By appointment only, or special viewing days. I'm looking forward to when it opens for general use. One STAR so far, not being negative.

The park's history as a land-fill is really interesting, but as a park, it's a bit limited. You can only go on defined paths due to erosion risk. We were able to walk over all the allowed areas within a couple hours.

Nice park for young children. New softball field.

A park on top of old landfill site? Really? Garbage wasn't removed, just capped.

Donna Jackson

The beauty! The flat bike trails! A really nice place to cycle or if you are a member of the Audubon, to see native birds. Looking forward to greater lengths of trails opening!

Really nice place to ride a bike and explore. The park is not entirely opened yet. When I went there was supposed to be a guided birding tour, but it ended up being an "explore" yourself kind of a day which I didn't expect.

One does not simply walk into Freshkills. It's Black Gates are guarded by more than just park rangers. There is evil there that does not sleep, and the Great Corey is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust, the very air you breathe is a poisonous fume.

Aliya S

Franklin Lake Park is beautiful and well kept. The neighborhood around is nice to look at. I enjoy my afternoon walks here very much. Beautiful birds,

This place is the old NYC dump for garbage. Why would want to go to a radio active park that was a land fill...

Tessa Rosario

The "kills" in the name is Dutch and means little stream. So Freshkills is actually a very nice name for a park.

Excellent option to go for a different adventure in New York. I been visiting and seeing the improvement they are making in this former landfill. It's impressing and very promising for the future generations of the Tri-State area. I already have found memories here. If you feel adventurous and have a spare time don't miss out and visit the park whenever they have openings. Make sure to subscribe to the email newsletter for info about the park and future activities.

Place is dangerous with all the deer running around! State or city needs to do something with deer population it's out of control here! Don't drive to this area or drive around, I wouldn't even ride a bicycle.

It is just a big open area only suitable for walks, running or bike riding. Nothing there really to see or do other than a very small amount a bird wildlife

They had free bikes and a bike path almost 4 miles long. Very scenic and beautiful---great for taking pictures. I can't wait until they finish the park!

Michaels Newman

It was a place where it felt wonder so this summer i will visit this summer as well.

Brian Thomson

This is not a park. It is not open to the public. It's a garbage dump.

Simon Onaly

Why name a park Freshkills? Well, maybe they try to tell us something? anyway, every green area is blesses, but they need to improve it a little by giving some more freedom to visitors. it is OK.

Zac I

It's still developing and as far as I see there isn't much of a recreation other than hiking. It needs more work in making it attractive to visitors.
