REVIEWS OF Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve IN Oregon

We took the cave tour, and it was so much fun! The caves are chilly so wear warm clothing... though they have loaner jackets in the visitors center in case you forget yours. There are lots of stairs in the cave, but it's not too strenuous. If you're short like me, you'll have an easier time with the low ceilings. We saw 1 bat on our trip who was really cute. I highly recommend this trip!

Kevin Mapes

Beautiful caves, no flashlights were allowed and the lighting was dim and boring. I remember as a child coming here and seeing beautiful caverns and side tunnels beaming with vibrant colors. Now only the main tunnel is lit with white light. The side tunnels are dark and not visible. It made the caves seem smaller and less enchanting.

Stormy DuMars

1.7 million years in the making. Perfection

Carolann Mccue

Everybody up there was really good and very nice the ranger was excellent and funny and if you have kids he's really good with kids

Ed Yu

It is off the beaten path but well worth the detour. this National Monument is a gem hidden in the Redwoods. A very nice cave tour, I historic Lodge, and some very very nice Rangers. All in all a great trip and a great tour. Wish we had the opportunity to stay in that historic Lodge.

Scot Torrey

Really cool caves, figuratively and literally (44 degrees).

Jack Jamgochian

Had a great tour with a young zestful park ranger! Made tons of corny jokes for the kids and led us on a safe tour through the centuries old cave that was deemed a National Monument by President Taft because of it's unique characteristics. The tour guide really gave us a full history of the cave and put us in the perspective of the original cave explorers and their experiences. Even saw a bat!

Jennifer Waldroup

Loved chateau and visitor center has kids cave area and wildlife info. Youngest was under 42" so we couldn't do tour. Worth the drive but it's way off highway and windy roads

Ava Miller

Our guide was great. The place is beautiful!

Joshua Reddick

Amazing place! Our guide was extremely informative. I wish I could remember her name because she was able to answer so many of our questions!

Pieter Wagener

The staff is really friendly and helpful

Gweneth Tambe

We had ranger Cheryl. She was very knowledgeable, informative, patient with all of our many questions from our group. It was better than I remembered it as a child. Love all the trails that were around there. Unfortunately the deer like to come hang out in the parking lot, hoping that people will leave garbage. So if you go, please put your garbage in the trash. They were literally trying to eat the plastic bags that somebody's beef jerky was in.

Monica McDonald

First cave experience, loved it. We enjoyed the informative tour and truly remarkable features. If you are in decent shape it is good exercise; however if you are out of shape or obese it might be too difficult to navigate.

FJ Seattle

Great place to visit with kids. Bring a jacket!

lhea spediacci

Park says open 24 hours so we stopped in. Gate was locked but park ranger drove up and said that it was fine to go in and take a look around. Definitely going back to check out the caves.

Siena Klein

A fantastic climb inside for people who can walk briskly. Guide was very nice and interesting.

Lisa Fitchpatrick

Beautiful cave tour. Such a beautiful area and tour. Guides were great and informative! The climbs are real. Not handicap friendly. But its a cave, where they are trying to leave as lil impact as possible. Lots of stairs, inclines and places without handrails. So please make sure you are up for the tour. My body is aching..but totally worth it. The restuarant is closed so bring snacks and water. Also fyi no purses or bags including camera bags. You may bring a camera, just no flash photography.

jessica jenkins-priebe

So beautiful! Our guide, Ranger Melissa was really amazing too. Super fun and informative.

Lisa Stewart

Great experience while in Southern Oregon!! It’s only $10 for a tour and well worth it. We had Ranger Neil and he was soooo nice, patient, kind and FUNNY!! Super knowledgeable and able to talk to our level of cave intelligence. He had adults and kids laughing in our tour group. The pace is a little slow but that’s good when you’re in a dark cave. Dress warm as the temps are 45-ish degrees inside the cave. Make sure all parties are comfortable with lots of steps UP as well as crouching down in a few smaller spaces. There is a cafe in the chalet with food and drinks along with a cute shop.

Shawn Abbott

Great tour definitely visit this location the prices are fantastic as well

Ruth Pena

A nice long drive we enjoyed the scenery. Seeing the changes of the landscape to our destination. We went late and only hiked the scenic trail for a bit but it sure made for a spectacular view and picture opportunities. Unfortunately the caves are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday the trails are still accessible.

Joshua Sunrise

A hidden treasure of natural history and wonder. You need to commit to the drive...but I say the views are well worth it.

Kristen Goree

A beautiful area of the forest, and great cave tours. Just watch your step and you'll be fine :)

Thomas diCo

I don't know if the word amazing covers this place enough. It for me was truly a Hidden Gem on a trip through Oregon. There was a chateau that was built in the early 1900s European style. It had such a warm atmosphere. The rooms feel very European style but I recommend splurging and get a top floor if you can. The staff was very helpful and the food was awesome. The tour through the caves was especially neat. If this is not on your places to visit in Oregon please add it.

Mark Hodges

Love the hiking here!

Rosie Jones

Fun tour through the caves. We stopped here when traveling from the Crater Lake National Park to the Redwoods in Northern California. We have a National Park pass, which is supposed to give you free entrance to all national parks and monuments- but apparently this place doesn’t count. I was annoyed about that. But the tour guide was really nice and knowledgeable and caves are always fun. Don’t go out of your way to stop by, but it’s a fun experience if convenient.

Nicole Niebler

Ranger Melinda was amazing! I got a one on one tour because nobody else signed up, and she showed me endemic species, cave features, and really seemed to care that I had a good experience in the cave. It's a windy road to get there, but you can't go wrong doing the cave tour!

Ana Otero

It was great! Beautiful place for visit and learn! Very interesting!

gerardo martinez

The caves are closed for the winter but a great walk anyhow. The ranger and park workers were very helpful. I strongky recommended it.

Tony Simonelli

Very awesome and knowledgeable tour guides. Would recommend for any explorer!!

Mike Boussom

An unexpected delight

Trevor D.

Awesome time. Definitely worth the drive if you're within a 2-3 hour radius.

Ashley Barrett

Went as a family of 6 to enjoy the adventure, we were having a pretty great time as we brought 3 children (one of them being 43’ tall and the requirement is 42’). We got a tour guide from one of the lady employees who automatically started projecting some pretty rude comments and attitude towards our group. Insisting we not hold our 3 almost 4 yr olds hand while walking up the stairs as we were only trying to assist him for safety. She was stating for our safety we not hold onto him, which we abided her wishes. She then stated we couldnt guide him by his back, and instantly started getting bossy saying she’d have to ask us to leave. We told her we understood but are protective parents and felt more comfortable assisting him. She said it wasn’t allowed and we asked her if she could then just let us out. All 6 of us leaving the tour early she then comments on why all of us needed to leave. We simply said we came as a family we leave as a family. Was a real disappointment. Suggest some of the tour guides have a friendly attitude towards families.

Carmen Burgess

I like to hike the trails. It's gorgeous!

Jenny Tjandra

Should visit at least once in your life to this place, so pretty. Make sure before you go to check on their website, cause there are some rules to follow, and wear a warm clothes, cause its cold inside. Anywy, i heard that they are going to close next summer (2019).

Sam Hisel

Great cave tours and some pretty hikes around the area as well.

David Huitt

Very nice establishment. Nice people beautiful views..

Kaleb Knauff

Great way to cool off on a hot day. Good cave tour, and history. not too many tight places.

Miss Adorkable

Lucky to have such beautiful formations with knowledgeable guides, a rarity and must see.

Patrick Hazen

Good view of Southern Oregon geology. Rare water eroded marble cave with the usual cave features. Guided tour (90 minutes) with improved pathways, moderate difficulty. Passages are tight in areas, definitely not for claustrophobic people. Paths on bluffs surrounding the cave entrances provide good hiking opportunities. Neat CCC-built historic lodge and facilities, good gift shop. Well worth the visit, highly recommend.

Heidi Narum

This was the highlight of our vacation. Erin gave a great tour. We enjoyed the Nature Hike that begins at the end of the tour. It's definitely worth the time. If it hadn't started raining we would have really enjoyed exploring more hikes. This has become one of my all-time favorite National Parks.

Eva Eriksen

Oh this was a wonderful place! Although we didn't have time for the tour, we heard many happy comments from those who did. Be sure to stop by the lodge. They serve breakfast and lunch in the coffee shop and dinner in the dining room. If you can spend the night, the lodge provides beautiful bedroom and a lobby to die for! The lodge will be closed for 2 years after this summer for retrofit, so if you can make it - go!

Robin Lang

We took the cave tour one day, and the candlelight tour the next. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. I loved the Caves gift shop. I'm a teacher and they provided me with information about the Jr. Ranger program and all the pamphlets that go along with it. Everything in the gift shop is very affordable and there is quite a large selection of items to choose from. The Chateau is rustic and beautiful - the fireplaces are gorgeous! The diner is very unique and the food was delicious and had very large portions! The trails around the Chateau and cave are beautiful (somewhat strenuous), with waterfalls and lots of wildlife. We saw about 10 deer after our candlelight tour. Great place to go!

Vickie Beresford

Always a great time. Did the Haunted candlelight tour. I don't like to be scared. But they did a great job with the right amount of scare. Walked the trail afterwards. Such a great walk and of course view. Gotta love Oregon!

Edward Coles

Pretty cool place. Not as grand as Mammoth Cave in Kentucky but the fact that it is granite is amazing. Definitely on the harder side as far as getting around in the cave. Really enjoyed the trip.

Mike Wasden

Very interesting place to explore! Our guide was very good, too - didn't just tell facts about the geology of the area but told a lot of stories about people and events that occurred here over time.

Kristen Rich

We stayed the night at the Chateau and had a 10am reservation for the tour of the caves. We woke up earlier than expected and asked if we could switch it reservation for 9am and they let us. There were only 7 of us on the tour including the tour guide. She was very knowledgeable about the caves and the history of how they were "discovered". It was quite the experience knowing we were the first ones in the caves that morning and the caves were absolutely mind blowing. You must see to understand.

Bon Manhkong

A hidden gem away from crowds. Get there early to book a slot... Otherwise you will have to wait. The Discovery Tour is awesome! It's only $10. The Off-Trail Tour is an incredible experience! $45. I was the only outsider accompanied by 6 Park Rangers. You belly crawl, get on all 4s, shimmy your way through crevices and roll like a hot dog in places. Gear and suit provided! Be careful when plugging into Google Map... Stay on the main road! Google Map took me to a dirt road filled with rocks and pot holes and I got a flat tire on the middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception!

Joanne C

Amazing! Beautiful. Went as a kid, and have now taken my kids. Our guide was awesome. Funny and informative! Very cold, so wear warm clothes. Strenuous but so worth the leg burn! Great gift shops and food too. Be sure to take lots of pics! Listen to your guides, they have a ton of great info. Get the books in the store too!

Zac Case

Definitely an awesome adventure. I would love to go back and explore some of their hiking trails. Also dress warm if you're planning on going it's very cold in the cave

Richard Joyner

Hands down the best spelunking I could have asked for made it before renovations and a closure, great staff, great accommodations, great dining, and the most patience from a wonderful tour guide.

Tillium

Very cool tour of the caves, which is the only thing to really do. Definitely some cool views and stories, hopefully it's the same for all tour guides. Remember that caves are cold so dress appropriately.

John Cochran

Wonderful historic setting. We enjoyed the great old buildings, had a good lunch in the cafe. Didn't have time for the cave tour today, but it will be a future excursion.

Alpha Featherfeet

Fun-nominal!!! Talk about a great tour visit. Beautiful park. Really wish we had more time to hike the trails. We can’t wait to return (from Utah) and do the in depth cave spelunking.

Raymond M.

Incredible. The guided tour with Ranger "waa

Sally Gombocz

I went as a chaperone for my sons class and had a great experience there. I learned a lot and would recommend it to anyone.

Kathryn James

Awesome adventure worth the effort but a lot of skinny curvy roads to get there and a lot of stairs and hills, more strenuous hiking than average. Very educational and fun for the entire family even on a rainy day. Remember warmer clothes for inside cave.

natasha

Lived in cave junction all my child hood loved going there great place.

kathy bevan

What a fun adventure for the whole family. It rained the day I was there and everyone still had a great time.

Andreas Suter

The 90-minute tour of the caves was fun and the guide was really knowledgeable. More technical of a tour than Carlsbad but not bad at all.

Gary A

Loved the walk through these amazing caves! Tour guide was very knowledgeable about the caves!

Peter LaBelle

Took the family tour. Really enjoyed interaction between the ranger and young children on the tour. Cavern is well lit but cool. Be aware of restrictions if you or your clothes have ever been to other caves. The park is working to keep the bats in the cave healthy. If you don't reserve a spot ahead of time, stop at the Illinois Valley Visitor Center before driving to the cave. They can check to see if there are tour slots available for today, reserve spots, and sell you the tour ticket. That can save you from disappointment of driving to cave only to learn no tour slots are available.

Gopro bros

Nice place to learn about nature

Malinda Dilhara

Wonderful experience with guided tour

Christine Isabell

Ok for the cave goers this a great place. But its been turned into a tourist attraction..... pictures do the caves great justice size wise. Why all the obvious man made things? River sticks is cool...very.

Ethan McCord

This place is absolutely breathtaking. The cave is beautiful and well maintained by the park service to keep it as pristine and natural as possible. Our tour guide was really positive with the group and very accommodating to any needs that arose. The history behind the caves is fascinating, and learning about the formation and how much is still being researched was awesome.

Terrell Stevens

Interesting history behind the cave's discovery. Beautiful formations; the guides are excellent.

Thomas Hicks

These were the first caves I've been in and I absolutely loved it! The caverns were breathtaking and really make you think about how long it took for all the different formations to form. I want to come back at some point to do the off trail tour and explore the caves further!

Larkin Brown

A must for all family adventures. But bring a sweat shirt cuz its a little chilly in there.

Bryan Lange

Fun tour and great tour guides. Both funny and informative

John Stuckrath

I've been here a few times a couple decades ago and had a blast. Aboit a minth ago I took my girlfriend here for her first time and we both had an amazing time. The ranger that guided us really knew a lot about the cave systems and made the walk through a lot of fun. I will recommend this place to anybody anytime, no questions asked. This national monument is beautiful inside and out.

Nancy Smith

Disappointed. Had hoped to access tour of caves. Not for handicapped. Didn't like me parking in handicapped slot with VW camper van. Sad. Cafe was great. Friendly people in kitzy atmosphere of 40's & 50's. Great shakes.

carol carmona

Breathe taking had the grandkids so they did a little mini tour in caves and told the story how caves were found and how loyal a person can be

Sharon Baughman

Beautiful place to hike even if you don't take the cave tour.

Stanley Goddard

Love this place..the guided tours are so informative and the rangers really make it fun and interesting.

John J Mendrin

Ranger that’s older and retired rock scientist was the best! Worth the tour! And funny!

Laura Kuhn

Great little tour, make reservations in advance. The resort hotel is closed so not much to do here except a few short hikes and the cave tour. Nice visitors center with lots of swag.

Tonsina Wells

Really enjoyed the caves, great little hike in the dark, fun for the kids. However, they really needed to kill off some of the hornets and wasps, as they were actually harassing the guests while we were going through the tour preview. Note: if you hike a lot of caves, only 1 pair of shoes per cave so the bats don't get sick.

Brady Hight

Exceptional. Every aspect of the stay was a pleasure. The cave tour was fascinating. The downstairs diner was just great. I wish I could go there every Sunday for lunch! The cozy room was such a joy to stay in. We were on the top floor and had a lovely view. The surrounding hikes were pleasant and had some nice variety of lengths and difficulty. The fine dining restaurant made for a very nice end to our day. The lodge itself is truly an incredible place inside and out, beautiful really. Every member of the staff was excellent. My expectations were well exceeded. Expensive but worth it. I hope to visit again someday.

laney hantz

If you have not been here do yourself a favor and go and buy a ticket for a tour. That you are guys are awesome and so knowledgeable they can answer any question that you have for them. The caves are amazing it's super fun relatively easy and short for a quick trip. There's so much to do here if you have more time. There are several different hikes you can take and you can also do an extended tour of sorts where you take a Trail that you need to climb and use ropes and helmets and jumpsuits for. Whether it's a date or you're taking your family on a vacation, this is a must visit for Central Oregon.

Sharon Spagel

This review is not for Oregon Caves...it is for Big Cat World in Cave Junction... Amazing, wonderful, and humane. These cats are pampered and up close and personal. Very cool and well cared for. The tour guides interact with the group and cats, to a certain extent, giving everyone as much knowledge about each species circumstances and behaviors as possible. They also breed there and some times the babies are shared to the public. It's a bit pricey @ $15 each but I've been 3 times and plan to go again. It's a go to spot for friends and family when visiting the area.

Angelic Watkins

If you are a cave Enthusiast than this is an absolute must. dress warm the interior of the cave is 44 degrees. This is by far the most difficult cave terrain to navigate that I've been on. That being said it's completely doable. Just be prepared for over 500 stairs and very low hanging walls down to 45 in. So it is a bit of a workout but there's lots of breaks in between. beautiful hikes surrounding the caves are there as well for people who do not choose to go inside the cave. There is also a chateau that was built in 1932 that is still operating that you can stay in. for those with trailers there's a campground about 2 or 3 miles away from the cave entrance. had I known all this we would have considered spending an entire day here and staying at the Chateau for sure, as there is a lot more history to this place than meets the eye. Definitely add this to your to-do list when going to Oregon.

Laura Bynum

Please more low lite??

Dennis Dorsey

Tour was good. The walking tour does have some challenging steps without hand rails. But they tell you so be prepared if you have iffy knees or balance issues.

Sm0l Tac0

It's a cave. I don't know what you expected

Chris Shenk

Visited early on a Monday morning and did not have reservations; ended up waiting about an hour to take the tour. The drive up is quite curvy, and climbs up to 4000' rather quickly. There is plenty of parking right next to the monument entrance. It is 44°f inside the cave at all times, so don't forget to dress warm. The staff are very friendly and informative. The entire monument is clean and well kept. The gift shop had some nice items, and had an interactive educational area. The tour was beautiful and peaceful, and gave the feeling of being in another world. The tour did take longer than expected and has many flights of stairs. Overall I would definitely recommend visiting!

Jill Harwell

Great long 1.5 hour hike. 44degrees so bring a jacket. Really good guide, very informative. If you are close, try and go. It is worth the drive.

Chad Anderson

Awesome National Park fully worth the preservation efforts! Totally rare cave system naturally formed in marble. Stalactites, stalagmites, bats, and an underground river. Must see. Bring a jacket for the tour (44°f) led by an actual park ranger. Walking and hiking trails, gift shop, beautiful scenery.

Jeremy Taylor

Amazing tour! A must for Southern Oregon.

Kimberly Cruse

Interesting and entertaining tour with Ranger Neil! Lucky to have gotten him as our guide. The caves were beautiful. Visit this Nat'l monument!!

David L

Very interesting place

Mark South

Seen one cavern you basically seen them all.

Matthew Sandra Moore

A national monument because it is unique. Great long 1.5 hour hike. 44degrees so bring a jacket. Really good guide, very informative. If you are close, try and go. It is worth the drive.

Lorene Potts

Ranger Cheryl was awesome

Nicol Robinson

The guided tour was amazing! Thank you Rob for escorting us through the caves

Pat Baird

Interesting place, didn't partake in cave hike, bad knee injury day before, but next time..

Linda Dornan

. I have been there a couple of times that cater is very unique you can go hiking after you're done with the tour they've got a really really nice shop they've got an awesome dinner house the rangers are superb really a place you should be able to take your family and really have a good time.

Mike Manzella

The tour was great!! I took my 7 and 6 year old and the path was fairly easy to navigate for us. It definitely gets cold inside the cave so bundle up

Jasmine Cano

Had a great time exploring the Oregon Caves with our tour guide. Would've loved to do the off-trail cave tour if I had visited on a weekend. Bring a warm jacket! It gets chilly! Will definitely be back to do the off-trail tour!

Ken Kligerman

A stupendous natural wonder. Hike to the top of the mountain after you come out of the tour. It’s worth it for the view.

Patrick Wright

Fun, informative and good exercise.

Jon Augelli

Excellent monument. We did the candlelight tour and the normal tour and both were great and different enough to justify doing both. The camp grounds there were excellent too

Rajendra Momaya

A good experience.... visiting Oregon caves national park

Vanessa Alexandra

Our guide for the Discovery Tour was so passionate and endearing. He got everyone involved in the process of exploring the caves, and had such a wealth of knowledge to share with us. On a separate note, the milkshakes at the chateau here are TO DIE FOR. Get a hazelnut chocolate shake. I promise you will not regret it.

Miranda Molea

One of my favorite places.

Angelina Shimmel

Nice people and amazing scenery! Althought it is definitely a vacation road trip kind of place, I would definitely put it on your list.

Leon Phifer

If you haven't visited a cave before or want another one to go to, this would be a good one. A lot of good stories and information told by the guide (our guide was Chaz). Just so you know, you will have to stoop to the size of an 8 year old occasionally and climb a good number of stairs but it was worth the trip.

Mandy Erickson

Beautiful place with amazing guides. I go almost ever year. Love the view from the easy hike up.

Traci Yoshitomi

Had a great time with my daughter and grandson . Be sure to bring a jacket , very cold in the caves even in summer !

Genevieve Golden

We had a great time walk in caves. This is a great to visit for family.

Ray Osi

Awesome people, wonderful guide, thank you so much Neil... such a great land mark to see!! Looking forward to be able to do the off trail guide through the caves!!

Brent Wood

It's definitely something you want to see at least once. There's nothing like it anywhere around. It's not like the books. I'm a big dude and I was able to get through the caves. I'm middle-aged too. There is over 500 steps. There are two parking lots. The first parking lot looks like the right parking but it's not. Go to the second parking lot is a lot closer to the caves.

Amber Cook

We were able to get a private flashlight tour when we stopped by in the spring. It was pretty chilly and the area still had snow. We loved the cave though! The formations were amazing and our guide incredibly knowledgeable.

John Tevault

First time in a cave, and I loved the experience! Very well guided tour by Cody.

Parker Loughmiller

Fantastic and educational tour!

Clint Bissell

Even better than I remember as a kid! Breathtaking and very well maintained.

Abel Coffey

The caves are awesome

Leonard Wilson

I've had a number of cave experiences in my life. I've slept in the dynamited caves and repelled down +75' drops in order to reach the lower "rainbow room." I've done the casual day hike through the Ape cave of Mt. St Helens. This experience at the oregon caves is wonderful and informative and a great "family"/beginner type of experience. Regardless of your level of caving experience, it is a lot of fun and they provide opportunities for everyone (see the different signups on their website). What to expect: The pathway is well lit for enjoyment and safety however I would still recommend a headlamp depending on the tour you choose. It is about 42° F inside year round, so dress warmly and prepare for the wet of a cave. Boots are a good idea but not absolutely necessary--the pathway has concrete covering the otherwise smooth stone floor. Kids have to be at least 42" tall; be sure to check heights because they don't make exceptions. It is a lot of climbing up stairs and light inclines. Although you don't have to lift yourself, your legs will get tired if you aren't in fair shape. One last thing to know, your clothes cannot have previously gone through a cave because of possible spore contamination. Please protect this cave system.

Andrew Shumway

Outstanding tour through some pretty amazing caves. The tour requires many steps and sometimes ducking under ceilings as low as 48". Definitely worth the trip. DO NOT wear any clothing that you have previously worn in any caves or underground areas since 2005. They will make you go change. There is an invasive species of fungi that has killed millions of bats in the US & Canada and they are trying to prevent it from spreading into this cave system.

Michelle Colbath

Cool caves. The guy that took us in was very informative.

Joel Kelmen

great tour, informative, friendly and amazing cave.

M Nilsson

Beautiful, relatively inexpensive for a fun educational time, some small caves to crawl/scoot through if you take the 0.7 mile loop back at the end of the regular tour

Victoria H

Great place if you're into caves or not! It's a beautiful area. We learned a few new tidbits about caves, our ranger/guide was great! These are the only marble caves in Oregon! I highly recommend!

Dustin Ashliegh

Great 90 minute tour.

Carol Roberts

Very interesting and Beautiful! History!❤

Amanda Smith

My kids loved the caves, super informative! It's a great adventure for anyone!

Gary Peschka

Great place to visit. The road up is winding and can be slow. Took the cave tour. The guide was very informative and entertaining. Need to be able to bend a little to get through some spots. There are several trails you can hike on outside the caves.

Ayla Eve Christian

One of my favorite Oregon experiences. I absolutely loved the caves and there were great souvenirs in the gift shop.

Robert Barrett

Clean, beautiful, interesting, and cheap. The wilderness envelops you in an ecosystem lush w vegetation and wildlife.

Nicole Plank

My 6 year old and I had a blast! Really fun and lots to see. Beautiful all around and nice staff.

Ed Lee

Great hiking, different caves tours to take like the candlelight tour, and a remote in the woods experience.

Christina Fredriksen

The park ranger was amazing a d very informative! The cave was amazing!

Jess Mendenhall

Really historic and interesting place

Bronwyn Watson

We had an amazing day here exploring. We arrived early on a holiday weekend, at 10 am, and we waited only a half an hour for a tour without a reservation. Everyone was extremely hospitable and the tour was great value at 1.5h for 10$. Our ranger was fun and had a host of bad jokes, and he let us dawdle even though it made us run late. There are some really spectacular formations here that are well preserved and impressive. The surrounding area boasts an impressive infrastructure including an expansive chalet with a truly historic feel. A beautiful, rustic hotel with 25 rooms which has been maintained and restored authentically. There is great meal options available here aswell, milkshakes were delicious. Finally, the hiking trails are relaxing and a great way to work off the meal you will inevitably devour. Thank you so much for an amazing anniversary celebration. We felt like little kids again, had so much fun exploring.

Lisa

Definitely a place to go!!!! Got to see

Sara Bruce

This is an amazing place to experience. The rangers are very friendly and knowledgable. The caves have some areas that are rather small which made it more enjoyable for me. It makes it feel like you're actually exploring instead of just taking a tour.

Glenn Woodbury

I grew up in the valley and this is one of the most spectacular attractions in Oregon and in fact, the whole United States!

Raven Smith

Great camping And lots to see

Jimmy Bledsoe

Great time. Been twice now.

Kitty Marsh

A very nice place to visit. They have tours for a ages. After the cave tour, my husband and I were able to hike up the mountain which houses the cave.

Angi B.

Our guide was amazing!

Lore Gonzales

Beautiful I took my granddaughter's there so they can experience what I did when I was a child it was amazing making memories

Matteo Doni

We visited on a Saturday afternoon without having made a reservation. When we arrived there were no tours available. Spectacular and fun hairpin bend drive up to the attraction. Friendly and helpful staff. If you go to the diner in the cheateaux the ice cream root beer float is good.

Gerald Burton

Great. If you've never toured caves, but isn't up to par to Laure (sp?) Caves in VA or Ruby Falls (yes, it's in caves) in Chatanooga. TN.

Yvonne Sullivan

Great tours, beautiful scenerie and reasonable prices

Nicole Kelly

Beautiful nature and great tours. The actual caves are unlike anything over seen before.

Chris Yost

Well worth the time to take the tour.

Alexa Dumas

Very cool place to visit. Tour guides are lively and kind. Walk through the caves is about 1 mile. Lots of up and down, stairs, and low hanging rocks. You must crouch to 45 inches at one point. Interesting and fun to go through, and not too strenuous. Many trails and other options after cave tour. Would recommend.

Marc Halstead

This attraction is well worth the effort to visit. We did rent a room and stay the night here, dining in the hotel restaurant. A notable experience, I must say.

Jennifer Williams

Definitely worth the very windy drive up the mountain. The tour is worth the price you pay. Make sure to bring a jacket if you're taking the tour.

It was beautiful. Well worth the $10 to take the tour. Better than we expected. The walking trails are great also.

I've been on several different cave tours in different states but this was one of my favorites. The winding and weaving through the cave makes you feel like you're exploring it and not just on boring flat walk through it. The guide was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Wonderful guide & amazing cave tour. Very cool!

Oregon Caves was a good fun experience. Note that you can only enter the cave with a tour guide. We got lucky with a small tour group and an exceptionally knowledgeable guide. I felt the well maintained man made path and lighting detracted from the actual cave. They talk about preserving wildlife and nature while you are on a concrete path with fixed lighting installed in the rocks. The actual cave is year around 44F so be sure to bring warm cloths even in the hottest days of summer. You are welcome to bring cameras or cell phones but tripods or bags are not allowed.

A long and winding road leads you to a marble-ous hole in the ground, and some nice hiking trails. Make sure you wear clothes and shoes that haven't been underground in five years, literally! -- to prevent the spread of a bat-killing fungus that even washing your clothes doesn't kill.

Great 1 1/2 hour tour through an easy cave lighted cave thats good for anyones first time. They also have a 3+ hour tour that they will gear you up with head lamps and has some tunnels to army crawl through. There are many hiking trails available. Very informative and funny guide! I learned a lot :)

Totally under rated and a must see even if you have to go out of your way to get here!
