for rides, but I've definitely seen longer. The arcade section is better than most as well, although the prize selection isn't too good.

valerie anne robledo

Kalahari does not only has the best water park but also the best resaurants there is! The arcade is the one place I loved & enjoyed most!

Sujata Majumdar

I went there on middle of march when it was cold outside... but as it was indoor water park we did not feel cold rather we enjoyed a lot... i tried two awesome ride and it was fun... overall a very good place to enjoy

Barry Kurtz

Went on a Groupon special 50% off regular price with a $100 arcade credit, we go in and automaticity get lucky with a room on the level floor where the food and sweet treats are! Rooms were clean and spacious, went during a weekday and was not busy at all, 3 different parks for toddlers, and we found the workers very caring and doing their jobs perfectly!!!! I want to rate it 4 starts simply because we had to go out for reasonable priced food (food being over priced) however, we did pay for the delicious over priced pizza- ITS WORTH IT!!!!

Anthony Zugajewicz

Fun place great for kids and adults!

Liliana Parache

Love Kalahari! Amazing experience overall for kids & grownups! Definitely will be back this winter!

Ed Lewis

SPACIOUS. VERY SPACIOUS. Gorgeous Lobby filled with Ethnic Arts and Furnishings. The hotel rooms are fitting, balcony units are breath-taking. Restaurant is limited (mostly still under construction), but very good. The Indoor water park can get very humid & drinks are overly priced. Lots of endless entertainment. Arcade can bring tears to your eyes (prepare to break your piggy bank). ICE CREAM, Indoor WATER PARK, Outdoor Swimming Pools, Arcade, Convention Halls, Birthday Mascots - A kid's must!

Jennifer Barthelemy

I booked Kalahari in the Poconos from December 26 through December 28. We arrived at approximately 3 p.m. to check in for our stay. After waiting for approximately 45 minutes in line to check in, we checked in at 3:40 and requested a pack n play for the room. Unfortunately, our room wasn't ready yet so we were asked to wait and were assured that we would receive a text when the room was available. My husband, I and our 4 children under the age of 8 years old waited in the lobby for about an hour and a half without any text. We waited in line again and were informed it would still be a little bit. By 7:10, we still had not received a text stating our room was ready, so we went back in the reception line once again to ask when the room would be ready. Unfortunately, we were informed that there was no rooms available so we would have to wait. We were offered a voucher to continue waiting, however we stated that we would prefer a room because we have 4 children (including a 16 month old) who wanted to get settled and get to bed soon. This appeared to be a huge problem for the resort because there was a line of people complaining about waiting for their room assignment. Finally, after persisting we were assigned a room and offered arcade cards for the kids for our almost 4 hour wait. Although we were disappointed regarding the wait, we tried to make the best of it. I called for the pack n play immediately upon reaching the room. I was told it would be 10-15 minutes. In the interim, my husband went to retrieve our luggage. Our luggage was scattered throughout the holding room and could not be located. My husband had to go into the room and search for our luggage himself. It was supposedly mislabeled. After returning to the room, we waited close to an hour for the pack n play. It was never delivered. While waiting, our 16 month old knocked over one of the chairs in the room and suffered a deep gash on his head. Thankfully, my husband was able to stop the bleeding, but we needed to go to an urgent care to close the wound. We decided to check out because the experience had been a disaster up to that point. We were all disappointed to leave (especially because this was our Christmas gift to our kids), but were even more disappointed in the lack of customer service at the resort. My husband started to load up the car while I checked out with the baby. Both the baby and I had blood on us, but wanted to check out quickly. Unfortunately, this was not an option. We had to present all of our bands before we were able to check out. Although I tried to explain that my husband was loading the car and our babysitter was in the room waiting with the other kids and we had no intention of staying or returning to use the waterpark, I was told that we couldn't check out until we presented all of the bands. My baby's head was still bleeding (we were offered tissues) while we had to wait. We were never offered assistance to retrieve our bags or to check out. My husband and I returned our bands at this point, but we had to wait for the babysitter to bring the other kids downstairs so their band could be cut off. We were appalled, not just at the lack of customer service, but at the lack of empathy. We understand that the holiday is busy and delays for check in are a possibility. However, there were many different opportunities for the staff to treat its guests with respect that were never taken. Had we been informed that check in would be delayed a few hours from the start and/or updated throughout the process, I think we would have been better prepared for what to do with our time while we waited. Also, losing or mislabeling guest's luggage and promising delivery for baby items and then never delivering is inexcusable for a resort, especially one that charges $850 a night for a room during the holidays. Our stay, as brief as it was, was such a bad experience and we were appalled with the resorts poor customer service and lack of empathy.

Quality facilities but really poor service at every turn. The Kalahari resort in PA appears fairly new, clean, and even though monstrous in size is well laid out. There are decorative trees, African animal sculpture, and even beautiful art adorning the hallways. That, however, is where the magic stops. From the very beginning of our experience the service at Kalahari (PA) sucked. There’s no eloquent way to put it the service sucks at every turn. Here’s a few examples: - Opted for Valet Car service ($30 per night) and waited 10 mins until I got out and flagged down a guy - At Check in the associate almost seemed bothered to check us in blandly delivering our welcome speech and rushing us along. I’ve had better check ins at a red roof in and they didn’t cost $450 per night - Most Lifeguards appear to be half on and half off duty (except one guy who looks like Lebron and he was the All star of Lifeguarding - he held it down) - Showed up at our 7:45pm reservation on time to an empty Italian restaurant and it wasn’t until 8:15p that we were seated and first poured water and that was after having to complain. - Don’t let me get started in line/ queue management, waits for food in general The list continues but I’d rather spend the rest of this rant with a recommendation for senior leadership. Customer service can be a positive or negative differentiator. At present your service sucks it differentiates your resort in a negative way. I’ve asked other guests and they agree. You could increase your returning guest rate with better service. Kalahari resort should feel welcoming at every turn (especially with the hefty price tag). Your employees should be happy and that feeling will make your guests feel happy too. Guests should feel like guests and should not feel anxiety at every service point while on your property. If creating a service oriented culture is too difficult then perhaps consider automation (kiosks and other self service features) where appropriate

Darren Schlomann

Decided to stay after 3 visits. Great waterpark BUT atrocious service at the bar, very angry when we wouldn't supply a room number-which we were advised not to do at reception and then it to 30minutes to get food at the "fast food restaurant". GWL or Aquatopia for the next visit...

Hoovy

Very clean water park, but it does get a bit noisy

Lissette Vargas

My daughter birthday weekend at Kalahari was amazing. The rooms were clean, the staffs were friendly. Pools were clean. Definitely will be going back.!

Greg Harris

Both my wife, Kat and I very much enjoyed our time and experience at the Kalahari Indoor Waterpark. Cool water slides coupled with great staff. The Kalahari Indoor Waterpark is a must visit attraction!!! Sincerely, Greg Harris

michele cummins

Very expensive but if you're worried about money don't go. Otherwise great place. Makes Great Wolf Lodge look like a backyard plastic pool. Food was great. Monster drinks were good.

alex courtney

The place is fast paced and fun, the water park was huge with some great rides for all ages. The water play grounds kept my nephew buissy all day long.

The Kelly Way

I went about 2 weeks ago and had a terrible experience. I wasn’t able to do any water activities due to pregnancy so I can’t comment on that, but the staff needs training. The food court in the arcade is a hot mess and I almost fell on water in the lobby going to the store and a staff member saw and just walked by. I’m 7 months pregnant and if anything were to happen to me it would’ve been a huge lawsuit. Get it together Kalahari. Totally unacceptable!

T Thomas

Overall the atmosphere is great because it has something to do for all ages. The check-in staff was rushing us even though I had questions that needed answering. During our stay some staff seemed annoyed when asking a question while 2 of them was plane out nasty (need training for staff). I personally would not be going back or plan of keeping my family reunion there.

Victoria Loveable

I freaking love it

Rosiel Santana

So far it has been an awful experience, they said checking was supposed to be at 4 and my family and I are still at the lobby wasting time!! I hope that at time of check out it also like this!! Horrible check in service!! Horrible!!

Sapana Pathak

Awesome water park! Various places to eat inside the waterpark area but kinda pricy. This was our second visit..Place is a lot of fun. Customer service is okay. The water park is huge and has lots of options for all ages. food options are limited and a bit pricy. the staff in the restaurants near the water park are not nice... they made fun of few customers...one named "Dante" was totally out of line plus a lady staff.

Elizabeth Dominguez

Horrible! Not worth the money! Check in is at 4:00pm. I got there 30 minutes early. Didnt get a room until 2 hours later! When asked how much longer every staff member including the “manager” had the same answer “i dont know”. Anyways we finally got a room. It was extremely small! The bathroom was a closet ugh never again.

jennifer manzano

Spent about $360 for a room with 2 queen beds and sofa bed for 1 night stay. 6 adults and 1 toddler. Check in was at 4pm, we came about 12 pm and the room was ready. They also have 'express checkout' by 11am. No need to stop at the desk or do anything. Great selection of pool for all ages. Drinks were weak and overpriced. Overall, it was a good short getaway.

Amir R. Ibrahim

Its always the best My kids love it and I enjoyed it

Julita

Food is absolutely disguisting! Total junk! Make sure you take your sandwiches from home. I dont even want to mention how overpriced... . The place is chaotic and simply dirty. Beside the water park there is not too much here. After few hours you have enough - definitely Not resort experience. We came here for our daughter but i dont see we ll be comming back....

Amanda Hookway

Best waterpark resort! Love kalahari!

Roger lake

Reading other people’s reviews should be used in comedy shows. 1 star review because park was dirty by the end of the day lol. That’s what happens when you have 1,000 people in the same building. Was it clean to start off with? Was your room clean? Yes lol. Everything was great. Check in was quick, water park was clean and so much too do. Oh and the Hot tub that you can go outside or inside? What!! Outside was like 20 degrees but I was outside in the hot tub drinking mixed drinks! My kids had a blast, service was great, our room was clean and comfortable. This resort gets a 5 star all day. Rented the Cabana for $300 but spilt it with my father in law so it was only $150 and what a great idea too do it. Our waitress was their every time we called and gave great service. Food was decent and of course it was expensive but your ina resort so it’s expected. I am a little saddened to say this but wow way niceer then great wolf lodge and more stuff for kids to do. It’s a little bit unfair because Kalihari is much newer so it’s cleaner and not ruin down like great wolf has become. But in all fairness it is larger and has more stuff too do. We have been to every water park in the poconos and this is the best for our family because we have little kids. Camelback is great but more geared for older kids.

jose hernandez

The place is amazing !! Is like summer in winter inside !!

Leslie Buck

Suite was bigger than my apt. Very luxurious. Very congenial housekeeping.

Unicorns in Heaven

Kalahari was fun and beautiful. Also great for all ages. Unfortunately the wristband didn't unlock the room and we had to wait outside the door at least 45 minutes before we got help. Everything was extremely expensive for a waterproof phone case was 45 dollars. Also the wristbands stopped working the next day for some people in our group. Even with all the complaints the water park was very fun and big and the bedrooms were super clean and beautiful.

Mike Cobucci

Summary: Minimum height to maximize the value is 48 inches!!! Costly but comparative in quality to Hurricane Harbor. Very clean and safe. I would not recommend for kids under 48 inches although the lazy river and waterworks area is enormous and could occupy smaller kids for multiple hours. Only downside is the crowds and insufficient changing area. This place caters to the hotel guests and really isn't set up adequately for outside visitors. The lockers filled up fast. This place is epic huge and they pack in the crowd.

Charlene Myers-Avery

Very nice indoor waterpark...lots of different things to do inside waterpark. The rooms were spacious and clean with animal decor. My only complaint would be the huge bathtubs and no safety railings for shower. Not handicap accessible for seniors! Overall, the food was excellent but pricey! So glad we brought food and beverages with us because we only ate breakfast and dinner at the resort. Would definitely come back next year during the week which wasnt crowded nor long lines. Wonderful experience with all the staff we encountered and definitely an inviting atmoshere! Kalahari Resort is a family oriented amusement place to visit and a lot of walking!

Garrett Lenihan

Awesome and a great family experience and vacation

Natasha Bishun

Love this place...coming back with/without the kids!!!!

Hetal Thaker

Very good but pricey

Golden Legend

This place is awesome but the food is way too expensive and it isn’t .. well awesome

So fun! It had a cool theme. They have couch beds and a scary but awesome park

Good place too crowded for my taste. But beautiful!

Nice food, nice water park, but don't go to WRATH OF ANUBIS! ITS SCARY! IF YOUR ON THE 2ND ROOM THERE IS A SKELETON IN THE CORNER! :(

Crystal Lopez

Spent 2 days 1 night there. 1st morning talk to house keeping got fresh towels told them didn't need room cleaned put do not disturb on door came back sign was removed room was cleaned they threw out stuff we were saving asked for manager was told they would make manager aware never spoke to management. TV volume kept going on/off was told sorry but room didn't get changed. Last day pay 69.99 plus tax for extended time check out went swimming came back was locked out room. Had to go downstairs in suits me and kids to get in room complained yet again and asked for manager again was told manager wasn't available someone will get back to me this never happened and 2 days later after leaving I still haven't heard from anyone. For price u end up spending u should be able to speak to a manager or get your room changed if your TV doesn't work. Also times on events would either end early or wouldn't be going on at all which was disappointing

Eliza Boykin

This place is not the place to go for a vacation. It's a day trip only. The food is the worst. And forget about internet access. If u want to go out for food u better make sure its day light because at night it's so dark u just might not find your way back. They need lights and signs leading to this place. I believe they do it on purpose so that they can make the money off of their very expensive terrible food. The water rides are great however they did decide to do maintenance on some rides and had to close them for one hour and 15 minutes . The maintenance had to do with lunch hour and not enough workers. Go figure.

Lin

Not worth $120 for a day pass. The lines were 30 minutes + for the water rides. Most of it was geared towards children and I was misinformed when told there was an outdoor water park as well.

Gina Loyek

Disney World is cheaper the this place. What a joke. Go to Camelback it is 1/2 the price.

Robert Ditta

Always understaffed. long lines for all food and there isn't much to choose from. Very unprofessional staff. Received a late check out for their mess up and they locked us out of our room anyway at 11am. Convention going on with a bunch of drunk young adults and stepped in throw up in the Marakesh market. Rooms are never ready at 4pm!

moses gutierrez

Horrible costumer services I have not even step foot on the property and I am urging everyone to stay away. I call to book a cabana and I was told because I am only going for the day I could not do that. However I just bought 10 day passes at $109 a piece. When I asked why I was told that they would not be able to confirm that I paid for these tickets. I asked to speak to a manager and they sent me to a voicemail. I called back three more times and I was hung up on twice.

Greg Harris

Both my wife, Kat and I very much enjoyed our time and experience at the Kalahari Indoor Waterpark. Cool water slides coupled with great staff. The Kalahari Indoor Waterpark is a must visit attraction!!! Sincerely, Greg Harris

My review specifically relates to a question through the chat service. My question was regarding military pricing. Simple question, Do veterans receive a discount or is it only active duty? The answer was retirees and vets are eligible for the discount. I asked a couple of more questions regarding what type of documentation is needed. I asked if a VA I'd card would suffice. The individual then stated Veterans are not eligible for the discount. With no warning, the chat ended. I had copied and pasted his original response that yes Vets are eligible, with no answer. Below is the exact response from the individual. Retirees and Veterans also qualify for the discount.

Brendan Barrow-Somers

Let me just say this is a great place to go for the weekend. Staff were friendly for the most part, huge arcade, and America’s largest indoor waterpark. What I did notice, however, is that some rooms have bugs crawling around everywhere! My room had a few and it bothered me. Also the 2 waterslides named Screaming Hyena and Sahara Sidewinder will kill your back if your not wearing a shirt. And even if you do wear a shirt, you will go very slow. I think you guys should re-do those two slides. But overall, this was a very fun place. Food was decent, staff were friendly, and had a great water park. I recommend you come here to spend time with your family.

AlexC Gaming

This place will blow you away with the biggest indoor water park nice staff and good food you won the jackpot oh I almost forgot to mention there is an arcade

michele cummins

Very expensive but if you're worried about money don't go. Otherwise great place. Makes Great Wolf Lodge look like a backyard plastic pool. Food was great. Monster drinks were good.

Adam DeMuth

The lazy river filters were filled with used bandaids, strands of hair and other miscellaneous items that look bleached from all the chlorine and did not look like they had been cleaned in months. Being a former lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor this was disgusting, unsanitary and poor management of a water park, for the prices that are charged this place should be spotless.

Shruti Joshi

Such a nice and lovely place for a family getaway. Lots of fun options for all age group peeps. The water was clean. There were lifeguards all the time everywhere. The under water bars were our favorite. Went to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it was totally worth.

Nisha Shah

Each restaurant food was decent, process aren't too bad, and they have Good service. The actual hotel is nice and have a lot of different things to offer including shops and food. However, the people who come clean didn't even bother taking out the trash and giving new bags or toilet paper. We found old coffee left in the maker.. The shower's water pressure is weak. Beds and pillows are uncomfortable. Waterpark is nice, fun for kids and adults. They do a good job in keeping the place clean, including bathrooms. It's not worth staying more than one night here because you can get through everything. I would recommend coming here m-th, it's not as crowded. The air is thick in the waterpark so be careful.

Vetro Strips

Very fun and not expensive, kid friendly

JAYS REVIEW

Great place for family getaway

Anna B

Awesome spot for the whole family. $119 for admission, $25 for medium size locker. Definitely be back!

Sherry G

Room not ready past 5pm. Many guests ask when their rooms will be ready. Concierge can’t answer or help. Little kids get tired and just sleep in their parents arms.
