REVIEWS OF Greenfield State Park IN New Hampshire

Greenfield State Park was an overall pleasant experience. The parks were clean, as we're the bathrooms and showers which was a pleasant surprise. Obviously, it is camping, so "clean" has to be taken with a grain of salt, but it was still much better than I expected. One of the beaches isn't the greatest, it's mucky and has a lot growing in the swimming area, but there's a second beach that is very pleasant with lots of shade-covered picnic tables and a playground next to it.

Alex N

A lovely state park, the rules are posted online, easy to find, friendly rangers there, and programs for kids. Make reservations ahead of time to ensure the site you want, and check when the kids programs are offered. 45mins from Nashua.

Bill D

Very nice well secluded sites. Free showers. What's not to like.

Lloyd Bennett

Nice small state park. Compared to other state parks the amenities are great. If your used to private camping grounds with on site electricity and inground swimming pools then this isnt the place for you unless you a realist. We will be back!

Lindsay Schultz

We got rained out

Micah Brooks

Great place

This is our first long weekend "Boondocking" (RV camping without services). I was concerned about the widrh and depth of sites. We have 40' 5th wheel with 5 slides. We stayed on site 37. Huge deep site. Plenty of room between neighbors. We did bring a Predator 3500 watt generator (we're not savages!) Nice, and you can't beat the price compared to traditional campgrounds and campground resorts (40 - 90 a night) . It cost $71.00 for 3 nights 4 days here. We'll be back, for sure.

Sateswar

You get sites on rent for $45/day. You need to setup tent. Toilets and showers are available. A very nice lake in the park which is making this park very beautiful.

I would give zero stars if I could. This was the first park my wife and I ever stayed at over ten years ago. We went back for the long Memorial Day weekend and were shocked at how far it had fallen. For the second year in a row, they had no water, and seemed surprised about it. Our first night there, the bathrooms were shut down and water spigots didn't work. It wasn't until the following morning they trucked in portable toilets. A quick look at past reviews showed this happened the year before, you'd think they would have been prepared on such a big weekend. Nope. Furthermore, many of the bathrooms, like the one near the camper's beach, hadn't even been cleared of leaves and debris, suggesting they knew it wouldn't be opened and didn't bother getting it ready. Two days of portable toilets, which quickly became disgusting, as well as toilet paper and bear bottles littering the area that were never cleaned up really spoiled this for us. On the second night we were able to use showers with little water pressure. Showers that appeared not to have been cleaned in days. The trash and recycling dumpsters were overflowing, trash everywhere around them, as well as around the locked up bathrooms and portable toilets. Heck, if there'd been a single trash can around I would have cleaned it up myself! I have no idea what the many staff members driving around on their little carts were doing but it wasn't cleaning or fixing the bathrooms. Quiet hours were not enforced by the park staff. Instead, people were told to call the local police. I have stayed at state parks in 7 states and never once seen local police patrolling state parks until now. Police cars and officers on bikes were seen patrolling. That's not why we go to state parks. There's a huge difference in the atmosphere when you have militarized police patrolling vs. friendly Ranger staff. There was broken glass on the camper's beach, which by the way is far inferior to the day use beach on the other side. Apparently day users get the nice beach while campers get the swampy side. We witnessed a little girl slice her arm up on broken glass in the sand at the camper's beach. No trail anywhere other than the paved roads was maintained, cleared of debris, or even fallen logs. None were blazed or marked in any way that we saw. The "trail" to the camper's beach was a nightmare and not something for the faint of heart. The campsites themselves are big and have decent sized flat areas, but are not apparently cleaned between campers, or really maintained much. Our fire pit was full and there was trash on the site. No dead leaves or debris seemed ever to be removed, making the awful tick problem even worse. I was ashamed to bring our son to this park. After the fond memories we had regaled him with, to see how far it had fallen was heartbreaking. We will never go back to this park and are unlikely to ever try another State Park in NH again. There's just no reason for it when the parks in VT and ME are so nice compared to this.

Greenfield State Park is one of the nicer parks I've been to, and is a good spot for stargazing during clear nights. The pet-friendly campground located in the park is well-maintained, and has an on-site ranger that helps campers to learn about the environment around them. The singular shower and restrooms are clean and warm, and the fire pits are the site of many a s'more cooking session. There is a lake, but it is not walking distance from most of the campsites. Although the park has its faults, it is a good park for family outings and memorable experiences.

Scott Sawyer

Great campground! Good selection of outdoors activities in the same local area. Nice large sites and friendly staff.

snoov603

Beaches get crowded quick, place isn't as clean as it used to be. Upkeep of the park and basic general landscaping has been neglected for too long.

Amanda Rivera

First night here, so far so good. The bathrooms are clean. Only problem is our annoying neighbors, most sites are surrounded by trees but we have none on one side of or site... lucky us

Bobby Shifflett

Me and my family been camping here for 3 years and we love it its clean family oriented close to home very friendly atmosphere the water is clean very large beach front

Maria Kozmina

I like this place. It’s not big, but it’s really pretty

Eric Leshay

Nice sites the roads to the sites are paved. A playground, beach and showers. Only one shower house for a very large campground.

Amy Nault

This is a great place to go camping! There are two great beaches, one of which is limited to just campers rather while the other is open to any park visitors. The campsites all include picnic table and a fire pit with a metal grill that can be raised or lowered as needed so that you can use the fire pit for cooking or just enjoying a campfire. Some campsites have pretty good foliage cover to give campers some privacy, while others are a bit more exposed. There are several bathrooms spaced throughout the campsites, so you don't need to walk too far to go to the bathroom, although you might need to bring your own soap as the soap dispensers are sometimes empty. There is also a shower facility near the front of the campground. It is pretty cold, but free and surprisingly clean all things considered. Across from the showers, there is a dumpster where any campground trash (including food waste) can be safely dumped. (Don't leave food or food waste around your campsite if you don't want it invaded by raccoons or bears as soon as you walk away.) There are also some nice hiking trails, although we unfortunately didn't have a chance to really explore them due to inclement weather. All in all, Greenfield is great if you want to have a good camping experience in a beautiful area with excellent beaches!

Christopher Buckley

Interesting views from the top of the hill. This is probably quite spectacular with fall foliage. It was too hazy to see Boston the day that I was there. $8 to get in per car.

william pease

Beautiful quiet park

Dawn Munson

Great sized sites, private settings.

Debbie Cora

Very displeased. Didn't keep up on bathroom cleaning or filling toilet paper, does not inforce the quite times at night.. . Want be back umess last resort.

Lorri Geoffroy

I visited this park after my fiance's niece gathered the family and set up a camping trip. At first, I thought it was fairly decent upon arrival. There was some garbage left behind, one toilet roll in the whole bathroom, cigarette filters on picnic table, and dog poop around the brush of the campsite and trails. We over looked this and set up camp next to our family members. When leaving we thought to be polite (seeing how this was a 'green area' ) and return the purple net bags they give you when you purchase wood. They used to recycle these back in the day. Me and my fiance parked below the main building and I walked up. Once at the top I noticed it must have been closed and continued to walk back down to leave. Right as I was going down a black truck with a park ranger of some sort glanced over my way very oddly and uncomfortably. Thinking it was strange I hopped in our car and waited for the approaching vehicle. The black truck parked staring from his car into ours... ? I rolled my window down and greeted him friendly as he continued to look almost anxious. My fiance continued asking if they still recycled the purple bags. The rude guy just replied we don't recycle any more, still staring. I felt very uncomfortable. My fiance told him it was beautiful around here and the ranger agreed saying in a weird tone have a good day... we both said it back just not as half heartily as he did. So rude! I can honestly say this bothered me and my family so much that we won't be returning. Not sure if racism was an issue as I am a registered Native American, but it was not pleasant. Contemplating calling in on this issue as it was completely unecessary. Dissapointed and felt others should be very much aware.

Stephanie Pinette

Nice spot. My family and I enjoyed this campground.

nate rochette

One of the most beautiful camping grounds around.

Danlvan Lonie

Rude unfriendly people work here. I've gone here before to use the lake and I've enjoyed it. It's a beautiful clean warm lake. Today I went there for business reasons only, to do a delivery to a camper. As I walked around a little bit I thought to myself I really need to come here one weekend to camp. But after dealing with two of the staff, I doubt I'd go back. Totally unfriendly, totally unhelpful, no sense of humor at all. I'd like to see what the other staff is like.

Richard Rambeau.

Greatest place to camp especially during week days. Been coming here 40 plus years. Clean ,quiet and private sites !!

Kalibre978 TV

best camping place ive ever been to staff was great also will be there again this month

Benedetto Papaleo

These people let in a rambunctious motorcycle gang and they were shooting a potato gun filled with pasta and cussing all night. Makes me wonder who else they let into the park. Glad to hear they got blacklisted and muscled out by local police.

Liane Wells

Love the park. Beautiful big private sites. Unfortunately on our last visit most of the sites were closed due to bathrooms being shut down. The dump station was completely clogged and overflowing. The bathrooms and showers are in desperate need of cleaning. Understaffed is a part of the problem. State funding is prob another. We love our state parks and camp at them every year. They desperately need improvements though. I'd still recommend for the quietness and big private sights and friendly staff.

Manda Love

Love this place. Lots of things to do and places to go. Staff is friendly and super helpful. Will be going back for sure and recommend to my friends and family

Tina Durham

Great state park

Randy King

Great fishing, clean water. Really quiet.

hillary simpson

We had another great camping experience here! However it would have been nice to know the lake was closed due to high bacteria when we registered. There are plenty of other near by lakes so we just went to one of them.

Kenneth Danila

Nice, large, partially shaded campsites. Very friendly staff. On the hottest day of the summer, mid beach was nearly deserted and clean. Camp and beach stores were well stocked.Very quiet and peaceful overnight. I see a lot of common complaints about the camp bathrooms here, but I found them to be fine, generally clean, and nothing out of the ordinary for a New England state park campground. I guess I want to know where those people typically camp!

Laurie Bohanan

This is a very nice park with reasonable camping rates. There are several bathrooms sprinkled throughout the camping areas. I only marked it down one star because they only have a shower house at the entrance and beach. That's not a lot of showers for a large park. But don't let that stop you from visiting!

Katya Maiser

This is my favorite campground in NH. I've stayed here probably 6 times in the last 15 years. The sites are large and feel private, it was thoughtfully designed to leave trees and brush between sites. The access to swimming and boating, and affordable rental boats is great.

Douglas Titilah

Very nice state park. Had a great time.

christopher dinh

Great Camping Spot, We arrived on Saturday and left on Monday. When we arrived, there were quite a few people, but it never got loud. In fact, I was worried that we were going to be the loud ones playing music and talking. Luckily, we got no complaints, and hardly heard our neighbors. On Sunday and Monday, everyone had left and we had the campground to ourselves. Each camp spot is quite a distance away from each other so even though some people had generators running, we barely heard them. I experimented and played music quite loud from our campspot and when I walked over to the next spot over, it wasn't really as loud as I'd expect. Anyways, I would definitely recommend Greenfield to anyone. The only issue.... They say they have boat Rentals, but really its a couple of canoes and One SIngle Kayak, and One Double Kayak- Definitely not a wide selection. We ended not going since there weren't enough kayaks and the girls in the rental building were quite frankly pretty rude. All in all, a great campground, but I wouldn't expect much as far as boat rentals go.

crystal hazelton

Rude employees, reserved a sight that was littered with beer cans and dirty diapers when I arrived. The good things were clean bathrooms and the music festival was across the street

christopher preve

Great place to go camping . No power, water or sewer hook ups. Nice lake to swim in. Great family experience. All ready booked another visit.

Julianne DeGeorge

Great campsites that have privacy. Otter Lake is great for small boats or kayaking. One of our favorite places to camp!

Jake Lemieux

I go here every year as tradition. A nice clean, fun, simple getaway. I think prices are unnecessarily high for having more than 2 adults...other than that, I highly recommend this place.

David Desrochers

Large site...but hook ups, well broke down so no bathroom or shower

PbCat gaming

It was pretty good, ducks are everywhere and are pretty friendly

Jaclyn D'Aguanno

We reserved a site online which ended up being horrible when we arrived. Luckily we switched to a much better site that was available. This Campground is not horrible, it was just not for me. Its great if you have kids or have a group of friends. There aren't a ton of private sites which is a bit of a downer but there are some, just be aware of it. The staff was good. A lot of other campers were very loud until about 3 am which made it hard to sleep. The lake wasn't very big so we didn't Kayak. The store was very far away and didn't have essentials that you would most likely need if you forgot things. I'm glad we tried this site. I wouldn't recommend it but I also wouldn't talk you out of going. You might like it, you might not. It depends on your preferences. We still had a good time and there was a good hike about 20 mins from the site. Just personally wouldn't choose this site again.

Adhish Patel

Great place to spend time with your friends and family! Great natural experience. Well maintained restrooms is a great plus. We totally enjoyed our stay. Good trails too and "Do bring your swimsuit for a nice time in the lake!" have fun!!!

IamGrooot87 Thorodenloki

Dog friendly! Please pick up after your pet so they can continue to stay with us

Carlos A Condado

Well, my friends, wife, our dog and I really were looking forward to camping here but due to last-minute things we needed to change our reservation and we sadly needed to do it the same day we were expected. We wanted to change to another weekend and add an extra day but they didn't allow it. Be aware of it. I hope my comment helps them improve their business model, it represents a 281% revenue lost between cancellation and allowing us to do the change for an extra day and moving fees.

Carm Sant

Great place to camping with Family

Julie Oshea

Nice and relaxing, except for the Ravens screaming early morning.

Michelle LaFreniere

We have been going here for many many years. Great family camping. Pet friendly, wooded spacious campsites. Swimming, fishing, antique trails near by. Just all around good fun.

jayme giancola

Huge lots, felt very private. Plenty of bathrooms. Showers available. Lake was nice. Very warm. The ducks are very familiar with humans, which is a sight to see

Thomas Vecchi

Nice place to go

Don McEathron

Nice little pond. Good fishing for bass and perch.

Edward Stonkevitch

Like this place.

Papa Joe Gaudet

It has a fine swimming beach and great picking during Highbush Blueberry season.

Rick Obdens

Restrooms closed, bacteria high in lake.

Bea Leon

Great park to chill for a weekend; the overall infrastructure is very reminiscent of 70’s architectural style. Book months in advance though...

Sara Hardwick

The beach was fairly clean and the playground offered another option for play

Jozzepp

Most camping sites here offer little to no privacy with wide open paths between neighboring campers. Bathrooms and especially showers are pretty gross Not cleaned or poor frequency of attention. Bathroom and shower facilities in general are pretty Dated . I guess the Adirondacks in Upstate New York spoiled me, LOL Lake Luzerne state campgrounds for example and a lot of New York state campgrounds have very clean facilities with modern ceramic tile bathrooms and showers with stainless steel fixtures and white plastic walls that can be disinfected or even hosed down. Greenfield state campground still has a lot of the old wooden walls /doors with bare concrete floors that are just filled with dirt and critters crawling around. Otherwise everything else including staff was helpful and friendly. Also the lake /beach not very pretty either. Actually pretty gross.

Farheen Kawchali

We went first time for camping and it turn out great, washroom was so clean, campground was clean and safe, all facility was available (table, campfire, tapwater).

Andrew Strauss

This past weekend was my first time at Greenfield since visiting as a kid probably 20 years ago. The campground is fairly nice, quiet, and most of the sites seem to be private enough for comfort, though I do have some legitimate complaints. The park staff was kind, while maybe not overly friendly. My major complaints are both with regards to cleanliness, and I truly hope that those in charge of the campground will find this review and take it to heart. When we got to our site, had not been raked clean. I'm not sure whether this is something that Is normal at this campground, but usually, sites at other camp grounds are raked clean between occupants. There was garbage in and around our fire pit, candies melted to our picnic table, and wrappers on the ground, which we had to clean up as soon as we got in at 11:00 at night (late check in is super easy, thanks!) this was more of a nuisance than a turn-off, and was honestly not a huge problem, just something that we noticed. There are plenty of restrooms, and with those I have no complaint. They are easy to find and were mostly clean. However, the showers are a huge huge issue. The men's side was certainly not the cleanest environment, and could use more frequent and thorough cleaning. My girlfriend (who generally enjoys the outdoors, and has taken ice cold outdoor showers in the pitch dark in South Africa) was left with an especially uneasy feeling after seeing the atrocious state of the women's showers, which appeared to have been neglected for some time. The shower items leftover in stalls, and carpet of hair underfoot, the cigarette butts clogging drains, and two people in the next stall over clearly not using their shower time to get clean, had her rushing out of there saying that if this is how camping always goes, it is not something she will likely be doing again. Get it together Greenfield, the rest of your park is beautiful, don't let the showers bring it down and ruin anybody else's camping experience. We liked most things about the campground but will most likely be staying elsewhere in the future.

Jose L Carrion

It's very relaxing and a great place to have fun with your family

James Allard

Been coming here for years.our last visit wasn't so good.there was no toilet paper in bathroom when we got there friday.there wasn't any all weekend long.when we left on Monday there still wasn't any.also our campsite had a bunch of broken glass in the fire ring.broken beer bottles.the site also had falling branches everywhere.I really do love this campground and will be back.maybe the ranger and staff just wasn't up to doing anything that weekend.

robert heywood

The park is close to home. I've been going there since I was a boy. It has a great beach snack bar and good fishing. It truly is a wonderful place to spend the weekend

Christie LaValley

Nice park

Michelle Hart

They now allow generators. For as rusted as the campground is, no hook ups, it's a little bit distracting to hear the generators.

Kailyn Sullivan

My favorite place to camp. Quiet and friendly staff

Jess Keaveny

Beautiful day!

Maureen Latta

Very clean with a Sandy beach, picnic tables & restrooms.

Mark Summers

I love this park. Great place for camping period or just a day trip

Edward Mills

Absolutely great! Friendly staff, huge camping area, and fun things to do while youre camping! Also the distance between campgrounds is great!

Paul Caron

Outstanding!

Mark Gross

Although the campsites are all occupied, the majority of people are parents who have brought their kids. Even though there are many children they all seem to be well behaved and respect other people's privacy. This isn't a big park, but it's a good place to relax and enjoy being away from the city.

Melvyn J Purefied

Beautiful place great atmosphere. Definitely kid friendly. This will be a family vacation destination for years to come.

Nate Fish

Decent place. I saw a caterpillar

Megan Rogers

Love the lake at Greenfield State Park. Great little beach for the kids, excellent tree cover and picnic tables for me. Gorgeous views.

Amanda Fernandes

Great campground. Easy to get to, kayaks/canoe for rent at the gift shop. Small Beach area by the lake to swim/tan. Campgrounds clean and large, but most importantly... Private! Plenty of space/trees between you and your neighbor. 1 star down because quiet time could have been later (10pm).

Keith Williams

Go here alot. Get in for free with my wifes car. State park plates 85$ EXTRA. Gets into any N.H. state park for free. If you use it. It's worth it. They charge per person 4 dollars i think

Annette Doody

It was very clean and my grandson loved the water and the playground area.

Patricia April

I had a family that played loud music and had very loud voices with no regard to other campers nearby. Nice park but there needs to be a better way of managing people. I would not come back to this park.

Gary Lamberton

Very spacious areas in very wooded

Tuan Bui

Great place for group camp, live it, super friendly staff. I was at group B, but Group D look like a great spot.

allen arnold

Need to do more about stopping people from playing loud music..DONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE 10 PM QUIET TIME !!

Diane Watson

The bathroom are really dirty the beaches are bad and they never clean the sites. Some of the bathroom are even closed. Shower are dirty.

Corey N Billie B

If negative stars were an optional rating I would rate negative 2. Girlfriend and I camped there for 4 days 2 weeks ago and 3 and half of those days there was no running water, and had to use porta-pottys. One would think that enough for the rating, but there's more. Although I'm not 100% that I caught a parasite swimming in the pond they consider a lake, I'm fairly certain as I've been very sick with vomiting, nausea, cramps, and diarrhea since then. Thanks very much Greenfield State Park. Sincerely, Never Going Back Again

Mike G

Great state park gorgeous sites amazing beach

Nymble

This is a fantastic place to camp. We have camped here on opening day, closing day, and many weekends in between. Fun family spot in the summer. Bring your bikes to explore the park. There is also a paid public beach with a playground and a camper's beach for swimming on the lake. Bathrooms/changing areas are next to both beaches. The park office sells just about every camping item you forgot to bring as well as firewood for your campfire. It's a short drive to the center of Greenfield where there is a small grocery store for anything the park doesn't carry.

Tom Rosswaag

Easy to get to and check-in/check-out process was easy. What I didn't like was that I made a reservation online for a site, 2 kids and 4 adults and pre-paid. Turns out, the $60 I paid online was only for 2 kids and 2 adults, and it was another $40 ($100 total) for the 2 other adults. It was not mentioned anywhere on my confirmation that I had only paid for 2 kids and 2 adults and stilled owed for the other 2 adults. On top of that, the site was a lot smaller than I had expected from the pictures and the ground was hard gravel, which made putting tent stakes in a chore. All in all, this campground isn't worth the money in my opinion, and I will drive further north now for better sites and cheaper prices.

Albert Lanfair

Not only did we not catch a single fish we didn't even see a fish I think the lake is void of fish too bad it's a nice Crystal clean lake could be some stocking due

reinaldo gonzalez

Great place

Carmen Cosme

Great place to relax

Paul Segnatelli

2nd year we've come here. Great, quiet, nice staff. Just a great place to bring your family.

jolie woodby

Beautiful but very noisy.

Kathleen Hawkes

Close to a store in case you forgot anything

fishhuntr

Nice camping aria we come every year for memorial day. The bathrooms could be use some major renovation but hey it's camping.

Candice A

Park was very nice. Sites were good size but we werent able to swim due to bacteria in the water and the water to the bathrooms wasnt working.

Donald Mccoy

If you want a nice quiet, wooded campground then this is the place. Has a nice lake for boating, fishing and swimming. Plenty of hiking trails too.

Paola Penn

We just loved this campground. Definitely coming back.

Nathan Spillane

Great spot for young kids.

Angie

Lovely beach and nice hiking trail. The state employees were very helpful and polite. One of the employees went around to the campsites and let us know of the bat tour at night. Very cool

Douglas Campbell

Fun when the water/beach isn't restricted due to bacteria

Bonnie Cox

Love this place

Dave Voice of NH

This is a typical NH state park, that is, large, rustic campsites and staffed by a good crew. It's not like a KOA or something like an amusement park, but a "back to nature" place with lots of families and natural beauty. I stayed here in my travel trailer, but most campers this weekend were in tents. I have no complaints, although it's supposed to rain all weekend. If you're going to come here, be prepared for whatever weather you may have. (There is no "indoor" to go to other than what you bring with you!) Lots of hiking trails here, suitable for solo or a group. Plenty of water spigots, bathrooms, showers, well placed.

Jerico Johnston

Nice park with the right amenities. Sites are well placed.

Arianah Blanchard

GSP is a great place, good for family or a couple. Campsites are huge and very well spaced, the staff is only intrusive if you aren't following the usual rules and they need to step in. There's a huge playground at the public side of the beach, and another one across the road (where your dog can join you). The pet rules are strict as is typical of most campgrounds (can't be left unattended at all, not even in your vehicle, and can't go anywhere near the beach). Free hot showers, which is a rarity! The only thing that would be better is to have some areas with at least basic hookups. I camp there as often as possible with my kids, try it- you'll love there!

Mary Harper

Very back to nature feeling. Family and pet friendly

Patrick Hovsepian

Great camp site with plenty of trails to hike as well with lots of wildlife. A bit loud throughout the day but everyone is having fun. The staff is great and there's a small grocery store within five minutes so perfect for any last minute or restocking options.

David Masson

it is a great place to go camping. During the week it is very quiet. We haven't gone camping on the weekend there yet.

harsha bharadwaj

Nice place for camping. Both campers beach and the lake were not crowded at all. Very good place for a family outing as well.

Dlee Faulkner

Very nice and quiet. Excellent service.

Ivy Scott

Trails are nice but sometimes rocky, nice views and warm lake.

Igor Lubashev

My favorite camping park. Large and private sites. You truly feel like you are staying in the woods.

chef lee

This park is not up to standards at all. So many of the bathrooms are not fully functional, most toilets listed as out of service. There are no amenities or anything to make the environment a community. No electric provided at the campsites unless you get group camping. The swim area/beach is not maintained at all, it's just a swampy area with trash everywhere. Had to get a refund on my short stay.

Kirk Dubois

This park is very disappointing. The campers beach was cluttered with sea weed and not being taken care of. There are two large mud holes that you have to walk thru to get to the campers beach. Camp sites aren't being raked as they should. Water a the camp ground was spotty and so it was hit or miss if you wanted water. Water was shut off with out warning as I was taking a shower half way thru and was told I could go rinse off in the lake. There were pot-o-potties through out the camp ground. We were never told about the water issues. Trash dumpster was over flowing. All the staff do is drive around in their buggies. About all the staff do is clean the restrooms. Two sinks in the restroom next to site 166 were out of order. This place is so over grown you can't tell where the trails or paths are. NH needs to be putting some effort into this camp ground because people are not coming back. Look at your numbers. I for one mite not be back. Very poor excuse of a campground.

Josh & Katie

Beautiful park. We camped here two nights and explored the park, and hiked nearby pack monadnock one day. Sites are large and have relatively good privacy. Bathrooms are clean and free, and they do have a shower house. It's across the street from a track and playground which was fun.

Amy Duquesnoy

Went this past weekend. Pros: the sites were great sizes and you had privacy from your neighbors. Cons: more than half the campground was closed. I don't know if they have a staff shortage or a camper shortage but the largest camping area was closed. We walked through it and the sites were grassy so it's been closed for at least this season, if not more. The bathrooms were dirty and all of them had at least one stall broken the entire weekend. The beach is pretty sad with weeds starting to choke it out. There are flushable toilets down there but they're locked up and they gave a couple portapotties. This could be a great campground but it seems to suffer from a staff shortage which brings it down.

Nicholas Metz

This is a great, pet friendly campground. A closed bathroom closest to our site was mildly inconvenient, but it is camping after all. Would recommend to others

Jessica Hayes

We go here every summer before school starts. Love that there are flush toilets and showers. Most campsites are mostly private. There is a lot to do from swimming and kayaking in the lake, a big playground and lots of trail to hike. The staff also have daily activity time for The kids. The on-site store doesn't have much but there is a store just a couple minutes down the road.

Daniel Sheehan

Regarding campsites: Large sites that are well maintained. Flush toilets with running water. Well stocked camp store with firewood for sale. Very good spot in Southern NH, with cell service and access to small local towns.

Ed Stevens

Group sites are great. Plenty of space (our groups were 15 - 20 people). We were there midweek and had the group sites to ourselves. 2 metal fire pits in the site we used, both with grates for grilling. Bring bear canisters.

The best staff ever

Alex Smirnov

Very good place to spend weekend day with your family. Grab your picnic basket and grill food... Wish they had children playground...

Ryan Petrain

An excellent campground. Wooded, has a lake with a beach. Never encountered rowdy campers.

Yves M

Chris Ouellette

William Beskalo

Jason Duclos

Jeremy Sacco

Great camping! Nice big sites, great programs for the kids, fun boat rentals and swimming at the lake.

prasanna k

Worth for the time spent. Definitely the lake will make you feel better when alone. One of the nice place to hangout instead of artificial and be with nature with friends.

Jon Daley

The beach isn't as good as it was when I was a kid. It could use some mowing around the edges. But, it provided what we were looking for: a place to have lunch without tons of people around.

Cathy Elliott

I had a wonderful time with my family here. I hadn't been camping in years. The heat was incredible but we all had a great time together.

Daniel Nichols

Not the prettiest in terms of scenery outside the campground, but tons of huge, attractive camp sites with decent amenities and nice staff.

Dewey Johnson

Come here every year with my kids. Peaceful. Nice lake for swimming and other water activities.

shreyas kamath

Awesome place to stay and have some fun with friends!

andrei velichko

no street lights at night time.

Rosalba Ramírez

Excellent to do kayaking and have fun with family and friends.

Timothy Thode

Dirty bathroom. Turds in urinal. Park staff warns me about my portable radio at 6pm but does nothing about people screaming at midnight. Probably will not camp here again.

Tim Murphy

Nice state park

Sandip Ray

Super cool experience! The camp sites are well maintained with ample space for two car parking and two tents. Many restrooms with flush toilet and water taps. Wherever is your tent site you will find one restroom and water tap within walking distance. Have hot shower near the welcome center which is well maintained and open 24 hours. Tent sites have fire rings and 6$ firewoods available at the welcoming me center. Small trails are quite enjoyable on the way to Otter lake. Kayaking in Otter lake is an added fun. I enjoyed a lazy beach day on the Otter lake shore. We were not carrying tubes but would recommend carrying tubes for the kids! Wholesome family adventure and fun filled camping. I will highly recommend this site for adventure loving family.

There are public restrooms and changing area, you can rent canoe's and kiyak's and there's a store for your convenience

Francis Saucier

Small park very nice though. Water was clear

Daniel Demers

We had groups site d. It was amazing. The site was huge. We needed a bigger site because if a birthday party. It was the perfect time to go. Not too many people were there. We had two fire pits and we were 30 seconds from the bathroom.

lorri wurtzler

Nice place to get back to nature and seeing others enjoying camping too

Nick Raso

Wonderful place to stay, has many amenities and is close to town - you're five minutes from the grocery store. The rangers were friendly and helpful.

John Breen

Restrooms didn't have water pressure. Had to use porta-potty. Trails near lake and pond were unpassable because of high water.

Dennis Swan

It has a boat launch , kayak rentals. There three separate beach's and camp grou nd.Ther is shade on one side with grills. The water is fed by a north creak keeping the water fairly clean. There is bathroom house with showers and a snack bar. The Con: it can get very crowded.

mitch mcdougall

Great campsite. Nice weather and not many people!

Elisabeth Gondek

Beautiful spot. Staff is very good to us every year.

Dave Ostrander

The park itself is beautiful, the lake is a bit swampy though. Lots of animals and the camping spots are large and well spaced.

Aw 2

Love the place, dont go on the 4th of july weekends (all the city folk come out lol). The woman working the desk on Friday afternoon July 13th 2018 was rude.

Kelly Craig

Favorite place in the world! Sad to se christine retire!

Robin Phaneuf

fun to camp here

dan conatser

They double booked my site. Then they gave two more sites to try which also double booked. Their reservation system is worthless. After an.hour plus, I finally got an open site. With only two staff people, no rangers ever did their standard camp area drive by,. So we had 2-3 groups up to 1am screaming, partying, drinking and playing their music very loud. No ranger ever came to quiet them down. Not much for a "natural outdoors" experience!!

John McDonough

Visually pretty much the way I remember it growing up in the 80s. Clean park, Noisy at night which is new. Very low ranger presence. I think they could do a better job enforcing park rules. Huge parties going on all day until midnight and a lot of not low key alcohol at the lake. Cigarette butts on the beach. I don't have a problem with people drinking at the lake but this was like a frat party. People fishing in the swimming area. Bathrooms were clean. Beach was kept clean. Campsite still had previous campers lines tied up and cigarette butts and bottle caps all around. (Which we cleaned up.) Folks at the ranger station were very nice. Overall nice but there are nicer NH State Parks.

Gordon Perkins

Very big camp sites, nice little lake with bass in it. Bathrooms were clean. Good campground apparently no bear issues with how garbage is stored in a big open roll off container but we did end up with quite a few ticks, so just be mindful of that.
