REVIEWS OF Crater Lake National Park IN Oregon

Derek Bennett

This is definitely something spectacular to see. The shape of the lake is incredibly perfect and you can tell that the depth is immense. Unbelievable surroundings that leave you awestruck.

MJ

Magnificent and beautiful place. It's a sight to see for anyone who is into traveling. I recommend going up to the lookout, you can see the whole lake from there.

Jackson Ehmett

Clearest water I've ever seen. Definitely a must see. You can also barely see Mount Shasta beyond the ridge.

BinDu MurALidharaN

Park gets crowded during summers and long weekends/holidays. Visits during off weekends is probably better to enjoy your time at the park, that also helps avoid having to deal with parking issues. Good trails, breathtaking view.

Amy Michelsen

Best stop ever on a clear day. Caution! Danger near the cliff edges, having no railing.

D Snook

Amazing national park. Beautiful trails and views. Great place to visit!

Binyu ZHANG

A crater lake formed long time ago post volcano eruption. Freaking cold on top of the outlook but the view is stunning. If you visit in fall and early winter, suggest to bring more cloth for extreme weather. If you have time, rim trail will be a good choice in good weather. Heard there is an area that you can swim in the lake, the deepest lake in the states.

William Rozelle

Has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Check out the historic hotel!

Estel Meeks

This is the bluest most beautiful fresh water anywhere! So many different shades it must be seen to be believed! You can drive around the entire rim with lots of pull offs to sit and take it all in. There are trails to hike to a couple of different peaks and one that takes you to the water to get on various boat tours.

Sam Figura

Such an incredible view! We really enjoyed our trip. I've lived in Oregon my entire life, and this was my first trip. It's so beautiful and the lake is SO large. One of the World's most beautiful spots.

Susan Stouffer

Crater Lake is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! I wasn't prepared for how spectacular it looks with the clear water, snow, blue sky and mountainy landscape! This is a MUST SEE for your Bucket List!

Shannon Kerwin

Crater lake is so beautiful! We enjoy coming here a lot!! It has gotten expensive to camp and to enter the park but it is worth coming to check out!

Sebastian Dix

Amazingly blue. But do realize temperatures are going to be low at night, so prepare for possibly cold nights in the camp even in summer. Otherwise perfect.

Tammy Hess

The most beautiful blue, clear lake water I've seen. Beautiful lodge. Friendly visitor center staff. Disappointed in the camping options.

Collin Stacey

This place is just absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend that people take the route around the lake. It is open only during the summer but all the stops were crazy beautiful.

Heidi Ellis

Really beautiful water and scenery. I didn't realize much of the park includes desert too. We didn't hike, but the viewpoints were lovely.

Sanjana Balakrishna

Unbelievable place! Everybody has the same jaw dropping expression when they see this! If it's still bit snowy, the north rim road will be closed. That's what happened to us. We had to drive for extra 50 minutes to the South entrance. Check the conditions on the website to get information about road closures. You'd want to visit here on a day with clear skies ideally, if you want to see the deep blue lake. The water is exactly the reflection of the sky, so that means if you come here for sunrise/sunset, that would be great as well. This is in the middle of a first, completely away from civilization. The air is crisp and fresh.. I'm definitely going back here for multiple visits.

Patty Spear

Words cannot describe the beauty of this place! Stunningly beautiful and, we played in snow in the middle of July!!! Great staff.

Sara Jelen

What a beautiful place. The hikes are great..something for everyone- from easy to difficult. The lake is stunning. This is our second time here. Worth the visit!

Elizabeth Angus

The bluest blue you'll ever see. The clearest water you'll see, basically anywhere ever. What a great 33 mile drive around the lake! Not super crowded, and only takes a few hours to explore if you're only stopping at the major points along the lake. Can't wait to go back.

Erica Johnson

Hey, just a pro tip: GET THERE EARLY!! There's plenty of beauty to explore and hike. It's honestly a one of a kind experience and naturally, pictures just don't do it justice.

Kelly Gonzales

Did the whole experience and LOVED it. Stay at the lodge, had breakfast and dinner at the lodge (be sure to make reservations for dinner!), hiked, boat ride...wonderful weekend. Skip the cafe. It's the complete opposite experience from the lodge.

Travis Sizemore

The more pure blue water you'll probably ever find, and with tons of trails, boat tours, lodging and dining all around. Cleetwood cove is a great little hike down to the lake with lots of swimming spots if you're brave enough.

DSM Billy

The lake is so much more blue than I would have expected. I have been to 49 states and many of the national parks as well as tons of state parks. Crater Lake is easily one of my favorites.

DSM Billy

Ally Williams

Stunning views! Nothing crazy as the park is a big loop around the lake, but you can't find a blue body of water. Would love to visit again in winter !

Lord Scratch

This might be one of the most majestic places on earth. The blue of the lake doesn't look real. Great views of the lake all along the rim trail. Watchman overlook is a moderate trail, but the overlook is worth it.

Barbara Yoshimura

It's a beautiful spot in Oregon and no other place like it. When we visited in June they still had snow which was a bonus!! you didn't even need a jackets it was a beautiful sunny day!!.

Tim Mowrey

This is a beautiful Blue Lake! Actually was a volcano that collapsed on itself and fill in with water there is a road with viewpoints all the way around the perimeter very good place to visit!

Caitlin Smith

I've never seen anything like crater lake. It's such a deep blue. Even though the area was a bit crowded, it felt very quite and peaceful. Definitely the coolest lake I've ever seen.

Mike Aldax

Lots of tourists on the Saturday we went, with cars passing, often unsafely, cyclists participating in a race. Can't deny the amazing phenomenon that is Crater Lake. Scenery is magical. I imagine that exploring this park by hiking/backpacking rather than by car would vastly heighten the experience.

Raelene colligan

The scenery was beautiful. It was bicycle Saturday so cars carrying bikes were parked everywhere. Maybe a special place for them to park their cars next time.

Shania Rainey

Words cannot describe the beauty of this place! If they could put some sort of lift in for people who can't hike down to the lake, I think it would allow more an opportunity to see how amazing it is. The development at the park is great for people to access and be sure to take advantage of the Ranger programs. Be mindful in winter to stay away from the edge when snowshoeing.

Jenna Ivins

Indescribable. There is only one place you can swim in the water. Water is GORGEOUS! The sky is beautiful at night. The staff is wonderful at the check in. If I remember correctly, it was $20/car. It’s open 24 hours but, if you are sleeping over night, you need a pass. Honestly, the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.

Thad Hanson

This place has been on my bucket list for some time. I was finally able to visit and it was amazing. It is hard to put words to the beauty. It was literally breathtaking. The park is kept in spectacular condition. There were many visitors but it was still easy to find some peace and quiet. I recommend this to everyone.

Katie Stuempfle

Breathtaking! We went in June and half of the lake was closed to cars for snow. But there were still plenty of overlooks and some hiking to keep us busy. Paved road, easy to drive on. Lots of pull over spots.

Adriann Hardin

My husband and I stayed the weekend and spent our time at the lodge! It was beautiful. We did a couple of hikes, relaxed at the lodge, and had a wonderful meal there too.

Heinz Kirkpatrick

How could not give 5 stars here. Awesome park, super friendly staff, and them views though.

Daniel Sanders

Beautiful national park I love Oregon. Came here in the fog still so beautiful. I will be back

Kristina Derosier

Can't deny the amazing phenomenon that is Crater Lake. Scenery is magical. I imagine that exploring this park by hiking/backpacking rather than by car would vastly heighten the experience.

Steven Mejia

Absolutely stunning place to visit. Nothing else like Crater Lake. Went during a light thunderstorm but it did not stop the tourists from coming. Parking lot was packed to the brim so just be prepared to hunt down a parking spot. The visitor center/gift shop had great things too.

Brian McIntosh

Was nice to see the park on a free day. Nice hike to the bottom and had a good time swimming in the lake.

Karen Saunders

Crater Lake is spectacular. Blue, blue, blue is all I have to say. The views from anywhere in the park are breathtaking. Just a great place for hiking, and taking in the views. Lots of different options for trail hiking, from easy to challenging. Great place for families.

Derek Bennett

This is definitely something spectacular to see. The shape of the lake is incredibly perfect and you can tell that the depth is immense. Unbelievable surroundings that leave you awestruck.

Jared Greanya

We loved this park. We went one day when it was sunny and 65 and cake back the next day and everything was covered in snow. Both were unbelievably beautiful in their own way.

Jill Harwell

There is only one place you can swim in the water. Water is GORGEOUS! The sky is beautiful at night. The staff is wonderful at the check in. If I remember correctly, it was $20/car. It’s open 24 hours but, if you are sleeping over night, you need a pass. Honestly, the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.

Mila Lopez

Such a beautiful park. I truly enjoyed seeing the lake surroundings cover in snow. Please be aware in winter the North entrance in close. Make sure to check the website for closures and driving conditions. The conditions could change from one day to another.

Christopher Jones

Only been here a day so far I'm impressed it's really cool , the crater itself Is breathtaking. I'll update this review once I've seen more, yes I would recommend coming here.

Sanjana Balakrishna

Fani Mwasiti

This place should be my meditation area. The water is so blue, so deep, so calm it's incredibly peaceful when you there

Juan Caballero

Great spot at D5 across from the bathroom. But I believe the best stops are like d13, d15, d17 with no back neighbors

Ryan C. Van Wyk

Beautiful National Park! The drive around the rim is awesome, full of picturesque vistas. Plan to take several hours to wind around the rim of one of the most unique lakes in the world!

Brandon Sayre

Breathtakingly beautiful, Crater lake sits near the top of my favorite places. Remember , this is a mountain , you have to come at the right time of the year to have access to all of the road. Be mindful in winter to stay away from the edge when snowshoeing.

Joe McDonald

This was on my bucket list for a long while, like 30 years long while. It's quite the experience driving here from Washington. It's a long drive but we'll worth it. There is the old saying, it's about the journey not the destination. That does not apply here at all. The journey was fun but the destination was awesome. I wasn't disappointed. We visited in late August, evidently after mosquito season, but still with nice weather. I don't have to talk about the park and the lake. It speaks for itself. I'm glad we went. We stayed at the Lemolo KOA in a cabin for the weekend.

Jon

Amazing park! If they could put some sort of lift in for people who can't hike down to the lake, I think it would allow more an opportunity to see how amazing it is.

andrew jefferson

I went for the car free day and it was epic! Beautiful is an understatement. The park has amazing views and features with plenty of options for activities. I do suggest spending more than one day because it is a large park

Star B.

Our family comes every year to visit the world's most beautiful lake! I have been coming here since I can remember and I am always amazed. The lake is the deepest in the USA and it has the purest water. It is absolutely breathtaking, you have to see it for yourself.

Stephanie Nuttman

So amazing, so beautiful. All ages and fitness levels can enjoy this park. Drive, hike, bike, this is a memorable experience.

soulknight coc

Favorite place in Oregon to go. Peaceful, tranquil, water is motionless. Must see place. I went at the end of April, still covered in snow.

Bill Oelklaus

Gorgeous!!! Spent 5 hours, took full route around. Great, different views into the lake, as well as surrounding scenery.

Christian Richards

Breathtaking is the best way I can describe Crater Lake. It’s one of those magical places that you can visit once and its image stays in your mind forever. One of America’s must-see locations in my opinion!

Earl Swigert

Really stunning water. Travelled the country and still have never seen a blue as deep as the waters of Crater Lake. This was my second time visiting and I had forgotten how beautiful it is.

Phyllis Devine

This is a great site to see if you have visibility. Today we did not.

Jessica

One of the most stunning things I have ever seen. Absolutely beautiful. Bring bug spray! If you happen to eat at the cafe, get the cauliflower mac and cheese, its scrumptious!

AK G

Very peaceful and cold. Highly recommend this place. Loved the nature. Loved the 6mile crater and it’s 1200-1500 ft depth blue waters and that tiny land in the middle.

Jared Greanya

We loved this park. We went one day when it was sunny and 65 and cake back the next day and everything was covered in snow. Both were unbelievably beautiful in their own way.

JulieAuna Yehle

Once near crater lake, the road signs and map were difficult to navigate through. The plus side was anywhere I was standing was just beautiful, quiet, peaceful. Definitely recommend putting this on your bucket list.

Teirdalin

It was a beautiful national Park, honestly I feel the gift shop should give the token collection books for free though, or at least the tokens themselves for free. Otherwise it was a great place, and very cool to go along a volcano rim.

AMF F

One of the most beautiful places to visit. Every stop and overlook gives you great views. Spent three days visiting and enjoying the park.

Chris Nathan

Everytime I visit, it's a unique experience. Don't pass up the ranger-led tours: amazing insight (there's a tree that relies on birds to plant it). Great photo opportunities any hour of the day/time of the year

Rodney Kent

Beautiful place to visit. Drove a model X through the Crater Lake area. Charging easy and accessible. Would love to drive through there again

Chris

It's pretty congested as national parks are becoming more popular. The pictures and videos do no Justice. The blue is so amazingly blue it's hard to get over. It's hard to believe it's an active volcano and is ready to blow you up at any moment.

cathalina mastine

The most beautiful blue, cleanest, clearest water! So much to see and learn..most helpful and friendliest rangers. Do the boat tour. It gives an entirely different perspective being in the middle of the crater! Loved it, cant wait to get back.

KEN

Pictures and ads do not reveal the majesty that only can be seen in person. How many volcano rims can you drive up to and walk to the edge to view. Amazing to think of an explosion that size even though we have seen Mt St Helens do something like it in our lifetime.

Samantha Moore

Made it around the crowds by going around the entire lake. There is so much to see and countless hiking trails. When swimming in the water, it is eerily blue and one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. 10/10 would go again 1,000x over!

Cindy Lyon

Irs beautiful and we took the trolley tour and it was great. You must go visit if you are up to it there are lots of hiking trails and they are all beautiful. You will love all the nature that surrounds you. I can not say enough about how beautiful it is.

Evelyn Carlson

Absolutely beautiful lake unlike anywhere else! The shuttle out to wizard Island is worth the price. It fills up, so book well in advance!

Peter v

Fun visit. Cloudy, foggy and cold to start, but warmed and cleared during the day. Had a great cobb salad at the lodge for lunch and took the trolley tour around the rim. It is truly a spectacular lake and it is bluer than you can imagine. Spend a day. Highly recommend.

Claudia Hanson

Incredible place, utterly amazing. We took the trolley tour around the lake. It was nice to have someone else handle the driving on some scary narrow turns with NO guardrails - yikes! There is a Ranger on board, his content was more lame jokes than informative unfortunately.

Jim King

Crater lake is an awesome natural phenomenon that you have to see to fully appreciate. All of Central Oregon has a bit of a Jurassic feel with all of the obvious volcanos and lava flows around.

Dallas Ervin

One of the most beautiful blue water lake situated in an old volcano caldera. Take the rim road all the way around the lake to get different viewing locations.

Konamaneti Sreenivasa Reddy.

What a place. One of the wonderful gifts of nature to mankind. 360° of blue diamond everywhere. All view points presenting same mesmerising beauty. So many trails, hikes to explore it's vast clear waters. Find a place just watching the lake, it will give immense peace. All view points have parking lots. All the roads leading to this wonderful lake are smooth.

No ones Bis

Crater Lake is one of the most beautiful places I've ever experienced. It is a must on the bucket list. I promise it will leave you breathless at first site, you won't believe it's real. Absolutely amazing!

Sm0l Tac0

Really cool. Really pretty. The people there are really informative and know a lot about the place. There are lots of hikes you can go on lots of them you can use wheelchairs.

Mark OBrien

Love Crater Lake We just take in the view and enjoy the weather. Last year while taking pictures we were able to video a Bald Eagle flying over the lake. Just pure awesome.

Karen Saunders

Crater Lake is spectacular. Blue, blue, blue is all I have to say. The views from anywhere in the park are breathtaking. Just a great place for hiking, and taking in the views. Lots of different options for trail hiking, from easy to challenging. Great place for families.

Mila Lopez

Such a beautiful park. I truly enjoyed seeing the lake surroundings cover in snow. Please be aware in winter the North entrance in close. Make sure to check the website for closures and driving conditions. The conditions could change from one day to another.

Matthew Sandra Moore

Deepest lake in USA clearest in world, makes for amazing blue waters. Lots of restrooms around. Good trails. But steep. Can bring dogs. RVs should not drive around 33mile rim.

Christopher Jones

Only been here a day so far I'm impressed it's really cool , the crater itself Is breathtaking. I'll update this review once I've seen more, yes I would recommend coming here.

TheOneNinja

Its truly a beauty of the world and Oregon. They waters are a dark shade of blue. The green trees provide a pop of vibrant colors. Worth driving to and while you're there, you can head to Medford and go to the family fun center, or eat at in-n-out.

Jeff Roerig

One of the seven wonders of Oregon. Absolutely worth a visit, even though it's not really close to anything else. This lake has the clearest water I've ever seen, however to swim in it you have to do a pretty strenuous one mile hike down from the rim. The hike is of course totally worth it. There is no beach, but there are rocky areas where you can swim, and even cliffs to jump off of. This is a shining example of what a national park can be.

link2worlds

Long drive down. But the views and hikes are gorgeous!! The West rim was our first stop and man if I'm not impressed with nature!!

Nicole Mekker

The deepest, most vibrant blue water I've ever seen! Absolutely gorgeous. Lots of view points right off the road so you don't have to walk a lot to see different angles if you're short on time.

Russ Lacuata

Crater Lake is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. The water’s intense blue color is an indication of it great depth and purity. Surrounded by cliffs, the lake is fed entirely by rain and snow. Spectacular and breathtaking beauty.

Sarah Zito

This place is amazing and magical. I have never seen a lake so blue! It also changes depending on the time of day and the cloud coverage. There is plenty to see and do in this National Park, and I highly suggest that you plan to stay a few days. There are campsites available in the park, and there are also plenty near the park. They have great visitor centers full of very well informed park rangers and employees. You can drive around the entire lake, which has multiple turnouts for you to get out of the car and enjoy the view. These are also very accessible for people with limited mobility. If you are looking for more adventure, there are a multitude of hikes that range from easy to tough. I recommend Scott's Peak, as it offers a stunning view not just of the lake but also of other volcanic peaks surrounding it. The Watchmen hike is also very cool. Do be prepared for crowds and mosquitoes in the summer months (bring plenty of bug spray). There are also bears here but they are not as problematic here as they are in other parks, and they usually avoid busy areas. Also, there is a gas station here but it is cash only. So bring cash in with you or be prepared for those ATM fees!

Larry Smith

The lake was beautiful. The hike to Mt Scott was a good hike with great views. The drive around the lake was nice, but very crowded. Our 2 hour boat tour was cancelled. Not sure, but someone mentioned the boats have ongoing maintenance issues. There isn't much else to do in this national park.

Ken Kligerman

A truly magnificent place with a truly terrifying north entrance approach. The pictures are actually from Google Earth 3-D imagery but the lanes are insanely narrow & the drop off is immediate and unbelievably steep. By unbelievably I mean I don’t believe all that loose piled rock can stay there. They were sold out but did the Ranger really have to say “oh we just sold the last campsite to the person before you” to rub it in?

Rebeccaa J Evers

3 days there, and still more to see. So beautiful

Bob Crouse

A very beautiful site even though being an early June and the snow was 3 to 4 ft deep along the rim. They were not kidding when they said that this water was really a pretty blue. Again a visit to the visitor center is needed to really appreciate the history of Crater lake.

Sherry Fadely

Ride the Rim 2019 in the books! I think this is an adventure to consider again, and make it a destination with friends. So beautiful and majestic and plenty of things to do before or after this ride.

Jeanette Bain

Never disappointed in the views. Cute gift shops and restaurant . A must see for everyone. But be cautious. No getting to close to edge. High altitude.Carry a sweater.

Hunter Christensen

Absolutely gorgeous. Facilities were clean and able to handle the large amounts of people. The only complaint I had was the lack of any attempt to guide traffic in some of the busier places along the rim.

Rebecca Elliott

What an amazing place. I could stare all day at the blue water worth going even if you need to go out of your way

Cynthia Clubb

Beautiful. Buy boat tour tickets well in advance. No tickets available the day we went or for the next day. One boat broke down and seemed like any cancellations were given to the lodge guests. (And the guy at the lodge desk was pretty rude.) The walk down to the boat is equivalent to 65 flights of stairs. The walk down isn't bad. The walk up is strenuous. Get to the lake at daylight. The lake is like glass. Looked like a mirror.

Q-PAT Matt

This place is amazing only got to stay one night but it's definitely a must-see next time probably be staying a week...

sarah jebs

The beauty of this Lake is just amazing, never seen beautiful waters like this before. Need time though to hike around and enjoy the view on different angles

Jamie Fry

Our national parks are our treasure. Crater Lake offers so much beauty. On this trip members of our group hiked, cycled the rim and enjoyed the learning opportunities at the Visitor Centers and Ranger Station.

Georgina Neave

What an amazing place. This is the deepest lake in th US which is why it is so unbelievably blue. This is one National Park not to be missed. We drove the entire loop road and went to the smaller of the Visitor Centers. The lake is the centerpiece but is actually only a small part of the park.

Calvin Lenz

Visited in summer and loved it. There's something about the water that just makes you want to stare. The whole area was beautiful and the couple hikes we did were rewarding and not too difficult. If you're staying overnight be sure to stay up for some stargazing.

Dave Sykes

An incredible example of the best of what America's National Park's can be....nature at its pristine best! We originally planned a stay of 3 days at Crater Lake, but due to some unusually nasty fog, we hadn't seen the lake in that time. Staying another day gave us the amazing views of the caldera that were more than worth waiting for!

Robert Leslie

Here on a cool fall day so there were no crowds. Fascinating geology at the lake and surrounding areas. Don't miss if you are in the area.

Marissa Johnson

I feel like you need to stay in crater lake to actually enjoy it to the full potential. We did a drive by and while it was absolutely beautiful I want to plan another trip for the future. The store and cafe were SUPER crowded!

Judy Doyle

Most beautiful, interesting place I've been Learned so much. So much to see, friendly staff. Clean grounds. We also enjoyed the picnic area

Grandpa's Garage

Grandpa's Garage Studio 7 suggests to get over here and get healthy. Enjoy the sunshine, hiking and time together. Stay within a few feet of each other while hiking, be prepaired and have a plan. Have mindfulness as we have love in both hands, give back to nature and one another in kindness.

J Janssen

Loved it. So beautiful, wanted a trolley ride but two full. Made our own tour instead.

D E

One of those spectacular places that you have to visit in your lifetime. I've visited in the summer and winter. You can't do much hiking in the winter, so you have more options when you visit in the summer. The snow surrounding Crater Lake is pretty amazing in the winter, though, and well worth the drive.

Norma Lilia

Absolutely one of the most breathtaking places I have visited. Definitely a top National Park bucket list contender. If you are visiting Oregon, try and make it out here because you although it’s deep in the heart of Oregon it is also one of the most beautiful underrated places to visit in America. Also, it is dog friendly, my dog Duchess loved it!

Bill ShadowRaven

Mesmerizing blue water. Several dog friendly trails. I did not stay at the lodge but it seems pretty nice. Lots of scenic view points and short trails around the 33 mile road around the lake.

Greg Travassos

Yes the water is really that blue! Went here in early July and still had significant snow drifts that caused much of the east rim trail and a few hikes to be closed. For the average vacationer you can spend 1 to 2 full days in this NP, after that you are stretching what to see, there's only so many different views of the lake. Definitely go to the bottom and touch the water (really jump in is best!) and head over to Sun Notch trail for the opposite view and some views of peaks. We did not take the boat to Wizard Island so I can't speak for that.

Nichole Cunningham

Just beautiful! Make sure to bring mosquito repellent. We had never seen so many mosquitoes at night before—they were definitely hungry. Lol :) The lake itself is beautiful and awe inspiring. Definitely worth the visit!!! There is a small wildflower trail that is worth the walk too.

Christian Yeo

It was so beautiful! I think it was as good as Grand Tetons. The water was so blue and clear. Just overlooking the volcano was astounding. Would definitely visit again and again

Robert Pfander

Absolutely gorgeous. It's hard to believe that water can be that blue or that clear, but it is. If you show up in mid afternoon you can catch a free lecture about the area and how the former volcano became what is now Crater Lake.

Courtney zeilstra

absolutely breathtaking. If you were coming here to camp though I would suggest going to lemolo or diamond lake instead and just drive in to the park to see the crater. Camping at Mazama campground is quite a drive anyways and the other two options allow you to camp lakeside. Very well maintained state park, it was gorgeous!

Adam Van Leuven

This was a bucket list item for me, had a blast. The highlight for new was easily the pinnacles. Would love to come back and go on the trolley and boat tours. So beautiful, everywhere we stopped have us another spectacular and breathtaking view. Enjoy your trip.

Ronald Ewert

Finally visited after 23 years of living in Oregon. Amazing! $25 is well worth it! Take the trail from behind the Lodge to the mountain viewpoint, then travel around to the trail that leads down to the water (where the boats depart) and put your feet in the water!

Christine Patton

The park is wonderful! Lots of hikes. 1 week is not enough. Room was great, but no bureaus for clothes. Lodge restaurant is ok. Food decent. Service needs a lot of work. Very very slow, and inconsistent. Some are nice, others were rude. They need better training.

Aashish Kolagotla

Awesome place. Very serene. Fresh air. Great views. This place has an interesting spiritual vibe to it

Andy Anderegg

Lake and forest were beautiful. Will make sure to find out if there are special events going on if i go again. There was some bike ride thing going on and the wait to get in was 45 min long and the drive was a nightmare. Snack shop and gift shop was too crowded. Bike riders were really nice but i recommend going on a less busy day if you want to enjoy yourself.

Jessica Sadler

Wow. Likes a sears photo backdrop on a clear day. A Saturday summer at noon, traffic not too bad, plenty of pulloffs and short rim trails and photo ops. Clean and friendly. Great day trip.

LK Davies

As a native Oregonian I forget that this beautiful & magnificent natural treasure draws people from all over the U.S. & the world. We drove around the rim, stopping at lookouts. Wild & rugged, we are reminded of the harsh climate in the winter.

William Crowe

Beautiful lake. Clean, cool air. Plenty of hiking. Good video presentation at Park headquarters. The park rangers were very helpful.

Jennifer Flores

It's such a breathtaking place. The lake has several viewpoints. I highly recommend it.

Yulia Konovnitsyna

Like something from the pages of J.R.R Tolkien, sans the hobbits, elves and dragons, yet the magic is evident. ✨ Don’t pass this by! Crater Lake is a stunning gem of nature, 2000 ft deep with sapphire-colored waters and many scenic overlooks along the loop drive. Loved this National Park. It’s not dog friendly except on paved area but the Pacific Crest trail passes right by there (outside of the official park entrance) and you can take your dog to hike on that path.

Megan Rogers

5 stars for the amazing natural beauty! Very calm and so serene. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Peter Wood

Beautiful park. Took the night hike guided up Watson . The guide was excellent very informative. Beautiful Sunday up on top.

Jim J

Crater Lake is beautiful and well worth the visit. If you enjoy it call your Congress people and tell them to fund the National Parks!

The Grand Canyon of Lakes. A blessing from Mother Nature. This is the getaway I didn't know I needed. I cought the most beautiful sunset and then found a nice place blocked from any lights to look up at the Milky Way and I was humbled!

Dawn Whitmill

So Blue and So Pretty. Hard steep climb up and down to lake, not good if you are not in top shape. Only way to get to boat/lake. But the view is stunning from the rim. Nice surrounding Forest is part of the park.

This place is magical and the view is breathtaking. I highly recommend stopping by and learn about the geological history of this place. The water is a color I've never seen anywhere else. Also if you have time go down to the water access point and take a swim.

Eugenia Rivero

Jaw dropping sight! Perfect for all levels! You can see the beautiful view from the car, in a small walk, or take on strenuous hikes to enjoy nature! Coming back with my family!!

Brian Cooksey

Heaven on earth. Each visit brings more joy and wonder. $25 per car entry fee is worth it for the preservation of what I consider to be one of the greatest natural wonders in the world.

Doug A

A very beautiful lake located in a volcano crater. Although there is only one access to the lake which is a 2 mile walk descending 700 feet taking about an hour and a half. There are many places along the rim drive to stop and view the lake.

kevin sullivan

A must see National Park. Beautiful in so many ways. The boat cruises are awesome, but it is a rigorous one-mile hike up and down to lake level. Make it a day trip, however, because the in-park, Aramark managed lodging is terrible in so many ways. A Crater Lake N.P. visit is a must do experience.

Devino Doe

Beautiful place to see with breathtaking views from inside or outside the crater. Boat tours are weather permitting. Great place to see the stars on a moonless night !

Isaac Brew

While walking through the forest and meadows the lake appears, at first it may seem to be a mirage or illusion but get a little closer and you will have no choice but too believe your eyes and accept the reality of what is in front of you, you're now face to face with crater lake.

Marsha Lance

All the facilities were first-class. We hit snow on October 3, but the sun peaked out as the day passed.

Punko Brewster

Boat tour is a must see, if you can make the hike. Please don't leave your dog in your vehicle! Dogs are not allowed on the trail, please leave them home.

Serena Giordano

Breathtaking beauty. I've come here numerous times as a child and as an adult, and still it is mesmerizing. Typically busy, especially if you head in the same direction as most others...It's expensive to enter, we also skip the lodge/gift shop. So many people go missing from here, and it's understandable why when you see the edges along the rim. Absolutely stop if you're near tho!

Tao Wang

Deep blue lake like sapphire. Holy serenity brings me peace. a good place to go with your beloved one.

If you are reading this, then you are already curious about Crater Lake National Park. There is no "Yes or No" question about visiting this amazing park. If you have the ability to visit, you need to come and see it for yourself.

Praveen Battula

Who dont like this place?? Amazing place with amazing views. My best experience this year. Loved it. Blue vs blue everywhere

Susan Koch

This place blew my mind! It is worth the drive. It is a do not miss place to see at least once in your life. The air is so fresh and crisp. The water, the trees are amazing!

Neil Watson

We will definitely be going back. The color of the lake is UNREAL!!! It is so clear and such an interesting geography lesson for kids and adults alike. The development at the park is great for people to access and be sure to take advantage of the Ranger programs (especially the Junior Ranger program for the kids). There are also lots of things out in the park that still provide the opportunity to connect and experience the raw nature of this amazing place.

Loree Slack

I loved visiting Crater Lake I have wanted to for years, so glad we got the chance. We drove around the whole lake stopped and enjoy the different views. The drive was as beautiful as the lake, it was very cold.

Jim Becker

Spectacular views near the Rim Village Visitors Center. We saw a phenomenal sunset from Discovery Point with red reflections on the water from the far side of the lake.

Emily Rios

The lake is breathtakingly beautiful. The Mazama cabins need an upgrade, the "wifi" is non-existent, you most likely will not have cell reception until you get out of the park.

Lori Weathers

Amazing views at every turn, hiking, photography of Phantom Ship Island, Wizard Island, the incredible history of in depth details of how the crater was created. The wilderness, wildlife, picnicking, and wildflowers. The deepest, bluest color. The 33 Mile drive with stunning views at all the turnouts. We loved our day trip. Please pack out what you pack in.

Neil Adams

We were so sick of traveling we only stayed a few minutes. It was on the end of a 2week trip. Worth seeing but the family was ready to be home

Ye Josh

Very good national park. A beautiful lake and viewed from different points gives different experiences. Have been here twice and we love it. The fishing in this lake does not require a permit and you can catch any fish and keep all you catch. There are basically only two kinds of fish, trout and salmon.

Rich Maida

Amazing views, nice hikes. If you cannot find camping in the park, go to Farewell Bend. Swimming in the lake is also a must. Freezing even in August but refreshing after the walk down from the rim.

Luke Nodine

A site to see. I've lived in Oregon 28 years and have never been here. We enjoyed the hike we took and will be back in the future. It was easy to access the trails and sites. Very accessible to all ages and mobility. A must see. Bring mosquito repellent!

Alexander Peichl

Crater lake was awe inspiring. I definitely recommend the boat tour. The hike down and back up from the boat is definitely worth it. The water is unbelievably blue. It looks like they dye it that color. The rangers are very friendly and willing to answer questions.

Erubiel Valladares

This place is amazing and encourage you to keep this clean. Nice for a swim or small hike. Kid friendly and lots of events throughout the year. Fave spot

T Stevenson

Magnificent! The water is incredibly blue. Interesting ranger talks. Nice facilities including a cafe that's open until 8pm.

Ryan Wilson

Not as varied in amazing sites as Yellowstone or glacier, however this is an amazing place! You have to see it with your own eyes to understand. Worth even for the drive and a picnic.

William Bracken

Great park to visit. Glad there wasn't any new eruptions. :-)
