Awesome awesome awesome! This was our first time visiting and we definitely plan on coming back again in the future. the costumes the scenery everything felt like you was actually in the movie The wizard of Oz. I highly recommend a trip to the Land of Oz at least once in your lifetime.

Had a great time at Autumn at Oz! The show at the beginning and end was perfect. The scenery was magnificent and the characters did a great job playing their part. If you have kids or are an adult who loves The Wizard of Oz, I highly recommend! Be prepared to walk up and down sloped paths (you are on top of a mountain).

I'm actually quite impressed! We went for Autumn at Oz today with our family and friends, and loved it! We were a little hesitant to check it out since it "sat abandoned" for so long, but it's really a cool place. The staff is INCREDIBLE! They were very attentive to our needs and beyond kind, at all times! The crowd was HUGE, but everything ran surprisingly smoothly! The only "down side" is that it's not wheelchair accessible or stroller friendly. BUT, it's a great attraction! We plan to take our family back in the future!

I attended the Land of Oz tour 06/26/2019. A day before my tour it hit me that I should look up reviews to see if anyone recommended things to bring that they might have forgot or things you shouldn't miss in the park. After reading the reviews I came across several negative reviews about the park so I lost a lot of excitement about going. When I arrived to the parking lot I asked the parking attendant that was wearing an employee OZ shirt if I could bring a stroller because I saw reviews about strollers not being allowed. The employee didn't know if I could bring it or not. So I risked taking my stroller anyways because I was dealing with 3 young kids 1 being 1 years old. The driver of the shuttle "Chief" helped me with loading the stroller and made the trip up to the park a lot more exciting. After I arrived to the park I was directed to go down a gravel path. I ended up making my 1 year old walk and carry the stroller in hopes I could still use it. We walked down the path and the path forked off and I was unsure where to go because the employee was no help and she was the second employee that knew nothing about the park. I made it to the top where the fountain was and another employee THAT'S NEVER BEEN IN THE PARK told me I should go to the bar since I had 30 mins till my tour time. A BAR with 3 young kids!! I told her no I have young kids with me and she laughed. We continued to wait for our tour time but while waiting half the group waiting was intoxicated before the tour. So fast forwarding a little we made it to Dorthy's house (coolest part about the park) everyone was rushed threw so fast you couldn't enjoy or look around the house in the rooms they had decorated. After exiting the house my 4 year old daughter (whose obsessed with Dorthy) tried talking to Dorthy but she would not acknowledge my daughter at all. The only characters they had were Dorthy, Miss Gulch and OZ no munchkins or toto. At the end of the tour my daughter wanted her picture taken with Dorthy and STILL Dorthy did not interact with my child at all. I also thought there was a gift shop but at the end its just a table with expensive cups, pins and shirts.. THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR KIDS!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AND I REGRET THE 3 HOUR DRIVE!!!

Fun for the whole family. The staff was amazing. Too bad they’re not open year round. This is a must see!

The price is WAYYYY too expensive for what you get! First of all, there is only ONE male and ONE female bathroom stall for 50+ people. The "journey" was a joke - it's basically a 15 minute walk with several stops along the way. There is very little to see (other than the mountain views) - the tour decorations are minimal and poor. They wouldn't even hire actors to play the lion, scarecrow, and tin man - they asked 3 guests to wear a cheap item on their heads and read from a script! There were too many people on our tour - most of the time we couldn't get close enough to the actor to hear what they were saying. They don't warn you that the "after storm" house has slanted floors that almost caused me to fall. I was extremely disappointed that there was no Todo -only a recording of a dog barking. I can certainly understand wanting to revive the original Wizard of Oz park, but this is a horrible waste of money!!!

Stephanie Baranczyk

Great time for all ages. Plan to wait for bus rides up and especially back down.

Olivia Stegall

When visiting Oz during their summer season, I’d say the main thing to understand before ticket purchase is the difference between summer & autumn. While Autumn at Oz is a great time for guests wanting to spend more time viewing & photographing scenery & characters, summertime “Journey with Dorothy” gives guests the chance to interact with Dorothy. In the summer, the wizard, miss gulch, and Dorothy are the only performers present for the event (as opposed to the fall when all characters are present). The purpose of this is for guests to enjoy becoming a part of the story, by being given the chance to be chosen to perform the classic songs & monologues of the Lion, Scarecrow, Tinman, Glinda and Wicked Witch WITH the Dorothy performer. For those prepared and looking to be full immersed IN the Wizard of Oz story line, Journey with Dorothy is certainly a blast!

I finally made it to Land of Oz and it did not disappoint!! It was more than I expected and the views and experiences took my breath away. I felt like I was in the movie entering Oz over the rainbow! It was AWESOME! Loved every minute of it.

I was just there with my son a few hours ago. My son is 9 months old and loved it. I loved it. The staff was great and characters even better. The shows were perfect and as for the price a little high but was worth it for me for the reaction on my son's face. I got there early and was glad as I was able to get photos with the characters and not wait song. Would definetly go back.

Matthew Smith

Amazing experience specially for kids and the young at heart!

I felt extremely uncomfortable during the whole tour... I feel bad for the characters here... However, I am 16 and I have only seen the movie once, when I was 6, soooooo...

Couldn't get to it because of no trespassing signs.

My daughter and I went in June last year. Loved it

I loved it until we went past the witch's soldiers. I asked him to have a picture with me. He just stared at me. He kinda took away some of the joy of being there. Being there was on my bucket list.

I would highly recommend going to go see the "Journey with Dorothy" AND "Autumn at Oz." What some visitors don't understand is that there is a big huge difference beteen "Journey with Dorothy" and "Autumn at Oz." "Journey with Dorothy" is literally what it says; you go on a journey, with Dorothy, on the yellow brick road to go see the Wizard. Yes, they do pull visitors to become the character's (Galinda, scarecrow, tin man, the lion, and the wicked witch) whom are given props and a script. If you're not a fan of this, then I would recommend going to go see "Autumn at Oz" where they do hire professional actors to become the characters. Furthermore, if you're not a fan with just touring once with "Journey with Dorothy," (which takes roughly 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the attitude and size of the crowd AND how many photos are taken) I would, again, recommend "Autumn at Oz," where you can tour the park multiple times at your own pace. I've noticed that some visitors were also not happy with some of the ticket prices, while yes they are high, some visitors need to understand what it takes to create this amazing experience, especially for little ones. You have to pay the workers, the actors, the bus drivers (the bus rentals and gas), the merchandise (shipping and handling), the rental of the portable bathrooms, the costumes, makeup and props, the upkeep of the yellow brick road, not to also mention what is takes to also continue running the museum at the bottom of Beech Mountain, and there's so, SO much more. While yes, I do agree that some things need to be fixed, redone, and made better and safer, this will take time... and guess what... money!! Keep up the good work "Land of Oz." You have my full support and I definitely will be back.

How anyone could complain about the price is beyond me. I'd give this 100 stars if I could. My wife and I visited Boone and Beach Mountain specifically to visit Land of Oz and we were not disappointed. We rode the chair lift to the top which I recommend because the views are spectacular. The walk down the yellow brick road with our Dorothy was so much fun and we will have pictures for a lifetime. It is worth every penny.

This was the most adorable theme park I’ve been too. I am by no means a OZ movie lover but my wife is and I took her here for the weekend. It was worth seeing the look on her face but the surprise was how much I enjoyed it. The actors were so good and stayed in character the entire time. One thing I would like to note is that it is shorter than I would have expected. Over all it took us about a hour and a half to do the entire thing but that was with stopping at each and every character and taking picture with them (which they do not charge extra for or try to get you to buy their pictures). This is a great theme park that is great for anyone who has ever seen the movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff was always kind and accommodating. This place has enormous potential to expand. I appreciated the manner in which ticket time were staggered. Very efficient.

**All elderly, limited mobility, handicapped, or those who must use a stroller for kids.....do NOT bother coming** I came with my family, my dad barely made it to the top before the tour started, but the walking uphill on gravel in the parking lot, the trails walking to the rendezvous point are best described as a "trail". There were large tree roots, off canter rocks protruding up with little or markings. I am a hobby photographer, so hiking is a norm when I set off for wildlife photography. But for my 70+ year old parents, they were not expecting anything close to that type of terrain to conquer for a theme park. My mother toughed it out, only because of her two grandkids. My dad gave up before the tour started, there is no way he would have made it through. And that's amazing considering the tour is only 25 minutes. There were ZERO accomodations present for those with limited mobility. This was the most disorganized park of any kind I've ever been to. There was no real direction inside of the parking area, you are pointed to a parking lot and that is it. Honestly, the best part from start to finish of this park was the bus driver. We had Garrett on both trips, he was nice and entertaining, it made the 14 min bus ride each way much better. He is an all-star. I wish I could rate him 5 stars and t he park 1 star! The "tour", aka what you came for. Staff does good checking wrist bands for the proper time group, only at the first meeting point. We should have had around 15-20 people, but instead we had about 35. There were wrist bands that were completely different colors, clearly not the same tour time....in our group. The worst part about that? Each one of those who weren't supposed to be in our group were the pains of our tour. One family of 8ish wanted pictures with everything, everyone, everywhere. The other group of misfits were a bridal party, who snuck backwards at the end of our tour to surely invade another tour. There were no clearly designated smoking areas. The bar area, which had one men's toilet and one women's toilet.....had people smoking everywhere. There was no where to escape it. Awful! Let's talk about the biggest pain to me. After helping my mother several times in navigating the many stairs, uneven surfaces, railroad timbers, and very steep walking hills, we reached the end of the tour. We were 25 yards from the bus, and we started walking towards it. There was a lady there who let myself and my brother walk by her, but she raised her voice and made my mother walk back up the gravel trail. Why you ask? Just to walk by the "flea market" of $25 shirts and hats. She was purposely pointing people to make them walk by their shirt stand. I had enough of her smart mouth and walked up behind her and informed people they were getting FORCED to walk by their vending area to try and push their high dollar, high profit clothing on you. Really, really classless. If you have small kids, you will be fighting with ADULTS who are morbidly fascinated with this movie, who are oblivious to anyone else who also paid for the tour. We had adults cutting off my nieces to get to the front of the tour. By the way, if you aren't at the front of the tour or if people are talking loudly in your group, you will easily miss 50% or more of Dorothys lines as she leads your tour. And by the way, if you've rated this 4-5 stars, you are clearly dillusional.

I was so excited to finally get tickets to attend this because they usually sell out. I was so disappointed! They only had 3 people dressed as characters, handing out cards and hats to visitors getting them to fill in for the missing characters. It was really rushed and there wasn’t much to be seen. I think the best part was the chair lift. I was so shocked. Don’t think I’ll waste my money or time again.

I went on 09/08/19 and it was all I could imagine and more! I had been looking into the park for years and enjoyed every minute. I believe our VIP tickets were around $40? Well worth it!! You get entry to the VIP lounge, access to the museum, and a fast lane to the shuttle! All of the characters were very interactive and very good actors. We saw flying monkeys, dorothy, real toto, tin man, lion, scarecrow, the wizard, the wicked witch, glinda the witch, two munchkins, professor marvel, dorothys aunt, the three farm hands, mrs. gultch, and henry! Everybody!!! They let you easily take pictures/videos of them or with them. The house did a tornado scene and you walk through the house before and after. Awesome awesome awesome!

I remember visiting this place as a child. It was magical then and still has this mystical lure. All of the staff, actors and guides were amazing and it gave me great pleasure to visit this place again and relive a time of happiness and innocence. I hope they continue to raise money and get thumbs park back to what it once was and more!

Not sure where the reviews are coming from. Long story short. Staff member directed us back to bus line instead of tour location. Then we finally got going. You deal with only dorothy in a very rushed tour. Nothing to look at. Got to oz doors and they open to someones house on the left and their lawnmower. Also a stand that sells high priced cheap quality shirts. The attendent said the best time to come is september when the actually hire actors and set the place up. I love the wizard of oz. This was not good at all. Also on way up bus driver talks about oz. Way back he basically preaches..stick to oz!

We went a week ago and it was great ! The experience was fun for the whole family. The characters working in the park would easily give Disney characters a run for their money. I wish it could open again full time in the ski off season. If you haven't gone for this you should.

This was definitely worth the around $30 cost per person. We took the shuttle bus. The drivers were very entertaining and informative. The adults may have had more fun than the kids - there were a lot of Wizard of Oz geeks (I mean that in the best way possible - they made it really fun!!). The short walk through the house during the tornado may be a little scary for really young kids but it is very quick. It was a super fun experience, the top of Beech Mountain is beautiful !

We went to Autumn at Oz last weekend and it was great! They act out scenes from the movie and you get photo opportunities with all of the characters. You take the shuttle up, get off in "Kansas", enjoy a ew scene performances there, go through the house into the twister and end up in munchkin land. Then you journey through Oz to the Emerald City and meet everyone along the way and see them perform.

The prices are outrageous and for what? $150 for two people to attend? Really? I tried discussing this with their social media page and they blocked me and had their own staff members attacking me in the comment section. Really unprofessional. I simply explained that the price was really steep for the south, and for a family of 4 having to pay $500 was absurd. We were really excited to experience Autumn at Oz and merely commented that we had paid a lot which was a huge turnoff. To have the page attack us and ridicule our opinions and have their staff attack us as well is really unprofessional. Cancelled our tix and won’t be going. Also : they blocked us on the page. For what reason? Nothing disrespectful was even said. Just that I’m not impressed with pricing. This place seems to be run by a bunch of unprofessional kids. Glad we’re not going!

We went to the June Journey with Dorothy and for me unfortunately it wasn’t really worth the price. Our Dorothy guide was very good but there were way too many people in the groups to make it enjoyable. The journey itself was short with just a few stops and the parts were all played by people selected from the group. We walked to a stop and crowded around for one of the assigned crowd members to read his or her part. Most of the time you couldn’t see and were waiting for folks to catch up. There wasn’t time to enjoy the coolest scene which was Dorothy’s house because it’s first. The rest of the park was kind of a cheap fix up in my opinion with cheap fake flowers every where and really just a yellow brick road and a few wood gazebos. The longest part of it was stopping for photo ops with dorothy. the ending really felt like at after thought taking place outside the main park next to a regular house with the wizard delivering his address standing on a rock and his part did not seem well rehearsed. For almost $30 a person including little kids we could have done something far more interactive with less waiting around. There wasn’t a lot of interesting theme park sites to see to make up for the wait. We learned on the bus ride after the tour that the Autum in Oz is a bigger production with a full professional cast and a much longer tour with more sites. I wish the website would have better clarified the differences because what we saw was nothing like the the online photos. Or the reviews from a few months ago. I personally wouldn’t recommend the Journey with Dorothy and was put off enough by his experience to to want to come back for Autum in Oz
