Nice spot with a clean beach and picnic area. They take care to have a number of lifeguards and security staff on site; i found everyone on the staff to be friendly. There was a musician playing when we visited and I thought that was a nice touch. Kids have lots of options here from boats, sides and splashpad type water features. You'd have to pay extra for most amenities and access lines can move slowly. You could say the place is "old school" or a bit run down but I found it had charm that is hard to find.

I decided to take my family to this lake which was my favorite in the 90's but as of 2019 my experience was different , staff was not helpful , treatment was push away and staff looked lost and had a very nasty attitude , as a spanish citizen I felt 95 % of park staff treats spanish people in a non profesional manor , not to mention the amount of money paid to get in made us feel very uncomfortable , management was rude and some staff when you try to ask them a question they referred to me as just a customer and drove off without even trying to help with my question . we paid for a reserved table that we did not need because the restrictions they had in this lake as far as food in the beach was not enforced with other patrons but yet we complained but nothing was done , equipment as far as rental boat are the worst , poor condition and unsafe , no life jacket was provided and witnesses a lady holding a new born in the middle of the lake on a pedal boat with no life jacket ! this place needs better management and they need to treat spanish people with more respect , after all 97 % of people visiting this park are latin and from what I experience was a very nice crowd not the park staff . will think twice to visit this lake again unless I read better reviews in the future . spanish people pay with the same money all other nationalities pay with so why the nasty treatment !

I love this place. It's a mix between a lake and a waterpark. Half the day is fun on rides but there is also a nice beach to relax on. One thing to know is that the wristband to go on rides is an additional cost on top of entrance fee. If you are going for more than 3 hours than it is definitely worth it.

First, and foremost, this is a lake in the middle of a forest. You will definitely see Tadpoles, fish, leaves, flies, and any other living things in the water. It’s a FREAKING LAKE!!! Rate from 1 to 10. Ten being the best. Food: 8 lots of choices from burgers to fries, hot dogs, veggie burger, pizza, and ice cream. Customer services:6 friendly, nice, and help full..some people are clueless, and not helpful..Some of the staff did not know if you can eat on the beach and some of the staff did not know what time the bar was open.just a bunch of high school kids working who probably makes minimum wage and just there Bc school is closed for the summer. Cleaning: 8 campgrounds were clean and well kept. In my opinion they should hire cleaners to clean around the lounge area by the concession stand. There were plates and cups laying around the tables and floor. Bathrooms or clean and OK for being by the lake. Fee and prices: 8 prices were decent for entering the lake. The entrance fee is about $12 for adults and a couple more dollars less for our children. Parking is a decent but come early... you will have to pay separate for the water rides it is about $12 for a unlimited pass for the waterslides. Boats and paddle boats are about three dollars and minigolf is about five dollars. Prices are decent and cheap. This is a place to relax and chill. The rules and regulations are their for a reason because New Jersey people can be crazy and don’t rules and that’s why they put it there. I saw no racism at all and it’s all how YOU represent yourself.. No radios, no volleyballs, no ball playing, and no pets. You can swim in the lake by the water park and grill..it’s a place just to relax and enjoy your time with family and friends. And nothing crazy. Just follow the rules and they don’t bother you

Good for the nostalgia, not much else. Boy has this place gone downhill. As a kid, this was one of my favorite places to go. But recently the place has crashed harder than the Greek economy a few years back. A group of my friends and I were going to make this our annual lake trip spot but will be going to a state forest or elsewhere from now on. Upon arrival I was forced to park on a very steep inclined hill and couldn’t even back my truck in, making it extremely difficult to unpack the car. Our friend even slipped on her way from the car to the table and ended up spraining her toe, so thanks for that. Next, we wanted to get some breakfast cooked so we quickly set up our table and got to work, only to be met by a navy seal wannabe rent-a-cop who said we were not allowed to use our Coleman fuel powered stove. The park states no propane grills, fine. But no where does it state Coleman fuel stoves are not allowed. The arrogant SOB said it was “the same thing” Thankfully we came prepared with charcoal and a grill as well. After a full tummy we wanted to hit some rides but the wristband is way too expensive ($16 in addition to the park admission fee) if you want to go on just a few rides. No biggie, they sell individual tickets right? Wrong. Apparently not anymore. We went last year (2018) and we were able to buy individual tickets for rides. This year the EXTREMELY rude and unpleasant lady working the ticket booth told us it was wrist bands only. When we mentioned that last year they had tickets she said “well I was working last year so I would know we didn’t have them” K. Solid customer service. Park got insanely crowded, rent a cops patrolling everywhere like we’re some kind of test subjects, certain people who were actually using propane grills didn’t even get spoken to, loud music not enforced (If you love Reggeaton and Mariachi music played at 60 decibels you’ll love this place) just was very unpleasant. Water was nice and cool though. Aside from that, hard waste of money. Stay away. Go to lake hapatcong or stokes state forest.

I need to revise my previous five star review. Like many of the finer things in life Tomahawk Lake has declined over the years and we are relocating our annual trip elsewhere. The staff have become disturbingly aggressive. I am not sure if it is due to Lake Hopatcong being closed this past year but the Gestapo security are not very welcoming. I would suggest keeping your memories as memories and not ruin those memories with another trip back.

I have been going to this lake since the 80s, my family and I have always had a good experience. Noticed a change in customers, some are rude and disrespectful but the staff have always stayed courteous and professional, even when confronted and threatened. Some people don't know how to have a good time they are ignorant. It is a good price for admission for the day compared to other water parks.

Expensive entrance for just a picnic and swimming in some murky water. Payed $45 for 3. This is not a real water park. Is just a very small section of some murky lake with few cheap dirty rides that you have to pay extra for. And yes, they are dirty. go to a real waterpark that is worth the money, not this limbo. No refund as soon as you set foot in there. You can't really have fun either. No hammocks (ironic since is a Native American theme park) and No alcohol of course. Charcoal grill is the only type of grill allow so you can buy the charcoal from them or buy even the grill. If you like paying extra for something you can do on your own backyard, then this is the place for you.

Really enjoyed the time I had with my family here. We brought our own food and drinks and a radio. The kids had an amazing time! Definitely worth to get passes to water rides. They have a bar and restaurant but food is so-so. One tip is to bring table cloths. The outside tables were covered with leaves and dust. Also get there early! Bring CASH! The beach section for kids had restricted hours for some reason. Besides that, lots of fun.

Very expensive entrance, I've been in many other lakes and I've usually paid just a (car quote) that's always around the 20$. When we got there they charged me 88$ for 5 adults and a 2 years old kid, and none of the attractions were included on this charge. Besides u have to park where they tell you, making u walk a large distance to the BBQ area. We where having a Gender reveal little party, put 2 balloon's 1 on each side of a tree with a balloon string, and in 5 minutes I had somebody behind us telling us that it's not permitted. And besides that several other issues that I really don'twant to go over them. I understand that u want to keep everything organized and I agree with that, but if u gonna charge all that money u better give some more facilities to the people attending to the lake & BBQ area. 1ST AND LAST TIME I GO!

My family and I made plans in advance for Memorial Wknd to visit Lake Tamohawk, as we were all looking forward to having a great time together somewhere worthy of making the experience so much better. Unfortunately, that was Not the case, staff was rude and dismissive, bathrooms, disgusting, and to the old rude, white-haired woman working at in the office -- you're demeanor was disrespectful and if working with ppl has become a burden to you, retire or change jobs, because it was so obvious that your rudeness and bias attitude does not have a place where you have to deal with ppl all day dealing with different issues all day, you obviously are very lost. I don't want to make it a race issue, but majority who visited, as I seen, are Latinos, this is a privately-owned establishment, but, the same attention and mutual respect should apply regardless if it's a private or public place. This woman dismissed me and my daughter, 2xs, she was rude and defensive without cause. But, the fact is, all who visit Lake Tomahawk pay an entrance fee, and its p/p, the waterpark has a fee, the boat rides have a fee, the table reservations have a fee, their ice cream and concessions stands sell food, to who?? To all who visit and have to pay their entrance fees. As a private establishment I'm thinking that Lake Tomahawk functions on and depends on their revenues from patrons who visit and pay, and majority are the Latinos like myself and my family who visit to keep in business, therefore, all these flaws, these unprofessional employees should be trained better to learn how to deal with situations that should never escalate to, "It's my say-so attitude". In conclusion, my summer is just beginning and I will not be visiting Lake Tomahawk again, neither will be my family, my friends and all who ask my opinion, spend your money elsewhere, BUT! @ Lake Tomahawk. We all deserve to be treated respectfully and unbiased.

I’ve visited this establishment about three times prior and it seems this 4th for me was the final nail in the coffin. The employees are irresponsible, disrespectful, and unhelpful. I was bullied into buying a reserved table by employees because an employee ”thought” she saw “pots/pans.” I wasn’t aware aluminum foil was anything more then a cover for your food. MY mistake. *note the sarcasm* Then, shortly after my family and I decided to use the paddle boats to try and have fun. That was another mistake. When we arrived at the boat station, My aunt and uncle specifically requested a paddle boat in which they’d be able to steer, she pointed at one and explained “it was her favorite” She forgot to give them a life jacket or a reason why a faulty two seater paddle boat was her favorite and so they found themselves stranded in a lake with NO means to get to shore. I had to paddle my way back with my cousin and notify her of this. We had 4 tickets left and asked for a refund, we were then told we would not be able to get a refund but we’d be able to use the tickets when we visited back...ha! yeah like that’s going to happen. This is frankly NOT worth the admission fee.

Beware of this place, until you have paid the money, as soon as you have paid for the entrance, you immediately become not interested. on your notice that the toilet is dirty, you are told that if you do not like it, wash it yourself. After your remarks, they start carping at you, constantly watching you and dictate how you should rest. only they forget that as they have their own rules, the clients also have their own rights. I was faced with racism, the staff does not like Latin Americans, I personally am not, but my husband is like, but this is not a reason to treat people as second-rate. This lake is not free and if you charge a fee, then you must train your staff accordingly. Such an attitude towards customers will lead people to stop visiting your establishment. you do not know how to work, create conditions for recreation. the only thing you learned to take money for service. I will inform the relevant authorities about your wrongdoings. racism has no place in business

Ignore the rules they have listed in there website. In this park is constant police present but not to ensure your safety is to make sure you are not playing any music. So if you are thinking about spending a hole day in that park listening to music and having fun it would not happen. You may notice more than 40 signs that say " no loud music " but you cant play music at all. The tables are really close to eachother plus it is a table per vehicle just to point that out. Not interested in visisting again but good luck to those who would like to pay $15 per person.

It's a great place to cool off, especially with kids. They have 4 areas. One for kids 4 ft and under. One for kids 5 ft and under. One for anyone. One for water slides that's separate admission. Fun play structures in the water mostly in the 4 ft and under zone. A few negatives. No diaper changing stations. No adults allowed in the 5 ft and under area. You have to watch kids from the shoreline. This was aggressively enforced today. They are slow/don't enforce the 4 ft and under area until you say something. So multiple times large kids would monopolize the young children area and you'd have to ask the staff to enforce the height limit. Yes, they aggressively kick out adults from the 5 ft area but are lazy about enforcing rowdy kids in the 4ft area. Also the native American naming throughout the park is dated.

For the amount of money they charge and I mean for everything. I understand the entrance fee $15 for adults at least for kids shouldn't be charged hence concession stands with assorted varieties of foods from ice cream to french fries are sold are definitely going to be bought, you know for the children. If you want a good spot yes, arrive early. You got a private section for the low monetary value of $25. There was another section with umbrellas don't know why, if there's a massive tree shadowing already I'm guessing that cost more. No music allowed and many more restrictions even after. There's paddle boats and a ferry I'm guessing you have to compensate for that as well. Overall, it's not about the money. It's more about the experience and the memories you make, may that be with family or friends all that matters is you have a good time, enjoy the hot summer weather may that be soaking some rays or getting to cool off in the lake.

Pretty pricey when you add the admission fee and wristband fee for access to rides. Maybe a per vehicle charge would benefit more wristband purchases. Otherwise cute section for kids under 5, nice tiki bar with Karaoke. Overall nice place to visit but rough on large families pockets.

The place is pretty big, I went on Tuesday so it wasn't crowded at all. We brought our own grill which was a plus bcuz we got to seat closer to the water. My daughter really enjoyed it, she made friends and had a blast. We didn't really need to pay for the slides because she already having fun on the lake. The lake has water slides for kids and other entertainments. I've never been on weekend but I'm pretty sure it gets crowded. I didnt really swim in the deep side because I when i see things floating around and dead insects and stuff i just cant .

Dirty water. For everything you have to pay extra. In addition, I injured my leg - On the slides you must be without shoes so, going in a trail, you can easily step on sharp rocks. This is a place is perfect for the whole family. They have a beer garden, water rides, and water games, paddle boats, mini golf, bumper water cars, giant inflatable swans,and a boat that goes around the lake. Great place especially for campers, but one suggestion-since there aren't shoes allowed to be brought around the slides-after some of the kids burnt their feet from walking on the pavement leading to the slides, why not cover the "sidewalk" with sand or wood padding...or make another one altogether? Aside from some nursing some burnt feet, adults are also in charge of making sure their kids don't get run over by the cars and trucks they randomly drive through the park paths that people use to get to the slides!!

Owner is a complete d**k. They have 30 life guards. Each life guard should have 25 people so in total there should be 750 people. They had OVER 4,000 people. You literally couldn’t move. The children were all jumping on each other. And when I told the owner that it is way to over populated he got in his golf card and just turned his back and left. Completely disrespectful. Never again.

The staff of that "water park" are very rude and not worth dealing with. They try to police everything you do. I've never seen so many rules signs in a park that isn't even worth going. There is not refunds so, he staff WILL have this weird behavior towards you. Trying to relax in there is very uncomfortable as an adult, for kids is mediocre at best. Maybe because kids tends to like anything that is a water puddle with crummy rides on it. They say they are "popular," YET they failed to be overcrowded on a perfect weather in a Saturday. I personally don't like when parks are overcrowded, but when I arrived to this place for the first time (and last time), I expected it to be full house but... it wasn't. Gee, I wonder why. Do you want to relax on a hammock enjoying a perfect weather? no you can't. I saw one of the rude staff policing to some old Hispanic man that tried to set a hammock. The poor man ended having his siesta on the floor. NO bikes, No alcohol, no hammock, NO fun allow. Everything about this place is bland and boring, let alone dirty. If you love yourself, go somewhere else.

We went recently and they closed off part of the lake because of high levels of bacteria. My kids wound up getting sick for a few days after. They should have closed off entire area instead of staying open. That was irresponsible and my family and I will never go again.

Amazing lake, great water activities for the kids and adults. Lots of picnic areas and the food concessions were delicious, great price, and very varied. Wish we knew about this place sooner, will go back next year.

The price isn't bad, however for children under 3, I don't think they should be charging $12. They have a great children section in the swimming area and an older children section. There are many slides to choose from and other activities to do like minigolf, and sports. You do need to know how to swim to ride some slides and do some activities. There are plenty of picnic tables and sufficient space for barbecues (you have bring your own grill.) The biggest issue for me was the cleanliness of the water. It is green and murky. Be sure to check the weather forecast before you come!!!

Fantastic summer leisure lake. Gorgeous grounds immaculatey maintained with well thought out water entertainment for all ages of toddlers and children as well as adults. Our day was a company party which was catered and the good was delicious. Just enough. Every one had a wondsrful time and some suggested we come back again. Better than the photos on the website!

I enjoyed the lake but I did not like the fact that you can not be in some parts of the water with your children even just to watch them everyone can not swim but if you are able to stand in the water just to make sure your child is safe.

Entry fee is $15 per person and extra $16 for water rides. At that price you will expect better services There are no open play area, no kids swing area and bathrooms were so dirty. Its a rip off.

Clean lake. Very attentive lifeguards at the lake!! They saved two lives during one of our trips there. Rides are in good condition and reasonably priced.
