Great train ride experience. Staff was very nice, train was clean, and ride was relaxing. Fun play area for kids while you wait to board.
We go at least once a year. We always enjoy ourselves. Love the clown, she is great with the kids, she does balloons and face paint.
The ride its self was fun. Not the smartest staff I have ever met. But the kids had a good time. Santa was amazing and a few of the elves were outstanding. We enjoyed our experience.
The mini golf is a lot of fun!
Unfortunately, this train doesn't really show any scenery, but for the price it is something different to do, especially if you have never ridden a train before. I can imagine kids getting bored after the first 15-20 minutes because I did. Thankfully they passed out coloring sheets and crayons because that was the most enjoyable part for me.
An ok train ride.
Was visiting for the ice castle that they do out behind the main area, it was pretty and very fun to walk around, but was not what I had expected. The castle was very cool to see at night
Love the course fun and beautiful
Amazing you have to go at lk east once in your life to see this.
Good historic rail ride through the foothills of the White Mountains with an educational narrative throughout. Clown on board for kids with balloon animals and ice cream treats. The gift shop has all sorts of train memorabilia and toys but is not inexpensive.
The two employees very friendly very clean mini putt
It was hot and crowded due to the fact there were a lot of people there waiting to get on the polar Express train. Either way, I had fun
Good, but I would recommend going early
Awesome, love train rides.
River views were nice, but a chunk of time was spent in the woods. Friendly service for snacks and drinks too.
Relaxing ride and affordable picnic lunch
Train ride was fun and the mini golf course was challenging!
Not very scenic.
GREAT PLACE for familys
Fun place to ride the train and play mini golf.
I found the train ride to be alittle boring for the money. The best part of the whole ride was when the clown showed up and scared my friend.(hes deathly afraid of clowns) just seeing his reaction made it worth the money
This is a great mini golf course in Lincoln, NH. We go everytime we vacation in Lincoln.
The trains are not air conditioned. On a 95 degree day like today it is a problem
Played mini golf, great course and a lot of fun. Nice scenery and of course the trains.
Fun railroad trip that is great to see the fall colors.Price is rather high for a short trip.
Beautiful and inexpensive foliage train ride. Bring cash for snacks and drinks on the train.
Very disappointed! Very hot in the train. Meal offered was a hot dog. Boring normal along side a highway type sites to see.
Well maintained course. Integrated small buildings and caboose could use some TLC.
Nice distraction for the kids. Well worth the time.
This was awesome if you get a chance to visit it do it
Not just for young kids. My boyfriend and I were nervous that it was just guna be a child and parent friendly activity but it was actually very educational and fun. We bought the ride and put tickets so we road the train for an hour then played some mini golf. Both super fun. They also had an animal and personnel from the science center to talk about the porcupine before and during the train ride. They also told us what out sites were while on the train. Train is super cute and has big booths for you to sit it. Mini golf was fun. Course wasn't too challenging or easy.
Major tourist attraction, expect to wait. The kids liked it though
Place closed and occupied by owners.. Nothing to see, waste of a drive..
Interesting ride and the staff is very helpful.
Had a great time playing mini golf!
Great little Mini-golf course set in a very scenic area.
My family and I went a couple weeks ago. The ride itself was nice and I like that they offer an optional picnic lunch and sell snacks during the ride. I was just hoping the "scenic views" were a little nicer and there was a little more to see. Overall an ok ride.
Visited Ice Castles here! Awesome at the end of January, but a little melted during February school vacation week. Blame Mother Nature!
First time was really fun. We drove by and decided to check it out. The course is long but the people were nice.
We just love the great white north.
What a great place. We had a wonderful family day there. The train ride was lovely with great views and a tour guide explaining the territory. They offer lunch on the dining cart if you so desire where I ate the best pulled pork sandwich ever! The gift shop had alot to offer and there is a playground as well. After our train ride we decided to play miniature golf and it was the most spectacular and beautiful miniature golf course I have ever seen. With waterfalls lakes, streams and birds at every hole. I will never forget it. And I will be visiting it again as soon as possible. There is ample parking as well.
I've been here many times for as long as i can remember. My parents brought me when i was real young and now i brought my kids here. Nice course. My kids loved it. Little on the expensive side. Its about $9.00 a person give or take a dollar or two because my son is 12 and 12 and under are a little cheaper than adults. If you are ever in the lincoln area, you should definitely swing by for a quick road. 18 hole mini golf course.
Old rail cars and engine, scenic leaves changing color!
The 80 minute ride was ok. The scenic ride wasn't very scenic we rode next to a river that you caught glimpses of through the trees, a golf course, and some trash. The "family entertainment" was a clown that did some face painting for the kids before the ride and made each child a balloon animal if they wanted. The turnaround time was long enough that everyone on the train was getting antsy. We weren't overly impressed but it could have been worse.
Great fun for kids with entertainment aboard and face painting.
Love playing mini golf every year here. Been going to the Lincoln / Franconia Notch area of NH ever since I was a kid and never missed an opportunity to play a game or 2 here.
So very beautiful in the fall season. Mini golf, Hobo Train ride which is roughly an hour or so. A lovely relaxing train ride to catch the Fall Foliage in season and relaxing during the summer season. Fall schedule is weekend only.
Great place for vacation
Love going here for the ice castles have been going for three years now
A really interesting collection of trains.
Very cute with cute little souvenirs
Very nice and comfortable ride. The narrator was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
Great first-time train ride for toddlers, as it's under an hour long and only travels a short distance.
Great people nice enjoyable scenic ride
Nice ride, beautiful views.
This is a fun, moderately challenging miniature golf course located just before downtown Lincoln if you're coming from I93. Depending on your group size, give yourself at least an hour and a half to get through the course. The parking lot is also the location where they build the Ice Castles during the winter.
Had alot of fun. Granddaughters loved it.
Brilliant fun. Who doesn't like riding on an old locomotive!?!?!
Steps were too steep for elderly and no one helped them in. One Lady on our tour fell trying to get up them. Couldn't see foliage unless there was breaks in the trees. Bathrooms weren't accommodating for bus tours/large groups.
The train left on time and the staff was friendly. There is plenty of free parking and a handicapped entrance. There is a large gift shop with something for everyone. The train cars were clean, neat and had nice cloth seats, even in the coach section.
Nice ride
Nice ride for the price and fun mini golf
Not at all what I expected..I would visit the gift shop.. don't bother with the ride
Fun place to visit. Train is a lot of fun, also mini golf was good too.
Train rides are really nice. Beautiful area. Pirates Cove Mini golf is right next door too!
Like a Polar Express very cute the people so friendly
A lot of cool sites the inside is beautiful. And if you are with your friends or your kids they should have fun with all the cool things around We went in the evening and it was a good night Check out for yourselves hope you enjoy it. Cheers and stay mindful
Beautiful ride this time of year
Such a nice place. Fantastic location. Located at the base of the white mountains. Very nice and friendly staffs. Romantic train rides. They’ve a very huge parking lot. Clean restrooms. We loved this place.
Fun fairly priced mini golf!
Awesome ride. The Engineer is the Best!
Beautiful scenery..... definatly a must for people visiting this area! It truly shows our amazing foliage and the area we live in..... it speaks for itself for sure!
not worth the money in my opinion. fall scenic train is not so scenic at all. people are great though
Fun place railroad is a cool ride
Loved the ride and food was good
My daughter was delighted by Santa, the sights were enough to make me feel the need to take pictures, and the staff was everything you would expect. Keep in mind there is no restroom/water closet.
Very fun mini golf and trains recommend
A great way to spend a couple of hours if you like trains and local history like I do, but I'm not sure my wife and 20 something son enjoyed it as much.
Fun Day
Fun way to view the scenery. Definitely buy the lunch so you can munch.
Good place for the family. Our 5y/o (and us) had a great time!!!
The train ride was great! We bought the pass that included the train ride and putt putt.
Great place for kids that love trains. At some trains ti look at and a little playground with the longest swings. Store with trains!
-----ICE CASTLE RELATED---- Almost 20$ a ticket for a 5 minute walk. It was beautiful and awesome to see but it's not as big as you would think and its just I've arch ways. They had a slide and a fountain but just seems like a really far travel for a really expensive ticket.
Ok for young kids. It's quick but short and you don't see much. The clown who did the face painting and balloons was the hit of the adventure. Will skip the train ride in the future and stick to the mini golf.
Went to the ice castles they had there....pretty cool to see...my boy had a blast paying on the ice slide and climbing through the tunnels....and the fountain was pretty cool to watch....and the lighting and the way they did it all was awesome!!
went to the mini golf course there. Extremely challenging and fun. Lots of steps up and down lots of challenging courses great place to have fun.
It's kind of cool eating a picnic lunch while the train meanders leisurely through the woods and over the streams of northern NH. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nice time for a family. The chocolate chip cookie was really good.
Nice train ride and a popular mini golf course.
Good place for small children. Price is decent.
My wife and I had fun here. Drinks and snacks were offered on the train for a reasonable cost. A lovely lady played live guitar while the train was in motion. My 2 year old daughter enjoyed it. Kinda wish there was just a little more to do which is why I didn’t rate 5 stars.
This is a nice family adventure. I thought it was a bit expensive, but overall worth it. The hobo lunch was a great touch, but... they advertised a bag on a stick and we didnt get that until well after they gave us the box-type lunch (which was good). The line was fun and the train cars were amazing, but the views from the train were very bland and the conductor (although he did read from a script) didnt call out places AS we rode by them... that was disappointing.
Nice train ride with scenic beauty
Mini golf is great and don't forget the train ride. You have to experience it at least once.
The ice castles were amazing. Well lit and the ice slides were fun as well. Great for kids.
First visit to this Railroad. Impressed with all. Friendly staff, clean train. Mini golf course is a challenge. Definitely a return visit. Try the Hobo lunch option !
Great time! Lunch was great ride was great and we learned a lot about local nature and history from the great tour guide! Coming back for sure
Fun ride but scenery wasn't the best
Wait what??? Where was ?? If this was for the Polar Express experience, it was amazing. A little pricey but I get it. Just couldn't get a table if 6 together.
Nice staff but expected a little more of a view ride.
Good time with young ones
It's okay. lots of trains to look at, and the ride is ok. not much to look at though. not very good view of the river. lots of grass. ride ends suddenly. conway scenic railroad it better.
Check out the different events
Great family fun! I suggest buying the lunch on the train ride! Plus bring cash.
Daughter & I played the miniature golf, we did NOT ride the train. Took 1 1/2 hours to complete. Crowded but friendly. Was hot since we played after lunch. Of note, lots of stairs on the course. Small bench at many holes. Fun holes but no moving parts. $9 per adult. Would play again if in the area again, drove 25 minutes to get here. Easy to find. One minute off 93, McDonald's across the street, ice cream stand a couple blocks down.
Thoroughly enjoyed the train ride. Food and hospitality on train was good. Our kid enjoyed the ride and the story reading that happened before it. The train passes along river water streams with a few scenic views of the mountains. Hope to be there in Fall again. The mini golf course is beautiful and fun. There are ponds, water fountains, bridges along the course. The ride is definitely worth the price.
Great Train ride with Santa and Mrs Claus
Beautiful little ride on the rail through scenic NH
Lovely place. We almost nailed a car at the end of the ride, but they were able to stop before hitting it. Very scenic with the bridges. Lunch is good.
Fun place for families. 18 hole mini golf was a lot of fun.
The Santa Train was great. Lots of fun for kids. Authentic Santa and Mrs. Clause, and the guitarists strolling through the train were a nice addition.
Super educational and historic for Kittery. Well maintained!!
Lots of fun for the family.
The kids had a blast. Thanks Hobo Mini Golf for the group rate.
Awesome piece of history still doing what it did over 100 years ago
Great attraction! It goes along the pemigwasit river (hope I spelled it right) with beautiful views.
Waste of money, the train line doesn't have any worth seeing views, not even ant foliage, spend the same on loon gondola, that is more worth it.
Boring
We played Mini Golf. Lots of fun, a good stop to add to your travels.
I don,t recommend the ride, it isn't a scenic ride.
Enjoyed the 7 mile train ride on the vintage train. You can have lunch & beverages on board.
The cars were nice and they do a good job talking and trying to keep you entertained. That said, it's really just a train ride through the woods and over a couple waterways. Nothing particularly impressive to see at all. I suppose if you live in a city and never get into rural areas it's nice.
Boring sightseeing, even more boring staff. I could have filled my gas tank for the price of ticket and have driven around more interesting places
The ride was enjoyable but probably not too enjoyable because despite all the talk about the different animals that resided in the woods that we went through I didn't see much of anything to be honest. I did like the information on the animals that was told to the riders and I learned a lot so that was nice. Also the price was very good and for a little extra you could get lunch and for a discount you can play mini golf after the train ride. There was a dinner train on a side track that the train stopped at to pick up lunch before we continued so that was neat as well. The gift shop has a lot of fun items to purchase to help remember the ride. We also got free bookbags that said Hobo Railroad. The best part personally for me was any railroad crossings we passed or people were near the train waved as we went by and the riders waved back so that added to the experience.
I've been coming here for years, even after my childhood days were over. Now I have a family of my own and we now all enjoy coming here every year. It is fun for kids and adults! Educational and scenic. I wish the hours were a bit longer during the day. There is a park to play outside and a wonderful shop of trains toys and goodies. Always a pleasant visit! We will be back in 2019! See you then!!
Great experience for anyone, recommend max 4 people per booth. The hot chocolate was a little watered down, but still good.
the place is very nice. We have loads of fun. the gift shop is reasonable. The train experience was very good. Everything about this rail road service was very good. Love to visit again.
Great day, The people at the Depot we're wonferful and very helpful. We had the lunch aboard. Food was very good, the scenery was beautiful from where we sat. We try to go an trains when we visit different areas and this ride was one of out favorites. Thank you Hobo family. Wasn't the longist ride but the time and lunch wrew great. Will come back, Thank you Hobo family.
Went for the first time Sunday with my son the employees are great will be back again. The meal was a little overpriced but still worth it
Great place to explore. We stopped here during out little explore northern NH tours. They have a mini golf course right next door during the summers. There is a small gift shop and in the winters the ice castles are held there.
A must-see attraction, especially later in the year. The gift shop is small, but quaint.
Nice lttile ride everyone was friendly and helpful the cost was good especially if you package it with the putt putt golf and Clark's trading post
So much fun! Great 18 hole mini golf!!
This is a train, let's start off with that. There is nothing more nothing less. The train rides goes though upper New Hampshire. You get to see nive NH woods, and communities. The rail the we travel on dates back to Mill and Grand Hotels. It is sad that the rails are not completely surrounded by trees, there are house and neighbourhoods, but that's nothing the railroad can do. The best part of the ride is the view of the river. Nothing can beat the view of clearwater, you could seen loons and other cool birds. The train itself is old, but not historic. They use cars from the 1220s to the 1950s. And the engine they use is a late 1940s Alco. They are cool to ride in, and comfortable. The conductor talked about the history of The railroad, and the area. You can get food on the train, and the staff on the train were very nice. Would recommend.
Enjoyable 80 minute (less than 15mph) train ride while the friendly conductor shared some info about local attractions both past and present. As a photographer looking to shoot pictures of the Fall Foliage, I was disappointed that the windows that open are too low to shoot photos out of. The conductor was nice enough to let me shoot some photos out the front door of the Train on the return trip.
Fun times.
Great ride
Great place for the little one. Mini golf also
Great stores to shop in. And Clarks trading Post isn't far. Also train ride, mini gulf and so much more
Took the round trip with lunch. A nice time for the family. Not many hobos but plenty of nature to be viewed from the train.
Nice ride along the river, they have soft drinks and ice cream and a food only car we had a good time
Great place to go mini golfing or take a train ride lots of fun what ever you want to do.
Great for kids
The Hobo Railroad was a little disappointing. I enjoyed the facts shared, riding in an old train on tracks built in the 1830s; however, the ride itself (what you're paying for) was lack luster. There were not good views except over a couple small bridges. Mostly you're looking at woods and streets. They did have a snack service on the train (,for purchase) or you could preorder a lunch. There was also a girl dressed up as a clown doing balloon animals.
It seemed to be fun for younger kids. Too bad it rained that day. Oh well!
The train ride leaving from Lincoln was nice, but not as picturesque as I had hoped. There was also a person from the Squam Lake Nature Center that was narrating on the ride, unfortunately the speech was rather dull and detracted from the experience.
One of my favorite places to bring people when they visit here
Great mini golf course
