Had an excellent time today with my 3 granddaughters ages 3, 5 and 7. They fully enjoyed themselves and I loved watching them have so much fun. I also joined in on the fun going down the slides. We had pizza at the snack shop. It was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. Would go every week if I could!! Everything was clean and staff was attentive and friendly.

It's a great place to take the kids. Slides were fun and water was perfect. Great lifeguards were on duty watching the kids and adults. Get there early for better seats/chairs.

My 3, 5, 7 year olds have a blast for a few hours and then they get "bored." Slides are fast and fun! It's small you can let the kiddos run (walk-lifeguards are serious about any kind of running)free!

We went after 5 so we paid the discount rate. We all had a great time. Fun and very busy place. Staff was friendly and attentive. Plenty of lifeguards. The carpet which leads up to the top of the slides is too rough in some spots, but I did not get any actual cuts from it. There are 3 tube slides and 3 regular slides, not to mention plenty of shorter and wider slides in the kiddie pool section.

Nope. Nope. Nope. Looks fun from the outside but super over priced and when you get in there are no seats or tables because people leave their stuff on them all day while they are on slides, the slides are concrete painted which is painful and if you weigh more than a hundred pounds you get so much speed it's gonna hurt bad. Dangerous. Creeps hanging around the kiddy area looking to snatch a kid.

Grandgirls loved it (and adult son). I would suggest to go when they open as you can leave and come back as you want for the day. About 2-3 hours at a time is about all the girls, 9 & 13, could handle.

My family and I visited the park recently. Came to notice that the “lifeguards” were dressed as if it was a summer beach day with their friends. All in extremely revealing bathing suits (super unprofessional). Most of the teenage girls were more worried about getting their tan than paying attention to the children.

Kids had fun but the people who work there are very rude and need to take classes on how to deal with small children. The day we were there I saw a small child in the kiddie pool step back in fright from the girl who was working the area because she screamed at her. They don't seem to enjoy there job .

Great park, life guards are very kind and attentive, pretty sure the owner was on site, paying attention, respectful to the patrons, and ensuring everything was in smooth running order. I was there 7 hours with my three children, all of them had a great time. I believe the prices are fair, the size of the park is nice as it allows for various forms of fun and adventure while making it easier for parents to keep an eye on their children. Excellent job with the continued upgrades, it shows that there is interest in constantly improving the park for people to continue enjoying their experience. We will certainly return.

What a fun day we had today! My mom and I took five kids ages 6-13 and we had a blast! Every single staff member was kind and helpful and truly seemed to enjoy being there. There were plenty of lifeguards and all were very much in tune to what was going on all around. It was such a pleasant experience for everyone! If you have kids, it's a nice place to let them get some energy out and have fun. The slides are astoundingly fun, but there are only 6 of them- the 3 tube slides and the 3 raft slides. As an adult or teen, it really isn't worth the price. Once you ride one raft ride and 2 of the 3 tube slides the thrill is gone (though the blue slide is so straight down that you're airborne for most of it, essentially falling a good 20 feet before it catches and launches you- which is great).

Wow! We had so much fun. What a nice, clean park that both my 9 y/o and 6 y/o could enjoy. The best part of this park is the people. All the staff is very friendly and attentive. Very impressed and a great day of fun for $20! Especially nice we could come and go. We’ll be back for sure!

The Water Boggan is a family friendly water park that has an assortment of different rides. From the thrilling tubes to the relaxing kiddie park, there is always something to do. While their prices are a little hefty, you will certainly get your bang for your buck at the Water Boggan.

Nice place to go. I would always take my kids there. But now with the new price $20 for a all day pass is very expensive. The average stay is only two hours. After two hours the kids are ready to leave I can't see paying an all day pass. Wish they would go back to the hourly tickets. When It was hourly prices I used to take the kids every other day. won't be going back.

This was a great place to spend a few hours at...they allow coolers (no glass or alcohol) you get a wrist band so you can come and go for the day. The price isn't to bad and parents can ride the slides with the kids too! My 6 year was plenty entertained and was Excited to be able to ride the big slides. My only complaint is it started lightning and thundering all around us and they were still going. I grabbed my stuff went to the office and asked if they were aware of the lightning they said yes and were going to shut down in about 20minutes. I don't think they should put lifeguards and customers in danger like that. Luckily I don't depend on others for my safety. I would recommend for kid entertainment on beautiful sunny days!!

Wonderful staff of young people. We rode a couple of times with our grandchildren and the staff was very patient and assisted us in getting on the mat and at the bottom was there to assist us in standing up. Kids had a great time and we had some time to relax. Wish there was a pool to cool for those not riding the water slides

I wish I could give 10 stars!! My 2 girls and I visited today for the first time and I was blown away by the friendliness of all the staff. The lifeguards were completely on top of their game the whole time ensuring everyone had a safe and fun time. The price was great for the whole day only $20 and the snack bar prices were very reasonable, also if they have to close the park due to weather they do rain checks. They have 6 waterslides and a kiddie area that everyone is allowed to enjoy, with lifeguards everywhere. Also going up to the waterslides was nice because they were ramps and not 20 stories of steps to hike up, and the lines went by very fast.They also have lockers for free, my lock was acting up so the owner came to help me, he was super nice guy. The restrooms were very clean, I only have one suggestion, it would be nice to have a few curtains for privacy in the changing area for privacy but other that no complaints. Great family atmosphere with lots of seating. We will be back!

OMG IF I COULD RATE THIS A 100 STARS IT WOULD NOT BE ENOUGH. two boys and $40 (20 each) and they thought this grandma was the best ever. YOU DO NOT PAY FOR NON SWIMMERS so grandpa and I had a blast sitting on the lounge chairs watching the boys race down the water slides, grabbing pizza in the snack shack and lunching with the boys on a patio set complete with umbrella ...lots of tables, lots of lounges and chairs in shade or sun whichever you prefer....LOTS OF LIFEGUARDS AND THEY ARE CHANGING THEM OFTEN TO KEEP THEM FRESH....just a super fun place for everyone....we stayed 6 hours and loved every min of it....family, friendly, clean and fun !!!

While its always a great time, they have given it a new paint job and added more to the snack bar. The lifeguards actually pay attention to what's going on too. The only concern is getting there early to get a seat with an umbrella but I'm not big on tanning.

We always come to this water park when we are on our yearly beach trip. We do an hour pass (which is very reasonable). My son absolutely loves it and talks about it when we are on our way to the beach everytime. The people that work there always cut up with him. It's just a really great place to take your kids for an hour that makes a big impact. There aren't enough slides for us to do a day pass but it's still awesome

Park was great for my two ten year olds, I went on a few slides with them and my husband, he has a bad back so he couldn't do the slides too much, It would have been nice to have a pool to just relax in, We didn't really want to sit in the kiddie pool by ourselves so we sat on the chairs roasting while they had a blast.

Screaming a shout out to the manager and staff at the Salty Pirate!!!! My grandsons came down for a week and a waterpark was on the must do list while they were here. My oldest grandson is autistic and shy. When he first saw the big slides it was a big no go for him as excited as he was at first about the idea. I had no plans for going down a waterslide...not.at.all!!! But I had a Thought..(oh no!!!) Maybe he would go down if I went with him. (I must be nutz!). I went and talked to one of the life guards about going down just once with him. She was so kind!! She called the manager over and explained the situation. The manager was soooooo understanding of the situation and explained to me that THE WHOLE STAFF is trained to work with differently abled children and I could go as much as I wanted with my grandson FOR FREE!!!! I just can't praise the staff enough!!! The first slide broke the seal and my grandson was off and sliding ALL BY HIMSELF!!! He wore a blister in his foot walking up that hill. Lol They all were so very very good with him and to him. It was a witness to a blossoming. I'm not ashamed to say I cried. Many many thank to you all!!! We will see y'all next year for sure!

I have lived in Carteret County for almost 8 years now and my Son who is 7 years old and I went there to Salty Pirate for the very first time today and we both had an amazingly great fun time!!! Before going there he was afraid and before we left he said that he wanted to come back every day! The water slides were so much fun for him and I and the lines moved very quickly. There was really very little to no wait times at all for any of the slides. Everyone was nice to us. All the staff and life guards were very attentive to the kids and making sure they remained safe and followed the rules at all times... I really appreciated seeing them take their jobs seriously especially considering for the most part they seemed to be very young adults with the exception of a few. I saw one very small boy maybe 3 or 4 years old wondering around by himself and he was afraid to go down one of the small kid slides alone so the life guard for that slide told the much bigger kid who was waiting in line next to wait right there for her to come right back and she went down the slide with that little boy. That warmed my heart. The life guards also held the mat for you while you sat down which I found to be very kind and they were also there to assist you once you got off the water slides if you needed it. I watched them... they were right there to help out everyone of the smaller kids and I thought that was awesome to see. I didn't have any problem finding a parking spot either so that was cool. The lounge chairs looked brand new and there were many of them all over to choose from with umbrellas and tables as well. The restroom facilities were nice and spacious as well as clean. I really liked that they offered lockers too. They also allow you to bring in you're own beverages and food... I even saw people bringing in their own coolers. If you don't bring something and you get hungry or thirsty that's okay they've got you covered as they offer food and beverages which included pizza and wings too in their Snack area. They also had Arcade games if you like to play those too. Something else I really liked is they allow you to come and go during the day which most water parks do not. Having grown up in Wilmington for 25 years the Salty Pirate reminds me of a place I grew up going to called Jungle Rapids. Now that we have discovered Salty Pirate I hope to make many more fun memories there!

Very clean. Plenty of life guards. Nice staff. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food or food prices. Restrooms were clean. It was $20 for my son to ride as long as he wanted. Little expensive, seeing as we weren't there very long, but if we were to make a day of it, I think it would have been worth it. 48" to ride all slides.

Fun, and not too expensive if you stay in the kiddie area. Otherwise, you're spending $15 for two...with variations. Tile and paint crumbling and peeling in a few areas. Fun for an afternoon. Cheaper than a movie, and you're outside.

I was very impressed with this park. I have 3 boys age 2, 8, and 11, and it was perfect. Small enough to be able to let the kids go where they please, and the lifeguards and all staff were relentlessly polite. They clearly have been trained well to let kids play and have fun while keeping them safe. The slides are great, the lines move fast, and there were enough chairs to find a shady spot. Very much enjoyed it.

Good for kids of all ages. We go once every year. Can bring snacks and drinks. Small children can wear their floaties. As of 2019, a ticket gets you admission all day (you can leave and come back)

small park we went here while on vacation and we actually got more than we bargained for my son and his cousin ended up getting coxsackie ... we went after 4pm which was half price..we learned our lesson... the place was packed! There were way to many kids for a small water park no way was there enough chlorine to provide all the people there. (updated) yes, you can pick up coxsackie anywhere however, this was the only place other than the house rental, that we went to during our time on vacation there in emerald isle.

A little disappointed I can't wear my water shoes on big slides. That hill is hard on the feet of diabetics. Understand the chasing of shoes,but I successfully went down 4 times without losing shoes. Before I was told I couldn't go down with shoes.

Maybe a fun experience for just kids. But you could do both the adult attractions in 30 minutes, plus there’s NO pool you can swim and lounge in (except the high traffic kiddie pool). Overpriced ($20) for experience.

Fun little local water park. We only go for the twilight hours because the park is too small to justify spending more than $10 per person and you can do every thing they have multiple times in the 2 hour window. We wish they would expand and put in a few more attractions, like a lazy river and a pool.

Had a blast! The attendants on the slides now hold the mats for the kids to sit down. I remember having a tough time with this when I was little, so glad to see them doing it for my kids! Also, the bathrooms have been remodeled nicely and you no longer have to worry with the 1-hour time limit, passes are good all day!

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!! My family recently went here and we had a little concern. I made a review and in a matter of minutes the owner reached out to me. After we talked I felt like the owner really cared and would do whatever it took to correct my concern. What even showed me more is that I own a cafe little over 3 hours away from the water park, I was joking and told the owner of he was ever in the area to stop by. Today was that day..... I took a gentlemans order and when he received his food he told me he was the owner of the water park. If this don't show he cares about his business than I don't know what else was. I told my husband and my husband said he must be a older man
