REVIEWS OF Liberty State Park IN New Jersey

This area is great to enjoy a picnic, time with family or just a walk. The Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty make for some good photo backgrounds.

Racheal P

I loved this place! I was so excited to be able to get to this park and enjoy the scenery. Next time I'll definitely visit the Statue of Liberty itself, but you were able to get a good view even with the clouds, we went the day after a bad storm and the fog was ridiculous! Clean park and a good place to walk along the water. Definitely good to bring kids her or even pets.

Tertulia Corrina Paris

Love at first visit. Didn't see the time go by. A lot to see. Perfect to hangout with friends, family, your partner or even if you're looking for some time alone.

Bethany Olson

Loved this place!! The sidewalk actually gets you pretty close to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It's very wide so there is plenty of room for walking, jogging, sitting, and taking pictures. We spent a couple hours here because we walked all the way to the end of the sidewalk and sauntered back and stopped frequently to take pictures.

Nance A

Beautiful place to spend anytime of the day. Picnic, walking, relaxing, taking pics or just taking in the views. Lots of share and free parking. Restrooms availabilities and benches. Theres also a kids playground. Don't forget to take a walk to a part of history while you are there.

Zoey Jolley

Loved going and seeing Lady Liberty up close. We got the pedestal tour. Wear comfy shoes to go up all the stairs. Enjoy your time and plan ahead if you need to so that you can get tickets to go to the crown if possible.

Asif Mukhida

One of the best place to visit in New Jersey to visit lower Manhattan and also statue of Liberty. It has got one of old train station where is to know the history and ferry pick up point which takes you to ellis island and state of liberty. It has got empty sky memorial which was build exactly opposite to world trade center and is for remembrance of all innocent new Jersey residents you lost their lives on that day. Also got many view points from where you can view lowe Manhattan and also an end point from where you can visit statue of liberty from a close distance. Visit it for sure with your family for some relaxing time!!

mjerman27

What a great day. The weather was fabulous. Everyone in the park seemed to be having a wonderful time. I couldn't ask for a better visit to the park with my son and daughter. Recalling the many memorable moments we shared there as they were growing up. It's a great place for families, lovers, seniors, health enthusiasts and anyone seeking a quiet time with GREAT views

Kenneth Tarver

It has a really good playground area with benches, tables, and grills. The water is beautiful and the view of NY and the Statue of Liberty is wonderful. Very good place to bring kids and even to go for a nice walk or jog.

gregory goodridge

I visit this area all summer long via the waterways. You can dock and dine and then take a stroll along the waterfront. You've got two restaurants to choose from that have very good food... one has a killer view of the city.

Anton Sri Probiyantono

The location is beautiful but there's no clear direction on how to reach the Liberty Statue. I had to ask several people (who had to open their gadget) to help me. It would be more helpful if there were clear guidance (board) on how to get there at train station and other park area. Thanks

Chi Ndukwe

Educative and a distracting place to take the kids and the young at heart.. never fails to amaze with the various exhibitions. But make sure you are well fed before you go because the food there could be a little pricey.

Kikio Iwai

Loved it the first time.

Jeanmarie Arman

It's a very cool place to take the ferry to statue of liberty. Not as crowded as battery park. Liberty State Park is full of amazing history. Highly recommend .

angel torres

So this is original fettuccine collection with pasta dough, and I'm doing real good job.

Nidhi Singh

Lovely park with great views. Our dog loved running around in snow here when we lived in Jersey City. It has a 9/11 memorial that is worth the visit. If you are a runner this park has some paths to run with great city views. It if you live in jersey city it’s a fun walk/run to the park. If you are visiting the Statue of Liberty you are bound to be in the park to catch the boat. I would spend some time just hanging around and perhaps eat at one the restaurant that will give a one of the best views of status of liberty and downtown Manhattan

Imron Sarwar

A nice place to go with the family/friends or kids. I really liked the place. There was a family reunion at the time we went and everyone was having a great time. Other people were in the park, walking, running, kids playing in the playground. Overall a nice place. The facilities were well maintained. I enjoyed the stunning view of big apple from quite park. It was breathtaking. DEFINITELY GOING BACK FOR MORE VISITS!!!

Garrett Faull

Beautiful park so nicely done. This is well worth the visit. I would do it again

David Bennett

We rode the Hudson Bergen Light Rail to the Liberty State Park station. From there you walk into the park almost a mile to the former Central Railway of New Jersey train/ ferry station. There you can buy or pick up your printed tickets. Then proceed outside to the large whit tent that is the security screening area. Then you simply wait for the ferry that will take you to Ellis Island first.

KINGPARTH PATEL

Awesome place to visit for picnic and to relax. This place is clean and gives peace to mind when one is present at this place

Zorida Magee

Great view nice place for picnic can take boat ride couple of good restaurant

Craig Davis

The park is a really good place. The view from the park is amazing. If you are a photographer you get a good shots from this spot. I was before a week there and the weather was perfect so we spend the whole day in the park. Next day off we may go there ageing.

Shinnok DLS

Nice park to run or unwind. Spread a blanket and look at the clouds, picnic. Somewhat quiet.

John Ohanian

Huge, expansive oasis in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island with panoramic views of New York harbor and the Manhattan skyline. Lots of options for passive recreation as well as biking, running and walking. The historic Central Railroad of New Jersey terminal (formerly known as Communipaw Terminal) is a popular attraction and features a nice narrative on the famous Blue Comet. It also serves as the departure point for ferries to Ellis and Liberty Islands. I left off a star because it is hard to access without a car (or tour bus). The light rail station is outside the park and is quite a walk to the center of it.

Crystal Smith

Some beautiful sites, good information. With this being my first time out here I was a little confused on when I was supposed to take my tour that I spent more money on. The hard hat tour was super awesome and worth the time and money. Highly recommend if your going to tour the island..

Lynn Hutchinson

Was here for a birthday party and the park is awesome. So much for the kids to do and everything was clean and well kept.

Krishna Singh

Take your inquisitive kids there! It's a fun and very informative place to venture!

Becky Colon

Cool place to get away from the busy city. Great place to bring the family

Brian Heinrich

Beautiful and breathtaking. Plenty of parking to see the skyline from across the Hudson. You could stay all day and find something you missed the last time you looked.

Avraham Lifshitz

It was a quiet, beautiful place to stroll with a n impressive view of the statue of liberty. There were bathrooms, a shaded playground for kids and a large grassy field to sit in.

Jessica

Beautiful park. Lots of places to sit. Great views of the city and the Statue of Liberty however you can only see her backside. You would probably need to take a ferry to see the front side. Lots of trees and dogs allowed. Free parking. Wear tennis shoes because it’s a little bit of a walk from parking lot to the waters edge in the park. Plenty of great photo opportunities.

AngryGoat 6.0

I love this park. I went to take a long walk and enjoy the view. I have been during the weekend when the park was very busy and crowded. During the weekend you would smell all the good smelling BBQ and grilling going on. But, on this Wednesday it wasn't so crowded. In fact it wasn't busy at all which made for a great quite walk. To see the statue of liberty and the New York skyline is always nice. The water was calm and a large Clipper Sail boat was slicing through the Hudson making it that much better. A storm rolled in and seeing the lighting flashing around the New York skyline was also an amazing site to see. I strongly recommend visiting Liberty State Park.

Azmat Alvi

One of the best places to view the NY skyline. Amazing views. There’s nothing much to do in the Park as such but you can view the old railroad stations before the subways kicked in. Also the Ferry to the Statue of Liberty is less crowded from here than it is from Battery Park, plus they have a 9/11 memorial as well.

Beverly Hendricks

Surprisingly nice place to visit with beautiful views of Manhattan, particularly the World Trade Center/financial district. Location of a memorial honoring those from NJ who lost their lives on 9/11. It has a nice railroad terminal museum and boat access to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Also, Water Taxi service is available to near the Colgate Clock and a few other places. The Liberty Science Center is located in the NW corner of the park.

Hari Iyer

This is 1 of those iconic American tourist attraction places that everybody has to visit. The views of New York City from Liberty State Park NJ are amazing. For parking there are 2 options. 7$ parking if you want to take the Ferry to see the statue up close. Or a 2 hour free parking if you want to just see the 9/11 monument..do a picnic in the park..take in the views and come back. Statue is well hidden that you cannot just see it without taking the Ferry. It is worth it. Ferry tickets to see Ellis island and Lady Liberty is 18$ for an adult. I visited in July 2019. There is a security check before Ferry ride so carry things carefully. Small bags..food etc is allowed. At least 2 restaurant kind of places in the island where liberty is located. You get pizza, fries, burgers etc. Special ticket needed to go on top of that statue. That needs to be done online in advance since it needs reservation 6 months in advance.

Jessice Martinez

Excellent place to be if you like to spend some time with your family a lot of activities lotta barbecues come out and visit.

Ajay George

Good park to walk around with kids and get close to the statue of liberty. I am giving it a 3 star only because the rest rooms are very badly maintained. I hope the management take some interest in maintaining the rest rooms. Otherwise the park is really good.

Theodros Seyoum

Great views. Great for kids with a small playground. Bbq grills. Book the grills really early during the warm months, like weeks in advance.

Eqbal Anwari

Liberty State Park in Jersey City of NJ is easy to get to. It’s an all-age-friendly public space with spectacular view of Manhattan and Jersey city skylines. One can have the ultimate view of Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. For visitors with cars, there’s the convenient option of parking. Add to that, there’s also set-up for BBQ and play-ground.

Rosemarie Perretti

The Water Lantern Festival was here. Lovely views, cant beat it. I wasn't sure what to expect. It was a beautiful moving festival. I will attend again. Complaints are -they needed more organized transportation, signs, restrooms and cleaner facilities. Overall good event

Gerry P

Great place for a walk and to catch some great views of downtown Manhattan. There is a kids playground with several innovative installation that kids seem to like.

Alexey Alexeev

Huge park. But it feels like empty, without bike or any other activities you will not bring with yourself - nothing to do here. Kids playground don’t have swings and don’t have enough trees - so kids always under hot sun.

Kevin Umanzor

I love this park. In my opinion it's the best park in the world for is view of the New York City skyline and the Statue of Liberty and also the Brooklyn Bridge. The pictures that can be taken here are breathless. The best time to take pictures are sunset, that's when the sun refects off of the buildings and gives them a glow. Would recommend this park to anyone. It's great for families.

Reina Ramirez

Park is clean. The new museum is beautiful. While in line to leave the island, I got pooped on by birds twice but hey I don't hold it against them. Just a warning for future visitors.

Chantel Platt

Great park, amazing view. It’s a bit of a drive but worth it for the scenery and the playground. Would love to have a picnic or photo shoot here.

Syed Kutub Uddin Ahmed

In summer this place is a must to visit. I have been there for many times, everytime it feels more refreshing. Especially at dusk, the lights at gotham city buildings are amazing.

Sunil Tandon

The best park to see the NY skyline. There's a 2 hr free parking available at the park which is an added bonus. You can catch ferry to statue of liberty and Ellis island. The parking is also cheaper at just $7. Loved it !

Kirk Lung

Free park on far side. Have short rental bike over to ferry to ellis. Well done relaxing. Hear the shore. Nice people in visitor center great view back of liberty

arnold harris

Really a very nice place. I loved it more than you can imagine. It has a place in my heart.

johanna trowell

It was truly an awesome experience to visit this park. I am 52 years old and have never seen the Statue of Liberty. Went with my niece and my granddaughter, I don't think they'll ever forget this visit. We went to the Jersey side not the New York side.

Celltech Stamford

Did not like it one bit. Minimal small signs for directions & hard to find... really long walk to the boat area an again poor signs for u to know where to go. It rained hard while we were there waiting for the boat, & all we could hear were some employees complaining about closing an going home. The airport like security was comforting... felt safe.

Meli Stafford

Nice view while sitting on a bench. Plenty of parking, but only 1 exit and 1 car at a time through the toll booth. Have patience when it's time to leave.

Robert Castro

Nice views, but hard to get around for people with mobility issues.

Pr

It's a great place to see the different views of New York city, Manhattan and Jersey city from island. Kids will enjoy the ferry rides. Parking is bit difficulty on long weekends. It's little confusing to find the cruise docking place to go for ferry ride. GPS doesn't work properly. I felt ferry ride ticket prices are bit expensive. It's worth to try one time. It's a wonderful experience.

R Ravi

Excellent place to visit. Planned in a short time and couldn’t reserve tickets online for pedestal or crown. Got only general admission which covers ferry tickets to Ellis island and liberty park from NY city/ Jersey city. The liberty park museum was good and the movie played on history of liberty statue was useful. Don’t miss to create your posts on wall of liberty inside museum. There are multiple kiosks available to create your posts. There are multiple spots on the grounds around Statue of Liberty to take pictures. The Ellis island will impress you if you’re history lover. Overall it’s worth visiting!

Adam D

Loved it, good biking paths and lots of tables n benches for an eat out. Great place for my kids to play around

Mohit Mehta

Love this park. All around amazing views and very easily accessible. They also have plenty of biking paths. Citi bikes are available too. During the summers, they have food trucks and love music on Sundays from 5-7 pm.

Joseph Bragg

I love this park! Obviously can't beat the views but it also has everything you can ask for in a park. Boat slips, Liberty Science Center, Statue of Liberty, Liberty House Restaurant ($$$), Trails, Grills, Playgrounds

doretha hancock

I enjoyed the green grass New York skyline and a fairy ride to statue of liberty was less than $20. Great family trip. Only food available is finger food and snacks. For real food take the fairy to New York. Have fun.

X-8 Lace

Nice park with a great view of the Hudson River, and many many more sights and things to do.

Anthony R

Nice place to sit and relax has an amazing view of the statue and city line.

Brian Grimes

Amazing trip to Ellis Island with my students. The most amazing part of the trip was the graffiti uncovered by historians. See the attached photos.

Michel de Ligt

A very nice maintained park. Nice walking paths and off course beautiful views of New York City. You can get here with the light rail or by car. And you also can get the ferry to Ellis island and / or the statue of liberty.

Yogesh Sankhé

Nice promenade for an evening walk. We had to book the tickets for the ferry from here. Not enough directions or signs in the park itself for the procedure for booking tickets. They should improve this. Looks like a non decsript place when we get there. This place also has an old rail road station which is in a derelict condition. They could keep this in a proper condition with information. This could be a jewel in the crown for the liberty state park. Maybe get a old railway engine as a museum piece.

ravi y

Nice park with great views to Downtown NYC. Amazing location to spend time away from buzzing city traffic. Good for running and cycling

Jose Roman Lowe

A Tranquil getaway from the busy life in the city. A park where you can give yourself a mental relief and spend social time with your family. It can be crowded, however I like to go to this park when there isn’t much people there

Srini Ramanadham

Good location for picture taking with Manhattan as background. Ferry leaves to both NY and NJ from this park. Statue of liberty is located here. Ferry ticket cost (21.00 for round trip). There is a gift shop. Do not expect full lunch offering restaurant, they just sell pretzels, ice creams etc. If you are hungry, take food with you.

yanru chen

Nice place for walk and riding bikes, but not recommend for tourists. Park is huge and lack of water fountain and restroom. No restaurant and vending machines so prepare your food. Transportation need to be improved.

My Name

Very interesting location. Was not there in time for the ferry your over to the statue of liberty. Nice place to chill and relax in the park area.

Akavar Dylutra

I had not visited liberty State Park in many years. I went because they were doing a walk through the terminal explaining the history and architecture of the old railroad terminal. I found the guide to be very good at explaining different aspects of the terminal. It was also a nice day and I was able to take some great photographs of liberty State Park and lower Manhattan. I highly recommend liberty State Park and their associated programs.

Camilla Williams

Great view. You can see the Statue of Liberty, Freedom Tower, etc... Just a great view onto New York. My visit was on the 4th of July and the staff was very friendly and the park was very clean. It is the cleanest park I've visited in my entire life.

tabbetha pedroza

I often love coming to the park. Walks, bike rides, picnics and more. It's a great view and atmosphere.

Benjamin Sehrer

Once you drive through Jersey City, and get a taste of life on the other side of Manhattan, you can arrive at Liberty state park. A very well maintained, open, and easy to visit state park. Great photo opportunities, jogging and dog trails, and a great place to muster up the courage to drive into Manhattan. DO NOT take suitcases or valuables there. Don't do anything to put your belongings at risk. We visited during the day and it was great! I would never visit after sundown. But I do recommend this park as a stop on any summer road trip.

Dave Pinke

Awesome park with great views and lots of space so you don’t feel crowded. Plentiful parking and killer views of the Statue of a liberty.

Sana Khan

Bestest place you can visit! Had great memories .... always clean ! And no parking fee!!!

Oliver Wolff

Pretty neat little place to get pictures at. You can see Lady Liberty and NY from across the river. Clean, though during summer time, humid as all hell.

Humberto Diaz

It's a park....a big park with great views. Couple nice restaurants.

Judith Cartagena

The view is beautiful and is always full with family picnics. People come here for the serenity of the ocean and view of N.Y. Love it

Erica Peterson

Beautiful! Huge boardwalk through salt marshes. Also, a neat, shady grove of different trees. This place was empty (we were there on a weekday afternoon)! Keep in mind that the view is of the BACK of the Lady. We didn't even think of that before going. HAHA. It was really neat to be able to watch all of the helicopters and planes taking a closer look.

Nick forte

Visit to Statue of Liberty. Parking is easy and reasonable at $7 per stay. Lines move quickly and staff is friendly. Boat was comfortable and efficient. There were no long waiting periods.

Glen Mc Call

Make sure to get the hand held audio set as you come onto the island. It will give you a great tour around the entire island. You will learn more than you knew possible about the statue's creation and the vital role individuals played in her history.

Danji Divac

After Central Park one of the best parks around. Huge, great for cycling around. Lovely view of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty!

Tamirah Brown

It's a very nice place to come to and sit by the water. At night it's so beautiful looking at the NY skyline and all the buildings lit up

Sanjeev Dandekar

Great views of Manhattan's skyline. Parking is priced reasonably. I would keep some time to enjoy this park before or after taking a tour of the statue of liberty/Ellis island

angel suarez

Early mornings are the best. Place is clean, information on trails can be easily read. Most volunteers are very friendly.

Jennifer Magi

This place is a great area to visit for a stroll on the boardwalk or a picnic. Seeing the New York City skyline from this park gives it a whole new perspective and see the Statue of Liberty off to the distance is spectacular. I would highly recommend visiting!

Raghuvanesh Vasudevan

Very lovely place which gives a nice view of skyline. It is very calm and good area to walk around. You can click some nice pictures as well. This is where you board ferry to Statue of Liberty.

Rituraj Kumar

It has changed since my last visit. There is a new museum at Staten Island. Sea Shore view is amazing. Lady Liberty is still maintaining the same pose and attracting huge crowd.

Y2K

It is a great park. but be careful after sundown. I almost got robbed by a group of teenagers while walking after supper. I used to run the entire park around midnight without a problem. I hope this is an isolated incident. I never heard of any crime there. However, be careful. It is a big park and you do not see too many law enforcement in the park. Always use caution.

Pratik Desai

Beautiful park and views of lower Manhattan, Ellis Island, and Liberty Island. The park states no alcohol, but no one seems to care. You can also let your dog off leash no problem. The picnic area gets pretty busy, but there is plenty of spots to drop a blanket. Parking fills up on major bbq holidays, so get there early if anything.

vikky shenoy

This is a good place to visit in the evening. Although there's a parking fee, I believe it's worth it as we can enjoy the atmosphere without a big crowd. If you want to visit the statue of liberty, make sure to be here before 5 PM

Jose Lejin P J

Beautiful place to to walk around. You can get nice view of Statue of Liberty from here and ferry tickets can be purchased to visit Liberty Island. It is a park in New Jersey, located on upper New York Bay in Jersey City. It is located opposite to both Liberty Island and Ellis Island.

Annelise Dal Maso

My happy place! Love the view of the city from here and yet it's so quiet! Definitely go each time i feel the need to recharge. Only down side is the traffic to get there

Neha Sidana

Took a ferry ride to Statue of Liberty. It was a great experience. A must go place.

Tracy Morales

Had a BEAUTIFUL time there with FAMILY. ❤️ ♥️ Can't wait to do it again with FRIENDS!!

Wili Camacho

Such a beautiful view of the city. Didn't realize how enormous this park was. Great for picnics, walk, or run. Overall great place to visit for families.

Dee khilall

Love this park wish the bathroom was better. It's always filthy no matter what time of day you go. The view is picture perfect and a great spot to relax and enjoy the view.

Brayden Mora

I am glad we decided to tour UN headquarters at NY city. It is an hour long tour & you get to see general assembly, security council (we were lucky that session had just ended 10 minutes prior), trustee council etc.. Our tour guide was excellent & gave good view of UN work. In the courtyard there are several artwork displays that are worth looking at. The gift center is very good with lots of reasonably priced items.

Naman Pandey

Best views of NYC. For free parking come all the way to the end of rocky road to the parking lot

Ahmad Abbasi

Nice place for children especially toddlers and kids in the 4-5 years old. Some exhibits were not functional at the time we visited. The cafeteria was closed mid day till we left at 5:20.

Angelina Green

It was a beautiful day. Just went site seeing and visiting the different office. I did have a concern about the bathrooms at one location. There was one out of service, but everyone was going in and out of the other one without supervision. That's not good for children especially when you have no knowledge of what's going on. Thank you.

Greg Hendricks

This is a beautiful view of Manhattan, there is a ton of parking here but it still fills up. If you come early you can find free parking, but if not there is paid parking near the ferry. I can't speak for the amenities, but the park its self is worth a visit!

Andrew Crawford

Nice place. Great opportunity to visit and park. Just don't get stuck at closing time, it takes forever to get out with all the people trying to pay at the same time and only two booths open.

Payman Kohan

Great, big view of the city. Real close to lady liberty. Lots of grass for our doggies to roam. Tons of parking. What more can I say. Make this place a destination stop for sure!

jaini parekh

Great place to relax and have a mesmerizing view of NYC cross the river. You can take kids there to play or just go with your partner for star gazing or a sunset view and a long walk.

Samuel Minaya

Awesome place to share with family and friends. And, for sure, have a great date with the city as a beautiful view.

Bryan Welker

Liberty State Park is a great family place. They have redone the playground for the kids which I think could be a little larger. The boardwalk is great and I love that you can take a picture of Lady liberty In the background of almost every picture. We have been to liberty Park a couple times before and we will always return when we are in town

Jessica Petrocelli

It is a very beautiful place to be. There is a WWII memorial that is s wonderful statue of a soldier carrying someone from the Holocaust. There is a wonderful view of the Freedom Tower and the Statue of Liberty. I would highly recommend it.

Kathleen Kraûse

Ellis Island. I could spend the entire day there!! Such great exhibits!

Shane Robbins

First time seeing the Statue of Liberty. Had my Dog with me so I could take a ferry and dogs aren't allowed on Ellis Island. Closest place for me was Liberty State Park. The park was real nice and the views where awesome. Highly recommend especially if you have a pet and want to see the statue with them as well. Took some pretty cool photos too!

JEANETTE HOUSTON

It was a beautiful, beautiful day! So relaxing to see the boats go in and out of port. I stand amazed at just how amazing God is why I'll be holding his Beauty! Beautiful day!

Cay Landry

It was AWESOME! I wanted to see the same thing my Grandfather saw when he came to the USA from Sicily. Everyone was very nice and friendly.

Lenore Nahs

My first time in NYC and our first stop. The park is beautiful, clean, and I was overwhelmed by Lady Liberty and Ellis Island. The meaning and history were not lost on me. Plenty of bathrooms and ice cream truck and vending machines for drinks. Picnic benches and quilts in grills if you want to spend the day at the park. Really a lovely ecperience

Sezgin Akçelik

Amazing Manhattan view and old train station. You can also see liberty of statue. Go and enjoy the view of everything

diaa saied

The historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (CRRNJ), a grand setting for much of New Jersey's transportation history in the northeast, sits prominently at the north end of the park. A two-mile promenade, Liberty Walk links the picnic area, Interpretive Center and the CRRNJ Terminal while presenting visitors with a sweeping view of the Hudson River. An outdoor performance area and other improvements mark the northern section of the park, while the western portion is dominated by the state-of-the-art Liberty Science Center. Liberty State Park also is the only location in New Jersey with Ferry service to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.

sumanth babu

We took a ferry to the park from New Jersey which was about 20-30 mins. The newly constructed museum was good as it provides lot of information about the origin of the statute. A must visit place. We enjoyed the walk around the park and the skyline view was amazing

KB Brothers

This park is always lovely to visit! We have a lot of our family reunions here! Great place to take nice pictures also! ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Robert Allwine

History, family fun to do together and share an American treasure. Great time.

Sherrie

Great views day or night. I prefer night. Nice place area for kids. Family friendly.

Sobhan Kumar Padhi

Lovely place with nice view of the city skyline and the lady liberty herself (not the best view though).

Bonggo and Patrick Moore

This is a relatively young park, judging from the size of the trees. The views are amazing. Great for long walks and bike rides. There is a good sized playground for young children and ferry service to Ellis and Liberty Islands and NYC. There are guided nature walks and history events from the park service. Two restaurants by the Morris canal are popular for weddings: Maritime Park and Liberty House.

T. Manmath rao

Beautiful place enjoyed and visited famous liberty statue. Wonderful place went on ferry. newyork in other side and Hudson river at last mixing with Atlantic ocean amazing. Have a trip

Anne Fernandena

Amazing park. Absolutely stunning view of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty/Ellis island. It feels like you are in a 3D postcard. Healthy 3mile walk sipping coffee with our elderly beagle. She loved the high grass and trees next to the walking path. Felt great for her paws to be off the pavement for a while. I highly recommend this for any visitor to the area.

Raul Martinez

The park is great if you want to relax & have a small picnic. However, My recent visit to the park was to bike it. Biking isn't ideal in this park. Weekends here are just over populated & not enough room to have a relaxing bike ride. The views however are just awesome! The park overall is a great place to relax, barbecue & spend a nice day with family & friends, But if you want a great bike ride, You won't have one if you decide to do it here.

vinay abhishek

Cruise to the Ellis Island here is fabulous. One of the dream places for thousands of travel enthusiasts. Lucky to live around the area.

ManchesterUtd Fan

There is nothing more to say except this park is incredible. Want to take a jog? Run along the waterfront path with breath taking views of the city. Want to go somewhere with the kids? There is a playground for children with neat bathrooms close by. Want to just waste time with good views and relaxation? This park is the place. Everywhere you look you have beautiful views. The ferry to view the statute of liberty is close by, but packed with long lines. Strongly recommend you pre purchase tickets ahead of time to beat the long wait. Has a nice small train rail which is wonderful for pictures and a very nice and emotional WTC tribute which you can walk through and then leads you right to the river front with awesome views of midtown. We took the water taxi right into NYC which was a very nice experience. Took some time to explore NYC and after a few hours we went back to the water taxi to head back to liberty state park to go home. We spent the entire day there and we left extremely happy. Strongly suggest this park to anyone.

Nena901

The park itself is wonderful but the the police that are there to direct traffic were rude. They picked and chose who to allow through to park...we circled the park for an hour looking for parking as our family reunion was being held there. We had family members in the parking lot waiting but was told that everyone has a family reunion there and they have heard it all to keep it moving for them to let the car behind us enter the parking lot. If the lot is full NO ONE should be allowed to enter...

catherine Justin

Great experience. A little more signage on Jersey side would be helpful. It's a good walk from parking lot.

Stanley Okaine

An amazing place and great experience. Ferry ride was amazing, and the museum is so cool.

Beautiful historic area! Loved the old train station to purchase tickets for ferry to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. 9/11 memorial on Jersey side was new to me. Very moving!

David Adler

Great skyline and water walkway. Statue of liberty is facing the opposite direction of this park so you can't get very good photos of it. Got some great skyline photos though.

Daniel San Miguel

It's a really fun place to bbq and to play specially volleyball. Nice view ot the statue of liberty even though is giving us the back. Beautiful place ❤

Matt Cerf

See manhattan from a different angle. Take the time to relax. Awesome.

Prianka G

The park itself is nice. I was very disappointed to see the two big walls that was built for 9/11 memorial in the middle of the great view of the Manhattan. It blocked the whole view of beautiful Manhattan and made the railroad side of the park very unattractive. They could have done much better job w/ the memorial wall by building it on a side of the park and not in the middle of the park, which took the actual beauty of the park away. Not a smart planner.

Fantastic location for a one-way, 1.5 mile walk/run. Beautiful scenery of Jersey City, Lower Manhattan, Ellis Island, and the Statute of Liberty. Come during sunset to get the view of the NYC skyline.

Jose Morell

Took a cruise around Manhattan. Had a good time. Met and spoke with a lot of people just enjoying the night & the ride.

Vikramaditya Bagri

This a hidden gem in Jersey city that gives you a fantastic view of New York City and Statue of Liberty. Strongly suggest to visit this place. Make sure you have a wind jacket no matter its Summer or not because its windy as hell.

Rob Williams

Nice place to walk or bike around on a sunny day. Plenty of places for a picnic, and it's big enough that you can avoid crowds of people if you want to.

Anthony Wolfe

Lots of open fields and nice outdoor space. GREAT views of lower manhattan. Nice play to ride bikes or run around with the kids.

Timothy Schlueter

Great views of the statue of liberty. Huge park! Can't wait to bike in the future. Not to crowded. Great for a picnic. Wish there were more restaurants on the water. Really fun day!

At the Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. Beautiful place to be. You can buy tickets to ride to Ellis Island from the Jersey side. Was there when the Freedom Tower was just being built. I love New York!!! But love to hang in Jersey!

Martin Mbuthia

They have the largest planetarium in the western hemisphere!! Experience what it's like to travel through the galaxies & oceans in a giant

Michael Mazur

Great place to expand minds young and old. Just a bit pricey. Also ev parking should be improved. They are just mixed in with regular spaces. Got to make it like handicapped.

Deepnath Das

Awesome place for hanging out with family and friends. You can enjoy the view of NY High Rises from here. Great place for photography.

sadha sivam

Nice place to spend time and do walking. You will get the pure air.. I loved this place.

Loven iah

It has a very nice view of NYC. You can see the Statue of Liberty from behind. I lost two $20 bills there. I hope whoever finds it has an abundancy of joy and happiness♡

Audrey Williams

I learned more the land I love. A land that I want to make great again

Liberty State Park was one of the big reasons we chose to live and buy a house in Bergen-Lafayette. My husband and I are both casual runners and you can log some serious miles in LSP without worrying about traffic and while enjoying amazing views. It's also the perfect spot for family outings, and the launch point for ferries to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. There are 2 new playgrounds, bathrooms, parking.... Literally everything you'd want in a park is here.

Patrick Lucas

Beautiful park! Awesome playground. View of NYC skyline and view of Statue of Liberty.

What a wonderful place for the little explorers. Amazing exibits and super friendly volunteers. Best place to spend time with you curious bugs. Best part is membership is just $189 for while year for two adult and 4 kids. Member night and other perks wonderful. Parents with 4-12 age group mist buy memberships. Spend best time in winter with your kids. Tip: Free parking at Loterail station over the weekend.

This is the best park on Earth! Nice open park... great for boating walking running and playing. Nice shows out there also. Perfect view of New York City skyline.

Wow, the view from the park is just mind blowing. The best time of the year is summers. In winters you wouldn't like to get out of the car.

Heather Tower

I went to the playground with two toddlers and they had a blast! It's a safe environment for kids to play, climb and explore. The sculptures of the different animals are also amazing! Highly recommended for kids of all ages!

Ajeet Kumar

Park is big but there is no play area for kids. Yes it's near river which gives it a pleasant look. You can only walk and can spend sometime with your family.

Morgan Moran

The only downside is that you have to reserve statue access months in advance. All of the staff and park officials were super friendly and helpful.

Will Tutt

A truly beautiful place to go. Took some lovely pictures (including one with my knee in it because why not?) If my house wasn't 3500 miles away, I'd probably visit here more often.

On my previous visit to the East Coast, my husband, our little girl dog and I came out to New Jersey to visit my cousin and his family. Instead of visiting New York this time around (just seemed like a lot for us since we drove from Philadelphia and still had plans to drive to Hershey, Pa and back to Philadelphia for the rest of our trip), my husband thought coming to this beautiful park would be a great way to see the Statue Of Liberty from a distance, have an amazing view of the Hudson River and have New York's skyline in the background (truly makes for some great photos, please see the ones I have added to this Yelp page).

Khraig Schupp

A short ride from Ellis Island. Property is very clean inside and out. There is a very nice size store to buy souvenirs in. Also, there is a museum that shows the history of the Statue of Liberty - which most would find interesting. Warning: there are around 200 steps if you bought tickets for the pedestal, and even more for the crown. It is well worth it though. Great trip for a family day out.
