I started from Ghost Lake on Shades of Death Road. The trail is back to being well maintained, and I no longer have to climb over fallen trees. It is a beautiful, peaceful place. I did not encounter other hikers and enjoyed the quiet.

This was the single most disgusting tenting experience I have ever had. We have tented in most of the states in this country and have never been more disappointed. Our site was muddy to the point where we had to set up our tent in the driveway of the site. Our truck had to be parked along the road...too much wet mud. Under the drive to the site there was a gully, constructed to redirect rain water, but in our site there were 4 major rivulets emptying into the gully. The sound of rushing water, both in our site and the gully was more than we could take and we packed up at 3 a.m. The toilets in the bath house were chemical ones. There was a shower, but no water in it. We chose not to stay our second night. If there was a no star category, I would choose that.

Very nice place. I visited the observatory. The member of UACNJ are very helping. You can see the different planets there on observatory's public day (Saturday) I would like to go again to see the other stars.

It's a nice mostly un-populated trail. The markings are clear to start, but further in you risk chances of trespassing without even realizing. Nice woods. Easy walk. Just pay attention

We were told that this park is one of the most peaceful places in NJ. So true! We stayed in the cabin/shelter for the weekend and hiked several of the trails. The shelter was very well maintained and the bathrooms were clean. I am a novice camper and this was a great way to ease into "roughing it." The trails were beautiful and the scenery was unforgettable. PS: the observatory was awesome. The astronomers were very friendly and showed us some amazing stars. They explained everything we were looking at and shared their love of the night sky with us.

I live super super close to here and have only done a day trip when I was younger so this is my first time spending overnights, and it's been amazingly great thus far!!!! We started at another campground but we're treated very poorly so we came here... And let me say we should have been here from the beginning!! The staff and rangers that we have delt with/seen have been kind and helpful!! Plus u really get that "camping experience" bc ur in the woods and it's not over crowded where ur on top of other canpers!(like DRFC, TERRIBLE PLACE STAY AWAY!) Showers r free, hot, clean (Ok spiders, webs and maybe a tree frog or 2) but hey ur in the woods!! Just be sure u put ALL ur food away or Yogi and Boo Boo will surely invade lol!! The pole in the campsite is NOT a bear feeder (Hey some just don't know!) It's for ur lantern. A+++++ for Jenny Jump State Campground, bring ur family and friends and relax and enjoy!!

Great Park, you can camp in a tent, Rv, and they even have lean-tos. A couple hiking trails, the summit trail being the longest and most worth the time as there are view points of the valley below. Watch out for ticks and mosquitoes but that comes with the hobby.

One big difference I noticed with this park is the campsites/cabins(shelters) are very well separated and offers privacy. Decent trails. Both group sites are very secluded one of the best sites for group camping.

We camped here for two nights during the week, in August. It was not at all crowded -- we practically had the campground to ourselves. The office at the park said that things are much more crowded on weekends. The bathhouse was clean, and the campsite was clean and dry. The lantern hook was a big help at night. The office recommends campsites 20, 19, and 18, but we were at campsite 16 and found it fine: it was a bit of a walk to the bath house, but very private. Our big concern, if we had one, would be the quality of the trails. The Jenny Jump trail was so overgrown that we couldn't hike it, and other trails were somewhat overgrown, as well. Overall, a good camping trip.

Just arrived seems very nice. Highway is very loud here at camp 11. Probably better down at 15 -36. Views from summit trail are great. Be bear aware.

I love this park. I've camped here multiple times over the years. Campsite number 15. That's the spot. It's right at the edge and relatively private. About a minute down the road is a scenic overlook that we would go to at night and look at the stars. Further up the road are multiple hiking trails including my favorite the Ghost Trail which takes you down to a Lily pad covered lake and access the lake is the Faery Cave.

Pulled up and was helped out by the nicest state park ranger ever. Gave us great directions to the Spring & Summit trails, but we were too late in the day to make it to the lake. Everything was beautiful; will definitely be back in the spring for a camping trip!

Already had a broom, dustpan, and snow shovel when we got here. Good bunks. Provided indoor and outdoor tables and benches.But don't doesn't have curtains for the big window in the front. Other than that an amazing place to go camping.

My grandfather has been coming here since before the lands were allocated as State Forest. It's a lovely family tradition. One of the few we have. Please keep the park clean.

Stayed over on the Memorial day weekend 2019, But gotta get real, It wasn't all that. The road to the sites are very narrow & eroded. Stayed at site# 21 & it's no wonder it was available even on a busy weekend. The site is steep to get into & lots of burried rocks. Sedans & low cars can get stuck if you're not careful. The restroom was next door to the site, So that was convenient. Another complaint is that there's only one shower!!! With all the sites near by, One shower is really unacceptable. Paying $20 a night is no bargain & more showers wouldn't be asking for too much. As for camping at Jenny jump again, I don't think I'll be back with all other options out there.

We spent a weekend at this State Park. It has some very nice trails and private, well-spaced campsites. It was quiet and clean. I had no problem with the shower or bath facilities. Campers should know this is bear country. The views from the trails are very pretty and the hiking is easy to moderate!

I keep tricking myself into thinking the trails will offer stunning views. But they don't. I did the spring trail today, and it was snoresville. That said, the trails are clearly marked and well maintained. And it's very quiet during the day, which makes for a nice change of pace from the buzz of every day life.

What a great place to go for the weekend or why not for a whole week. Its nive and secluded not too far away from home very nice cabins as well. If you're looking to go somewhere to set your mind at ease and have some peace and quiet maybe just to have a fire or read a book then this is the place to go. The only thing is there's no bathrooms in the cabins there's one bathroom that everyone shares men's and women separate. Other than that had a great time

We went shelter camping in one of the cabins here. It was actually very comfortable (even in January). No electric and no plumbing (although there are public rest rooms with running water and electric). Bring your own sheets for the mattress and a lot of flashlights.
