This Park belongs to the category of State park.
A wonderful state park within a stones throw of the US border. The campground contains about 55 sites that include water and power hookups for the most reasonable prices around. $14 for all the bells and whistles. Comfort stations with showers are located in the campground for the use of patrons. It’s the best place for stopping if you want to visit Palomas, Mexico or learn a bit about the life and times of Pancho Villa and the Putative Expedition.

Great park
Great educational experience!!!
Small town friendly and nice town to explore on a bike. Bordertown restaurant Is pet friendly and a good place to get border crossing questions answered. We walked over to Palomis with our dog with no problems.
Great place to stop and picnic on shady veranda on scenic route between El Paso and Bisbee! Look forward to it each time
Nice quiet place. 14$ for full hookups is a good deal. Sites are well maintained.
Nice park. Good poncho villa exhibit. Close to great cafe. Day pass is $5.00 and well worth it.
Very helpful park rangers.
It's a very nice park most of the spaces are drive-thru the one lady from New Orleans and the museum was such a cool lady she could tell you all kinds of stuff about the museum we would stay there
I loved this park as a kids it's changed a lot over the years but it's still a great place to camp you can even have cookouts.
(Translated by Google) Good place to spend a nice picnic with the family (Original) Buen lugar para pasar un agradable día de campo con la familia
This place is wonderful! We were there for the 103 commemoration of Pancho Villa's raid on Columbus, NM. Great party!
Stayed there in March. Weather was good if you don't mind a very breezy day now and then. Nice, interesting museum. The campground was not too crowded, which is a big plus for me.
Best kept secret in the Chihuahuan desert! It's an impeccably groomed park with lots of spaces for campers wanting full hookups, yet sparsely populated after Thanksgiving. The 180 degree desert views were wonderful!
They may charge $5 to park here, but it’s very easy to park outside of area and walk in for free.
Pancho Villa State Park is a quiet, beautiful place. You are surrounded by nature.
Lively RV park that we discovered while being in Columbus to go into Mexico.
Well laid out, quiet park
Nice State Park a lot of history but it's hot no shade and windy
Love it! We come down every year, about Thanksgiving. No sewer, but 30A and water!
Quick stop
Clean, only $14 per night. Easy short cut from El Paso to Tucson.
Beautiful day here in Columbus, NM!
Beautiful place to Camp bathrooms are real clean
RV sites are in good condition. Watch pet because of burs in their feet.
We camp there many times every year.. Is well maintained park close to mexico...the town is very friendly many great places to see and to eat.. And of course the PINK HOUSE in palomas . this is 1 of our favorite place
Worth a visit
Only a few miles south of Deming, NM Pancho Villa State Park is a must see destination. Lots of history: Pancho Villa's US raid, First Army airfield, Blackjack Pershing, Last US Calvary expedition, with a nice museum to put it all together and a quiet, spacious, campground to enjoy. The scenery is outstanding. A perfect place in the land of enchantment.
Driving along the Mex.border we passed Pancho Villa. Good for a short walk.
Wasent there
The Panch Villa State Park is rather small, but it has a nice view, and a decent museum to boot.
Not very well maintained. 2 museums are ok and it's clear they do not get alot of funding.
Tiny little state park loaded with history. Nice rangers and visitor center lady. Water and electricity for $14. Short drive to Mexico. Roadrunners and white-winged doves. No shade, but cool wind in early May.
A small park that upon driving up you don’t expect much, but it’s definitely a hidden gem of the southwest. The museum is small but one of the best park museums I have ever been to. It even has a replica Jenny plane inside. I learned far more of the historic significance of the pancho villa raid. It tells both sides of the story and allows you to build your own opinion and judgment. The trails and camping areas offer a look at some of the original buildings and native environment. It’s also great that Paloma’s, rockhound, and city of rocks are nearby making this a great stop on a day adventure.
It’s a nice place to stay bathrooms are clean but they have big cockroaches.

Very nice state park. Very interesting museum telling about the history of the area. Friendly staff.
Interesting Historic location.
They have clean restrooms & restrooms
Great state park, convenient to Columbus and Palomas. Sites large, museum terrific.
Cool place really like the Museum
Great RV sites.
Cute little park and camp ground. Nothing to special. Some hookups, right off main road so it's busy.
Great place to camp
Interesting little piece of the U.S.
Beautiful
It's close to the border. No problems people here are very nice
Small but pleasant state park. Nice visitor center with good information about the local history. Good views from the hill.
Great park, Ranger Martin is very friendly and helpfull and the museum which captures the history of the 1916 battle between Panco Villa and the US Army is remarkable.
Interesting place. Surprised by the history involved.
Quiet beautiful place.
This is a nice quite park. Camp hosts are friendly, Park Rangers are helpful and nice. If you're looking for a clean peaceful place to stay this park is for you.
Not much here. Barron. 1-2 miles from Mexico border crossing.
Volunteer at exhibition hall extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Camping facilities great with lots of room.
Another nice NM State park. Great little museum.
Simple, and small, but packed full of cool exhibits, and info.
Big parking lot
It had some beautiful vegetation around it, and the park manager WAS SO friendly and knowledgeable, he even took time to show me around and talk about the historical significance of this park, and it meant alot especially when I came all the way from Sweden and my friends recomended me to go there and see it befor I got to Las cruces.
Cool place to walk through history. Ladies at the gift shop were extremely knowledgeable of the events as they transpired in 1916. The restrooms were clean and cool. There are a couple of good cases in Columbus to eat at. Bring your sunscreen and water and don't wear sandals. You will be ok on the trails, but you are in the tutor dominated by mesquite, catclaws, and prickly pear cactus.
Cool little park!
An educational experience and a nice quiet campground I will be back!
Fun place to visit in the middle of nowhere. Check out the railroad museum across the street and the nearby cafe.
Worth the visit. Keep history alive.
State park right there in the village of Columbus. Lots of local history to learn about in the park. Clean restrooms. Not a lot of shade. Mostly sites with electricity. Cool visitor center with exhibits and small gift shop.
Staff is fantastic
Great price for a campground.
This park is a history bomb. At the entrance is a small museum that has, in my opinion, plenty of Pancho Villa history and displays to keep you occupied for well over an hour. The volunteer the Saturday we were there was friendly and helpful. We paid a small $5 fee in order to use the picnic areas in the rest of the park but we just drove through. If you want to picnic, all picnic areas do have water, tables, shade, and a grill. RVs can stay here too. Take some time to explore everything, because this park is teeming with history.
The park looks much better with all the flowers that have grown in since my visit there last year.
The sites are beautiful. Pretty quiet at night. Not much to do in town. But a great spot to enjoy the outdoors. The Mexican border is 1 mile away. Visited the pink store xoxo
Birthplace of the US Air Force!
Bad place to arrive after hours.
Excelente sitio para conocer un poco de la historia de esa región, un poco de la revolución y de la vida de Pancho Villa
Good spot to park for the night or 2. Sani dump, water, power, Friendly people. Mostly older white retirees. John who runs the show is very friendly. Could talk to him all day. We parked the Toyota motorhome at the border crossing in the parking lot and spent 2 days in Mexico just coming back to the States to sleep. The pink store isn't a dime cheaper then any Mexican restrants in the states. They speak English well tho. We got burritos from the lady in the white little cube truck kitty corner from the pink shop and ate them at a antique old Coke cola table on the sidewalk. One dollar each. No beans.. All real meat, good damn burrito. Best we had and cheap. We also went bar hopping deeper in. I would recommend not to like john warned us. If you don't have 3rd world experience or big balls don't bother. Good people, but after dark it could be rough. At the brothel bar, flamingo we made a friend. I Kept my white ass from ending up elsewhere not wanted. Late at night my bride stayed behind at the motorhome. I Left the bar at 1am and crashed my shoes off a 14" sidewalk in a belly flop tearing myself open.... I believe, don't remember much.
excellent exhibit. insight into history
We really enjoyed Staying here. Clean and safe..
If your a history buff, this a great place to walk a see where Pancho villa attacked Columbus and got beat by the 13th horse.
Excellent location in centre of town and super cheap. Separate tenting area that is a long way from any facilities; badly designed.
Great State Park. Plenty of sites.
Great park. Plenty of sites. All drive thru.
Exelente carretera muy segura
Quiet RV park a stones throw from the Mexican border. Clean modern restrooms and showers. 2 great museums (1 in the park and 1 in town) tell the history of the area and Pancho Villa's deadly raid in 1916. Stayed here many times and never heard of any trouble. The park has spacious sites with desert vegetation. Some 50 amp sites now! And the best water around. All the sites are pull thrus. Good WIFI at the library. A few small restaurants with good food. All within walking distance of the park. Across the border the "Pink Store" offers great food and souvenirs. The town also has numerous dentists and pharmacies that are a fraction of what you'd pay in the states.
Muy bonito mucha historia excelentes productos
Very beautiful park. The rangers were very helpful and nice. Had a great experience at the park museum
Me esperaba más reliquias históricas de ésa época. Un pueblito abandonado por el gobierno de Estados Unidos.
Park is nice, only stayed for a short while, gift shop only takes cash or check.
Nasty
Vast improvement from a few years back. Volunteer/historian generous with his time, well-informed and enthusiastic.
Great place, very interesting Poncho Villa Museum.
There not no soda machine and snack machine in the campground
We really like it here, it's a comfortable and safe and friendly atmosphere. The facilities are top-notch, the rate is so affordable and the museum and Visitor Center is outstanding. The hosts that operate the visitor center are very knowledgeable and friendly. There is so much history here that it's fun to immerse yourself in it or just acknowledge it and go about your business of having fun.
The Museum is very interesting. I actually learned quite a few things
Nice!
Great park with great staff.
Fantastic park. Great history museum. Only a couple of miles from the Mexican border and Puerto Palomas and the Pink Store. A must see.
This is an oasis, three odds not a whole lot in any direction but this rv park is cheap. I would recommend staying here and checking out the heritage of the local town. The town it's small but has a ton of history. This was the famous location of the Poncho Villa raid on America. Some of the buildings still stand. The museum has a self walking guide book for free. They do ask for donations.
Neat park
Cute state park although its really nice and clean and facilities are well maintained the park itself has little outdoor activity to offer, they have a great museum on sit and across the road. As well there is a library a short 5 minute walk away and they offer free wifi and a nice seating area and often have book sales. But there isnt really any trails or hiling just flat land, you are right next to the mexican border and can stop into the town their, they are friendly and theres a pink shop there that sells awesome knick knacks.
My uncle watt rice severed there..we were so excited to find this
Nice historic state park There was a film about this period with Poncho Villa and the lead up to World War I
Good night. I wonder mail or any web site where the museum responsible "PANCHO VILLA PARK STATE" could assist me on a matter of information, thanks
A place to learn US and Mexico history. Something rarely not shown in school.
It's where you go for the winter.
Great sites and helpful staff
(Translated by Google) Simple and quiet place. Close at 4pm (Original) Sencillo y tranquilo lugar. Cierra a las 4pm
The hour changed during this visit was not pleasent
This state park is great. The camp sites are well spaced apart. The restroom and showers are nice and clean. The rangers have been very helpful. We went through the Pancho Villia/mlitary museum at the campground and it was very interesting. We also noted the campground was very clean and we'll kept up. Also the cafe across the street is a very good place to eat. The Mexican boarder crossing is just two miles away of you want to go there. The campground has lots of birds to watch. There is a large playground for the kids too.
Fascinating history preserved there.
(Translated by Google) A picturesque place (Original) Un lugar pintoresco
Good camp sites if you love dry and hot LOL BEST part is Restaurant real close in Columbus NM. BORDERLAND CAFE : awesome chef & wife are owners, good food, clean , & good prices....oh Good music also
A pleasant surprise I'm in the middle of nowhere this is fabulous Historical Park$5 get you a pass to all state parks in New Mexico
Ein lauter CG ohne Schatten, liegt an zwei Highways
Nice
Lugar histórico aunque no hay mucho por ver.
Very interesting. Avoid summer.
This is a very nice history museum. A little out of the way but well worth the visit. I was unaware of this piece of history before visiting the museum. Thank you very much for your education and preservation efforts.
Large open park, friendly Rangers usually quiet. Sites are level large and if look they have installed 50 amp in some sites, really only needed in summer. It is only 2 or 3 miles to border.
Enjoyed camping here because it provided access to many of the areas in South West New Mexico that I wanted to explore. The park is well laid out with sites that are easy to access, We were unable to get an internet or cell phone connection to our provider (AT&T). The only cell phone service we could see was from Mexico, limiting our use of electronic communications. The Parks Museum is one of the best small Museums that I have ever visited and shouldn't be missed if you are in the area.
Good calm place for a family time.
Great place if you love the desert. Big sky, dry, warm in the sun in the day but cool at night. Stars! Good close small border town with The Pink Store for shopping and good food. Very comfortable. Lots of spaces.
So much to do here in this little border town of Columbus, NM. Great campground.
This is a gem of a park. Large spaces and plenty of them. Great museum at the park telling a history that most don't know. Beautiful Cactus garden next to the museum. Large playground for the kids. No full hook ups, just water and electric. Just 3 miles to the border crossing and the town of Paloma. Some cute and tasty restaurants less than a 1/4 mile from the park entrance.
Highway noise from tractor trailers 24 hours a day. Otherwise a great place.
I had been wanting to come here for quite some time and I was not disappointed. The museum here is top notch, not some barn filled with dusty relics. It is clean with beautiful, informative displays. The docent was friendly, knowledgeable but not intrusive. There is a nice, but small gift shop. The bathrooms are in the next building and are very clean. We didn't camp but drove around the campground. The spaces are far enough away from each other to give some privacy. There are remnants of historic structures all over the park.
The museum is a great place to learn about history and the legend of Pancho Villa and his nemesis General Pershing. Steve Dickeson is an invaluable resource. He is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely loves his work. He’ll tell you all about “Black Jack” Pershing and his unsuccessful expedition to capture the elusive Mexican revolutionary and bandit whose name still haunts this town, Pancho Villa. Steve even gave us a drink coupon for lunch at The Pink Store across the border. What an amazing afternoon!
Beautiful
Camping très bien aménagé et très abordable. 14$ par nuit pour eau et électricité. Beaucoup d'espace et un musée très intéressant. Vous en aurez pour votre argent.
We really like this historic park. Wish it had 50 amp though.
Great place to camp and relax
Well kept desert campground with a nearby museum of Pancho Villa Expedition. Price was right for space with electricity, $14 in 2019.
Excellent stopping point at any time of the day or night for near border travel. Hot showers and a very informative museum describing former use as a US army base from which proportedly the last calvery campaign was conducted deep into Mexico. Poured concrete foundations from the past still in evidence including facilities for maintaining the experimental horseless carriage technology. Great staging area for trips across the border for dinner or a root canal.
Great park, wonderful staff. Not to miss when the cactus bloom.
