BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED, A MOVING TRIBUTE TO THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
Great memorial. We will never forget!
A place of so much emotion. Amazing tribute to a major event on US soil.
Beautiful memorial where people can reflect
Enjoyed the visit, well worth visiting.
A stunning reminder of the atrocities carried out on September 11 and of the undeniably bravery of those rescue personnel who gave their lives to help rescue over 15,000 people from the twin towers and as a beautiful tribute to the 2000+ victims of the terrorist attack. If you can visit the exhibition bellow, it is pricey at $26 each for a ticket but it is definitely worth a visit.
Very nice design what the victims deserve. Also nice ppl can place roses in the names when it's their birthday.
Very moving and very fitting. The flowing water is very healing.
The 9/11 Memorial pool is such a cool area to visit! The marble slate are cooler to the touch while the names unscripted are still is great condition.
Beautiful tribute to all the victims of 9/11. So glad we went
Well worth a visit. considering the devastating attacks that took place, this is an amazing tribute to all those that were directly affected, just walking around the place, you feel a sense of serenity and looking at The names that are so nicely carved of all those people that lost their lives is a stark reminder of the horror that unfolded on that day. The design of the memorial is fitting and I believe a moving tribute to those that were there - it includes officials, passengers and staff what worked in the tower. I for one am glad that I went to see it and it really was a heartfelt time to be where so much blood was shed. This is a fitting memorial to those that suffered in the atrocity in a buzzing and vibrant city. Make a point of visiting and I am sure you too will feel something in the pit of your being as you hear the water and look into the foundations of the 2 buildings that collapsed on that horrid day.
Something about this place. You can feel those people going down. Something runs through your heart at this location. You can feel the pain of all the family who lost someone that day.
Great respect to those lost
Thus is my first time ever going here since I was a kid and the twin towers were in tact. I never realised how massive the building's footprints were untill this day. Absolutely amazing the scale of ground zero and all the names on the plates. This is a very beautiful memorial
Wonderful museum that captures one of the saddest events in human history....and man's inhumanity to man. A very emotional experience walking and viewing those exhibits.
Meaningful Respectful Classy, rightly so
A beautiful tribute. Touching and humbling. They place white roses on the names on their birthday. I don't know why that touched me deeply. But it did. Thank you for such s great memorial
The museum is a must go. Unforgetable experience.
Definitely a must see. Short distance from boat docks and from China Town. Worth going to the memorial museum.
Beautiful place it's sad but beautiful
Such a truly amazing facility, only tarnished by a very rude female staff member on the x-ray gallery when entering the establishment.
Very impressive, evem after 18 years there are still no words.. The memorial is a beautiful place, you can read all the names of the victims.
Nothing wrong to say about this. It's a must see. #neverforget
Would recommend it to anyone visiting new York...must see and experience it
Beautiful and moving! Might want to bring some tissues...
Amazing building! It makes you think a lot about what happened...
Magnificent place to see a time back in history.
It is very peaceful and trianque. Be at peace. And be mindful if what comes from hatred. May the soul of all rest in peace.
Very touching experience. Not at all what I expected and was surprised by the whole layout.
Truly an awesome memorial. They did a great job remembering the victims and the tragic event. Well done.
This memorial is very well done. It's hard to believe that all the destruction and mayhem we witnessed has been reduced to this.
This place is a great memorial to all those innocent people who lost their lives on 9/11.
Outstanding creation. I expected much and was satisfied.
Is very good may be too big
Incredibly moving. I watched for my office building people falling from the windows that day. This is a beautiful tribute to them and the horror they experienced.
Beautifully done overall. A lovely tribute to those who lost their lives that day, and a reminder to all of us to cherish the people we love.
Extremely moving, appropriately sombre memorial.
ABSOLUTELY stunning memorial... I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to see it in person.
9/11 memorial is a very emotional place to visit. Should be on everyone's to do list.
The memorial is giving the right feeling. It is calm monumental and understanding. In deep pain about the loss. But with no hysteria. Gives thoughts
They did a good job representing what happened on this day. It helped my children understand the historical importance of 9/11. The infinity pools are breathtaking, and a wonderful piece of art to comemorate the buildings, and the lives lost. The museum is worth paying to walk through, masterfully done.
Strongly recommend for anyone traveling to NYC. Very moving. Prepare to spend several hours on site. Need the audio tour, app or tour guide to fully understand.
The 9/11 Memorial and Museum was unbelievable. It really pulled on my heart. Everyone should go there and experience ....hard to explain. Each person comes away with a great appreciation of our country, fire and police departments and all the beautiful people who were there to help during that great disaster. May God bless all the families that lost a love one
People were very respectful. This is a final resting place. Peaceful and beautiful. First time back here since and I am very happy with the memorial. Thank you.
Emotional and stirring! A beautiful reminder of the men, women, and children lost in the terror attacks of 1993 & 2001. The facilities were very clean and the attendees were respectful as this does serve as a somber memorial for the families and loved ones of those who'd passed.
For what it stands for the death of the innocent
Amazing. Really great way to remember the ones we lost at 911
Unbelievable! A definite must see in NYC. Best tourist/memorial site in my opinion.
Probably the best memorial I have seen. Very powerful.
A place to visit when we go to Newyork city
Every American should go see this if they are ever in New York. It is heart wrenching but we must remember.
This is the most impressive place in New York City. When in NY you must visit the memorial and museum. We bought our tickets at the ATM en could enter immediately after security check. It's big, really big, so take your time to let it all in. It's a respectfull museum and memorial. People who visit are very quiet. There is a special area where it's forbidden to take pictures or make videos. I was quite emotional and really took me back to 9/11 2001. We visited this together with the One World Center Observatory. You want to see our video check out my y outube FilipG Thank you for watching!
So pretty. Everybody should go to this museum
A place of remembrance and peace.
Beautifully made and a great tribute to our fellow Americans who chose to defy terrorism with acts of bravery.
Impressive. Beautiful spot in the heart of the bustling city
Incredible. Take the time to see and feel it all...it takes 4-6 hours to read, watch and read it all. We only had 1.5 hrs, so we paid for a "911 Memorial Membership" for $120 and went to the front of the line and recvd an audio device, map and a canvas gift bag.
Peaceful yet powerful. Welcome to public and museum visitors! Green space, seating, sun, and shade.
Deep and dark and dignified, fittingly sombre and respectful
Very importent place to visit when in new york. Dont miss the museum .
Incredibly sad but necessary. Beautiful memorial.
A place to mourn the loss of those killed in the building, on the plane, and the first responders who were killed in the collapse of the South Tower, and by the peer impact by the plane itself. There is a stone ring that surrounds this monument, and on that ring is all the names of those that were killed, white flowers signifying that the day you visited was that person's birthday. Overall it's a great but sad place, to commemorate those who's lives were lost on 9/11.
Both remberance pools are beautiful. Just remember that this is a place many people come to mourn, not as a selfie photo-op
The family guided tour was spot on in meaningful and family appropriate experience! The pool, frankly the memorial in so many thoughtful ways is really toughing and important!
The museum made me sad! Remembering the day listening to recordings and watching videos. However it is well presented and I definitely recommend it
There are no words to describe being in the place of the greatest tragedy.. If you feel the need, you must make the trek to Manhattan NY and visit this site. You will be moved.
Best to place to visit in Manhattan
I was in a middle school and watching the news. And I was watching WTC collapse through the TV. I didn't know what was going on. I was just sitting in the living room and crying. What a tragic history. We all should remember this place.
I mean, I didn't love it because it's so sobering but they did an amazing job here.
This spot will not disappoint. A great memorial for all time.
informational, clean, sad, price should be a little lower unless some of the money's are going to the families of 9/11
Makes you slow down and think of what's really important in life.
Totaly brilliant well worth the visit
Very tasteful to remember all those people in the tragedy
A truly breathtaking sight. Very emotional.
Don't keep delaying your visit. Make time and go.
The place was so quiet and somber. Even with the many people that were here. We are from Colorado and yet it brought tears to my eyes and I can remember 9/11. I remember what I was wearing, what TV channel I was on.
Moving place that takes you back to the horror of the day. The museum is very detailed and covers the time line very accurately. The sound of witnesses and families voices are very poignant
Must see place in NY. Be ready for a long wait if you are planning to visit the museum. It is worth the time.
What a truly beautiful place shame such a beautiful garden has to be in memory of all those who lost there life the people have done good in remembering the lost ones especially engraving all the names of the people who lost there life around the two towns waterfalls beautiful ❤️
It has history. It is a place to remember. And it is a place to appreciate the world we live in.
If you have time for only one place to see while in NYC the memorial and museum are the one.
It's very interesting to learn all about the events that took place on the day. It's not just how the day happened it's the construction process, public opinions, life after and so much more. We spent 5 hours there and we didn't even remember our hunger because we didn't care. Very well designed l, lovely staff and overall a very fun place for a family. 6/5 stars!
It was absolutely breathtaking and I absolutely cannot express the feeling you get explanation point to stand here 18 years ago and imagine these being knocked down on the anniversary was absolutely mind blowing. I still can remember exactly what I was doing and where about that day! Never forget
Every American needs to visit this memorial any time they are near New York City. We drove from Boston to see it. This was our first time to see it. We have not been since 2009, when ground zero was still just a giant hole in the ground. The museum told the whole story and was beautiful. The facilities are unbelievable and awe inspiring. Memories came back that we did not even know we had, of friends and associates that worked at ground zero in the aftermath, and ones that were in the city that day, and all of us that felt, we were there and it happened to all of us.
The design of the pools is quite significant in creating these voids or empty footprints of the old towers. There are white roses on some of the names at the memorial which they put out everytime it's one of the deceased birthdays which is a really nice touch. Exhibition was done beautifully but it's heavy stuff the weight of it all is alot to take in. One of the tour guides we overheard telling the story of his wife who died at the site and where she would have been when the building came down, then later pointing to her photo on the wall. Made me want to ball my eyes out but every one else seemed quite composed so I just rushed through some parts the end. You gotta go, but plan something light afterwards.
What am i looking at? The biggest pool on earth? At least it's very beautiful...
Well maintained monument. It was clean and overall great experiance, though it was crowded on weekend.
It's a unique place, it's pretty much unbelievable that an airplane crashed into the twin towers there, it makes you feel very small and vulnerable, you gotta understand that many things. You gotta respect.
To think that this double decker bottomless bathtub was the best design to represent death, heroics and tragedy just blows me freakin' mind. I really think they should fill it up with water and make a koi pond. To the tourists, kindly keep your hands off the banister and teach your kids about reverence and respect. There was terror there. I was there. It was a site of horror. Kindly show respect and then buy something to support my koi pond idea.
Extremely moving memorial. A must see for anyone visiting the city
A very sombre monument, shame so many use it as a selfie opportunity
It's a nice place, the park its very clean
Beautiful area. They did a great job!
HUGE and breathe taking is all I can say. Can't see the bottom in the center. Keeps going down.
Really felt very bad seeing the names. Merciless humans who carried this operation. My deepest sympathy to the family who lost their beloved.
Good way to remember the place of the twin towers and especially the memory of the people.
I was much more moved by this memorial than I had expected. It was so well done and beautiful
Moving and beautiful, you must visit here while in NYC
Emotional experience to the world's most compelling grueling act of terrorism. But very well responded and respected by USA Govt. One must visit and just feel. Oculus is very well and thoughtfully done.
Tragic memory. But the place is well maintained as memorial.
We will never forget New York
It makes you take a step back and realize the devastation that was caused.
Very solemn place Americans don't forget what they did to us
What a memorial to remember those who perished. Highly recommend a guided tour! NYC did a great job with the display and patriotism in memory of all.
Very sad but nice monement to commemorate it
It was incredibly touching to see all of the names on the memorial. It is a constant reminder of what happened on September 11th, and it is a wonderful memorial to those who lost their lives during this tragedy. I highly recommend coming to this memorial to remember the events and honor the victims
I visited the South Pool (& the complete 9/11 Memorial site) 3 times over 2 weeks & at different times of the day. Very moving and beautiful memorial that will always remind me both of the victims and the brave spirit of New Yorkers.
Gave us goose bumps! Absolutely worth seeing!
Very well made n reminder to all that peace will always prevail on this planet
LONG LINES order ticket online to speed up the proccess
What else can be said but very emotional and thought provoking
So many emotions but i have told everyone I have talked to go see this place. It very well done.
Very sad place, it makes you remember!
Pls visit this place and do some reki for the people who lost their life. Very beautifuly done.
Good morning
Very well done and maintenaned.
Truly this was awesome. It made me remember what I was doing when we were attacked. There was a film showing the president and others giving details about the affects of this event. Also, every Tuesdays it's free admission. The let the long lines discourage you because it moves fast. The admission fee is $26.00, if a senior you get a discount at the window. Do not get your ticket from outside vendors because they charge more and no discount. Military get discounts with ID. Enjoy
Love it and will return again some day.
Deeply moving, beautifully arranged, well worth visiting
Very very interesting would go back again
I would recommend everyone to visit this place at least once in their lifetime.
Epic. The museam nearby is well worth visiting too. This place is full of emotion. It is also beautiful. There will be people who list lived ones there so keep that in mind because they may be having a different emotional experience than you might be as a tourist. Hyper children, loud cell ohine conversarions, and obtrusive visitors can distract from the serenity that others need to hold on to in order to process their emotions.
Really makes you think. Beautifully done and it's great how the water blocks out the city noise.
A must see and always remember..
BEAUTIFUL place a must see.
Hallowed ground. A resting place for heroes.
This memorial is very well done . Must visit if in NY
The water is falling and falling... Ghost like shapes come and go in the moving waters as they plunge downwards. Very moving place and tribute to remember those that died here.
It really touch the real effect of this attack, it brings you back to that day feeling..
Very moving experience. The museum is a must do as it deals with the subject in a sensitive and emotional way. Tip: if you want to rent the audio tour you must have photo ID! Alternatively you can download the 9/11 Memorial app to your phone for free and a audio guide is on there.
Very touching to visit. Worth the trip to see and realize what a a tragedy it was.
Really brings home the scale of what happened here. The sound of the water drowns out the fact that there are so many people around you so you do get time to contemplate.
Mesmerizing.. Thought provoking
A magnificent memorial, very well planned
It's a beautiful place to visit if you are in NYC so many tourists from around the world come to visit.
Very beautiful place.
Very nice monument with lots of images, videos and presentation of the facts.
I am unable to express the depth of emotion standing at the footprints of the Trade Towers
Very interesting tour. As I am not from America I know about the attack but never actually thought about the details and this tour was very interesting, sad and emotional all together
Great memorial's for honoring the people who lost their lives in 9/11.
Everyone should be adding this place to their bucket list. About 2,996 lives where taken.. A beautiful creation, where we all experienced one of the most horrifying moments in history.
It's impressive. I was constantly torn apart from two feelings: 1. A lot of people died. Make sure they are seen. 2. This was an act of terrorism. Do not give it so much room and attention. The best way to fight it is to ignore it. I think that this is the right way for America to deal with this incident. It's humbling to see, that they put roses for the victims that have their birthday on this specific day. The amount of people who died displayed on the surface is overwhelming. :-(
What a way to give tribute to all people who got killed by terrorist attack...you all will always be in our memories.
Beautiful. Our visit invoked so many memories!
You feel a kind of energy, the monument in its self is a question of taste, let everyone put their own interpretation.
Moving experience. Even watching how lovingly it is cared for affected me.
Visited with family. Not many places in the world like this. Surrounding area also nice
Beautiful memorial. It's sad but a place you must visit
Great sushi rolls with lots of fish. Excellent Miso Black Cod.
A lot to take in. Sparks lots of different emotions
A place for quite reflection and taking pics
I work there every day it is a somber place to remember & reflect what happened on 9/11 where many people lost there lives
It was very emotional because of family member being part of the first responders team.
An amazing place. A beautiful tribute to all the people who lost their lives on 9/11.
Beautiful memorial to everyone lost at 911.
Incredible tribute to those that lost their lives as a result of the tragic event.
Beautifully crafted and built.
