REVIEWS OF Oaks Amusement Park IN Oregon

When it's busy the parking lot is full, so you have to find street parking, and it costs about 18-19 dollars for a limited rides bracelet and up to 40 dollars for a unlimited ride bracelet. It used to be cheaper, but other than that it is a fun and entertaining amusement park.

Stormy Lighthousen

It was fun going here. I enjoyed all the rides yet bathrooms were not kept up on. Most bathrooms ran out of toilet paper by 5pm and more people where showing up so it got worse. The food was good and overall it was a good time.

SuzyQ1962

Great place for fun! Annual Washington High all class reunions have been there for years. Lots of parking with choices for your special events and activities or carnival rides and attractions. They're also known for their fabulous roller rink!

theodore zacher

The rides and games are awesome. Would have got 5 stars but the food at Nathan's the main food stand, was pretty bad. It was like eating McDonald's hamburgers that have been sitting in the car all night on the dashboard. Everything else was awesome. Be attached parks for family parties and other events like work parties is huge and awesome and next to the river.

Andrew Portrey

Pretty disappointing to buy unlimited ride pass, find extremely long lines and feature rides closed. Essentially sell you something that they cannot offer. Expect at least a 30 minute wait to get on a go-kart ride. We sat near the restrooms at a picnic table to have a snack, and our party of 9 we're told that was a reserved only area and asked to move out of the park. We had spent about $320 at this point. The entire crowd seemed pretty disappointed, not a lot of happy faces.

Aiyana Flerchinger

Very fun but lines are super long. Only fun on sunny days

Weldon Miguel Rodriguez

I hadn't been to OP in awhile. I went for a company picnic & I had fun for the most part. There are really only to rides worth going on for the 18+ crowd, Roller Coaster & Go Karts. The bracelets we got were the $20 level, & they covered all rides EXCEPT those two! It's was another $22 ($42 total) to ride those 2.

Jonelle Archer

It was great fun. The lines took a long time and the line to leave was 20 minutes long. But people were friendly.

I go every year with my daughter on father's day. There is a organization called children need both parents that is there every year on father's day n they throw a BBQ and spread awareness n meet us long time supporters and new supporters n all our kids have a lot of fun with each other too. Oaks park is a blast all on it's own. The children need both parents BBQ makes it even better. If you would like to have some bbq please bring something. Soda, Gatorade, meat, potato salad, sausage n crackers etc. Meat would be appreciated. We got a lot of people come up last year due to the review and our growing awareness of the event/BBQ

Came here and it was really fun. But the workers looked absolutely done with everyone. But otherwise its great.

Alaina Clar

Good rides, but the prices have gone up so much over the years.

Jeff Cottam

Good fun and experience my kids loved the train ride around the park and the staff is awesome

Mercedes Reeder

A pretty cool, historical amusement park with a great skating rink and nice, free picnic areas. Accessible to the river and Oaks Bottom wildlife refuge. They have the second-oldest wooden carrousel in the country- built in 1903 I think- with a menagerie of hand-carved animals to ride. It’s the only game in town for amusement rides. If you didn’t grow up in California, going to Disneyland and Great America and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk like I did, or if you’re under 15, you’ll love the rides! The food is ridiculous. It’s the only amusement park I know of that still doesn’t have ANY vegetarian food. (Ok, there are French fries and cotton candy...) This is Portland! I’ve been vegetarian for 31 years, and I think Oaks Park is the last remaining venue in town without at least a veggie burger on the menu. How expensive would it be to put some Gardenburger patties in your freezer? (You wouldn’t have to freeze them, because you would sell A TON- I know a dozen people who go there all the time and either bring their own lunch or leave when they get hungry- but if you’re afraid they won’t sell, you could start there.) Head over to Costco and get a couple packs next summer. You’ll be amazed how much more food you sell!

Chris Urdahl

It's fun, but expensive for what is offered. There needs to also be a more limited bracelet for kids that don't want to go on certain rides that even the limited bracelet is too much for. Buying tickets needs to be gotten rid of. They are super expensive per ticket, $9.95 per ticket, and if you're going to charge cheaper for bracelets, tickets are worthless. Employees don't seem like they like their jobs. There is no good shade, very open and hot on warm days. Smoking should be completely banned. If your kids or you like rides then it's fine if you go round multiple times. Otherwise find a coupon or go to the park.

Miracle Morris

Fun place to go roller skating with the family, including events throughout the school year for adults and children. Like pajama skate, glow stick night an more.

R. Marks

Good time at Oktoberfest until the fiasco of attempting to leave. Stuck for three, yes three, hours in the back lot by the roller skating rink.

Seoul Glo

We've brought our daughter (5 y/o) here a couple times and she absolutely loves it. She's about 44 inches tall, so she can ride most of the rides. If you bring kids, be sure to check their height to make sure they can ride the rides safely. There are lots of variety of rides and games. Having an unlimited wristband makes it affordable and they also don't gouge you on the food and drinks. You can also bring in your own food if you want. It can get crowded, especially on 2 for 1 Tuesdays or any other days with a special. We'll definitely be returning!

This place has a little bit of everything for everyone. There are food vendors, typical fair fare (couldn't resist the pun, sorry!). Walking through the midway it feels very much like a county fair with roller coasters, games of chance, and food and snacks. But if you walk away from the midway you can stroll along a path that gives you views of the Willamette River and downtown Portland, and feels very park-like. There are spaces in this park setting that you can reserve for quinceañaras, birthdays, etc, and then there are spaces with signs saying "First come, first served". Call ahead. Walking the midway is free, but it costs to ride the roller coasters. Call ahead for rates. Also, I noticed that the midway closed at 7 pm on a Saturday, so be sure to call for hours! But all in all this is a really lovely place to spend a day.

Natya Laino

This was really fun. My entire family went for my niece's birthday. The only downside is that the bracelets you get for the party don't allow the roller coaster and that is an additional $20 on top of the $22 already for the bracelets per person. The lines weren't too bad and it was a lot of fun. There are rides for everyone.

We had a Gathering here for the beginning of our siblings family reunions and it was the same Oaks Park that I remember over 30 years ago when we used to have our Sunday school picnics here. The atmosphere is still nice and calm not much have advanced but it was a nice place to gather although it was a little pricey and not much to do.

jestersaid

So fun, great day! Great food, chicken Sandwhiches and Fries were so yummy! People we're great and the kids loved all the rides! Definetly coming back

Electra Panther

It was fun would be nice to make sure there was outdoor heaters for their employees they were freezing during the storm rough working conditions everyone was nice during the storm also would be nice to have corn dogs in the hot dogs in stock when it's cold outside wanted to buy 20 but they ran out.

Stefanie Shahvar

Great place to sit in a traffic jam trying to get in or out for an hour or so! Sure hope you didn't have anything else to do...

Katherine Rookard

Went for their Oktoberfest. So excited to try the food and beer for this special event. The website shows all kinds of delicious items, but you don't really get what they show in the photos. Oma's Kasemakkaroni.... was basically some box Kraft macaroni with a scoop from a tub of Lloyd's pulled pork piled on top, for $9. Very disappointed, not at all like what's pictured on the website. Beer was pretty decent, but you have to stand in line to exchange your money for "scrip", then go stand in another line for the Beer.

George Mayfield

Went here to the Oregon fresh hop beer festival. Had a great time sampling a number of great tasting beers.

Gregory Martin

I use to go there when I was a kid at Christy school way back in 1983 and 1984,it was a great place they had bumper cars which is one on my favorites.

Stacie Houchin

Need better parking. Took over an hour to get out of there when there were multiple events going on. The staff directing the traffic had no idea what they were doing and ignoring the huge line in the far parking lots.

Phoenix Black

Fun amusement park with things to do, for people of any age. I loved the rides and the roller skating rink! Tickets are affordable! Great soft serve ice cream!

Alex Ziegler

I love it and I went with a friend. They have so many rides! And you will find one that fits u. They also have pretty good prices on food! And the admission price is not bad at all but the roller coaster is a little expensive

Sebastian Valmont

Fun place to spend an afternoon; you only have to pay for what you ride, it's free to walk around. Food was good fair-type food, but it took thirty minutes to get a hot dog and corn dog. Rides were clean and appeared to be in good shape. I personally like the roller rink the best, and it's open year round.

Justin James

Fun little amusement park. Go on a Tuesday when they have their 2 for 1 deal. Better for younger children as there are only a few "big" rides.

Chelsey Courtney

My entire family enjoyed our time even though it was POURING the entire time. The park was pretty empty. (Short lines=awesome!) However, many of the rides were closed or appeared closed as there was no attendant, but our ride bracelets didnt cover go carts or the giant coaster? Seems like bracelets should cover everything on rainy days when other bracelet rides are closed..

Kelly Watkins

Such a quirky fun place to spend an afternoon. It's not your typical amusement park. It feels much more like a safe carnival which is lovely. The rides are fun and safe, and the views are awesome. Definitely worth the price!

Tim Rohfeld

Worst Parking situation I have ever experienced!!!!! My family went there for first time for the Octoberfest 9/21/19. Once we drove into the park area we were stuck, only one way in with no parking available, all full with hundreds to possibly thousands of cars stuck in non-moving traffic trying to find parking and trying to leave. It took us Two Hours to get out of there, we gave up on the Octoberfest, after about an hour. I will never come back to this place, they need to post signage if parking lot is full. They also need attendants to let people know if parking is available or not

Saffron Nurse

Fun summer day with the family. Throwback to the old fashioned boardwalks. No admission to get in, just to ride.

Timothy Evans

This is a top-notch amusement staff is eager to help the restrooms are kept clean this is a nice family orientated

Delano Eastman

Fun some good rides. When I paid no coupon, they gave my family 2 for 1 any ways. Great place!

Alex Gephart

Considering its size, this park has a good selection of rides, ranging from kiddie coasters to the thrilling Screaming Eagle. It's always a fun way to spend the day, and if the weather is too foul you can still enjoy the roller rink.

DubzOut

I recommend anyone to go here. Good for all ages

Willow Muhr

Fun if you can afford it. Granddaughter went on 6 rides and we went on them with her.....for $60. It was much cleaner than I remembered years ago.

Andrea Leech

Kids love amusement parks. Lots of good rides for toddlers during preschool only Wednesday mornings.

Alex Vasquez

Fun place to go with the family. It's a small amusement park. Lots of of games, rides, and things to do. They also have an awesome picnic area, most are first come first serve.

cheryl Flint

Very fun place. We're helpful at getting a wheelchair for me. My Daughters and Grandchildren had a great time! Very kid friendly place.

Lianne Crouthers

We were trapped in the parking lot for two and a half hours trying to leave! I only saw two parking attendants, and when I asked what was going on and told them how long we'd been waiting they laughed and walked away. I took my two year olds to Oktoberfest yesterday. We found parking ok, but when we tried to leave the parking lot was completely grid locked. There were lots of scheduled events happening yesterday (a roller derby bout, a race, and Oktoberfest). The park knew about these events but didn't have enough employees to control the parking situation. Thank goodness there wasn't an emergency. There would have been no way for an ambulance or fire truck to get into that dumpster fire of a parking lot. We will NEVER come back here again. It's not worth the risk of being trapped for hours with no way to get out.

Sarah Stevens

It had been a good ten years since I visited last. I decided to bring my 7 year old son for a date recently and we had a blast! It's been kept up so well and have a huge variety of ride. Fyi, getting older does not bode well with too many crazy spinning rides, bring your kid a friend lol. :)

Ariel Girt

Super fun here the rides were all super fun. This was my first time go kart riding and had a great experience with it. The food was not that great but whatever. Skating was fun here.

Reesey Campbell

Went here for a company picnic with a friend; had a lovely time, even in the rain! We went on the ferris wheel, got caramel corn, and walked the nicely paved pathway around the picnic areas. The only downside: difficulty finding parking because the park was PACKED!

Jules Apodaca

Great fun place for all of the family! The rides are fun and they have good snacks. On Tuesday’s there is adult roller skating after 9 pm. It goes to 11 pm and have to be 18 or older there is a lot of activities for the kids to do during the day like the train ride. The people who work there are always super nice and I’ve never had a bad experience.

Brandon Skinner

Grew up with oaks park. It's really clean these days. The new adrenaline peak coaster looks RAD! It's something you'd see at six flags! I miss the old mouse trap, but so glad my kid gets to enjoy the endless wheelie bikes (chippers choppers). Roller skating is so underrated too. It's kind of a rush once you learn how to go fast.

Casey Kerstens

I was pleasantly surprised by how fun this place is. You can't go wrong for the price

Pamela Shetler

A lot if fun. I like that you can bring your in your own food

Tera Roberts

I love this funky historic place. The unlimited ride bracelet is worth it.

Courtney Kitterman

All the rides were great. Pretty good deals for food and everything. The lines for certain rides were really long. Most of the workers seemed less than excited to be there and could have been nicer. I like that the top tier bracelets include just about everything at the park. Had a lot of fun!

Jacque Champagne

We love coming here. So much fun for all ages. I am sad they took the poster game away and the old school rifle game but its not a deal breaker ;)

Zatarazie

Cool amusement park. I felt like the pricing was decent. Also had a rollerskating rink which was awesome.

Goalie Training

I loved it at the night time. Very pretty and it has many fun rides for all ages

It's Preston

Amazing, great rides and good food. I was here for 5 hours and I don't regret any of it. The Adrenaline Peak is by far one of the best rides there.

Carli D.

I've loved it since childhood. I went with my sister. It was a good day! The weather was good and being with her made it perfect.

Laura Morales

My kids 6 and 10 yr olds loved it. Nice small and full of amusement

Bryce Olson

First visit for the 4th of July and it was a blast! There is something there for every age. It was so much fun. We will definitely be there again!

Simone Nascimento

Small but entertaining amusement park, good to spend some time here. Parking was a positive thing about my experience here. Roller coaster was fun!

Brenton Clive

Pretty good for children, but beyond that there's not much here. They have one roller coaster that adults would enjoy, but you've got to pay $10 for one ride or $20 extra for a pass to ride it all day.

Heather Stinson

Everything there is amazing. It's got plenty of rides for all ages. All the rides seemed to be in great working order. I love that there's no admission fee to just walk in and walk around. If you want to ride rides, you can purchase the bracelets, all at different game tiers and pricing, or you can buy individual midway tickets. Free skate is included with the bracelet as well, or again, you can purchase separately. All of the workers were pleasant and friendly. Will definitely be returning.

Brandy Wilson

For it being a busy Tuesday, the lines moved quickly. The staff were polite and friendly. The food lines also moved quickly and the food served was fresh.

Marie A

Great place to hang out any day, rides , food , specials events .

Brook Kirklin

This is a Portland gem that's a great place for the entire family and some cool special events like Oktoberfest

Lara Haehle

This is a great little park right on the river. You'll feel like you went back in time, but there are still a few modern rides for the thrill seekers. Our family's favorite are the picnic grounds, a great place to blow out some candles and have a slice of cake before getting back to it. The park closes really early, so plan accordingly.

Heather Martin

Most of the time this is a really great place but you really need more Ada parking please.

Clarence Thomas

Very nice. Went while on vacation. Small but fun.

Jay Hamann

Went here a lot as a kid, just went back for the first time in a decade to share it with my kids. We spent 4 hours there and had a blast. The basic bracelets were a really great value. To be honest we didn't have any interest in the go carts or the roller coaster anyways.the rides were all in good condition. The park was very clean. Staff wore uniforms and were very friendly. Concessions were reasonably priced. The only thing that was lacking was shade. It was a beautiful day, but there is very little shade near the rides and the waiting lines. It was a lot of sun.

Marty Mcfly

So many things to do, and it's so wonderful to have watched it grow over the years. A neck snapper of a roller coaster, some very fun roll cage Ferris wheel, there's something for everyone. Even if that's Just a picnic or a miniature train ride. Or even leaving the amusement park and exploring the riverside or the bird sanctuary.

Tiffany Estill

Been going since I was a wee child. Now get to experience with my own family. Always a good time. Highly recommend checking out the skating rink and Oktoberfest in addition to the amusement oark!

Brian Palacpac

Let's get this straight, this isn't a huge place from the get go. It's a cute strip with rides, food, and games. I really enjoy that there is no admissions fee, and you can bring in your own food into the park. Prices are fair, the lines are not that long, and overall a good time for kids. I do recommend bringing food with you, there isn't much option, and it's not like you can walk somewhere to get a quick bite. Luckily Sellwood has a ton of options that you can drive to and bring back. Oh and free parking too! If you are looking for a good family outing that's outdoors, Oaks Park is a great place overall to do that.

Colleen Ohler

So fun and affordable. Went for a Halloween swap meet and wound up staying for lunch and playing fair games. Wont wait so long to go back again.

Elizabeth Lopez

I’ve been here a few times & it’s good to pass some time. The ride I like the most is screaming eagle. However, it can get boring since I’ve been on almost all their rides multiple times so there’s not much excitement anymore. The price is kinda too much for the decent rides they have. The food is of course overpriced. The lines can get pretty long too!

Bryanna Osorio

We accidentally went to this park during a 10k race and getting in and out of the parking lot was a nightmare. Awesome place to take the kids, but you must alott time for parking and getting out of the lot (it took us 2 hours to leave).

Chris Berg

Less of an amusement park and more of a permanent carnival/family fun center. Minigolf & roller skating are good, but show their age. Meanwhile the rides are overpriced, especially for the quality. Kids will love it, but adults will want to leave it in the past.

Cory Creevy

Great place!! The kids have such a great time each time we go here. Recommending by our family, many times over.

Gannon Strand

This amusement park is great for all ages had a bunch of fun and unique roller coasters. This place has very reasonable pricing on the tickets and food. The rides are very enjoyable and it’s great for big groups and events. I love this place and would recommend going its loads of fun.

Jolene Leu

We love coming here! Makes family outing so affordable!

Athena Severance

I brought my kids here for a last minute summer trip. We had a great time and my kids enjoyed the rides. The park was clean and the staff running the rides were great. The staff at the ticket booth could've been more helpful and more professional but overall we had a great time.

Mark Griffith

The roller coaster aka the main attraction is not included in most packages and is an additional $10 for a 20 second ride. I was kicked off the Screamin Eagle for being too tall at 6'5". I know I'm taller than most people but still feel like I should have been able to fit on there it's not like I'm 7 feet tall. Ridiculously long lines anytime after 11am for pretty much anything and it took an hour (not an exaggeration a full 60 minutes) to go the 1 mile to get onto the sellwood bridge because of the inefficient system set up. Wasn't a great experience and won't be back.

Bijish Sidharthan

Great place to have fun.. Can get really crowded on summer weekends. Have lot of parking

Misty Sanchez

Had an amazing time with the students from Timber Lake Job Corps. Catering services was great. The kids loved the food.

Anon Baddie

Amazing place, my childhood. Very friendly staff, except when i visited 2 days ago the go cart staff was extremely rude and were yelling at me for going too slow, like sure keep me in check ..but be nice about it. But the adrenaline peak staff are sooo nice!

Miss Manda

Enjoyed a great day of family fun here on the 4th of July. Those who wanted to got ride bracelets others played games, ate and played mini golf. We so watched a fun little music/circus performance from a local kids camp. Great community feel here! While it's a fun little family park that's mostly just a carnival, the 5 stars are for the AMAZING fireworks display. It was hands down the best fireworks display I've seen outside of Disneyland. It must have lasted at least half an hour. We get thinking it was the finale and we would give a big applause and then it kept going and going.

noname ???

Staff is helpful and friendly. Great family activity. Affordable. Great low impact workout too!

Jaiden Camberg

The rides here are pretty great. I love the roller coaster they have although the prices are so expensive. I'd say it's worth at least one visit in the summer. The roller skating is amazing and has been for so long. They still have people playing the organ that's in the middle of the rink and it always sounds so beautiful! Great spot for roller skating.

Sam Levi

Far more fun than your jaded locals will have you believe. It's not Disneyland, but it's a full step above a county fair. Even when it's busy it doesn't feel too crowded and there is a little something for everyone. Food isn't bad either. Pleasantly surprised by the experience in general.

David Anderson

Really nice, amusement park. Good selection of rides for my 5 year old. Free to walk around. Rides are $5 each, or unlimited for $18-21.

Joseph Dahlke

Greatest skating surface ever created. The organ is also the greatest. If you know anything about American dance skating you will agree. The staff at Oaks rules. From person who gives you your ticket to the skating couches. Oaks is the greatest place on earth.

This was my second year coming here for Oktoberfest. So much fun! The food is amazing, people are nice, and there's lots of beer and dancing. I've also been here during the summer and it's a lot of fun, good mini golf!

Anessa Mitchell

Golf is super cool - creative and engaging for kids and adults. Ate lunch at the bar and all 4 of the meals were A+. The chick/waffles stick and jalapeño biscuit were memorable. Highly recommend.

Ruth Hendricks

Amazing amusement park with kids rides, picnic areas with BBQs available. Several tented & covered areas available to reserve in addition to numerous tables & sites throughout the park. Roller rink, arcade & fair food & much more. Go early to get the best parking & picnic locations.

Kevin Kinoshita

Great for kids, games for all ages, check for two for one specials. Parking fills up fast. Go carts are very popular.

Katrina Seus

Went for a wedding in the Dance Pavillion. Fantastic venue with plenty of space for our big family! I would definitely recommend this as a reception or celebration venue.

Sami Stoecker

We took my niece and nephews last week and it still is just as fun as when I was a kid! They had a blast, and so did I! Some of the rides I rode on at their age 15 years ago are still there and running strong, which is pretty cool. The only complaint I have is the price increase, although we went on a summer discount day and got bracelets buy one get one free so it ended up being reasonable. Times have changed and prices everywhere have gone up, so I'm not very discouraged by it. I will definitely come back again next season!

Went to an outdoor Pagan event. It poured down rain the whole time we were there and the area where the event was was grassy and muddy. I was so busy looking down to make sure I didn't slip and fall, I was not really able to see anything or enjoy much. It would have been nice to have some canvas tarps down or something.

Jack Howard

The Adrenaline Peak was my first major roller coaster and it was a blast, a really great experience overall. P.S. The cotton candy was really really good, definately recommend it.

Helpful Wanderer

This is a fun place. You can ride a rollercoaster, win a prize, eat a corn dog, have a picnic on the lawn, listen to live music, walk down to the river, take the little train and go roller skating. There are deals and coupons almost everyday of the week; check their specials page.

Adam Wengronowitz

Wife and I visited for a late night mini golf session. Definitely an older place but super cool and not very well known. All kinds of excellent carnival-esque activities from which to partake.

Ricky Perez

I Love This Beautiful Coaster At Night, Although It May Be Expensive (10.00$) Only To Go On It One Time, it Was Good. Unless You Buy The Premier bracelet You Can Go On This Ride And Go Karts Unlimited Times At Not Extra Cost.

Emily Fae

Perfect for my 5-year-old but also good for teens and adults. The basic wristband is good for all the rides suitable for children and is under $20. We had an awesome 3 hours of entertainment!

MissyAnn Estep

We love this place! I was super sad my favorite ride wasn't up and running and wish I could have seen that information before driving 2+ hours to spend the day here, but even that doesn't reduce my review. This is a perfect and affordable way to spend the day with the family and the big coaster is fantastic!!!! There's something here for everyone in the family to do or ride and I like that they have the picnic areas so we can bring our own food. Staff was typically friendly and helpful and fun. We want to go at least once a year for the foreseeable future for sure!

Coral Rose

For several years now, my daughter has requested we go to Oaks Park for her birthday party. Sometimes we purchase the birthday party package, but I'm pretty sure it usually ends up costing more. The kids loved the new roller coaster today, but it's an additional $20 to add unlimited go cart and roller coaster rides to the deluxe unlimited ride bracelet, which brings the total cost to $43 per ride bracelet. Personally, i feel like it's worth it, but if money is already spread thin, it does make it a little more difficult to go. We offset the cost by bringing food and beverages from home, and by not purchasing items from the gift shop that the kids usually request. We still had just as much fun, and I'm happy to pay a little more if it means Oaks Park will be around for years to come.✌

Destiny Covington

I love you can just go to this place and buy a single ride ticket and then leave, or have your own little day at the carnival anytime. It's a clean and safe place as they say in the commercials. They have great Carnival Food, Fun carnival games, as well as the rides. It's fun for all ages. It's not like Six Flags, but it's Oregon's version of a fun place. Love how quirky this place is and always look forward to visiting it

Kuriouz1

Cool to have a local amusement park. The rides look fun but the vibe is a little rundown. Maybe that adds to the charm. It's not a big amusement park. There is a carnival atmosphere with games to win stuffed animals and also a roller rink on the property. It's next to the water where you can bring a picnic too. Pretty neat spot for the family to hang.

Jean Elvisk

It is a fun place, but should be better if the City of Portland renew those installations.

Susanna

Like something out of a movie, this little amusment park carries loads of nostalgia. I feel like I'm traveling back in time to a place I've never actually been to, but somehow know so well. If you need a minute to live in the moment while smiling from ear to ear, plan a little visit to Oaks Amusement Park. The only thing missing from this gem is a classic haunted house.. Then it would be complete.

After walking the entire park twice I am fairly safe in saying that the typical age range for those who will enjoy themselves here is between 4 and 18. Bring a coat as all of the rides are outside and it's Portland, so it may rain on you at any moment. It's definitely worth getting the armbands if your going to ride more then three of the rides. The party reservation areas are a great idea if you have a group as not all may want to ride the rides. The lines can be a little long but generally speaking they move pretty fast. Come early or you may spend time hunting for a parking spot.

Ashley Kamren

$20 for small children's unlimited rides but parents also have to have one. Lines were not too long, fun way to spend a few hours. They liked the roller rink. Beware: The spider ride takes a long time to load and unload riders!!

Keri Daniel

A bit overpriced for such a small amusement park, but there is still a lots of fun to be had! We were there for five hours, kids rod3 rides over and over again, plus go-karts and roller skating! So much fun! if you buy a drink and hold on to your cup, you can get it refilled over and over again with just water. Really helpful on a hot day!

Kevin Mejia

I went during Oktoberfest which I Ioved but I'm not sure what Oaks park is like on a regular day but definitely a great place for the family and young adults. I was confused about where beer or alcohol was allowed on what part of the premises but the fact that it was available was legit! Ruby jewel ice cream is delicious even on a rainy day, and the prizes can be won so that really helps the self-esteem!

Eder Hernandez

We only tried the mini golf but we had a great time. It was fun, affordable and under the shade with a nice river view. How cool is that!

Paul Chang

Our favorite amusement park in the Pacific Northwest. We have been visiting this park for years. Little ones can enjoy a carousel ride, slides, and other age appropriate rides which will thrill them without scaring them, while older kids will enjoy heart stopping rides like the Screaming Eagle. Also features roller coasters, a ferris wheel, go carts, roller skating rink, and picnic tables.

Vladimir Blokhin

Came visiting from Canada, the whole amusement park was awesome. Best experience I've had visiting States. Loved the Adrenaline kick. Go Kart staff is awesome, absolutely wonderful people. Everything overall 9.5/10.

She Ash

A fun place if you are under 16 years old. The place could use more shaded seating. Make sure to enjoy the green picnic/park area.

Robert Leary

Entry is free, but you'll need to buy ride bracelets if you want to do that. You can bring in outside food and drink - including alcohol if it stays in the picnic area. The picnic area is great for family or corporate events, just be sure you reserve a spot far ahead of time if you want more than a small patch of grass. The rides seem well maintained, but like all amusement parks, the lines are slow on most days. The concessions are reasonably priced, but they don't have a lot of places to get them, so lines can get long. Overall, a good day to take friends and family on.

Brian Hildebrant

Good clean family fun. Well maintained lots of room for group meetings and private parties.

Cynthia St Clair

Oaks is awesome. They have rides for all ages and theres a bunch of things to do. My boys love the mini golf

David Schexnayder

On a picturesque day the park was full, loads of fun and a complete joy. Best part if our visit to Portland.

Peter Hope

The annual Arabic festival is great. Excellent food and clothing are offered from a variety of vendors. This year's belly dancing performance was the best I've seen anywhere.

Jason Heglund

Love this place. Came here many times as a kid. Now I get to bring my kids here. Lots of great rides for everyone. Quite a few rides for little kids and they loved it. Kind of amazing the carousel, for as old as it is, is still functional. The younger kid rollercoaster really beats you up though. Lots of carnival food and a small train that goes around party of the park. Definitely will be back soon.

Molly Pitman

Reasonable price and full time staff verses carnies. Rides are safe and fun. Easy parking

Mike SouthWorth

Fun rides for the kids. If you want snack bar be prepared to wait 45 minutes dependence on time you eat. Would suggest better lines, like a bank, no strollers should be in line.

Brittney Waldrop

My kid's really enjoy coming to Oaks Park, however, I am only giving the park a 2 star rating because there are ghetto people who come here and damage people's vehicles in the parking lot by throwing their car door into someone's car door. Also, the lines are ridiculously too damn long to wait for food/drinks! Get more security cameras up so trash can be exposed for damaging people's property!!!!!

Justin James

Fun little amusement park. Go on a Tuesday when they have their 2 for 1 deal. Better for younger children as there are only a few "big" rides.

December Salevao

Found out about this place last minute and had no idea it was going to be so fun. We had a blast. Carnival rides and elephant ears never fail. Skating rink was a little hot and funky but it was still fun.

ʀɛʍɨ ʀɛʍʊ

Nice and fun. The roller coaster was a nice thrill, and the rides are overall fun. I suggest going there maybe once or twice because it can get boring.

Arianna Kindsfather

Great place to bring the whole family. There are rides for kids of all ages and the food isnt too bad at the concession stand. The bathrooms could use an update, but other than that, a great day out. One highlight would be the picnic tables that you can reserve or get one in the first come first serve area. The whole place does feel mk ore like an actual park rather than an amusement park which is great .

Chris Shade

Fun time with friends. A great place to have a get together since everyone pays fro their own rides. Cute if simple mini-golf. Great roller rink.

Lilie Shaver

Oaks amusement park is a phenomenal place to go for families, school events, family reunion and more. I absolutely love the rides and it has a nice, shady picnicking area for lunch. There is always enough room for your family to sit down because they have so many picnic tables! The dollar rink is also amazing! Definitely recommended!

Daniel Merrell

Really classic amusement park with lots of history, with some pretty good wild rides too. I grew up hearing stories about my Dad going here, and his older brother's band playing here in the '60s, and have good memories going here as a kid. Now I have lots of fun bringing my daughter here, and she loves it!

Charlotte Lam

We decided to take the kids out to have fun. They wanted to have some hotdogs and rides. So we did took them here. We can't stop smiling seeing how happy they are. They enjoy different rides and games.

Leticia Alldrin

Really fun place for the family. My son loved going on Adrenaline Peak and the Go Karts... He can't wait to go back.

happy mostly

It was really fun but they close to early and that means the lines are long the entire time and for what we pay it is not worth only 9 hours because your in lines 8/9 hours

Nicole Davis

I have been going here all my life, for roller skating(all night skates as kids) rides and games, 4th of July fireworks, work bbqs and picnics. I even had one of my adult birthdays there skating with a group dressed up in 70's style skate gear. Great times! Oaks park is a symbol of my childhood and a staple in the community. I highly recommend Oaks Park, supporting them (a long time, local business) while having a great time enjoying what they have to offer

A Google User

The Oaks Amusement Park at Pier 39 are so much fun to watch and a must see while in San Francisco! There are also many great restaurants and shops and it is fun to just walk through and check it all out, but worth it just for the Oaks Amusement Park.

Andrew Rutter

Rides are fairly outdated and the 1 ride that is worthwhile is 10.00 a ride. Not to mention I was told they can't help you with safety equipment, as it is a liability issue, which scares me they want untrained people to manage safety. In this case its buyer beware with your life.

Kristie Custis

They could use a couple more premium rides or at least have them all running. It was pretty fun though!

Kristina Stinnette

I always loved going to oaks park as a kid, and now I get to still enjoy some of my favorite rides with my kids. We only had 1 issue with the person operating the ride not paying attention when we were thumbs downing. The ride was going too fast and we were having to hold onto our kids to prevent them from flying out.

Kristin Smith

We generally come here yearly for company picnics and we were planning to come again soon on our own to enjoy the park. However, after our experience today, I highly doubt we will be willing to come back. We waited over an hour (in the rain) in line for the go karts. Got up to the front, and apparently my kiddo didn’t have the correct bracelet to be a PASSENGER in my go kart. Both of us adults had the premier bracelets though. Our option was to not ride, or get 3 tickets from the ticket machine located right next to to go karts. The catch with that is, IT ONLY TAKES CASH. We did not have any cash with us, except for maybe 70 cents in change. Of course my kiddo ended up upset and crying that she wanted to go on the go karts. She’s only 5, so she didn’t completely understand the situation. That’s how we ended our day at Oaks Park. If you’re going to require these extra tickets for “not correct” bracelets, UPDATE YOUR MACHINE TO ACCEPT MORE THAN JUST CASH.

I remember being a child in Oregon... If you want a close amusement park than this is it. Even taking my kids there is pleasant, but just know you're not going to get the "thrill rides" you'd see at a large park.

Kojin 173

It's a good place to visit with the family. There's rides, rollerskating and even a nice river nearby

Crystal Plum

Birthday party, teenagers enjoyed themselves, that's all that mattered. Was there all day, on a summer Friday, longest wait line was at the go-karts, maybe five minutes, most of the rides they were able to walk up and get on ride. Somehow, we picked a good Friday to go. Have been here before and most rides had to wait 10 to 15 minutes. Never know what you'll get.

Timothy Meyer

I absolutely love the old fashioned roller skating atmosphere here. Bonafide organ and organist on duty Sundays I believe? Great fun for my family and I. Staff are friendly and accommodating, as I had to change my rental skates once or twice to find "the right pair" for my silly wide feet. They even have an adults only night during the week where things apparently are a bit more "relaxed" lol I haven't been yet but I'm guessing it's a blast.

Denmark Whitaker

This is a great family thing to do. Really good for the younger kids. My favorite is roller skating.

james berghoffer

Haven't been there for yrs 'the grandkids absolutely love it

Scott Norton

A fun local amusement park. Good value. Very busy noon to 4pm. More relaxed in the evening.

Alex Ziegler

I love it and I went with a friend. They have so many rides! And you will find one that fits u. They also have pretty good prices on food! And the admission price is not bad at all but the roller coaster is a little expensive

Sarah Koharchick

We went there for their octoberfest celebration. It was great. Traffic to get in was out of control. We parked far away and walked, which I highly recommend on a busy weekend. I got worried it would be crazy inside, but it was great. Busy, but there was enough to do that lines were short and employees were friendly. We took our toddler on lots of rides with very little wait time. We've decided to go more often next summer.

LGayle Gustafson

Oaks Amusement Park is host to the Multnomah County Fair held annually over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend. This year the Fair's theme, "We Honor our Military and First Responders" was well represented through out the Fair departments, and was notably highlighted by the Quilts of Valor display across from the Needlecraft Department. THANKS Oaks Amusement Park for being a congenial host to this venerable Fair.

Lawrence Morford

Excellent family fun. Rides galore! Roller skating, go carts, bumper cars and much more. Oh wait, and that ridiculous roller coaster OMG!! I vomit just looking at it!! Have fun and for super cheap!! Take a ride on the miniature train too!!

Ryan Kozierok

We did a rollerskating lesson here. But the instructor seemed less interested in adults who don't already know the basics

Brian Strickland

A nice amusement park. They are updating rides to make it more entertaining for all ages. If you are coming from somewhere with the pig parks like 6flags or Disney this won't seem like much of a park but it is still worth the visit most lines are too long and prices aren't super inflated.

Jazmine losolla

It was fantastic,it's the first time I was with my dad in a while. And I got to see him and my sister and we went here. 10/10 recommended

James Parker

This place was AWESOME!!! Small enough that it's not overwhelming, yet big enough that you still get that carnival/fair feel. Lines weren't crazy long either. Prices weren't bad at all for food, drinks, and ride bracelets. Expected carnival prices. I will definitely take the kids again soon.

Ian Limbocker

Great carnival atmosphere. Miniature golf, bumper cars and roller rink. If you live in portland and have never been it's worth the trip into sellwood.

Kevin gastelum

It's a good park with good prices for the bracelets, but it's a far cry from being as good as the amusement parks in California. Some of the rides were closed but I'm not going to count that as bad because it wasn't very busy, just as a FYI for other people.

Krista Bauer

For years my family joined in the tradition of Oaks Park on Labor day or the day before! Even as an adult now, it was just as great of a time as it was as a child!

nikki shaffer

Been going here since I was 5 now just took my daughter here love this place

Justine Morris

Its okay. I wish there were more places to sit. Every bench was taken. Also there needs to be benches when you watch your kids on the merry go round. Its seems to be the longest ride in the park. After a long day that's the last ride for some families or the first. It would be nice like I said if there was a place to sit.

Tobi Webster

We went on a Saturday. Crazy idea. It was so busy they had us parking on lawns and blocking people in. Lines were crazy long. We ended up roller skating. Less crowded and more fun.
