A must if in NYC. Informative and pleasant. Must plan to go early...
The statue and grounds were well maintained. We really enjoyed our visit.
Amazing view and historical experience.
Well it's world famous. Nice to click some pics. U can also get to the statue and get a spectacular view of the city
Top views of the Lady and lower Manhatten. A nice horn free area. Ellis island worth a trip...to the morgue. Nice.
Agreet and amazing place ..
Worth the walk up the stairs.
Had an awesome New York adventure with friends. It was super hot so luckily it was cloudy. The ferry was crazy crowded but overall great experience.
Amazing things to learn here and a lot of history.
I recommend using the free listening tour guide.
Great time seeing how my parents arrived. The most impressive part was the tour of the old medical facilities. All in ruins but you saw the medical wards, surgical theater, staff housing, and offices . It was massive. The museum was very informative on the criteria used to see if you would be allowed to enter.
Just wonderful American history.
Had a great time at the liberty island, home of statue of Liberty. The weather was awesome. Audio tour helped a lot.. airways will recommend to use it. Could learn lot about the history of the place. Great rush though.. had to wait to get into the ferry. Always will recommend to book online.
We didn't actually go on the island we were on a Spirit Cruise and it got real close to the island and from what I understand it is much better to do the cruise and to actually go on the island and go up to Statue of Liberty
It's beautiful and is a great place to go to. I recommend everyone to vist this place
Great place to visit lot of history
This was a very insightful trip and I truly enjoyed it
Great national monument! Well maintained and helpful rangers!
Despite all the immigrant bashing, it's still there.
She's definitely a Beauty!! A welcoming to "The Land of Freedom and Hope"!!!
There's just so much feeling, or lack there of, defending a nation's right to defend itself. No words can describe the change in the country the day those towers disappeared from the skyline. God bless America.
An absolute must tourist destination. We walked a circle around the island, stopping to take many photos and videos as any tourist should for their first visit. We didn't go inside the statue but hope to on a return visit. There are several shaded areas to retreat from the sun and spots to soak in that Vitamin D while you admire that statue up close.
The line is forever on weekends, about a mile. Estimate wait time around 3-4 hrs. Make sure to check the ticket office closing time, they close quite early. But anyway, still a must-see attraction once in the states
Great place great views great Boat Trip. Me sending my ashes of my mother back to the Homeland. Love.
Absolutely awesome park! The 9/11 Memorial is really something special and of course the views of the NYC skyline are top notch!
Breathe taking....an awesome experience every American should experience at least once in a lifetime
More impressive than I thought. Got to know some interesting facts, like how thin the statue is. Also it has a view to a very nice New York skyline
Overrated, overcrowded and overpriced
An awesome place and info at Ellis island is really good to know
Truly is a sight to see. Sad because we couldn't go inside as all the tickets had sold out.
Nothing much to do. In the end, just a statue. If you're into that, cool ig.
Breath taking, wonderful history, and fun for a picnic.
Great tourist spot.
Awesome experience
Great city's views and of course, lady liberty
Climbing to the crown is unnecesary but visiting the monument was incredible
I have to confess we didn't get off the ship. We were on a five day break with loads to pack in. Photos from a distance but the ferry journey was bright, sunny and extremely breezy.
Beautiful beginnings of America.
Loved the experience.
Must visit place
One of the best experience that we have in New York.
You must see this at least once in life! I grew up always remembering seeing this fine pady in Ghostbusters and loved getting to see her up close! Such a beautiful island and the ferry ride makes it all the better!
Lovely, windy.
Unlike anything I've ever seen. So worth it.
Very attractive objective. It is advised to get tickets in advance to visit the internal part of the statue.
LOL great experience going today again so fun
Super views of the Statue, Ellis Island, and NYC. Easy to get around and see the museum. The museum is occasionally hands on which made it more engaging for my young kids.
It is spectacular, great place for family time
Love how much history there is. I wish we could go back to the way to our ancestors arrived and do this. The Statue of Liberty plays such a important part of our history.
Liberty Island remains a must visit for all nationalities coming to NYC
lady liberty is just as beautiful as the pictures... well worth the ticket/ferry price
Had a good time
Good trip, good sights sing :)
Just one glorious momument, nothing much entire activity 2.5hrs affair approx at maximum
Incredible!!! Liberty statue is beautiful, this place is very crawly and if its summer you’ve got to take care of sun in the ferry lane
Great day trip out on a boat. The statue is amazing to see from up close. A great part of history well with the trip out
Of course the statue is the main attraction, but the island itself is a nice place to spend time, granted, it's usually quite crowded with tourists. The ferry ride itself offers amazing views of the island, as well as of downtown Manhattan (if that's where you're coming from) and is worth the ferry ride in it's own right.
It's very informative as well as enlightening, a must for history buff. Include the Ellis Island for more information.
Clean, everyone was polite, nice tour
The statue and the island were great. The process to get there is awful.
Very interesting walking tour, self guided. Lines are long on weekends and holidays to get to the ferry. Pack patience. Rest of experience was enjoyable and educational.
Beautiful and vast views that take up the horizon. The museum is also great. Offers an in-depth analysis of how out Statue came to be and the great men involved.
Good place to relax and unwind!!!
It was amazing, and stood for our freedom
We came in March..cloudy day really means bring warm clothes and head gear for ears...wind is brutal.
Not to bad ok if you what and need to know the history of this place but hard to get off give yourself more time to do so.
The iconic statue of liberty. Is really awesome to see it so close. If you go to NYC and do not come here, is like you didn’t come to NYC. Is good to buy the package, so you can take the ferry from battery park and go to the statue of liberty and then to Ellis Island. Try both islands.
It was really fun on the boat seeing NYC from a different perspective!
It's always a great experience. No matter how many times I see it I have to take a picture. The ones posted were from the ferry going to Staten Island after taking my family earlier that day. Visiting, tourist, or local it's a great way to spend the day of you haven't been in a while, or bringing someone for their first time.
Leisurely walk around the island, free audio tour was informative.
A fantastic part of history great for the whole family
The island is very clean and beautiful..........The copper statue, a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States, was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and its metal framework was built by Gustave Eiffel......... There are some historical moments at here like.... The statue of liberty and other things....... We found it very beautiful....... thanks............
Soo beautiful, I recomend that place to visit
Nice island with great views of Lady Liberty and the Manhattan skyline
Heart full of love for America the brave, beautiful, and the free lady liberty!
We Love the USA, Julie
After a small trip on sea, arriving to a cute and so small island.
Have to go in the morning. The sun will raise at front of the statue.
The story and history behind Liberty Island is a must for anyone traveling to NY
Amazing to see the statue of.Liberty!
Awesome place.. Must visit.. Felt great.. Great scenery and fabulous
Just lovely
The view from there is amazing! Is a nice trip pretty much anyone can afford and besides, it's a nice to learn something about one of the most important icons from USA.
It is a must see place. I loved the boat trip. The city that never sleeps. Love NYC
Very nice view to recreation on liberty island many of tourist was there to go with small boat to the island and many souvenir and interacating people as well
Great Place
If you have a significant other then this can be a great place for the two of you to visit. Its so beautiful and can be totally romantic. Or you can just go alone and have an adventure. If you seek a perspective of history, then I suggest you definitely get a tour guide if you dont already have knowledge of your own. But if you just want great photos then I mean any and everywhere in NY is a great opportunity!
Fantastic. Enjoyed the boat ride. Very nice tour guide, good view for taking pictures. Well worth the time and money
Pro: Magnificent experience, this place is full of culture, history, emotions and beauty. Perfect for family, friends, lovers or be by yourself. Con: There is just a very limited tickets to be inside of liberty Lady.
If you have never been before it's a must. It's a beautiful place and imagining all the people who passed through this site is a very emotional place. What this location symbolizes speaks for itself.
Fun
Beautiful , just beautiful ! I will keep that in mind for a return visit , this place is breathtaking , I'm certain that if I died and went to heaven , this place definitely would be it ! Highly recommend visiting this place !
There’s so much to do on this island other than checking out, marveling at, and taking pictures of and with the Statue of Liberty. There’s a lot of space to walk and stroll around and just take in the atmosphere of New York City. And the island offers some really nice photo ops, especially that of the NYC skyline. This place is great to hang out at especially when the weather gets nice and you can really spend the whole day here learning about the statue and its history as well as New York City’s.
It is worth visiting this island. In addition, there are amazing views of the Manhattan skyline and the New York Harbor. So, you can consider it as 'hitting 2 birds with 1 stone' Note: Use the promenade on the perimeter of the island for good close-up/selfie/group shots with the NYC skyline (and harbor) in the background. Keep your phones (and any other fragile photography items intact) as the pavement is concrete. A small drop (from about 3 feet) can damage glass components (such as the screen). Mine did!
We had a very nice time great Tours thank you
I can here in the summer of 2001....im from Atlanta, we have our own culture too. But there is no place in of itself like New York and particularly Ellis island. Man, I can still remember the waves crashing up against the ferry. Climbing the spiral staircase to see the skyline. A lot has changed in 17 years but the memories are still vivid and will never fade.
Beautiful. Such a great monument
Loved it! Once in a lifetime experience. Very glad I went. Just give yourself enough time, and dress for the weather
Must-go when visiting New York. A bargain, also, if you reserve online in advance ($18,50 including ferry trips, entries to Liberty Island and Ellis Island, audio guides and especially access to the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty).
Water ride nearer to statue of liberty is enjoyable, .it is free ride .one must visit this island to witness symbol of liberty.there is always scope for improvement hence 4*.
A Must See in NYC
What an amazing place to visit. It reminds you about how lucky we are to live in this great country, warts and all.
Privileged to be here..... Here only realised the colour of statue was never a green. When erected the colour was bronze and later because of oxidation it turned green because of corrosion. Authorities and people later started liking the green colour layer which in turn is actually protecting the statue from corrosion. Travellers can always view the Statue from ground but for pedestal and crown one need to book a slot atleast a month before. Statue ticket price is 20 USD . Which includes Ellis Island tour , Liberty Island tour and Manhattan
My mother recalls coming to America, from Italy as a little girl, and how everyone went to one side of the huge ship. It was to see the Statute of Liberty for the first time. 70 years later it's as vivid to her as it was back then.
Its awsome
A great place to visit with an audio guide. The amenities and facilities are good.
It's probably the best site to visit located in heart of city
Liberty Island is best known as the location of the Statue of Liberty. The island is a great place to watch the beautiful skyline of Manhattan. There are ferries from Battery Park and Liberty State Park. It's best to wear comfortable shoes and clothing according to the weather. The island is a great place to relax and enjoy your day.
What's not to love? Beautiful and historic.
An amazing place to know
Nice to see the statue in real life but the highlight of the tour for me was Ellis island.
Bucket list item. Must go! God bless America!
What a fantastic place, enjoyed being there
Great place, if you can get on the island! Be Aware the beautiful island is NOT always accessible to visitors.
The United States Lighthouse Board had responsibility for the operation of the Statue of Liberty until 1901, when the care and operation of the Statue was placed under the War Department. A Presidential Proclamation declared Fort Wood (and the Statue of Liberty within it) a National Monument on October 15, 1924, and the monument's boundary was set at the outer edge of Fort Wood. In 1933, the care and administration of the National Monument was transferred to the National Park Service. On September 7, 1937, jurisdiction was enlarged to encompass all of Bedloe's Island and in 1956, the island's name was changed to Liberty Island. On May 11, 1965, Ellis Island was also transferred to the National Park Service and became part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument
Highly recommend getting tickets ahead of time to go up to the crown of the Statue of Liberty. The view is amazing, and it’s so cool to get to be up there. The National Park Service regulates tickets well – it’s one of the few U.S. attractions I’ve been to that didn’t feel overrun with people (in part because the crown itself is quite small). Note that there’s no elevator to the top; you’re on your own with 350+ steps, many of which are on a small double-helix spiral staircase.
Liberty island cruise was great. Put together by TopView
Must see for everybody, expect it to be busy on weekends and holidays. Make sure your phone/camera has full battery to take as much pictures as you can. Purchase your tickets directly from the castle. Do not fall for the guys in red or yellow golf shirts, they will rip you off.
Great place.
Really Good but you got to book to go up to the Crown months in advance
A little dirty, but the view was great and that's what I came for. Also just standing there and realising the history if the place is really crazy. It makes me proud to be an American even through all the struggles the country is going through.
Everything there is just amazing and the view is breath taking
It was a very special experience being there in person, and not just from pictures or tv. I think everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. We didn't go inside the Statue of Liberty, but honestly just being there that close was enough. They have a cafe & a gift shop (with LOTS of souvenirs) on the island. On the other side of the statue, you have the most amazing view of NYC! Perfect for pictures! Definitely would love to come visit again!
Very nice
Awesome place for your weekend going tour . Check it out !
Very good point of view to the city. Also great experience , I had a great experience.
It was fun
The word 'Liberty' with the same meaning that it has today, found common use several centuries ago. The reason for coining it was probably the European renaissance which began two or three centuries ago, but the meaning of word has occupied men's minds since ancient eras, and has assumed the Corm of a heartfelt ideas.
I visited Lady Liberty five years ago and had an amazing time. Beautiful statue.
Great welcome center museum. Friendly staff nice views of the city.
The island was very nice to visit. You have to purchase a extea ticket to go inside the Statue of Liberty. If you have the city pass, its only good for visiting the island.
It was our first visit to US and on first day in New York. The place is very well places and statue is magnanimous and visible from all sides around the island. They also issue a certificate of visit one can add to his/her memory documents. Overall we all in group enjoyed the visit.
Very calm and cool place. All part of people visit here.Always crowded with people.very nice place to visit. But you need to book the tickets well in advance.Otherwise tickets not available to view at the top of the liberty
What is there not to love about this place? It's the symbol of the city and it's a magical experience when you come up close to it. Nothing beats a once in a lifetime opportunity like this. Which is why if you go, take advantage of this amazing opportunity
Amazing piece of history! Great views of the harbor.
It was a very beautiful sight to behold!!
The island and statue are awesome.. However ticketing staff is not helpful in giving rightful information. The ticketing officer doesn't show interest in answering any questions as simple as do we have any openings for crown visits.
A must see while in New York! Statue is beautiful, museum in pedestal is nice! You can just visit anywhere on the island. And, as long as if you have tickets (which need to be reserved months and months in advance) you can visit anywhere in the statue! But big, big minor: the organisation with Statue Cruises and National Park Services is horrible! Especially the service in New Jersey and in tent near the statue. Biggest issues: Lots of unnecessary queing, which make a visit to Liberty Island and Ellis Island last the entire day. No where good information about boat schedules, all needs to be asked at info counters. Specially in New Jersey site. Will call tickets at New Jersey have no advantage over normal ticketing, at will call desk normal tickets are being sold too. They make you pay for obligated lockers to get into pedestal and crown of the statue! And only payment in cash can be done! So bring in some dollars. Lockers are in an overcrowded tent with an overcrowded souvenir shop and overcrowded security check. Staff is loudly yelling all the time to move forward, but there's simply no space to move. Museum in pedestal shows a lot of the statue, but many artifacts from exhibition are missing, even though mentioned in audio guided tour.
A great place to visit! The only downside is if you want to go into Lady Liberty you have to buy tickets months in advance. You can go to the island the same day, but to go inside you have to plan your trip ahead of time.
Beautiful had a great time me and my family,,,we really enjoy ourself,,,
Great, was my fourth time here, and always it's great to visit the most value human right: "Liberty to do the right act of freedom to bring peace"
Its an amazing place with a rich history. Nice place to spend a morning or afternoon in new York city
Hey there! Happy 4th of july. Enjoy the the place the place and enjoy being lady of luberty...but do remember your duties and responsibilities too...
Nice place to visit.U'll have a great time.
The statue was beautiful I'll be at a little bit underdressed.
Nice place. Probably a have to place around New York. Well organized cruises to the island.
Great place to visit
Nice boat ride to this island. Landmark statue. Very elegant.
WOW!!! IM AMAZED OF THE HISTORY! VERY INFORMATIVE!!
I wish I had the statue of liberty pictures such an awesome experience
Long waiting in lines. Some tourists really need to learn some respect. But overall a worthy experience, statue of the liberty is way prettier if you see it that close and the color is so vibrant. The museum got some nice first-immigrant luggages.
I am so happy to be there because it's very much beautiful places
A historic spot. Setting foot in the island and getting up close of the Lady was one of the best experience!
A place full of history of what US is!
High Class Hotel with the Best
Went there. Tasted Lady. Didn't taste like liberty. Big Facts. Touched green. Licked green. didn't taste like money. Big Facts. Money make da world go round. Big Facts.
Amazing! Stunning!
This shot was taken while riding aboard the NY fire departments newest boat. It was a cool day in october but the views were stunning. I definitely recommend a visit to those who have never been to New York. Lady Liberty in all her greatness!
