Took a day trip upstate from Long Island to some places our parents took us 40 years ago on Barryville, Shohola, and Port Jervis. Very scenic area and a fun drive thru Snake Hill by the Hawks Nest. Stopped for dinner at Roy's Family Diner in Port Jervis and was just delighted with great food and friendly people.

This is our go-to camping spot. My sister has been hosting camping trips here for over 10 years now and every year gets better. We communicate well with the staff there and have pleasant experiences. Bring a good attitude anywhere and you'll be sure to have a memorable time. The bathrooms are cleaner than you would expect at a camp ground. I'd give it about a 6, on a scale from 1 to 10.

Really a beautiful place. The weather is always great in the summer months and the river is never too choppy. Great place to camp out, unwind, lose your glasses in the river, puke on the way out, make friends, lose friends, plan a coup de tat, and take over the world.

Nice ride along river, a lot of people tubing/kayaking, the motels that were along river are all closed on NY side,we where planning a few days but nowhere to stay other than camping

Wr kayak this (or rent a raft) every year. We usually stick with Indian Head rentals as we've always had a good experience. The river is beautiful and we usually see half eagles there.

I was at this location of Kenny's cosmic campout and let me tell you, this was a wild experience. Perfect weather out by the river with a constant BBQ going on and camping with a bunch of other people with little to no phone service.

Had the most amazing time floating down the Delaware! Had 6 rafts for 30 people and it was insane (we drank until we couldn't see straight) but such a memorable experience still! We laughed, swam, sang, spoke, and enjoyed silence like I never have before! Truly a marvelous experience and would highly recommend!

Beautiful Delaware River. I was fortunate to have seen at least four bald eagles in their natural habitat. My group and I were kayaking and I highly recommend it.

Omg the view was beautiful. If u enjoy the small things in life then this is for u. When u stop at the over look points u can read all the writing that previous ppl that had stopped there. Some funny some heart felt n others just silly. Watching the ppl going down the Delaware river is also nice. Meeting other ppl from different areas as they also stop to see the view is a nice experience. They also love wen u ask them if u can use there cell phone n take a picture for them of there family..watching all the motorcycles and cars going up and down the mountain is also great conversation and fun. Must do again

The Corridor from Port Jervis to Hancock, New York is worth a Weekend ride up N.Y.route 97, even a day trip. Since the Fed's came in some 30 years ago the whole Riverside is a more and more a destination for trout fishing and family fun.

The Upper Delaware River and the surrounding areas provide a whole host of possible activities. The river runs faster here than it does further south which makes for some interesting whitewater. Campgrounds are plentiful as are hiking opportunities. The scenery is wonderful too!

Explored this area for the first time last November, wild and beautiful. Attached eagle pics I took from the Roebling Bridge/Aqueduct, s/he was swooping in, took a pigeon from under the bridge.

Incredible views. Relaxing slow part of the country. Within few miles of several major cities but seems like a different world. Lots of wild life. Great fishing opportunities. Some more remote areas a high clearance vehicle is useful, some may say a must. Lots of different types and levels of accommodations in the area, from camping to top end full service resorts.
