REVIEWS OF Olympic National Park IN Oregon

Tom Banks, one of the National Park Rangers, was wonderfully helpful with my husband and I. We first listened to his informational talk and later asked for help with hikes. Thank you Tom Banks!

Matt Larsen

This is a Rustic and Wild national park. It is spectacular in the it is ocean side to mountain side. A great place to discover but a Bad place if you need amenities. And good golly, please do not litter here. If you Must smoke, hang onto your butts and throw them out in a can somewhere. But if fresh air is what you crave, this place Rocks!

Kristi Studer

Beautiful park with so many areas to explore! This is my third time visiting a different area and know there are so many more great trails to hike!

Minh

Beautiful, scenic, gigantic park. Would take days to see everything. I only went up to Hurricane Ridge and it was gorgeous up there. Hiked Klahhane Ridge Trail.

Sarah Kirk

There is a reason why this park is in the top five of the most frequented national parks. Wildlife is everywhere you look, the trees are old, and tower over everything. Seeing the mist above the Cascades after waking up from a day of backpacking has got to be one of the most satisfying feelings ever. Cannot wait to explore more of the park.

Tiffany Ek

There's so much to see and do in Olympic National Park! Camping, hiking, fishing, beach combing, sightseeing and exploring! Stop by friendly ranger station for information.

John Johnson

A national treasure. The drive is incredible. Awesome views.

Jonah Flick

Great park. Hiked ho river trail and 7 lake basin trail. Saw 8 bears on the 7 lake basin trail so carry bear spray. I'd love to come back here to do more

Caitlin Kinsey

Camping at second beach was amazing. Be sure to wear good hiking shoes and bring everything you need in your pack. You also need a backwoods permit to camp overnight. I will definitely be back! Great atmosphere for kids and adults but no pets are allowed.

Estel Meeks

The trails through the forest are simply stunning! Get here early for good parking! Ruby beach is just breathtaking! An hour goes by here very quickly! Huge park so it takes all day to drive around it!

Hattie Yang

Mount storm king is a difficult but very rewarding hike! Almost 2000 feet of elevation gain in 2.1 miles is no joke. Bring plenty of water, good boots or shoes, and some gloves if you're planning on doing the rope climb past the end of the maintained trail

Diana Chaloux - LaCerte

So many beautiful hikes. With only one day it was hard to decide where to go! We chose Sol Duc Falls, Marymere Falls and Hurricane Ridge. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. If its clear out, make sure you make time to hike at Hurricane Ridge. Insanely beautiful!!

Martin Frasch

Everything I imagined: magnificent and easy to explore. Beware that cell reception will be spotty at times. Download your Google map of the area ahead of time.

Lisa Sutherland

The Hoh Rainforest is magical and a must see. However, it's best to get there early because the crowds really put a damper on the experience. There are a few short trails and one up to 18 miles. There is a $30 entrance fee which is good for a week.

Liz Welch

It's just a truly beautiful place. We don't live nearby but will definitely be making our way back in the next few years.

Becca Robison

Beautiful and unique to the Pacific Northwest. If you only go to one Visitor Center of Olympic this should be it. The river is sooo blue! And the forest is so "luscious" as my boyfriend put it.

Rey Sales

Loved visiting the national park. It is huge and should gas up at every station you encounter cuz they are spread ver far apart. Views are awesome. Must visit place.

Adam Wunsch

In my top 3 favorite national parks. There's something to do and see all year round.

Marc Breitenstein

Best beaches in Washington hands down. We stayed in a cabin at Kalaloch and every day we tried a new beach. I will try this again next year for sure.

kevdwiz

Cool place and very beautiful however it is crawling with people like ants on a fallen ice cream cone. Not the place to find serenity and your nature spirit animal. Very rude tourists per the usual, walk in front of pictures and such $35 to get in but it lasts a week which is cool

Cece Lee

It's good for people who like hiking. I like driving so missed a lot of nice view.

Mugunthan M

Great place to enjoy the nature. Lot of trails to do hiking and lakes to enjoy. We loved the Rialto beach. Hoh rain forest is also nice place to visit, full of thick green tress. Best place to relax in summer for those who love nature.

Nick Johnston

So many wonderful hikes and adventures that cater to novice and experienced hikers.

Axel ulen

As a boy scout years ago I hiked and fished a good majority of the trails in and streams in the park. All three portions of this park need to be enjoyed: the mountains. the Coastal Park and the Rain Forests. I've never enjoyed such all around beauty anywhere as I've enjoyed in the Olympic National Park.

Joseph Mintz

This place is absolutely amazing! Though if your going down the coast you should be at least in some form of shape. There is some rope sections that are a bit challenging and some creeks that are not passable if it rains. Definently check the weather forecast, grab a tide chart and topographical map, and check in at the ranger station before you attempt this hike. Also, from personal experience bring some food you don't need to cook and a water purifier.

Sandy Lawrence

Beautiful forest and awesome mountains. The rain forest in one if the very few left.

nitin kaneja

Olympic National Park is an American national park located in the State of Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula . The park has four regions: the Pacific coastline, alpine areas, the west side temperate rainforest and the forests of the drier east side. Within the park there are three distinct ecosystems which are subalpine forest and wildflower meadow, temperate forest, and the rugged Pacific coast.

Heather Saturday

This park is absolutely beautiful with so much to see and do! My fiancé and I typically stay at the Kalaloch Lodge whenever we come out to visit. Its a lodge with cabins set on an ocean bluff! The park itself boasts a temperate rainforest, hot springs, beaches, multiple lakes, campsites, RV sites, and various lodges! It is also home to some of the largest trees, of certain kinds, in the world! Definitely won't be able to experience the entire park in one day. However, if you live in the area it is a great way to get away for the weekend or even just a day. So many place to get lost in and find peace.

Trina K

Great June visit. The park was beautiful the foliage was vibrant green. The park office had friendly knowledgable Rangers with maps and souvenirs available. Clean restrooms and clearly marked trails. Parking your vehicle can be a challenge during peak hours. So ho early in the day, enjoy!

Peter Baenziger

Make the drive around the peninsula, planning half to full day excursions inward at several areas to experience the many biomes of this dramatic landscape. Gate fee as of 6/2019 is $30 and is good for one vehicle at any entrance for 7 days. Would recommend for those with strollers or wheelchairs as has a surprising number of accessible trails leading to beautiful sites.

Jennifer Herrmann

An amazing variety of stunning vistas! Truly beautiful places to bring the whole family!

William Hudson

An unbelievable and eye opening experience to see what we have in our own back yard. We flew in from Georgia and have spent the last three days in awe of this park.

Time_to_Review

Prepared to hike a lot because just seeing one section of this park is not enough. It's stunning and worth a backpacking adventure.

Mohammad Elahinia

We traveled from Seattle to Port Angeles and then to the Hurricane Ridge visitor's center. The three hour was well worth it. In early fall you can see snow at the peak along with breathtaking senary. On one side you can see a range of mountains and in the other side the water. If you have more time you can enjoy several walking trails.

Adriann Hardin

One of the most amazing NP we have been too. We loves hurricane ridge. Be careful on the west side of the park there is nothing from North to South and it is a long drive

Bob Massey

Wow! We hiked to Hurricane Ridge. Saw deer, marmots, chipmunks and other hikers. When the clouds parted, it was spectacular. Suggest walking daily for 7 days at least 3 miles each day. Visit the visitor center for up to minute information. Happy Hikeing.

Harald Ringbauer

Not as stunning as other nearby National parks, but that is critique at extremely high level. Long drives but usually worth it, the coastal rain forest is amazing.

Mrs Mardis

We loved so many aspects of Olympic National Park! We loved Ruby Beach, Hoh Rainforest, and Hurricane Ridge!!! I wish we had time for more in this national park, but we had to finish our coastal drive of highway 101 and highway 1. I would love to go back and explore more here!

Thomas Stanko

Olympic was beautiful! Larger than we had anticipated but, that made it exciting. We only had a day there but, we'll be back for sure.

Katie Hosaflook

This national park has stolen my heart! Words cannot describe how beautiful and majestic it is. I almost felt like I was walking in a real life fairy tail. Everything is picture perfect and if you look close enough you realize you are surrounded by the animals of the Forest! Birds, Elk, sea lions, whales to name a few. I cannot wait until I can return to explore others parts of the park

This place has some of the most beautiful scenery in America. There really isn't a bad time of the year to visit, winter to summer, each season has its unique scenes. I love how so many of the smaller roads will have a complete tree canopy over the road. The lakes and beach fronts are breathtaking. There are many trails to hike and waterfalls to see. Two of my favorite places are Cape Flattery and Crescent Lake. When visiting you should plan additional days to your trip because there are so many attractions to see.

Ricardo Coto Oviedo

I love hanging around this area and camping in the many places available. I keep coming back here for the nature and the lovely trips around.

John Kowalski

Such a beautiful place with vast diversity of natural beauty. Spend a few days here and get to Hurricane Ridge, the beaches, and the rain forest. Make sure you watch the sunset from second beach if you're able to hike, or first beach if you just want to be able to drive up to it. #AmericasBestIdea

I love how friendly and informative the rangers have been on both of our visits. They showed us exactly where was appropriate to take our young ones hiking and eagerly shared the Junior Ranger books to keep them engaged during the drive.

Lucy Phillips

Visiting Hurricane Ridge was an outstanding experience today. The park, road, and trails are well-maintained and clean. Mother Nature is the best part. The views and ecosystems to be observed are other-worldly.

Raeanne Myers

Beautiful views! We stopped during lunch hour on our way back from the Hoh and were told no one was around to fix my friends a drink. We asked one server if they could help but she said she was too busy. We waited 20 minutes and ended up at Billy's in Aberdeen. Great service and we didn't have to wait!

Timothy Fleming

Great views. Great hiking about 2 hours outside of Seattle. More hiking trails than you could think about covering in 6 months. Great views the the bay and ocean at points. Even into Canada.

Sam Red Tale

Because it's location is next to the ocean, & the view is Breath taking.

Audrey Burney

Beautiful place. The Sol Duc hot springs were relaxing. The hiking trails nearby were great.

Whoever thought that we would see salmon swimming up-stream, actually I guess it was a river, so they could lay their eggs and spawn. It was so interesting we had to stop again on the way down just two take another look, and sure enough the scene had already changed and it was a new photo opportunity. I was wanting to get to the temperate rainforest. Although it's a little like the Redwood forest in California it is a slightly different ecosystem. Do you make sure you make this part of your travels if you go to Washington State.

Michelle Duong

So many beautiful ecosystems to see. I'm lucky I had someone relent to going and spending more time driving on vacation than they wanted, but we agreed it was worth it. Even the drive was beautiful. The air felt and smelled soothing. I want to go back!

Matt Larsen

Awe-inspiring experience where I photo doesn't do the beauty justice. My visit was during mid-October and was nice and crisp with leaves falling.

Hope Lohmar

I have had a great time going through the park. Meeting new people from other countries. Then taking the walks to the different waterfalls relaxes me!! I just love taking a deep breath and inhaling the fresh air.

Roguegunn Works

Anywhere in the park can be magical. It is a precious place that must be seen to truly experience. A must see and explore.

Alyssa Bowers

Seriously most beautiful place to I’ve ever been. Do Yourself a favor and drive around the whole park. Stop at as many trails as you can. Make sure you get to the beaches too. Absolutely amazing.

Raymond Savaria

You would need a month to see it all but see what you can. We spent 5 days in the area. Love it all. Hoh Rain Forest, Hot Springs, and so many coastal beaches.

Douglas Slachter

This particular park has some wonderful things to see. Giant trees, so much nature, well-maintained trails, and kind rangers. The only reason for the 4 stars is because of the cost. It is $30 per vehicle, or $100 for a year pass. This seems a bit excessive given that they are already funded through taxes and are a very large part of the Department of the Interior. Nonetheless, it is worth visiting if you get the chance.

Christopher Byrd

This is one of the most beautiful parks in the United States, with countless trails, beaches, mountains, and even rainforest! There are trails for all skill levels. Hurricane Ridge is a great place to start.

Angie M

You have to love our national parks thank you Abraham Lincoln! It is amazing to go to an area that has been untouched and preseved from humans. I totally understand about the dogs rule it's still kind of stinks though

Tin Man

I love it up here. Been working here for 30 years + ,cutting down some of the finest trees in the world.

Richard Ledgerwood

Such an AWSOME place so much to see and do.

Priscilla Wood

Long drive up into the mountains from Port Angeles. It was overcast but the blue sky opened as we arrived at the visitors center. Seniors: bring your Golden Eagle pass as this is a national park.

Robert Szakal

The park is beautiful. I will say it is a bit steep at $25.00 to just ride to the top ( Hurricane Ridge) look around and then ride back down. The park service is making Bank on that road there.

Jim Johnson

Hurricane ridge. Pretty cool place. Trails we did were pretty easy and paved.

Ryan Bemis

I love it there!! One of the only places you can start out on the beach. 30 minutes later be in old growth forest. For the outdoors types that area is a must. There are several campgrounds that are first come first serve. Lakes, waterfalls, several rivers, and miles of coast line.

Ron Castaneda

Beautiful park, you could spend a few weeks just hiking throughout the rugged terrain. I'm very happy I got to see it with my own eyes.

dementia paul

I see all these beautiful photo but I go & I don't see not one thing that I see on the photos online.

Michael Ward

This is one of the most beautiful national parks I have ever visited. The hikes provide every range of difficulty from small child friendly to extremely hard. A must visit.

Trevor Huffman

The views were great and there are several places to stop and take in the sights. When you get up on the trails, there are miles of views unspoiled by trails, roads, telephone poles, or anything man made.

Megan Mundt

We spent the afternoon in the Hoh Rain forest. It was incredible. There are no pictures that could really capture it. Really easy "hiking" on the shorter trails for really incredible views.

Joy Aster

What isn't to love? It is gorgeous! The only issue was people being rambunctious and loud, but that is their prerogative.

JOHN LOCKE

Love Olympic National Park so many places to go and do things to do love the views

Chef Linda Burns

Stunning views! An absolute must see. The trees are huge and magnificent. It's a breathtaking experience. Hall of Mosses was incredible, although the trail was a bit crowded with families and young children. If you are looking for serenity, explore some of more challenging trails.

Livin with the Higg's

Come on it's a national park people and the only rainforest in North America!

Michelle Duong

So many beautiful ecosystems to see. I'm lucky I had someone relent to going and spending more time driving on vacation than they wanted, but we agreed it was worth it. Even the drive was beautiful. The air felt and smelled soothing. I want to go back!

jolynn oerlemans

This is an awesome forest! I loved every single day we visited here! So much to do and so many hikes weather you're an advance hiker or your interested in a short hike.

Jennifer Ragde

Very picturesque. Nice trails. The bathrooms at the visitors center however were absolutely filthy. If I could have washed myself in Purell, I would have.

Jeanmarie Boben

Amazing. TIP: This is a tempered rainforest. Expect it to rain. That’s what happens in rainforests. If you can time it — sunny moments make this place shine.

Rabia Effendi

Absolutely gorgeous place to spend the long weekend. Went on the 4th of July weekend and despite the incoming traffic, this place was amazingly delightful. The visitor centers are very well managed with clean rest rooms and helpful information desks. The hikes are extremely beautiful with the park’s wild life walking and running alongside. Saw goats and deers throughout our hike. Must take water and power bars on the hikes specially the harder and steep ones.

Rania Nehchiri

It was a mazing so much to see so much to do. We drove from Seattle for a day trip. If you go it's best to spend a night at Forks. Very cute town

Josh Mitarnowski

The most amazing place in Washington by far! It is 30 dollars for a seven day pass or 80 for an annual. If you plan on hitting multiple National Parks in a year it’s worth it to get the annual!

Darin Chilcote

I don't know what to say about this place other than this is one of the places you have to visit, be sure to check out the west side for the rain forest and there are plenty of waterfalls in the North Western portions that I explored

S.A. Shivram

Amazing national park with rain forests, best hiking trails, the amazing crescent lake, lot of beaches and amazing trees and rain

kendra kay

As always, stunning! Enjoyed many hikes to spectacular view points. The Visitor Center has a great gift shop, food, and bathrooms, as well as maps and helpful volunteers.

Jennifer Vonderwell

A real gem of the northwest with great diversity and varied landscapes. Trails are in Great condition and easy travel around the park. Very limited ranger programs compared to other parks. Wilderness dominates the park.

Orianna Snook

Absolutely gorgeous! We had a lovely picnic at the Visitor Center with the most amazing view. Nice trails for brief stroll for those unable to hike heavily.

Jennifer Weiss

An amazing and unique forest filled with magic and something new around every ancient corner! Absolutely amazing!!!!

Joe Spadea

An amazing wonder! Amazing scenery around every turn. The park is very diversified from Second Beach to the Hoh Rainforest to Sol Duc Falls and Hurricane Ridge. You can spend a week there and never see the same thing twice. The park staff is amazing! They work hard to make sure you enjoy the visit.

Brenton Clive

Beautiful park with tons of variety. Coastal hikes, rain forests, and a whole heck of a lot of solitude away from civilization. Definitely a park to visit.

Ryanne Jones

Omg, everything is so green and lush! Lots of parking. The trails are clear and easy to follow with directional and informational signs. I wish I could live here.

Lindsey Nigh

Love the plant varieties and atmosphere. Everyone should visit this park, expect lots of driving! Totally worth every minute!

Gary Rundblad

I've seen so little of the area, but am so impressed with it's beauty; the mountains, trees and streams. It wasn't designated a national park for nothing!

Aditya Rao

An amazing place to visit on the Pacific coast. Sunsets on the beaches are truly beautiful. Weather can be tricky at higher elevations, but other areas and the lake regions are good to visit anytime.

Brett Lewis

Great Trails and Beautiful Nature. Trees and surroundings are amazing. Moss and Spruce trails go by quick.

Ron Barnes

Wide open wild country. Need to hike and camp deep into its interior to really see it. Prepare to drive a lot to get to different locations. Saw herds of elk in Hoh area.

Verla Gomez

It was very nice very easy to walk for young children only had issues with other visitors that weren't very discreet about their personal affection for each other in public because I had my children

Bradley Kramer

Plenty of long and short hikes in the forest. Find a nice camping spot and spend a few days there if you've never been out to the peninsula. Easy access to see the coast and on the west side you're 30 minutes away from Forks if you need a Twilight fix lol

Rod Koenig

Must see: 1st Beach Trail if Burl Trees, Tree of Life at Kalaloch beach, Big Cedar trees near Kalaloch, Ruby Beach all along a 15 minute driving stretch along the WA coast. Truly Awesome and unique wonders!!! "Westbird5" on YouTube

Ellie S

By far the most AMAZING National Park I've ever been to. The Pacific Northwest is simply stunning and offers so much to see and do. Hurricane Ridge is a must see while you're here in addition to Hoh National Rainforest and Ruby Beach. I cannot wait to come back and I highly recommend these three places when visiting this National Park.

Jacob C

This place is absolutely gorgeous. I thank the National Parks System everyday for keeping such beautiful places safe!

Zach Pieper

We spent 4 days hiking many areas within the park - it was the most physically exhausting vacation we'd taken, but loved every minute of it. A most amazing National Park.

Sheila Harrison

If it not for the road work it would be a perfect 5 stars.. but it is BEAUTIFUL! I never get tired of driving around that lake!

TerraSue Brittell

We camped here and found the area absolutely beautiful! The water was warmer than expected and the campground was quiet and relaxed.

Justin DeNike

Absolutely beautiful, I am so happy to have a place like this that's close and so well taken care of, whenever we are out we see people from all over that have come to the park to visit and see what it has to offer

cheri rokas

Very green and lush. Beautiful trees and greenery. Took 5 kids to the Hot Springs ages 2-12 they loved it. Didn't explore or see the waterfall we only had plans on going to the Hot Springs. Bring lots of money it's not cheap.

Larae S

Olympic national park has become one of my favorite places in the world. So serene and beautiful. Cant wait to come back.

JamesPlays

Put this Park on your list! It's an absolute national treasure and must be experienced by all.

Uriel Grey

One of my absolute favorite places on earth! What more could you ask for! Beautiful natural trees, native plants and animals and amazing walking paths! Looking for awesome mosses and mushroom

Elizabeth Feldman

Absolutely breathtaking. But I think I was visiting the Olympic park via boat fishing with Excel Fishing Charters. Excellent captain by the way

Edward Luck

Great place to just get lost and wander it was so worth going to check out. There is a wide range to explore. It's a great place to just clear your mind let your thoughts just wither away. Beautiful place and lots of wild life to come ac-crossed . I can't wait to go back to explore more of its pleasantries.

Road Kill

This place was absolutely gorgeous! We only explored the hall of moss but there is much more to see

Monica A

Beautiful area stayed for 3days. Just don't bring your pets they can't go on any trails. We couldn't go hiking we had 2 dogs with us. Ruined our trip. NO NATIONAL PARKS allow pets in trails. People let their dogs off leash and if the dog runs into a bear....well guess where the dog is going to run back too...YOU with the bear in tow. Not good. Leave pets home so you can have a Great time it is worth it. Usually leave mine with a dog sitter which I will do next time again. Learned my lesson.

Nancyraymac

So much to do and see here. Hurricane Ridge on a clear day is spectacular! Then drive to the Hoh Rainforest, Have a picnic at the ocean, Rialto Beach day park, is super cool beach with surf pounding waves! Or Lake Cresent Lodge, has beautiful grounds and a nice restaurant. So many things to do and see!

Macayla Han

Beautiful area. Must go if visiting Washington!

Keith Worman

Backpacking in the Mink Lake area during unexpectedly clear late October weather produced the best Fall colors seen in years.

Mirka Hernandez

Different from any national park I’ve explored. The smells, the moss, the tall trees, and all the water... definitely won me over.

Miriam Vandenburg

We just happened to pull over to stretch our legs and ended up here. It was lovely.

Daniel Fieldstone

Is that this part that I had my first bear encounter! The bear was quite far off so I didn’t really get a good picture of it. But hey let’s look at the bright sideAt least I am not that barest supper. This is a really really cool outdoors area this entire park it’s just absolutely phenomenal there’s so many memories that you’ll have when you go here and you just such a cool place to look at things. You can actually easily be on this trail for several days at a time living off of your back if you are prepared enough to do it.

Brett Sherman

It's a national park. Pay for an annual pass and enjoy parks all year long. Drive up to the top takes around 40 minutes on a good day. Totally worth the time. Great views and pleasant hiking. Entrance gate can be crowded on holiday weekends.

Karen N Cricket

Wow what an incredible experience. We found the heart of the forest! Absolutely worth the drive!

CAROLYN SMITH

Wonderful "forest bathing"! Great food at the lodge and a lovely lake with multiple activities. Love go back and spend a few days?

Nanae Kanada

This is an amazing park to visit and hike!! I recommend the Hurricane Ridge. You can go there by a car easily and there are rare mountain flowers!!

Mz Meeno

The park is so beautiful, even if you just drive through. It is definitely worth the trip.

Tracy Hahn

This is the first national park we've ever been to & we were not disappointed! Amazing amazing amazing! From high alpine forests to dry meadows to rainforests that get 12 feet of rain a year & look like a scene out of Avatar to rocky coastal beaches - all within the same park!!! If you go on their website & look at the alerts it's super easy to see any delays or construction, and you can easily plan your day around it. You pay $30 for a 7 day pass & I'd gladly pay double that to see what we saw. Simply amazing!

Harini Donthineni

Loved it. A great experience, watching the Hurricane ridge fully covered in mist.

Judy Ravencraft

Beautiful it nature. Great places to hike and awesome pictures. Love it

Miranda

It’s GORGEOUS. Do yourself a favor and hike the Hall of Mosses trail first, then hike the other mile-ish trail from the same trailhead (I think it’s called the cedar trail?). You can access the river from that trail— I have no words to describe the misty beauty of that river beach.

K Lee

Large and beautiful park with lots of different things to do. Mountains in the central part of the park have some long difficult trails as well as easier trails near the Hurricane Ridge visitor center. Lots of pretty lakes and waterfalls in the northern part of the park. Quiet rain forests and foggy beaches in the western part of the park. Give yourself at least a few days to see a little bit of everything. If you're driving, I advise choosing different accommodations in both the north and western or southern parts of the park since distances are large and you'll waste a lot of time driving if you spend all your nights in one area.

Danielle Mank

Olympic N.P. is probably the most gorgeous and wild place I've ever been. Such a lush rainforest, but here in the US and without all the venomous snakes and spiders! And it's right on this gorgeous coastline! Trip of a lifetime.

Nicole Winkle

So worth going to. So much to explore. It's a great place to rest your mind. Breathtaking views in so many areas. We hiked Hurricane ridge and can't wait to go back to explore more areas.

Vadim

Literally one of the most beautiful places I have ever set mine eyes upon. Gorgeous mountains, streams, and ancient trees.

Curtis Southard

I always love visiting our national parks. I grew up here and am still amazed every time I go play and I feel so blessed that I was born here and get to enjoy it as often as I want to

Jessica Izutsu

Absolutely love that we could drive up to this view... My mother was able to come along and get around with her knee scooter. We will definitely be coming back.

ray stechly

What a beautiful, diverse part of our great country. Coastal Washington has to be seen, not described, there are no words that can explain the harsh rugged coastline or the quiet, soft green rain forests. Truly a gift from the Almighty that has to be experienced in person....

rahul kodali

Wild and beautiful. Just go there and explore. So much to see, but access is limited. If you wanna go into wilderness, hiking and camping is the only way. Very unique place. The ocean is just few miles away from 8,000 feet glaciated peaks. Beautiful lakes and beaches around.

We enjoyed many locations around the Olympia peninsula road trip route and the park itself. One was their Hot Springs Resort, nothing like enjoying Hot Springs with a light mist and then light sprinkling rain perfect perfect for enjoying a soak. I've heard a lot of mixed things about the bathrooms. I find found them very clean if a bit busy. I could see how in the busier time of day or season this could get Beyond staff care, but it was in good conditions while we were there and it wasn't overly crowded either. We were there on Tuesday earlier in the day.

Dan Kochenderfer

Absolutely amazing park. We toured as much as we could in the few days we had. And we were not disappointed. Our favorite was Obstruction Point, and all the hiking we were able to do in the mountains. Our least favorite was the hike to PJ Lake. We loved the views and the lake when we got there, but wish the sign had warned how difficult the hike was going to be. My 8yr, 12yr and 15yr old daughters managed it, but the path is quite treacherous.

Lokesh Raizada

One of the best national parks in u.s. best part is you can get to view mountains, forests and beaches as well.

Chantelle Prejean

How do you describe one of the most beautiful places in the states? Photos cant even accurately capture the beauty. On our trip we saw elk, bald eagles, deer, birds, a bear, sea lions. We enjoyed the rainy days just as much as the sunny ones too. 10/10 going again!

Georgina Neave

Olympic National Park is spectacular. It is so diverse with Hurricane Ridge and the snow-capped mountain vistas and then the completely different entrance on the Pacific side into Hoh Rain Forest. See them both if you can, the experience is totally different. The Visitor Centers are well worth stopping for - good staff, friendly and helpful. Olympic NP is not to be missed.

David Dickman

I'd give it 5 stars if the visitor center had been staffed. (To be fair, we were here past their season.)

Abhijeet Kumar

Very beautiful place, we visited hoh rain forest and lake crescent, both are very beautiful places. Hoh rain forest visitor center has both small and long hikes and also a pic nic area. Lake crescent has a nice campground and good picnic area as well.

Linda Evans

Whoever thought that we would see salmon swimming up-stream, actually I guess it was a river, so they could lay their eggs and spawn. It was so interesting we had to stop again on the way down just two take another look, and sure enough the scene had already changed and it was a new photo opportunity. I was wanting to get to the temperate rainforest. Although it's a little like the Redwood forest in California it is a slightly different ecosystem. Do you make sure you make this part of your travels if you go to Washington State.

Katie Clute

I fell in love with this park from the first moment I arrived! Every time you turn a corner you get a breathtaking view and such and amazing experience. The range of habitats and ecosystems within the park is fantastic and I will need to spend at least a week here to take it all in! The park was easy to navigate and staff at each visitor center were always willing to help out!

Wendy Murphy

Simply stunning. A must see if you are visiting the area. If you love hiking and camping, this is the place for you. If you are a casual walker who loves nature, this is the place for you. If you just want to drive in your car and see gorgeous stuff, this is the place for you.

Ethan Hardacre

I'm always in support of our national parks, but this one is truly unique. The only landscape like it in the US, with moss covered trees and cool root structures formed by nurse trees (if you enter by the hoh river) and panoramic views of the whole park with snow capped mountains year round (if you go to the hurricane ridge visitors center). If you plan on doing the hurricane ridge trail check when it is opened because the parks service is in the middle of a multi-year maintenance project.

Vanessa Dixon

Had a great visit at loads of different places. Well worth the time spent hunting out the mountain ridges, waterfalls, hikes and beaches. Everything was amazing!

Ty Berg

We have been going to Olympic National Park for years. If you are new to the area it is a must-see.

Patty Capella

Lots of parking. Not crowded but still a lot of people. Nice hiking trails. Good place to bring kids. Lots free information.

Felixshia Stoltz

Going to this park will be so worth it! There is a trail called Mt. Rose near Cushman Lake or is pretty challenging. Make sure to take plenty of water for this trail. Staircase trail is easier with more water sights. Other than that beautiful sights all over for sure you should visit!

Jessica Torres

A must see. We especially enjoyed hiking in the hoh rainforest.

Andreas Aristidou

Very beautiful, clean environment. Makes for a good hike, nothing too crazy. Incredible views of the sea and lakes inside.

Branda Diehn

So much to see & do. Hoh Rainforest was exquisite!

Anais Escobar

Amazing park. Very friendly to families and beginning hikers. Love it worth the drive

Daniel Jurik

Great hiking! Campsites were easy to access. Just bring cash or checks. Credit cards are not accepted if you don't book ahead of time.

lavan kumar

Go for it. Especially by the summers or just before winter. I had a breathtaking experience by the hikes and trials. Will cherish the nature’s touch for lifetime. Doesn’t need any extra prep. Regular hiking shoes and a hydration bag/bottles water is advisable. If you don’t get water all by yourself, you’ll have a tough time. Could be treated a must watch and/or bucket list item.

Bryan Foster

Greta park with lots to do from mountains to beaches. Lakes to rainforest. Amazing scenery. Can get busy during holidays and free days. Plan accordingly. Lake crescent is absolutely beautiful. The beaches out at la push are great and scenic. Hurricane ridge gives you a view of the mountain range and the hoh rainforest is definitely unique. You can do day trips from the Seattle metro area but better to take a few days and camp or use the hotels in forks as a base.

Kendall Larson

This is an amazing national park. It would take weeks to see everything it has to offer. The western coastal area is an awesome place (split rock and hole in the walk are amazing to see) and Hurricane ridge is breathtaking. I was only able to be there for two days, but I would 100% go again.

Anna Raper

My mind was blown. Beautiful, wild and well preserved. I never knew this was on my bucket list until I visited by chance.

Stephen Sarkany

We drove up Hurricane Ridge, very beautiful and the visitor center at the end was very educational.

Metz Abbott

Love hiking the olympics some of the most beautiful places in the worl to see

Jason

Beautiful park. Many different elements from beaches, forests, and mountains. Can easily spend days here.

Cherly North

There is so much to do now how do I fit it into a weekend?? The ocean is half an hour away in both directions and if you prefer hiking and mountains it's got that too! The Hoh Rainforest offers great camping on the river. I stayed in a primitive site off the road and woke up next to the river! It was amazing.

Alex Frederick

Amazing national forest everyone should try to visit. With an abundance of vegitation and wildlife, there's always somewhere to hike and something to see.

Eric Meissner

Olympic National Park is a rainforest. The trees are huge and the moss is thick. It had been 30 years since I had been here, and it is well worth the trip. Book ahead if you plan to stay in the area. Every place we stopped at was booked. We got lucky and got the last available hotel unit. Bring the kids and family. Everyone should see the grandeur of a rainforest at least once in their lifetime. You will never forget it. And you might even get lucky, as I did, the huckleberries were ripe! (Late September)

Caleb Wilson

Creation is amazing. Everyone should come see this park. The cloudy weather is perfect for taking photos.

Jasmine Rae

The world's beauty in it's rarest form..... What could there possibly be not to love about every single aspect . The pictures do what your eyes see absolutely no justice . A must see for anyone of any age if they ever have such a opportunity to do so. You should be somewhat prepared, I would make sure you have a bottle of water, sunscreen, protective eyewear and a sweater because it can get chilly.

Scot Bradon

Awesome landscape overall! Going camping was in fact a awesome experience.

OtirikTh3Gr8t

Living in Port Angeles right next to this amazing area makes me and my family so lucky. Lake Ozette to Hurricane Ridge it's all amazing.

Dale Eagar

I love Olympic National Park! From the mountains to the tide pools, there is so much to enjoy and explore.

Alysa Oleynik

I love this place! So beautiful a d so many hiking opportunities for all levels!

Meg le Comte

The most amazing NP with so many different climates and terrains from alpine, a rainforest, tidal pools and Monoliths. Truly astonishing. Must go to the top of Hurricane Ridge. My favorite was Cape Flattery. If you go there, you must buy a pass and limit of 20 parking spots so go early.

Christian Lenoir

Really big park offering anything from alpine trails to mossy old groves and rainforest hikes as well as mountain rivers, seashore, hot springs and so much more. You can easily spend a week here and not get bored. Be ready to drive a bit, though, as it can literally take hours to go around Mt Olympus. For the most part, the trails are concentrated around Port Angeles, although some other equally nice trails (Hoh rain forest) as well as beach portions are closer to Forks

Tony

Olympic national park is like a minature Alaska for me! With its iconic glacier rivers, it’s hills and mountains that cascade onto the coast it’s a small piece of heaven! This is a giant park so i highly suggest staying 5 to at least touch most popular attractions. However for people looking to hike for months this is the spot as well! My uncle hiked this park for 1 yr and camped out of his pickup with a canopy cover. All of one kept him busy but he completed the majority of the parks and its hikes and mountain climbing!

Anindita Barman

Very beautiful and relaxing experience. Loved the Hoh Rainforest. Missed out on views from Hurricane Ridge because of the overcast weather. Must visit!

Vijaya Shinde

Visited this place during fall. Beautiful combination of Mountains at one side and lake at another. It was rainy and little windy so got to see those beautiful leaves falling as is nature was showering blessings.

Patrick Harding

If you love the great outdoors or just strolling along the beach this is the place to come and visit. You can walk for hours on the beach and if you take kids they will have fun climbing all over the drift wood. Plus in the evening a fire on the beach to make chocolaty smores is always a great treat.

Lisa Simmons

Absolutely beautiful! Great short hike to 2nd beach. Had a great day!

Verne Farrell

I rode my bike up the Olympic Hot Springs Road from the Madison Falls parking area, where the road is currently gated off because of a washout that occurred several years ago. The washout, or more correctly, the slide area is bypassed by a steep, narrow trail of about a mile in length where I was forced to push my bike most of the way. Beyond that the road is in good shape for cycling, if a bit steep for the first 5 miles. Nice views can be had of the Elwha Valley and remnants of the old Glines Canyon Dam where the Park Service has constructed an interpretive site. The last 2-1/2 miles or so up Boulder Creek to the former trailhead are more moderate and pleasant cycling. Leave your bike at the Boulder Creek Trailhead for the 2-1/2 mile hike to Olympic Hot Springs. The springs, of which there are two main pools, are in good condition, probably because they get relatively few bathers since the road closure. They traditionally are clothing optional. Unfortunately, a suspension bridge that was built some years ago was destroyed during the same storm events that took out the road, rendering the trail a bit more difficult to travel. The Park Service is currently supposed to be working on an environmental impact statement in order to relocate the road around the slide. It’s been about 5 years now and I have serious doubts whether the road will ever be restored.

Park for recreation for all generation's, full of energy! Breathing of super high quality air in the mountains!!! That's super duper cool !!! From the hurricane ridge you can fell like you on top of the world!

Don Penfield

This is a amazing park and has it all! Rugged mountains, ocean beaches, miles of hiking trails, over 60 active glaciers, rain forests, boating, camping. Beautiful Forrest of old growth trees.

G W

Hey beautiful place to do some hiking with photographic opportunities abound. This is a fantastic time to be able to stretch your legs if you've been driving in your car for any length of time. I would highly recommend visiting the park as well as the rocky cliffs of the West coast.

B Land

Huge. Beautiful! Pristine lakes. Access to ocean, coastline. Northwest point in continental US. Different climates in different areas of park.

Katy B.

This amazing National Park has so many diverse landscapes! Beaches, mountain trails, old growth rainforests... Not all the sections of the park require an entrance fee! I saw bears, mountain goats, deer, and so many other critters. Pets aren't allowed on a lot of the trails, so leave your pup at home if you want to head into the wilderness. Enjoy, this is a beautiful place!

Carina Krippner

So large that one visit is never enough! Have to visit the Elwah River and see how she flows. Amazing reclamation! Old growth forest are still 500 ft. from the parking lot and Mason Falls is wheelchair accessible.

Robert Mclaughlin

This is really Sol Duc Falls and Hot springs. You need to enter through the Ranger stop to get in with a pass or pay for the day. For the trail head just follow to the end of the road. The .8 mile hike is the most beautiful short hike I have been on ending in a nice Three waterfalls view. The green is amazing and this is a great hike for the elderly or handicap without a Scooter. We continue on the Lovers path and the Forest was chocked with surprise around every corner. When you get to the Hot springs go through the parking lot over the bridge and the path picks back up to go back to your car, about 2 miles at that point. The total hike is about 5.3 miles. Great fun and bring a friend to enjoy the sights with you.

John Nallie

Absolutely breathtaking! There are no words. You have to see this place!

Ahmad Adi

What a beautiful beach to be at. I can’t describe in words the feeling of being there. Many places to access these beautiful beaches from South Beach RV campground to beach 1 through 5 to Ruby beach and more. Many of there places access is free and some of the campgrounds charge only $15 per night but no hookups. Tent camping is also found in many areas around these beaches. Please keep our environment beautiful and healthy and never litter or abuse the area in any way.

Natasha Lewandrowski

This is a beautiful park with many amazing sights to see. I only wish there were more trails in the moderate day hike range. It seems like the majority of hikes are either very short and easy or very long and difficult, but maybe I just haven't explored enough yet. There's also a lot of places that are temporarily inaccessible for one reason or another, so be sure to check conditions before you go. To see all the parks sights you need to do a lot of driving. The vistas of Hurricane Ridge are hours away from the rocky beaches and rainforest. It's all worth a visit though.

Tammy Williams

Short easy hike's a little busy on the trails but the water was crystal clear a pleasant day spent with friends

Brooke Ferguson

The trails were great and pretty and there is a cliff to jump off of and it's really fun, and the camp sites are nice but I wish the spring wasn't dried so there was more than one bathroom. And kyaking down the quinalt was super fun.

MICHAEL A VERLEY

I'm from Minnesota visiting family. We always go here when we come to Washington it's beautiful everywhere
