I've been to escape rooms across the country, from Tahoe, NV to Columbus Ohio, and this might have been the best of all of them. The man running it is super kind and great to talk to and the games he designs are phenomenal. Highly recommend!

My friends and I went, and did the Assistant room this evening! The whole experience was a BLAST! The Gate Escape does an amazing job at developing the story associated with the room, as well as, having great clues throughout the room to help you be successful in escaping. This was my first experience with an escape room, and was nervous about what to expect... I CANT WAIT TO DO ANOTHER ONE! Thank you Great Escape!!

It was incredibly clever. The way the puzzles were set up definitely took a lot of thinking power, and even more thinking power to get the puzzles solved as well. Want to spend some time doing something fun and different? Go here and get your puzzle solving skills out to the test

Our group visited The Gate Escape for the first time last week. We are not new to playing escape rooms, as we consider ourselves enthusiasts and have played most of the rooms in the area, but we were impressed by our experience here, and even consider this our favorite room played thus far! "The First Assistant" was a pleasure to meet, and our time in the room went quickly and smoothly. The room was creatively done with submersion elements, and there was a good mix of quality puzzles. We had a lot of fun, and were happy that we "escaped" before our time was up (even though we were stumped at one point and were doubting our success!). We had a little time to chat with the owner afterwards and talk about the room and process, and we left happy about our experience here. It's very easy to see that the owner has put a lot of effort and care into designing the room and entire experience! We will gladly return to play again when the second room opens soon!

Lots of fun! We just did this in a group of 4 and it was a blast. Some of the puzzles are abstract and some are really methodical, so there are good components of the room for all types of people.

This was the best escape room ever! I took my coworkers and we did ‘the assistant’ we figured things out with 15 minutes to spare! If you’re looking for something that keeps your heart racing and mind working I highly recommend this place! It was so much fun and none of us can stop talking about it!!!

Both the observatory and the assistant were great! This was our 58 and 59th escape rooms and they completely stand out as one of the best designed and most fun rooms we have done. The designer put so much love into his work and it shows. Truly outstanding original well crafted rooms. We cannot recommend them enough for anyone novice to expert. Great job!

6 people did "the assistant". Nice variety of puzzles, several we'd not seen elsewhere - incorporated theme and environment well. One, involving calculators was a bit tedious and time consuming but not terrible A few props could've been incorporated into them more . Nice personal touches. Very well done overall - we'll definitely go back for the sequel.

As an escape room enthusiast who has done 105 rooms total, I am happy to say these two rooms are 1 and 2 on my list. After doing so many games, it's common to find patterns and predict answers, but both games through our team through a loop (in a good way). DJ Death is a playful horror room that is solid throughout, with a unique, beginner-friendly format. The Assistant is a great twist on the overdone science theme, with an atmosphere that is as immersive as it is bizarre. Both of the owners / game masters are the best we have encountered, being both welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Overall, for any of those seeking to have an incredible escape room experience, The Gate Escape is one of your best options, and either game you pick will be an incredibly fun experience.

Just finished the "Observatory" and had a great time. Without giving anything away, it's good to have more than 2 people. It's great for 2 or 3 couples. Team work is encouraged. Would highly recommend this room and am looking forward to doing others in the future.

Just finished the Assistant with 3 friends. It had a lot great puzzles and awesome props. The person running the room was super friendly and had a great touch for leading you in the right direction without giving to much away. I'll definitely be back for the other rooms!

Fabulous experience! I was blown away by the ingenuity of The Observatory (and it's hard to impress me with engineering surprises). Two really fun rooms that will delight both expert escapers and newbies alike. Can't wait to return for DJ Death. The charming owner, Rene, is worth the trip to Leominster alone!

My husband and I just completed all 3 rooms at The Gate Escape in Leominster, MA. We consider ourselves enthusiasts, having completed ~35 rooms in the past 3 years. First, I will start off the review by saying that Rene is one of the most passionate and friendly escape room owners and Game Masters that we have ever met. He clearly puts his blood, sweat, and tears into every inch of these rooms. Next, let me go through a brief pro/con for each room in the order we played them in: DJ Death Pros: This room is just a great time. Between the soft ball puzzles and the amazing soundtrack, I can’t imagine anyone not having a great time in this room. There was enough of a mix of mental and physical that it really made the time fly. Cons: as a team of 2, we completed this whole room in about 34 minutes. Not too bad for a 45 minute room, but had we come with a larger group it may have fallen a bit short. The Assistant Pros: A nice, vanilla escape room. I can see this being an amazing time for a big group for a night out. Nothing was too crazy difficult and several of the puzzles were nonlinear so everyone could be working in different parts of the room instead of all clustered up waiting. Cons: Probably our own bias, but not ideally suited for just a pair. There was a lot of searching that ate up tons of time, and there wasn’t a strong sense of flow from one puzzle to the next. There were also a few solutions that felt like a bit of a stretch. The Observatory Pros: we came specifically for this room because it was hyped to have a unique reveal and it definitely did. We did this one with a larger group (6) and it kept everyone busy for almost the full 90 minutes. It really forced teamwork but also allowed everyone to have individual moments to shine. Cons: could use a bit of refinement. One puzzle in particular had way too many elements involved in the solution, in our opinion, and people were getting frustrated. With a couple simple tweaks it easily could have been one of the best puzzles (and rooms) that we have done. Overall, I would highly recommend that you give The Gate Escape a try if you’re ever in the area. It’s definitely a good time and a great way to spend an hour or two with family and friends. If you only could choose 1, I’d recommend DJ Death for smaller groups and The Assistant for larger. I would save The Observatory for those escapers who have a few rooms under their belt.

My husband and I have done more than 50 rooms... The Gate Escape is one of our top 5 rooms. The experience is everything we have grown to love about escape rooms. From the warm greeting by the 1st Assistant (room owner) to the great decor and challenging, fun puzzles. Wether you are a new escape room player or an enthusiast like ourselves this room will not disappoint!! Go see what the Dr has in store and tell the 1st Assistant that Team Rabbit sent you!!

It was a different escape room than others I know of. It has more of a story and there are two rooms. Great props and puzzles, it really requires teamwork. It is a great idea for 10-13 year olds with the story, but the puzzles are difficult for everyone.

The whole experience from start to finish was amazing! This is a great idea for people that want to go on a double or triple (or double) date with their friends, team building with people from work, or if you just like to puzzle things out. I will absolutely be bringing my family to this and finding other escape rooms to figure out.

We did The Observatory last weekend and it was fantastic! I highly recommend it. There was a great variety of puzzles, everything flowed really well, and there were some terrific moments (I don't want to spoil anything, but go see for yourself!). And Rene (the owner) was amazing - he did a great job as gamemaster, and he created all the games himself and clearly loves doing this and talking about it. He was very generous with his time and spent awhile talking to us afterwards about the rooms and everything he's done - as an aspiring owner, it was very interesting and fun and helpful. We did "The Assistant" today and had a great time. The puzzles are challenging but solvable. The room is so well designed that you lose yourself in this other world for an hour. The owner and assistants were friendly, welcoming, and helpful at just the right moments. We'll definitely be back to do The Observatory and recommend the Gate Escape to anyone looking for a great time with friends.

An issue arose the day I had planned a event. This was completely out of the owners control and very understandable. What makes this soo unique is how well they handled it. They were genuinely unhappy we had to reschedule and made up for this condition that was not their fault 110%. I strongly recommend this great escape room run by amazing people.
