We have the information of people who are purchasing the products of Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park (Park) near North Dakota.
As of day the firm gets a score of 4.7 out of 5 and that score has been calculated on 422 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is basically the top, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may be quite sure that the rating is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to put feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park corresponds to the category of State park.
Very informative. Park staff was very friendly. Area was beautiful
Very entertaining. Needs more gore
1st person guided tour of the Custer house is the main attraction to me. Nice place to picnic, hike or camp.
Great views from the infantry post
Nice place for history buffs.
A great historic site that is only $7 a day to explore. The staff were all super friendly. The kids loved getting on top of the block houses and exploring the village. The museum was informative. The barracks had clothes for the kids to dress as soldiers. Well done all around!
Nice stop we took the train to the park
It was a nice park with lots of history.
A great walking tour- lots to see in the area
You come in thinking small. Leave humbled
Loved the history and tour
Great fun showing my friend from DC around and taking the tours with him and the kids.
Great park with friendly staff, definitely recommend a stop here!
Went to haunted fort. Nothing special.
This is our 2nd time camping here. We quite enjoy it. Nice quiet campground, good fishing by the river, clean bathrooms.
Love this place. I am definitely coming here again
Great state park and a place to learn about North Dakota history. We paid a $7 entrance fee to drive in with 10 people. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Went with my son on a school trip. I will bring the family back so we can spend more time. This should be on everyone list to visit.
Beautiful area. Nice accomodations.
Fun for the kids.
Cool place. Heart tipi was a bit dirty and was not very well put together. These tipis get a LOT of attention from other campers and sometimes people have a tendency of just walking in without being invited!! The grounds are pretty too and I had a few people take it upon themselves to use the grounds around my tipi for fishing and playing. Not the campgrounds fault for rude people.
Fascinating museum and restored Mandan earth homes. So many artifacts and presentation of tribal life.
Always an enjoyable stay. Always happy and smiling
The dogs and I enjoy the monthly hikes put on at Fort Lincoln.
Nice, big campground. Lots of sites. Biking trail.
I went to the Haunted Fort event & it was a lot of fun. They did a nice job on the decorations & the costumes.
Wonderful historical site. Would recommend a visit. The campground was great. Clean bathrooms. Right the Missouri river.
Very cool park with excellent views of the river and country side. Cool recreation of the Slope Indian village mounds, which look so much larger inside than out.
Had a great time.
Great park with knowledgeable staff and great displays.
Great info on the history!!
Good variety of activities to do
Had Valentine's dinner at Ft. Lincoln Custer House and it was excellent!
Fort Abraham Lincoln SP is an unexpected place with incredible history for this area. I am military by generations of ancestors, more of the citizen soldier than everyone being professional military. So the military history of many events in our country's past, and a variety of locations, are very likely to have had one of my ancestor's at those significant events. This Fort is not one of them. So it was an absolute delight that I was able to work in Bismarck for a year, plus, and was able to partake of the incredible history, both military and pre-recent European influence (from about the mid 1600's). This specific fort was built not long after the civil war, so honoring a fallen president who had legions of haters while he was in office, was an expected event. You can camp in the park at a well-thought out campground, and visit many of the original (restored) buildings on the post. Colonel Armstrong Custer was the commander at the post, and it was from here that he left for the pacification campaign in the Powder River country of Montana. The daily life of the soldiers and others living at the post is portrayed very well by the daily tours and talks given by many of the docents at this post. It is a must-see if you are in the Bismarck area and have either several hours, or all day, to spend at the site. I most highly recommend this view into the frontier life of our country.
Beautiful place good walking fishing good info about Custer's Time there
Went to camp there, but camping area was closed off with no notice on website or at entrance gate. Lost $20 camping fee
Great learning experience for all.
Awesome place to camp or just visit for the day!!
Had a great time on the 'Glow Hike'. A beautiful park with camping, tours, and access to the Missouri River.
Beautiful setting at the meeting of the two rivers. Historic tours of the Mandan Village and Custer House. We stayed just one night as we were passing through, could've easily spent another day exploring the fort and village stuff.
Great place to camp.
Relaxing and there good people that were camping around us!
Incredible experience!
Restored Custer House Is a fantastic tour the Mandan Indian Village is also a great tour..
Great service and always have fun at The Haunted Fort here!
Beautiful place. Nice facilities.
This campground is really great. Lots of trees and birds, etc. People bring their pets, i.e., dogs and their dogs are so cute. I especially liked the peace and quiet of the area.
This campgroup is located in a wonderful State Park. Each site spaced far apart and right along the river. Space 71 is best with hookups for an RV. But all are equally nice. Clean clean bathrooms and showers. Miles of hiking walking trails well marked. Visitors.center manned by informative young rangers. Great small museum. We came for 2 days and stayed an extra day.
Great representation of military life and Native life in earthen lodges
Great place, always something to do here
This is a great state park. History of Custer and his men, Mandan Indians, and a campground.
My favorite place to visit
Oh I enjoyed the when I was a little boy I was there for a field trip great place to take your family
Beautiful State Park. Wet during our visit but still very nice.
Halloween in June went great. June 7, 8 and 9. Bingo and floats on Friday night. A scavenger hunt, kids carnival and trick or treating on Saturday. Sunday morning coffee and doughnuts. What more could a camper ask for?
A great place for camping. There are rv hookups outhouse or regular restrooms are available. Plenty of good fishing holes.
We brought our family of 7 (kids ages 9-16) in July and really enjoyed it! We stayed for about 2 1/2 hours. The museum is very informative with artifacts and a model of the Mandan village. We learned a lot in On a Slang village and especially loved exploring the Blockhouses at the infantry post with their amazing views of Bismarck. One downside is that the tours come at an extra charge, but we found plenty to do with just he $7 per car entrance fee.
Always try fishing with little luck. Lol, beautiful clean park though.
Fun stop. Toured the old barracks and training grounds. Comfortable area with good parking. Small entrance fee was charged. The big hit was the generals house and all the artifacts and historical information. Additionally, the Indian village and museum was quite interesting. You will also find a gift shop at the location.
Wonderful everything! Just a great experience! The grounds are beautiful, the showers are great! The location of the park was great!
An amazing place filled with history and scenic beauty. The hiking trails allow the visitor to experience a variety of landscapes. The historical re-constructions of On-a-Slant Village and Fort Lincoln give an excellent connection to the past. The "Heart of the World" for the Mandan people and the last home of General Custer.
Great place to go to have family fun and learning
Gorgeous place to visit. Lots of history to see and learn about. Many buildings you can tour, during hours of operation. .
Great campground
Big, grassy, shady camping sites.
We enjoyed the visitor center museum and slant village Mandan indian site.
Good hiking. Custer house is great. A lot of great family hikes and events.
If you love nature, this is a little gem within close proximity to Mandan and Bismarck area. Take a walk or a bike ride allong he hiking trails. Up and along the crest of the gently sloping hills, you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Missouri and Heart River valley below. Depending on the time of the year it can be lush with vegetation ( a very welcome relieve from summer heat), or it can be bare with howling freezing cold winter wind.
Very interesting and worth the time to see.
Tour the Custer house and Slant Village, extremely interesting.
Nice views, plenty of room. Good showers and comfort station. Could be more grassland trails to go up the hills. But good park.
Beautiful scenery. It's a great place for history lovers.
It was tiring but awesome
Great historical area relating to Abraham Lincoln. The one and only fort Abraham Lincoln with a trolly ride
Camping on the river! Excellent views and fun to be had around the campfire.
Playground is open now. View of the river is nice from campground. Interpretative activities were not yet open for the season. Water filling available but dump station still closed for winter.
We stayed in a five-person cabin here for one night. Cabin was air-conditioned (a total plus as it was 90+ degrees during the day), roomy, had a three-tiered loft with beds for the kids, very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms were nicer than some hotels I've stayed in. Plenty of showers. Nice big playground for the kids. We didnt have a chance to explore some of the features of the park but it is clearly a destination for local schools for historical reasons. The one and only reason I'm giving this place four stars is that it doesn't seem to have a place for campers to wash out their camp cooking ware, which is a problem when you're doing all camp cooking.
Vv nice place, cool landscape, wish people talked less though
A beautiful park, lots of history. The camp spots with hook ups are set up weird. The power and water are far from where you set up your camper. Don't forget the BUG SPRAY! The mosquitos are horrible!
Breathtaking!
Great family place with beautiful views of the Missouri river. We enjoy the bike trails up to the block houses. One of our favorite campgrounds.
Great place to visit!
It's not nearly as nice as Ft ransom. No electricity for camping with horses. Only one old heavy wheelbarrow and one small shovel. Nice trails tho. Be prepared to ride in sun. No shade for camping really either.
Cool park. Involves lots of walking. Has a center with lots of artifacts to look at and read about. A Indian village that made dirt and clay homes. It's very spread out, but you can drive to other points then walk. They also have paths you can walk. We spent just an hour and a half there. Needed about 3 hours. They close the exhibitions at 5pm. You can still drive around the park. We left at 5:30.
Friendly staff, nice Camping spots water and electric. Lots of history to see in the park.
Not very much of the fort is here. But thinking this is where Custer left to go to Little Big Horn. Where he in his stupidity leads his men to theirs and his death.
Park is right on the missouri river. Has a restored fort and restored native american village. It is well worth the visit. Nice sites and lots of history.
One of our favorites. Great hiking and views of the Mighty Mo and Bismarck. Along the hillside between the main road and campground the kids like the "hidden paths." Great place to camp, though the campground does get full and loud at times.
General Custer's replica homestead is here among the barracks and the fort's lookout posts up the hill are strategically built in 3 locations so you can see the fort grounds, the park and beautiful Missouri River. You can climb intp each outpost (with some steep ladder steps to the top floor) to take photos. Down below are reconstructed Mandan Indian Earthlodges that you can tour on your own or hear a park ranger guide. $8 for tour of Custer home & Earthlodges. Otherwise all is free to see (except interior of Custer home). There is a museum inside visitor's center. $7 for one-day pass into park. Beautiful area. Rangers are very helpful & informative. Close to I-94.
The history and how peaceful the campground is. Bathrooms in camp area are very clean.
Great park to visit in Mandan! Has a stable, bunk house, the Custer House, and the fort at the top of the hill. Nice gift shop and large book store with ND history books for sale.
Very nice sp with native american and usa military history.
So the guides were great. But the lady at the entrance told us that we had time enough to do both tours when fact we did not. We had to leave the first tour half way through and rush to the next tour. If you have three hours give or take and get there well before closing time you'll love it. However if you get there later in the afternoon this place rolls up the street at five.
A bit pricey for a State Park. We had only electric and water and it was $25 + $7 day use fee. But the park was beautiful. Some of the sites are crowded as they have 2 hook ups on many of the looped "pull thru" sites. The back in ones are best and have nice views of the river.
Rangers are awesome! Interesting history. Love the theme hikes each month.
Great place to check even if you're not into history. Glad they do their events on Halloween which is fun for kids. A little pricey though.
It's always fun to visit and explore. Great Campground
Wonderful campground with a comfortable Comfort Station that has warm clean showers. Nice hiking/biking trails, well groomed sites. Only downfall is the water for the camper is too far away.
It's a beautiful place to get away to for a weekend of camping, or just a day to spend with kids, family, or even alone if that's your thing. Rich with history from the earth lodges, to the Custer house, to the old forts.
If you love history, you'd love visiting this park. If you come in the morning you can take your time touring. They did have have guided tours. The guided tour for the Indian earth homes in the Slat village are every half hour. The guided tours for General Custer's house are every hour on the hour from a guide wearing an authentic wool calvary uniform. Handicap accessibility throughout park attractions. Cool gift shop with special latte drinks to buy, bookstore, and some outside tables to sit on. Clean bathrooms at all facilities. Don't forget to check out the online app for audio tours as well.
I have been going to Fort Lincoln since I was a child (for the last 25 years or so) and it has only gotten better over the years. It has great places for hiking along with historical sites. Both Native American history as well as the history of Custer. Great place to take kids especially for picnics, camping or fishing.
Beautiful and very well done... make the stop
So much fun, wonderful staff they were able to answer every question
Nice Park on the River, although the River can't be seen from most camp sights. Showers and bathrooms were clean. The park employees don't give any information about the Park. Not informational at all. Guess it's a seek n find place? Maybe they assume visitors know about the Park and the area? They could hand out a pamphlet. We were not informed of many things. I won't disclose, but check it out and good luck to pry for information. Camp hosts arn't there much to ask either.
Stayed here last summer. Nice clean campground on the Missouri river. Cool historical site as well, look it up!
Staff was informative however there was not much to see. It turned out to be a quick break for our kids with a $7 entrance fee.
Very nice. Custer's house here. Does yours .
Awesome place definitely a great day trip
Really well done park in a beautiful location. There are great views of the river, city, and surrounding countryside. We also enjoyed the history of the location.
I was a reenactor when I was there. So if I kept going back it had to be good & fun. It was tough to leave after the weekend was over.
Great place to visit on the way to Little Bighorn. The guide, dressed in period costume, made the tour of Custer's last home very enjoyable. The park is large with many interesting features.
Horse camp is nice, well kept and very scenic. Loved the scenic horseback riding on trails overlooking the Missouri River, and the historic fort. Beautiful.
The haunted fort is super fun
We camped here over the weekend, and it was surprisingly quiet. We went on several walks and always ended up finding additional routes and things to see. The park is all within walking distance, so we saw a lot without having to take the vehicle. Definitely a place for a family trip!
We rented a spot that was suppose to fit a 35 foot travel trailer with 3 slide outs. Got there and it wouldnt even fit a tent and a car. Do not trust their map lay out. Wont be going back
Great place, Aug 9, camp ground not even half full. Fantastic tours of Custer's house, Mandan Slope Village and many walking trails. We took Susan C advice and booked site 71. She is right it is a great location. We enjoyed sitting on the banks of the Missouri River after all the walking and tourist tours.
Really nice. Close to Bismarck. Really nice historical components and we'll staffed.
Helpful and cheerful staff. Good historical focus and presentation. Custer house worth doing. Park infrastructure a bit tired/worn.
Not the same but still home
Beautiful Historic fort.
We did the Glow Hike. That was so fun! They just need some porta potties along the trail next time, ha ha ha
If you have a young family, this place is a must! There are interactive sites where the "junior cadets" can "enroll in the infantry", shoot a rubber band gun, and learn about history at the same time. The Custer house and earth lodges are incredibly interesting to both young and the blockhouses offer a beautiful view. We spent the weekend at the campground and they had a program where you could be a contestant like on the show "Survivor." It was very much a family friendly fun time and the winning team even got a fire starter log! The only downside is that it can be a bit noisy at the campsite, but overall, it was a great time!
Excellent place to visit with kids. Be sure to climb to the top of the block houses for a sweeping view of the Missouri River. Lots of history to see and experience.
Nicely done Museum. A lot to see about history. Great views as well.
Our family really enjoyed the visit and the history of this place.
Nice park
It was a good time, apart form some mislabeled items, and a modern 45-70 case being passed of as old.
The haunted houses were pretty cool, the last house they make you go alone and all I'm gonna say is...they got me.
What a great place for a totally unplanned road trip. Spent lots of time enjoying the weather and time with family.
Beautiful park on the Missouri River.
Great indoor facilities, slant village is a must see if you are interested in the earth lodge construction. Great for kids of all ages. But bring a coat when visiting the scout outposts, it is very windy on the plateau
Great tent and RV campsites. Beautiful river views. Amazingly restored Mandan Indian village. Overall, one of the best state parks I have ever been to.
Great hikes with the pups. Great Views. At Missouri and Heart rivers Lots of history too.
I've been to Fort Abraham Lincoln several times as a reenactor and as a visitor. The Custer house is a highlight for sure. They are doing a very good job here as they've grown over the years. I'll be back.
Little children loved the playground. Campground is wonderful.
Beautiful park with nice facilities. Wonderful weekend getaway!
History and great location. Be ready to walk.
Great place to visit and learn about the early Dakota history, both Indian and US Military. Very nice campground for RVs. On the Mission River.
The park was beautiful, and clean. The power and water hook ups were way too far away from the site, lucky we had longer cords and hose. The picnic table was quite a distance from the site and we couldn't move it. Half the rangers could not answer questions about the area, and they charged us to death, the camping was 25.00 a day which was fine, but for us being able to come and go daily we were required to buy an annual pass for another 28.00. No senior discounts or letting use our national park pass. ( most states do) they also charged to see the Indian village and clusters house.
Great historic park minutes away from Bismarck. Lots of nice trails with great views up on the hill.
Fun place to visit. A lot of history to see. Nice state park. Enjoyed it.
Always lots to see, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We found some really nice walking trails as well. Some are paved and easy to maneuver others are minimal maintenance and require effort. We chose a more difficult trail and spotted several deer and other small animals. You can also bicycle if you prefer.
Lots of nice bike trails. Very nice camp sites
So much history and the buildings have been expertly rebuilt. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made you feel as if you had stepped back in time.
This is an awsome park... lots to do, lots to see, right on the Missouri river
Loved it. Spacious RV and tent sites great walking paths and history of the fort. Very reasonable prices. Cant wait till we can visit again.
Beautiful day at a great park.
Tour of the Custer House was educational, informative and surprising! Some of the owners pieces were actually in the home. The guard house and mess hall were neat to see, reading all the info signs along with the stables was informative. Good place to take the family.
Awesome historical camping area.
Great historical significance
Great time very informative
This is my happy place. My family recently went to the Dakotas for vacation and out of all the places we went (rushmore, badlands etc) this state park was my favorite. There are tons of things to do. See the mandan village, take pictures by the rail road track, visit the museum and army barracks. If you go, make sure you drive up the road to see the reconstructed lookout forts... the view of the Missouri at sunset is breathtaking.
If you are any where close, be sure to stop and check it out!!!
Very informative. Custer home base before he left on campaign to Little Bighorn Battle.
Clean nice place. Decent bank fishing and plenty of camping spots without being overcrowded.
One of the nicest State Parks around.
Always an awesome experience I used to come here all the time growing up in the bismarck-mandan area
Very nice
