We absolutely love this park! Huge toy for the kids to play on. Man made pond with a path all the way around it. A wooden bridge across the pond. Lots of cleared land for flying kites or whatever you want to do! It's so beautiful and peaceful!

Discovered this gem of a place on a Saturday morning. I have lived only a few miles from here for 2 years, driven over the bridge a million times. Today I "hiked" sort of. I don't care for sidewalks, so I went off "trail" and walked mostly lakeside as much as I could. Very nice 4+ mile hike. I am a fan, I will certainly be back a lot! Lots of nice places to stop and rest. I didn't give it 5 stars, only because I'd rather hike on a dirt trail rather than sidewalk!

Picnic tables by the north side of the lake get the cool southern breeze off the lake. Nice place to walk or run.

Gross gross gross. Liquor bottles, cigarette butts, and trash everywhere. The water was very murky. Just not a good place to fish or bring the kids. Very disappointing

Lake Overholser is a childhood favorite of mine since before the whole tourist attraction type setup, alot of people don't know that the the name of the area below the dam is known as the "GAR HOLE" by the older heads from back in the day,back when 85% of the GAR HOLE was an island with trees and tall grass and that big concrete wall on the Eastside by the dam was all dirt, BIG TIME SKETCHY! Old men would be fishing in coveralls fishing with a bucket of livers and blood or cut bait or dough bait! REMEMBER DOUGH BAIT? Who remembers in the 80s when there were so many Alligator Gar inside the GAR HOLE that they were having to shoot the Gar that were in there to try and kill alot of them off! That was at a time before the rocks were on the ramp keeping you from falling into the water,those were the days, now it just seems that Overholser is really over fished and too commercialized but still one of my favorites.

I love going fishing here. But I really get upset at some of the things that go on in the parking lot near the dam. During the day it's great but if you plan. On night fishing I'd definitely keep a form of personal defense on you and I'd have a group because it's just not as safe as it use to be.

Is high as I've seen it in quite a while. Largemouth bass good on plastic worms plastic lizards early in the morning top water and jerkbaits. Catfish cut Shad hole shad and nightcrawlers. Okay so of Sand bass used live Shad or live minnows only. Also good for stripers and hybrids today's date 5 1519. Keep your pull up and line tight.

I absolutely love it here. The neighborhood is very pleasant. Walking path is very visible so no vulnerable areas. Its a very family friendly place. Lots of people but not crowded at all. Plenty of parking all throughout the park. The mobile surf van is a must. Kayaking, canoeing, even boogieboarding. Its a very clean and well kept park. Highly recommend.

This park has a lot to offer, whether you want to walk or ride a bike down the walk trail, get out in your boat, or sit quietly on the shore and watch the water, the birds, the people....... it's a great place to visit and get away from the everyday grind of business. It's one of my personal favorites!

This area has much to offer...fishing, kayaking (or canoes and SUPs), picnicking, wildlife watching. The walking track is great and gets quite a bit of traffic. There is a great park for the kids. Sunsets are incredible. Poke stops and gyms, and several geocaches, if those are your thing. Plenty of parking. Great spot for photography. No bathrooms that I know of.

Everyone confuses this park for Route 66 park. This one is the big open area with trees and the soccer fields. Its a good place to take the dogs and not have to get in the way of children playing as they go the Route 66 park which has playgrounds.

Perfect place for morning walks in all but winter, beautiful views from any side, but I prefer the east.they have a police outpost and there's nearly always folks out and about.lots of dog walking and we have an array of water fowl that pass through at varying times of the migratory year. They got a vinyard growing on the north end, so we'll watch for that!

We went above the damn to fish for cat. Lots of bites and caught a small one. The ducks were friendly and area is pretty well lit for night time fishing. Really pretty scenery.
