The waterfront sites overlooking the river are wonderful! We launched our canoe and kayak just below our campsites. The dark sky was perfect to see the Milky Way.

It's always so great here....except today. I've been coming here for 10 years.. now 5 side by sides.. F this F that.. smoking cigarettes.. being rude and totally obnoxious. When my little kids are around you best shut up fast. Luckily they left all their cigarette butts and trash on the ground and left..good riddance.

Stunning! Make sure you don't attempt driving down the driveway if your car sits low to the ground.... Lots of bumps and potholes. Watch for moose on the way.

Its was worth the 4 and a half hour trip. The park is well kept and clean bathrooms, and even tho there was 3 showers they were extremely clean. We were there for 4 days and it rained 3 and a hail storm still worth it. The lake is beautiful at night. There is a mile to a mile and a half dirt road that leads you to the campsite (we thought we were lost) but it wasn't that bad. My only complaint is that I had to come back to reality and work.

Very nice lakeside camping w/excellent views. Great fishing for trout upstream of campsite. Did not fish lake. Multiple access points to Connecticut river & the 4 lakes. Saw Moose cow w/ 2 young ones

Lake Francis State Park has been our extended family's summer vacation destination for over a quarter of a century now. Unbelievable natural beauty and a very competent and wonderfully helpful, personable staff. There's so much to see in the area...no amusement parks, malls, theatres or the like, but lakes, mountains, wildlife sights and sounds. Our family lives almost five hours away, but we make the trip to Pittsburg several times a year now, and memories of Lake Francis are like gold and silver threads in the tapestry of our lives. That may sound kind of corny, but it's so, so, so very true. We are so grateful to the staff at Lake Francis State Park for all the hard work they've done over the years to make this such a GREAT place for our family and our friends to make so many beautiful, treasured, and priceless memories.

I really liked this little state park. It was a great jumping off point for fishing the Upper Connecticut river and lakes. There are enough amenities, but the tent sitesare still rustic enough.

This campground is extremely well-kept and has wonderful, clean facilities. Coin-operated showers, coin-operated Clothes Washers/dryer, and a small office where you can buy firewood and plenty of daily essentials (dish soap, laundry detergent, candy, utensils, spatulas, Lake Francis State Park merch, etc.). There is also a dedicated dish washing sink which is free to.use and has hot and cold water. There are also Kayaks and Canoes to rent, which are 15$/hour or $50 for the whole day. The staff, though there aren't many, are very friendly and knowledgeable, and if I had a question it did not go unanswered! On top of all those great things, most of the camp sites have room to park your truck, and if not there is always parking very close by. And the icing on the cake: THE VIEWS! The area is absolutely gorgeous. This was a great romantic weekend for my girlfriend and I and I have to say I would make the 6-hour trek up here again very soon. (P.S.: The water pressure in the showers here is like a fire hose!)

I love this campground! It's it so clean and well kept up. The park staff are very nice, they took the time to tell everyone the we were getting a server storm with very heavy winds. I would definitely recommend this place and I plan on coming back before the summer is over

Well, I guess I am not as enamored as others. The park is beautifully situated--though beware it is at the river end of the lake versus ON the lake. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the grounds are clean. However, sites are small and many are on top of another leaving little to no privacy. Some sites are so small they cannot accommodate vehicles. Vehicles parked outside of sites leave you feeling like you're camping in a parking lot. Many other sites are field sites. My big beef is NH has a bad habit of selling SMALL bundles of GREEN wood at its state parks; great if your goal is to smoke a turkey, not so much if you actually want a fire....And I realize this is contigent upon specific campers, but I quickly tired of screaming children and barking dogs. UGH That said, I'd return with more realistic expectations now I know what's here.

Great staff, and a place to fish. Only problem now is cell phones work there. I still have about $20 on a AT&T card for the pay phone. I'll still go twice a year. Spring and Fall.
