This is a super weird gym, with interesting rope setups and awkward route setting. Odd belay requirements that don't make sense, but that's unfortunately pretty typical now.

Ben Duncan

They do such a great job here for all age groups. The gym is clean, organized and we'll thought out

Adam D'Entremont

Great afternoon, super helpful employees!

Kyle Shaw

Love the elevator shaft.

Steven Berube

Best climbing gym around.

Small place with a great vibe. It's a little small but you can still have a lot of fun. It has a great range of difficulty on the walls.

Great place to boulder. I don't do the belay climbing but it looks fun and the elevator free climb looks intense. Clean bathroom with lockers and friendly staff. I would have given it five stars but it seems to be a popular place for kids birthday parties and that's not a great time to be there.

Jared Manning

If you want to go to Vertical Dreams no matter what your experience level in climbing is, this is for you. A great place to learn, or challenge yourself, especially with the Elevator shaft. 75 feet of climbing!

Mike Lupiani

Just had our 7 year old's birthday party here - other than a lack of signage too find the place (5th floor, can go in the front North entrance or the back Riverside entrance) it was great. The way they staffed the party was perfect, the guys they had working with the children were great with the kids and encouraged them to each go at their own pace, and none of them were ever bored or sitting around waiting to do something for more than a few minutes waiting their turn to climb. Even the few kids that were initially afraid of getting up on the wall were quickly scaling it as fast as they could after seeing it was safe and their friends were enjoying it. We'll definitely be going back!

It's the only game in town, and the routes need more frequent updating but it's solid and fun.

I've been going to this gym for over two years and I love the community there! Everyone is super friendly and willing to offer advice when asked. The staff is passionate about climbing and creates interesting and engaging routes. Because everyone there is a climber, they're knowledgeable about techniques and safety. Fellow climbers are supportive and we all cheer others on in their efforts.

Matt Merkel

Fun activity to do, can give you a bit of a workout

Jay Morris

Always a great and safe time

Ethan Towsley

Fantastic indoor rock climbing and the elevator shaft is always a blast. Also it typically has a better bouldering area than the Nashua location

Wonderful

Andrew Smith

Really good bouldering routes, pretty boulder centric gym all around. Top rope was okay, all around a really good gym for all levels of climbers. The reason it gets three stars is because they played Katy perry and 3oh3 on repeat the whole time and it really killed the whole atmosphere of the gym. It's really hard to boulder while simultaneously trying to gouge your ears out with a carabiner because the music is slowly killing your soul.

Brian Kraus

Had a great experience with Vertical Dreams! I learned to belay in a few minutes, and my 12 year old loves to climb.

Eric Austin

Great staff and good place to climb. Wish it was bigger

Owen Stine

I love this place it's really amazing

Great gym

Jaelynn Laudenbach

Really amazing place to go climbing. It has this homey feel to it that makes you feel so welcome. Great place to have birthday parties too!

Stephen West

Great climbing gym and not too expensive.

Jeffrey Kelley

I love this place, it's smaller than some of the other gyms, but it's priced accordingly. Went here for a date night and had never climbed...since then I have been hooked and go at least once a week.

Vertical Dreams is the best gym to climb in New England. Nashua and Manchester both have plenty to offer. I've regularly climbed at both locations for well over a year now.

Michael James

Meh. I went with my girlfriend and we expected great things. Instead we found a run down facility with equipment that didn't work correctly and staff that was less than helpful. The guy who does nothing but sit at the desk the whole time has an over-inflated sense of self importance. We will not be back.

The team is soooooooo fun!

Willow Raven

Wonderful safe place to learn how to rock climb. Features a whole room of About 25 ft climbing walls, a bouldering section, and a 70 ft wall for the real challenge. Safe and fun, good work out

James Stone

Super down to earth people and a great place to hang out and learn to rock climb

Bill Sorensen

It's what you could expect from an indoor climbing place on the 5th floor. A few signs on the outside of the building to help locate this gym would be very helpful. Both locations desperately need new floors. The old elevator shaft climb if awesome and pretty tall.

Actually the worst climbing gym I have ever seen. Makes me really sad to see the lack of care and effort put into this place in the age of modern climbing gyms. If your looking to rock climbing don’t go here.

Katrina Dugan

I love this little local climbing gym. It can get mobbed right after school some days, but they have a discounted ladies night on Tuesdays and a cool elevator shaft climb.

Good but i wish there were more climbing wall options.

Staff was patient and knowledgeable. We had a b-day party for 6 kids. They were kept busy and had a good time

Kirk Hipps

Really enjoyed the facility. There is no auto-belay so you need a partner. They even have a five storey shaft that looks awesome but you need special certification for that one. They also have an area for younger kids that is no-belay. We were there as Parr of a party, so yes you can do that.

Vertical dreams is a nice place to climb in southern New Hampshire. Its location in onr of the renovated mill buildings gives it a neat vibe, blending the old and the new. There is an extensive bouldering area, but limited climbs for toprope or sport. The small size of the main wall is compensated by the elevator shaft, which is an old elevator shaft that has been converted into a climbing wall. Parking can be tricky but if you're lucky you can find some of the free parking around the building.

I climbed the shaft EASY

Had a hard time deciding between 2 and 3 stars in this review. Here are some issues I found with the place: 1. Routes are not color coded and, instead, use tapes to indicate routes. I understand this is cheaper than having to maintain the large inventory of holds required for colored routes but it is very confusing. 2. The crash pads/mats in the bouldering area can be significantly improved. In some cases they hide the lower footholds from routes, they are not flat and in some regions near where they meet the wall they are quite dirty. 3. The V rating in this gym makes little sense. There are some supposedly hard routes that are very easy and some supposedly trivial routes that should have been more highly rated. However, it was still fun to climb and the lady in the cashier was helpful. Though I would suggest explaining to new comers that there is a lower price for bouldering only day pass. Would also suggest making hand lotion available (moisturizer).

Jeremy Corson

I learned to rock climb here. I recently went back to introduce some friends to the sport

Kat Miller

...but. Maybe it's just the bouldering area, but there are routes up now (June) that I saw last time I was in...in July. Half the routes are missing half the holds/tape, so you'll be working a problem and then realize that the next hold is 12 feet away, with nothing but empty wall between you and that hold. It's not a challenge, it's exceptionally poor maintenance. Maybe this place is ok for kids' parties, but if you actually want to climb and train, it's simply awful. The attitude of the staff is "I don't wanna do it, you do it." They're nice enough, but clearly too lazy to actually do anything to make this place decent. Overall, the experience for us was so miserable that we ended up just leaving after 20 minutes and vowing never to bother again. Sadly, the next closest gym is MetroRock (which is a great gym) or Boston Rock (which is also a great gym), so this is the only show in town. It could be a great little place if the staff cared at all.

Ben Nichols-Farquhar

Much better bouldering than the Nashua location, however most of the climbing walls are much shorter with the exception of a couple that start on a lower floor.

Anna Groves

Easy acess, cheap, and convenient climbing

Abraham Koffman

A solid place to climb. Always improving and fixing stuff. Got a great vibe and the people are all awesome. Great place to destress after work.

Though a small space (40x60 ft), lots of interesting problems in the bouldering area. The space is used well. While visiting through Manchester, my partner and I climbed for about 3-4 hours and were never bored. Grades are set for outside grades and range between three grades. Ideally the routes shouldn't vary this much to prevent people accidentally hurting themselves. We didn't get to try the elevator shaft (unfortunately) or the other top rope. The entrance is on the Riverside of the building. This is the first gym I took an elevator to get to.

I still remember when Vertical Dreams opened years ago. After some big additions like an elevator shaft turned climbing wall, not much has changed and it didn't need to. I can't wait for my next visit to this awesome climbing gym!

This place is awesome for bouldering, top rope, and the elevator shaft is PERFECT for lead. It truly is my home outside of home. Having a birthday party here is an unforgettable and great event!
