This Park corresponds to the category of Park.
Very cool place. Great food and it had a guy talking about history.
Nice small park. Chinese Lantern Festival is very nice.
Franklin Square is a very nice park. We were there for a Chinese latern festival. It was quite nice but very different.
Fun place to take toddlers. There is also food and relatively clean bathrooms
The Chinese lantern event is pretty small for the price. There's also not much around the park. You have to walk a few blocks for dining. But they did have a need garden and snacks on site.
Beautifully designed lanterns, even when they aren't lit up, nice place to take a small scroll thru with kids or for a couple
Nice little spot to chill and rest. Mini golf sure is fun. Great place to spends some times with kids and enjoy yourself
Nice clean park. Square burger is awesome! The pictures are from the Chinese lantern festival
Cute little park with a playground, merry go round, mini golf and a food stand, Squareburger They also do various theme events throughout the year. Not 5 stars because Squareburger leaves a little to be desired since a new food company took over a few years ago.
It was well worth the time spent here. There were live shows where people showcased their talents and skills on stage. There was this beautiful show where the artist was effortlessly changing his face from.one colorful face to another, that needed real tact and skill. I was thoroughly intrigued with his performance and waited for about an hour to watch that one more time. Must see! Highly recommended.
Love when the lateen festival is here. It’s beautiful
Went for the Chinese Latern Festival. Enjoyed it very much!
Went there for the Chinese Lantern Festival. It was AMAZING! As usual. The lights and colors of the displays were a delight. Franklin Square boasts an old fashioned carousel as well as a miniature golf course and a fountain. There is also a nice playground.
Loved the casual atmosphere with people hanging out with their own folding chairs, a movie screening on a big screen, the lighting and the fast food joints. The fountain show synchronized to music was a great addition.
Dancing fountain playing the theme song from Rocky was amazing! Carousel and the playground were really nice...didnt get a chance to get to the mini golf, but I'd come back for that as well.
This park is very beautiful and has a good fountain in the middle. When I went they had a lot of Chinese designs that I took pics with.
Because it has so many cool things and i took soooo Manny cool pictures and i learned how to play some type of flute!
This Japanese lantern Festival event was so beautiful!!! And they had a show with traditional dancing. The lanterns were really big and luminous. The people were very friendly at the gate. There’s lancers you can step on the light up and photo spots. There’s one lantern you could take a picture with that gives you illusion of you wearing wings. They also have a big gigantic heart for a very romantic picture.
We went to check out the Chinese Lantern festival and had a great time. It was busy but not too crowded. Everyone was friendly and I loved getting a taste of Chinese culture both literally and figuratively. It is a very relaxed atmosphere with everyone taking photos of the beautiful displays. You can definitely tour the entire park and watch the shows in 2 and a half hours. Great place to go for a date night.
Had a wonderful time with my family at this amazing event. Relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. Really cool stuff to see and share with the family.
Perfect getaway with family and friends. The only problem is mosquitoes in evening.
Nice place to take your kids, the carousel is free and there is a playground. The fountain is nice. Only thing is that it's a little small and the parking can be hard.
Nice little park in the middle of the city. I recently went there for the Chinese lantern festival that's held there. Theres a giant fountain in the middle with an old school carousel to its side. The park also offers food and drinks, and yes a bathroom. If your in the area and never been it's worth checking out.
Our family loves Franklin Square! We make sure to stop by every time we are in the city. The carousel is a ton of fun and they have playground areas for both little and big kids. It is definitely worth stopping by for a little relaxation and fun.
Franklin Square is always awesome, just to hang around or for the carousel or mini-golf. But, the Chinese Lantern Festival was really special. The whole park was lit up for the night and there were performances and vendors. The lanterns were amazing, depicting lots of different characters and scenes. The show features performances by folk dancers, contortionists, and a foot juggler. A little expensive to attend ($18) but worth it on a pleasant summer evening.
It's a nice park and it's so nice to see the kids excited about the things around them ..
It was my 1st time there. Took the kids. They really enjoyed them self. They played at the playground, mini golf, had lunch and more. We are going back this Sunday.
Chinese Lantern exhibit. Pleasant walk, colorful exhibit. Chinese acrobat show was interesting Pleasant evening
I all ways love this square. It’s not busy or funky one . You can take a break over here , just sit down relax and look at the water fountain. Depends on seasonal they decorate the park so beautiful. Like this time with Chinese lantern festival so awesome.
This is a great park for a nice, Summer evening. The kids loved mini golf. The course was interesting and the entire family had fun. The fountain show, with music, brightly closed a great night out.
Beautiful at night. Lights a d figures lit up everywhere. Such a pleasant atmosphere
Beautiful and clean park. Love visiting during the day to see the lanterns from the festival. There is mini golf as well!
This is my third year attending the festival and while it was beautiful, I was a little disappointed with the available shops and food stands. The options were very limited and the prices were steep. It’s a beautiful experience to go at night, I feel it was better prior years!
I really loved it! It was my first time going & there was a whole walk way to go around. There was also food, a restroom & a Carasol. They also have a show towards the end it’s entertaining. I recommend it, they don’t always have it so take advantage when it’s there! $$ in between.
Wonderful place to take the kids for a night out or just to get out truly enjoyed myself and so did the family
Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival: This festival of lights and Chinese culture is quite interesting. They have a good show of Chinese dance and choreography. The lights are spectacular. The pandas are the most beautiful. Excellent exhibition
Chinese paper lantern festival was super cool! Get there at dusk and watch the gorgeous lit sculptures come to life as it gets dark. Awesome food and performances, very fun!
We played mini-golf and had a good time. A little expensive. Two holes were flooded out, but the staff was working on them.
Went to see the Chinese Lantern Festival at Franklin Square. Not quite what we were expecting, but a great family activity. Very pretty displays, very colorful. Was a fun evening with friends.
The Chinese Lantern Festival was not without its kinks, but all in all I had a deep love and appreciation for the festivity. I find it's important to support and celebrate. The performances were fantastic (if the venue was a little small to view them properly) and the displays were inspiring. However I highly recommend you visit a business in Chinatown before your visit to the celebration.
The light show is spectacular. It gets better every year. There's always so much to see and explore from the train ride to mini golf. The food at square burger is yummy and fairly priced. They even handed out free snowflake accessories. Keep up the great work!!!
It was a nice place, a playground. Food and beer. A beer garden, and other activities. The fountain plays music every 1/2 hr and does a little show
I love to visit this place because of the joyful atmosphere and greenery. i often visit here with my friends and family for outing and fun. Finest place for relaxation.
Awesome! I took the little one to the Chinese Lantern Festival and we had a great experience. I would definitely recommend. All ages can enjoy. The performances were really good and the light displays were unique and spectacular. You can also buy artwork and other trinkets. Lastly the food of course, Chinese food and other American fast food and also alcohol if you wish. That park is always super clean. Even though there were hundreds of people there, not a drop of trash on the ground. It was a great time.

This place was amazing! Mini golf was so much fun, and it's a beautiful environment! They even have park benches and tables we were able to have a picnic at, and the fountain was beautiful! I will definitely be back!
What an experience for my family! We had the great pleasure of enjoying the Chinese Lantern Festival a few weeks ago and it was amazing!
Went there for the International Chinese Lantern show. It was great. Amazing works of art
Spent over an hour here. Light show and fountain were nice.
So beautiful when lit up at night
Always cool to visit during events, not too pricey, just be wary of occasional mosquitoes at night. Performances are also cool, remember to check your schedule so you don't wait an hour!
It's smaller than I thought but it's very wonderful. Be careful with the bathrooms they are small there are a few of them but they are for men women and children so be very careful when you enter them. Use meterup app if you're going to drive here it will help find you a parking spot. I recommend public transport or Lyft ride share. Plenty of food and drinks and small shops. Best time to come is just before sunset.
Franklin Square is a nice enough park located at the beginning of Philadelphia’s historic district. It is home to the annual lantern festival and other exhibits throughout the year. It is also home to a children’s playground, a carousel, a Square Burger, public restrooms and a fountain that has nightly light/water shows. Park is clean but the playground is not well maintained. It was safe but a good majority of the swings were out of order during our visit. Lanterns were also left up in the trees although the rest of the display was removed. My kids did have fun on the carousel and tickets were reasonable at $3/ticket.

I like this place for because of different kind of trees, flowers also i am nature so i love greenery. The fountain was superb and the place was very lovely . According to me it's a perfect place to visit with friends and family.
A great park to escape the city! Summer is definitely the best time to be here. Festivals, events and a wild fountain show all add to the atmosphere. Combined with miniature golf and a carousel, Franklin Square is a definite must experience.
It is a clean, safe, friendly place to enjoy the day with my children.
We went there at the time of the lantern festival, but we expected to see flying lanterns from the movies. Although, there were many designs and different art pieces glowing in the night. There was also a show (spoiler alert
I love the special events at this park. We come to the winter light show and the Chinese Lantern Festival, and we'll go see July's event. They make really good use of this space.
Pleasant green area in the centre of the old town. Fountain, seating, shady trees, children's play area, carousel, rest rooms, mini-golf, other services.

Great Place it was my first Chinese lantern festival. Really nice.
Wonderful park food, drinks, mini golf, Carousel and lightshow..nice cool night...

Made it to the Chinese Lantern Festival this year. Quite a show. Lots of cool lanterns all over the park and a nice live show. Unfortunately, not due to anyone's fault, it was a thousand degrees and the entire park is enclosed with netting (to keep looky lous out) which also keeps the very nice breeze outside as well. Glad I checked it out once, no need to ever go back.,
We went for the chinese lantern festival. Amazing time. Beautiful displays and extremely courteous staff working this event. Special note regarding the carousel operator....friendliest, most helpful and kind employee anywhere ever. Really made a special effort to make my granddaughter smile and enjoy herself. Highly recommend this place and this event. We will return again and again. Fair prices too!
Chinese Lantern Festival was not what I expected but loved it just the same. Takes about 30-40 minutes to walk through. The idea of making it timed on the weekend is a great idea so you can actually SEE the displays! The price was too much for the small festival.
We explored the square during the lantern festival. So much fun! The lantern displays are beautiful...both before and after dark. There are lots of food and drink options. Mini golf is available, as well as carousel rides. Souvenirs are also available...both cheaper kinds (like t-shirts and light-up headbands) and more expensive ones (like ocarinas, straw paintings, and wire weavings). Yes, there are lots of visitors present at the festival, but it wasn't too bad. The lantern festival is a must see!
Nice little green space in the middle of the city. We were there during the Chinese lantern festival. It was a little pricey for the offerings, but the lanterns were impressive. We enjoyed ourselves.
I came here for the Chinese lantern festival and I was not disappointed! The square is lovely, well maintained and close to many delicious hole in the wall restaurants. Great spot to hang out and relax.
Little pricey to just walk around and see a few things but a great experience. It was a nice night and would recommend everyone get there atleast once
Nice park, clean, they have fun festivals such as the Chinese Lantern Festival! There's also mini golf and a carousel, both of which are affordable!
Went here for the Chinese Lantern festival which was beautiful. Definitely worth a visit. Amazing latterns and traditional performances. The park also has mini golf course but only visited for the festival.
The kids love Franklin Square they have so much fun definitely visit a few times
Franklin Park was wonderful. The light show ... Beautiful. Very comfortable ... Could have fallen asleep in the blue chairs. Good music. A real nice place to just hang out.

Nice little spot to chill and rest. Mini golf sure is fun. Great place to spends some times with kids and enjoy yourself
Nice Rocky theme water and light show while you walk through the park.
Went to the Chinese Light Festival, had a pleasant experience!
love this place, so friendly for kids, families and people in general, the ice cream was delicious, the mini golf looked very nice and the fountain was great. Highly recommend this place
Kid friendly playground, moningolf course modeled after historic philly, a carousel and a fountain that plays to music. Nice small park in the heart of philly.
Little park for enjoyable activities. Good let down after the historical sites
Great place for a relaxing evening with the kids playground and carusel
Every year my family and I go to Franklin Square for the Chinese Lantern Festival, and every year it gets better! The park itself is beautiful, spacious, and clean. 0 complaints! Good work Philly!
Beautiful park. When I was here in July they had the chinese lantern festival. Beautiful Chinese exhibits and the fountain is breathtaking.
A great date night, would suggest wearing sneakers. There is a lot if walking to do and it's mostly in grass.
Mother's Day outing with family at the Chinese Lantern Festival! One of us had doubts about how the night would fair until night fall!! The exhibits were spectacular, colorful. The dancing was great. Some of the lines were long for food. But the night proved to change the minds & hearts of the grumpiest among us!!
We went on June and found a Chinese Lantern Festival, awesome designs, creative And huge ✨ I think 1 hour is enough for it. Just don't like thiere food.
Such a unique little park. The Chinese Lantern Festival was great fun!
Loved the atmosphere and the attractions. Great fun for a family outing or a first date
Love it in daylight and at night time. Very happy I had a chance to go.
I truly enjoyed every bit of the Chinese Lantern Festival!!! If it wasn't for my work schedule, I would be definitely coming back. Can't wait for next year!! Awesome time indeed:)
They have lots of free programming for kids and adults alike. Lots of green space for dogs and affordable activities like mini golf and carousel. The park is run by a non profit that really cares about the park and it's people. Plus they have a water fountain for dogs!
I loved seeing the Chinese Lantern Festival at Franklin Square. Great place to rake the kids.
An urban oasis within philly, Franklin Square is a remote park thanks to the major traffic thoroughfares surrounding it. It is especially fun to visit when a festival is taking place such as Christmas or the Chinese Lantern Festival!
Loved the Chinese lantern festival we had a great time. 1st time in Philadelphia and this places was awesome.
Franklin Sqauare is a nice little city park. Our favorite time to visit is at Christmas time when the park and the fountain are decorated with lights. The lights play in sync with Christmas music. Warm up by the fire pits or take a ride on the carousel. They also have a mini golf course. This is a nice place to visit with young children, teens or couples. My children are 4 & 15 and both enjoyed visiting Franklin Square.
The Chinese Lantern Festival was beautiful, very powerful, awe inspiring, and a must see! Lanterns over 60 feet tall, one over 100 feet long! Some made up of over 9000 individually placed 1oz. bottles filled with colored liquid! Just amazing. Show runs until the end of June. Don't miss it!!
Outstanding displays. Beautiful lanterns better than expected.
Most fun. Home made Chinese food Loved the lanterns.
This is a perfect atmosphere for an emo, millenial, parents or whatever you are. If you need inspiration to write a book or a song just go there. If you want to enjoy the evening with your family go there.
My family and friends had an Awesome Time at this event & will be returning next year. Such a Beautiful Atmosphere..
Awesome event Chinese Lantern Festival. Do not miss. Awesome displays, phenomenal acts.
It's a very nice experience. I recommend watching the preformers and taking your time to see the lanterns.
Fabulous playground area and events for the kids with plenty of water sprinklers to keep you cool on a hot day out
A beautiful collection of lanterns and lighted displays with an added stage show of contortionists, jugglers, martial artists and more. A fun time for the entire family.
Carousel is cute and the minigolf is awesome! Staff are very friendly.
Such a beautiful spot especially on a summer night with the lights. Always a lovely time when I visit.
A great place for families and friends.
Went for the Chinese lantern festival, and it was easy to forget how close we were to the bridge and arterial roads. Clean, accessible (El to 5th & Independence with a short walk through parks in the spring is a relaxing walk), and relaxing. Great night! Ended up spending almost 3 hours there. Kid friendly, with actual bathrooms by the fountain, for any parents who are wondering.
The Lantern Festival was so fun and mesmerizing I had no idea I would enjoy I half as much as I did. There were plenty of different things to eat within the culture, so many exhibits to experience and things to learn! The shows were also so interesting and col I couldn't believe how talented the performers were and how easily they drew everyone into their performances I don't know if the exhibits change from year to year but I will come back yo experience it for sure!
The Chinese lantern festival is really cool and a must see at night. Plenty of authentic Chinese foods and trinkets for sale as well
The Chinese lantern festival was cool. I wish there is something like that in NYC.
The Chinese Lantern Festival was AMAZING! Run don't walk and go see this before they leave!
I love this park. Last night I walked through and they had a waterworks show. It was actually incredible
Neat to see the Chinese lantern fest. Would have been better at night. Fun game of mini putt!
Chinese Lantern Festival 2019... just a taste of whats in store! Go see it! Amazing!!!
Adorable square. Love the mini golf. Such a perfect location for the Chinese lantern festival.
A cool Family Place family oriented bring cash
I got there few times a year. It is small but good enough for toddlers to play
The park is clean with lots to do. The young employees at the mini golf booth were extremely helpful and friendly. As was the young man on the carousel. However I wasn’t impressed with the girl behind the counter at Square Burger or whatever it’s called. Didn’t see us waiting and waiting with a small child. I had to walk around the building to find her talking and talking to a friend. When she finally took our order she let us know how we were cutting into her social time by her abruptness. My grandson had the best time the whole afternoon. But next time we’ll pack food.
The Chinese lantern festival, still going on until June 30, 2019. Interesting, different. Some Asian food and drink, souvenirs a short cultural show and the lighting displays. Very pretty. One older style display was made of small bottles of colored liquid in front of white lights. Beautiful! $18 admission for adults.
Decided to take my son out for some mini-golf golf even though it had rain pop up earlier this evening. They did warn me that three holes were kind of down to the Rain and things were at my own risk but we had a good time. My 5-year enjoyed his first time playing mini golf. Plus there is very little people out there which made for a real nice experience able to take our time no rushing and I could take my time teaching him. Staff were friendly, helping and trying to clear any puddles for us, add they had limited access to equipment with our driving late in the evening (8pm). Of course we were enjoying ourselves and being busy teaching him I only remembered to take a video of the light show. We both really like the light show. All ages stopped and sat for the show. Carousel and the play ground to end our night out before summer is over.
Nice place to relax and a play area for kids
A modest-sized area for family fun. It has at least 2 food vendors, 1 alcoholic beverage vendor, a fountain with a nice water show (with light show after sunset), and more importantly: a children's playground. Let the kids run wild, have a nice lunch or evening snack, then go home when the kids are exhausted. Winning at life.

Ery nice. Went for the Chinese Lantern Festival, very clean and well maintained, especially the restrooms. Only complaint is the Blue Flame Memorial wasn't lit up at all.
Nice quiet park but smaller than expected. Burger stand was disappointing.
Clean quiet but the washers don’t clean your whites
It is really cool looking at the lanterns and there are food booths and shows. This was my first time going and I was impressed but it got more and more crowded as the night progressed.
Went to the Chinese Lanturn Festival at Franklon Square! I had an amazing time the show was great. Great spot for date night, family and friends. Beer Garden was great. The food court is also good.
Nice little city park with mini golf and a carousel. There seems to always be some sort of event going on and it’s a relatively short walk from Independence Hall area. Great place to bring the kids or to just relax on the bench and observe the surroundings.
The Lantern Festival was so fun and mesmerizing I had no idea I would enjoy I half as much as I did
I used to love going to this park, but now it seems all they care about is any money grab they can make. PLEASE STOP REQUIRING PEOPLE TO BUY TICKETS TO THE LANTERN FESTIVAL IN ORDER TO ACCESS MINI GOLF. I used to come here for mini golf every summer, but now it seems the lantern festival is taking up half, if not more, of the summer... AND they're considering extending it. PLEASE DON'T, or at least provide a way to let people mini golf without having to pay roughly $20 just to be able to spend another $5-10 for mini golf per person. I don't think I'll ever go to this park again as the best part, mini golf, is never available until summer is practically over. Please give the people access to their park back and stop trying to profit off every little thing, it's a really bad look.
Checked out the 2019 Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival with my wife on our 13th Anniversary. Artistically crafted works of art on a grand scale. Most were wonderous while others were whimsical. But all are beautiful. Best seen at night. I almost forgot we were in a city. lol
Great activity in the city, fun, clean, fast. Recommend coming with kids. My husband loved it.
Awesome time with the children. Thet enjoyed the dancing water show as well as great park and playground time. I love how its separated for safety.
Love the fountain show. Great place for kids. Playground, open space, snack bar and restrooms all in Center city.
Very nice with historic value connecting Phillidalphia n New Jersy Nice n memorable place
It's a great park with a miniature Philly minigolf, a carousel and lunch trucks. It's just too expensive for what is offered and the lack of cleanliness in the park. For the prices you expect the bathrooms, the park, and the walkways through the park to be clean.
Only four stars because I was there during the day and part of the area was closed for a private event. The lanterns are impressive and fun.
Now Franklin Square is transformed to Chinese Lantern Festival~ Before 6pm, admission is FREE!! You can check out all the lantern pieces. Great photo opportunity!! After 6pm, there will be admission fee because all the lanterns will be light up. Also, there will be food & beverage for sale.
Would be nice if the area that is cordoned off as For Adults didn't have children everywhere.
It was my 1st time there. Took the kids. They really enjoyed them self. They played at the playground, mini golf, had lunch and more. We are going back this Sunday.
Pretty and well kept. We were able to watch some of the fountain displays that were set to music. Lots of cool little corners to check out.

Love...love..love..this place. Great place to bring a blanket and stretch out....and have a little picnic with the family.
Always wanted to go to Chinatown. Now l did. It was fun having breakfast there.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and very child friendly
Nice quiet park, has a merry go round, Serene park in Historical Downtown.
Franklin Square pretty convenient as far as getting there but it's surrounded by the basically the Ben Franklin Bridge on-ramp Circle anyway so when the other side of the park is the ramp to go to 676 is highway also and parking is not the best they're so I think it would be trouble having parking there but they have some nice things there to City keeps it up pretty good with sand sculptures right now they're having a Chinese theme with the dragons in the artwork from the Oriental Community close to Chinatown in Philadelphia
Pros- Small children will like it (7yrs and under). If you just need something to do with the kiddos and have no clue what, go for it. Costs around $20pp if you want to play mini golf and ride the carousel. There was a food truck and a couple of concession stands but don't expect dinner. Good place to tire your kids before bed. If they enjoy it just smile and pretend you do too. Cons- if you are just visiting for a few days you are not missing anything if you skip it. Everything on the playground squeaks horribly and when they are all going at the same time this may take you to migraine city. The swings are so low to the ground that they are practically touching it. It is just a park and is in no way close to an amusement park or major gathering spot if that's what you are seeking... being just a park the carousel, mini golf, and fountain are a nice touch though. But I didn't find it to be a must see attraction. If you go by the pics on the website you may be really disappointed.

Amazing place with lot of greenery. the atmosphere was very cool and joyful . Perfect place to go with your friends and family. The food courts were also nice and serve fresh and reasonable food.
This little park offers so much, especially with the lantern festival that turns it into a miniature wonderland for kids. The city has really hit a homerun with the way it has manage to elevate this park and turn it into a legitimate attraction for families. Enjoy burgers, miniature golf, a carousel, and seasonally, the lanterns.
Franklin Square is a cool park located near the Constitution Center in downtown Philly. It hosts a bunch of festivals each year including the really cool Chinese Lantern Festival. There is also a neat Christmas village. It's worth a visit.
Different events at different times of the year. It's not that big but it's the Central Park at the heart of philly
Went to the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival here. It wasn't what I thought it would be but it was still ok. I feel like it could have been a little less cartoony and more cultural, but it was still enjoyable. Didn't take photos of the cartoony lanterns, but I have included one of the more cultural lanterns.
The Chinese Lattern Festival was happening when I took my 1 yr old grandson to the play ground here. The playground is very nice, peaceful, clean, no strangers hanging around, no graffiti, no pee on the kids slides, etc. Nice.
Loved it my children had a blast and so did I.
Great water fountain and place to relax in the heart of the city.
It was my 1st time there. Took the kids. They really enjoyed them self. They played at the playground, mini golf, had lunch and more. We are going back this Sunday.
Beautiful light show. Expensive...certainly not for persons on a budget. But a beautiful sight with all the lights.
Gorgeous view and enjoy the walk around grass
My daughter loved the carousel. Very peaceful, clean , park for the family
Chinese Lantern Festival is awesome! Beautiful colors, family friendly, interesting food! Cute mini golf course!
