The history is interesting, and we enjoyed walking around seeing the sights and reading the plaques. The people are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

This is a great, multi-building exhibit on the Manhattan Project. It was originally a boarding school and the museum takes you through it's history from the school to a secret lab, to a world renown lab. It's a great tribute to science and it's impact on society.

Doug Tunison

Guided tour was great, but you can also do a self-guided tour. Museums are also great. AND oh so beautiful. Worth the trip.

This is my childhood home, plenty of outdoor activities, with trails, bike paths, free tennis courts, to name a few. Several history museum in the town for the history buffs and plenty of things to do and see if your are a nature buff. If the monsoons are active (mid to late summer) plan you outdoor activities for the mornings and you indoor fun for the afternoon.

I volunteered here years ago and loved being able to share the city's history with guests. I returned today and found a completely new interior with brand new exhibits. I was shocked! You can tell they worked hard to remodel the museum, though. It's easy to go through with tons of facts about the area. I really enjoyed it and I'm glad to see it doing it well so many years later. I highly recommend it!

Judith Allen

If you're in New Mexico this is well worth the drive north to see Los Alamos, where the atomic bomb was developed. Excellent museum and various sights such as the Lodge where the famous scientists would gather. It's well up into the mountains, not out in the desert like depicted in the movies and tv.

Nice place to learn about Las Alamos history

Lots of history and in depth information about WWII.

We visited this area as a part of the walking tour. My grandson had wanted to visit for awhile and had a good basic understanding of the Manhattan Project. We both learned new things and have a deeper understanding of the development of nuclear engery, both as weapons and an engery resource. I had not considered the depth of commitment required by all involved. The fact that many of the wives played an active role as well as fulfilling their tradational roles as wives and mothers was not a big surprise.

This way very well done. We had 3 7 year olds with us and had so much fun with the decoding project. We spent an hour and a half doing it.

Very interesting historical information. Some of the sites repeat information, but it's definitely worth going to see everything!

Mark of Operation Liberty

Small museum very well organized with lots of interesting facts.

Newer NHP, glad the history is being preserved. Wish there was more of a critical consideration of events. Ranger station is small. Did the walking tour of the town. Multiple agencies involved in this preservation of history.

Rachel H

Small, but very interesting historical site. Only cost $5 to get in and the Bradbury science museum down the street was free. One of the volunteers in the Bathe house was the grandaughter of one of the prominent people mentioned in the museum and shared some personal stories with us about Oppenheimer and the Agnews. Very interesting for people who enjoy learning about history and science.

Gregory Stiller

Enjoyed this visit. Not exactly for children. More historical. Difficult to find. Make sure you know where your going. Hours are another thing to check.
