Fort Defiance played a key role in the Northwest territory. While there is no fort, you can stand on it's original site overlooking the Maumee River. There are informative plaques on the grounds explaining the history of the fort.

As a 14th generation American, I loved the numerous markers detailing the history of Ft. Defiance. Enjoyed learning about Ft. Defiance with my teenagers explaining how our family was influenced by this area.

Nice with trees and small mounds. See how little the fort was with stones on the ground marking the walls. Just down the street to the south a sign marking fort Winchester

The Fort itself is gone but there are many markers to read and a nice view of the Maumee and Auglaze Rivers. A lot of good history!

Great place to grab a book and kick back and enjoy the view on off days considering the library it right next store. Also allot of fun events go on every now and then.
