Here you will see the feddbacks of people who use the products of Silver Lake State Park (Park) around New Hampshire area.
Now this firm gets a score of 4.0 stars over 5 and the rating was based on 200 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings is really high, and it is founded on a very high number of scores, so we may think that the valuation is quite accurate. If many people have bothered to give their score when they are pleased with the service, it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to write reviews when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Park belongs to the category of State park.
Great place for the family. On a sweltering day in July we felt very comfortable thanks to all the trees and the breeze over the lake. Will return.
This review is for swimming. The beach smells awful, there were numerous cigarette butts on the "beach" along with trash. I ended up leaving within minutes of getting there, even after paying the $4 to get in. I would not recommend going there to swim.
Silver Lake in Hollis is a good location for several small towns to utilize. Good play area picnic and grill. During season, lifeguard, restrooms changing and showers on hand, for a state park fee. ALOT of parking across the road. It's a good angle to the wind so the water keeps moving. And no resident geese to fowl the shore this year. The water is shallow, an easy swim and very safe Sandy bottom. This time of year, has direct access to park trail system clearly marked. Quicker than a long drive to beach.
Great!!
Clean fun with the family i loved it!! Definitely going back soon!!
Fun fantastic clean camping and daytime fun.
Absolutely a must , clean and well maintained
It's close by.
There's this one employee who keeps nit picking and go way out of his way to make our weekend miserable by telling us that we had to take our tent down which was on the grass and move it to the Mudd and rock filled pit after it had rained the entire three days of us being there,it wasn't just us either,we witnessed him herassing the group next to us the entire week end we were there, never again will we be going to this state park for our holidays
Nice park but gets crowded. Also no hiking trails. All in all good place to take a dip on a hot day.

Beautiful place ... quiet and great

Nice and quiet at 8am. Perfect for an early morning swim!
Nice place with a nicd little beach.
Clean, pretty park. To camp pack lightly as its a long hike in.
This is an excellent park and campground. Sites are very reasonably priced and they are pretty spacious. Not terribly private, but private enough. We came on the Thursday before the Fourth of July weekend and the weeknights and mornings were dead quiet. Things got much more nosey on the weekend. The lake itself has a wonderful swimming beach, boat and paddle board rentals, concession stand, fishing etc. It was perfect on this 90 degree weekend!
The parking lot is not a place to put your car if you enjoy having a working suspension. Wow.
Absolutely love it here.. so peaceful and relaxing.. cheap to get in. No loud music is allowed which I think is great. Can't wait to go back.. worth the drive it takes me over an hour to get there.
I like
Perfect
Nice place to visit
Lots of seating, clean facilities and plenty of space for activities! The water was clean for swimming.
Wheel of Silver Lake State Park it has everything that you need boating fishing local areas very beautiful in the Country Store is historic and serves great food still today
Super calm and nice to be at
Teeheeee
nice and clean
Great small lake to fish on
If you go in September, you'll likely have the place to yourself...like we did.
Nice place good atmosphere. Clean and clear water.
The lake is fairly small but it does have bathrooms and cost $4 per adult with a very large parking area. There are plenty of picnic tables and grills so you can spend the day here with your family and cook yourself a nice lunch. The water is fairly clean as a typical lake would be. The help is good. The water is very shallow good for small children. You can have shade if you want it as you're very close to the tree line and you can sit in the sand or you can sit in the grass.
Very nice clean reasonably priced no power at camp sites except handicap. Lake is very nice fishing is great as well.
Our family loves Silver Lake! Annual camping trip, and many daily trips to the lake! The facilities are clean and we always have a great time. There are boat rentals, a playground, and daily use grilling available. Be sure to check if the concession stand will be open before planning on not bringing food!
My family had a great time, but the campsites were too close together. The staff was overly firm and reprimanding while telling us we were laughing too loudly, closing our car doors too often, and the flashlight we carried to the long trek to the bathroom at night was too bright. Felt like we were in church, not a campground. Fun place, but not for large groups.
Beautiful lake. No Motor boats allowed. Clear water. Nice quiet day
Not the cleanest of the places, however entry fee is just $4 per adult. I still think the staff do manage well with the resources they have.
Camped June 22-24th in a small camper. Got the last spot in this pristine campground on a beautiful lake. We arrived late afternoon and kayaked around the lake. The water is crystal clear. We brought our own kayaks but you can rent kayaks, canoes and paddle boats at the lake too. Our campsite was very clean and partially wooded, unfortunately along side a road. We walked around the campground and there were plenty of sites and lean tos that were probably much quieter which we took note for next time. Bathrooms were clean and the pay showers were amazing. .50cents for 5 minutes and so on. We hiked Mount Mansfield at had dinner one night at the Von Trapp Brewery. We will definitely come back here.
Amazing place for family and kids. Clean water. Food stand and restrooms
Nice place for weekend getaway! Enjoyed kayaking there, no annoying big boats. Camping site is nice. Spaced out nicely.
Beautiful views at every edge. Fun in the State Park and by The General Store. A family tradition of mine - I learned this week since the year I was born - 46 years of playing at Silver Lake!
The best State Park in Vermont!!
A bit expensive for the services.
Great family spot! Facilities, snack bar, boat rentals(non-motor). Beautiful water and scenery!
Sshhhh!
Great place to cool off...
Family friendly
I like it nice place to take a walk
Discusting water. Slimy afraid to touch bottom and full of leaves and debris. Can't see an inch below the water. It's needed to be improved for so long. 20 - 30 yrs. It's a horrible pit.
Great walking trails east of Lake on far side of parking lot
Love this place...well hiden secret
Great place! Water was clear and you could see fish in the water. Kids had a great time.
Beautiful beach and camping area.
Great place to relax for a quiet afternoon
(Translated by Google) Excellent (Original) Excelente
Nice quiet place in the fall.
Beautiful lake and area.
The campground is remote, quiet and we'll maintained.
I was here as a child. It's been about forty years. I have to say it hasn't changed. That's not necessarily a good thing. The place was really run down. The bathrooms were very unsanitary. I will not return.
Nice setting, clean, positive staff
Small Lake, but great for a family outing
clean, quiet, kids loved it. I had to literally drag them away. they would stay all day ;-)
A great deal, very well maintained, and the water is perfect. Compliments to the young man that restarted the Wi-Fi on my phone. I offered him a tip and he refused.
The best lake so far. I was a real relaxing They have a lot of tables in grills.
Silver lake is an awesome place to go for a day trip, an overnight camp trip, or even for just a quick dip! The campsites are very nice, and you can find many trails that lead down to the lake. Silver lake has a half basketball court, a nice playground, and a concrete dock that you can jump off of, and not to mention a beautiful lake with awesome views! The bathrooms are clean, an added plus! I fully recommend going Silver lake for some summer fun!
Trash everywhere, saw a tampon on the shore, weird people always wearing clothes inside the water.
Best fire works display
Great fire works
A good place
Family tradition!
Love this place
Fun lake at the park.
Great lake to swim at. Beach, concessions, bathrooms, camping, friendly.
Love this place
Love it there any season
Love it
We love this park. There is no electricity, water, or septic hookup, but you are allowed to run a generator for a couple hours, twice a day. It gives you the real camping feel with trees all around and space between sites. There are water spigots spaced throughout and 2 bathroom facilities. Showers are at least .50 cents for 5 minutes, but good hot water and pressure. The lake is clean and small enough that you can be in the middle and easily paddle anywhere. No motor boats. The park rents out boats, kayaks, paddle boats, etc. There is aside wooded section with picnic tables, grills, and water access for fishing. They also have a large covered pavilion for events. Great little treasure for quiet relaxing!
Love this lake. Small quaint. Has snack bar, rental boats, large play area and camping sites.
Great place for a race. I have done the Barn Arts Race nearly three times. Excited to return in a couple weeks!
Nice little spot
Nice easy hike. Will bring mtn bikes next time since they're allowed there.
Great lake for kayaking
Very nice campground .Great place to swim. Great sandwiches at the barnard store down the street.
Good lake for family swimming, boating about. Rentable paddleboats. Water is a bit cloudy but usually a comfortable temperature. Also camping sites aplenty.
Went off-season before the cold became unbearable. The lot was almost empty--being off-season and all. There's a little box thingy to put money in...but no indicator of how much you should contribute. It was very tranquil. Well-kept...but the restrooms are closed during the off-season.
I like it but it's water is dirty cause I saw TWO candy rappers
Small but beautiful
Cute park with a lot of beach area. Lots of tables and grills. We went early in the year so it was very clean. Bathrooms and even a first aid station (wasn't open yet.)
Great swimming area!
I LOVE this state park. It's not well known outside the area, but it's quiet and beautiful. The staff are really friendly and the water is crystal clear with a great dock for jumping in.
Beautiful small town lake
One of the best State Parks in VT!
super good you should go
It's nice most of the time to go for the walk as it isn't too crowded most of the time.
Great place with clean water and good ambiance.
Great location and wonderful facilities. About $10 per day more than MA or ME state parks, and there IS a charge for showers ($0.25 per 5 min). Lake is a gem with reasonably priced canoe, kayak and pedal boat rentals (some 2-person).
The park was clean, parking was good and a nice quiet area.
Good place to go for the day one of the only lakes I will actually swim in.
I go here every year for a motorcycle camp out. Beautiful setting, and very clean campsites. However, if you want to sleep in a tent, it can be a challenge now as they put crushed stone on every plot. There are some lean to buildings available, but not every site has those.
Nice place, bring your repelent
I rate it 0
Place sucked
It's like taking a vacation only u don't have to leave new England. Fall is a very colorful season there
(Translated by Google) Beautiful lake to cool off in the beach style. Ideal for children. (Original) Hermoso lago para refrescarse al estilo playa. Ideal para los niños.
Peaceful
Nice place. Simple, clean, close to home place to brong the kids after work.
A BEAUTIFUL place to spend a day.. or... a week if camping. This small quiet State Park, situated close to the dead-center of Vermont is a perfect spot for fishing, kayaking, paddling or swimming for kids and adults alike. Vermont residents over the age of 50 are admitted free for the day-use area via the Green Mountain Passport from their local Town Clerk.
Camped unplugged for four days. It was a wonderful time. Lake is beautiful and the camp grounds are clean and well maintained. Staff is extremely attentive.
Es un lugar amplio con áreas verdes pero el agua está contaminada
Well-maintained, manicured park. Beautiful lake, campground has wooded tent sites and lean tos. Super quiet at night ( after the kids go down) except for the occasional owl hooting. All kinds of watercraft rentals. Concession stand for food. Dogs allowed in section of beach and lake. Easy-going park manager Katie does a great job..
Silver Lake State Park
Good area !
Great local lake
Amazing place and people. Great for kids and love how well they work with you.
Beautiful place for family reunion. Great swimming and trails to wake.
This is a nice place to bring the family except the water is really dirty not trash floating around dirty but loaded with bacteria and all sorts of germs dirty. When we went a bunch of the locals were telling us which places to avoid because of how dirty certain areas are. And this lake has also been shut down to the public multiple times in the past due to high germ levels. Both our kids got sick a couple days after we went here. Another complaint I have is that there us signs saying they have lifeguards on duty however we did not see any life guards any where except hanging out in the little store they have there. There is no way they would be able to see the lake from where they were hanging out.
It smells funny here.
Lake was infected with high levels of bacteria. And my boyfriend and I were unable to swim in it. We discovered this after paying the fee. The lake should have been closed to the public. According to a resident this has been the case since she was a child as in it happens so often she's 70 now so it's ridiculous the place hasn't beencondemned or abandoned. Such a bummer too it has a lot of parking and good seating areas, but I rather go somewhere safe. CLOSE THE LAKE.
Visited the beach here on a warm day after motorcycling. It was beautiful to take a quick dip. Changing rooms, a snack bar, some afternoon arts & crafts programming for children, and canoe, kayak, and paddle boat rentals. A little crowded, but plenty of shady spots to be had.
Close to were we live if you don't have a good phone your not going to get your phone working me an my wife go there all the time it nice when there isn't alot of people there you can rent a boat there for 10 dollars for hr
=....< Love thy neighbor as thy self is the second greatest commandment. State lines are not designed by GOD. The prideful comment by the woman who learned to swim there is saddening.
Is a good place to take the kids, the water is clear and not cold. Usually you have to pay to get access to that, besides the lake, there are a couple of swings and one slide for kids; there are bathrooms. The only thing is that smells a little bit.
I just stopped in to take a look at the campground while I was traveling through Barnard. Beautiful spot with a beach area. The girl at the gate was informative and friendly. I like that part of Vermont, so I booked a lean-to for a weekend next June. Can't wait. By the way, there's a General Store walking distance away that has everything you could want. I just got a sandwich there and ate it at a picnic table across the street looking out on Silver Lake.
I grew up learning to swim in this lake. Frequently what happens is the tourists that come from out of state relieve themselves in the water and it becomes contaminated with ecoli. If you want to swim it, go early in the summer or late in the spring around opening time. This lake has a plethora of trails that will take you to other scenic parts of Hollis.
Water wasn't that clean. The area to swim should be larger. Not enough grilling places. We were looking for a waterfall but ended up there after we couldn't find anything nearby. Also, there was loud music near the lake.. It was okay!
Nice swim. The water was warm for September
(Translated by Google) Good (Original) Bueno
Kinda like it.. I would give this place 3.5 star.. After reading these reviews was expecting to see something awful.. But not too bad.. there is big parking lot opposite to the park entrance. This park has clean toilets and change rooms.. Water was clean enough but not as clean as some lakes to the North + tadpoles As long as people.. No problems at all.. I was here with my 2.5 years daughter we have a nice picnic.. no smokers.. the beach was clean + park stuff was cleaning area constantly.. a lot of kids with parents... Children playground: swings + slide Overall not bad for a park that is in 30+ minutes from home..
It looked beautiful but we weren't able to swim due to toxic levels of bacteria in the water...
Amazing place. No words, just breathtaking.
Such an amazing place for family and friends.
Good family time
Clean
Very family, kid & pet friendly. The campsites are spaced very close together. We had a great time, but if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing campground, this isn't it.
Not to bad but the water was a little dirty with debris
Relaxing, clean and beautiful!
Our favorite Vermont State Park.
Ok lake beach. Water is murky
Regular
Lake is mint super clear
Super clear water
It was stinky
Nice little beach. Great place to bring the kids and the dog. They rent paddle boards, peddel boats, and kayaks.
Nice wooded camp ground. Camp sites are a bit close together though. What I found rather odd was, In the ladies room there was nothing supplied to dry your hands off after you wash them. And then there is a sign posted to please turn off the lights when you leave to conserve on the electric bill. I would not touch a light switch with wet hands.
Great!
Very nice place and very clean.....
Small but nice park, beautiful lake with a nice playground and a small beach. Campsites are close together but not on top of each other, and the campsites each have a fair number of trees. Bathrooms were ok, and the pay showers were pretty nice.
It's pretty place but it can get crowded
Decent short hiking trails, a couple kayaks and a canoe to rent. Beach for kids, the clientele a little sketchy though.
Clean, friendly staff, quality Ranger, nice visitors, beautiful.
Fun, small and relaxed!
A lot of cool walking trails to check out here. Pretty flat and wide open, perfect for our young dog.
Great beach. Clean. We stopped after picking up lunch at the nearby Barnard General Store.
Perfect day with the fam
My girlfriend and I take our dog everyday off season. It's so beautiful here and the beach is really nice
The concession stand should have hot dogs and hamburgers or sandwiches the park itself is clean well kept bathrooms very clean
I would rate this 0 because the lake has needles all over plus glass, needs a definite cleaning.
The trails are well maintained and miles long. Lots of interesting things to see along the way (find the old abandoned car!) We go here at least a couple times a month with our infant daughter and dogs. Trails not crowded at all
Quite place, good for family picnic
Never a bad place to spend a summer day
The park is not big, but is beautiful for small groups and if you are nearby. Is not recommended for tourists or to do trekking. The lake is not deep at all, so is safe for small kids, there are grills and a lot of wood, lifeguard is always on watch, some sand, kayaks, bathrooms and a little refresments stand. It is not a MUST stop, it really is a place to go if you are staying near, but is not worth the drive...
Great place to go for family outings. Price is very reasonable. Nice size pond to swim and they have grills for cookouts.
We are Hollis Noreasters members so we love this spot. But no port-o-let this year. Bummah
Clean beach, small playground, kayak rentals, grills and store
Fee per person a little steep
Need to do something about the cleanliness of the water
This lake is annually shut down due to health issues regarding the water quality. A lot of people come from Massachusetts, mainly Spanish Americans.
Very dirty
It's a great place, but no fun if you can't go swimming
Great trails
Amazing place
We went there for the first time after the season ended and found ourselves at the closed gate of a private camping weekend. The folks there were so kind and allowed us entrance. The beach is small and perfect, the water was not weed filled even for almost early fall. We kayaked and swam the entire lake. Very friendly locals as well came to say hi during our visit. We will definitely be back for hiking and more water sports!
Great beach. Clean and a fun time. Rental of kayaks and canoes.
Great beach. Lots of trails
