REVIEWS OF Flume Gorge IN New Hampshire

Tim Ball

For anyone touring New Hampshire or New England this is a must! Well worth a visit to see this lovely piece of nature with its striking geology. Take the full walking loop to experience the wonder of this place. Take a waterproof just in case. The small placards along the route also add to the understanding of the biodiversity.

It’s Of the easy and beautiful place in white mountains. Half of the trail is covered by a bus service and it is included in the entry pass. Morning is really less crowded and get really crowded by the time goes and it’s even difficult to get a parking spot. The main attraction is the flume gorge consists of a beautiful waterfall that takes your breath and many ancient rocky region. If you decide to walk down by skipping the bus, then you can get the magnificent view of a small pond region and many other cliff view points and view of other presidential mountains. The tails are very well maintained and that makes the hiking easy

Farhan Siddiqui

Wow this is a beautiful trail! You can walk the whole trail or choose to take a shorter path (there’s also a bus available for the initial part of the trail). Flume gorge was great. Other things to see are the Liberty gorge, bear and wolf caves and the pool. It’s a good idea to get the discovery pass if you plan to go on the Cannon Mountain tramway.

Vishvanath Shinde

Amazing hike and awesome falls. It's easy hike with bus as option. 30 min with bus and 1 and half hours with hike

Sharon Winter

Fantastic hike with gorgeous views. Not too difficult, but lots of uphill. Also had a snack bar with some good sandwiches and ice cream. Wonderful experience.

Drew Mestel

Beautiful rocky waterfall views, almost too much to take in all at once. Better with fewer people.

Justin Gilmore

Absolutely beautiful! Everyone can experience this place. Even in wheelchair the flumes can be seen from the top.

Dan Bloomfield

Stunning! The walk through the gorge is beautiful and really accessible for those who are not wanting a massive hike! Although we went in peak season it wasn't too busy and you could take it at your own pace. Our teenage daughters rated this as one of their favourite days on holiday.

Alice Lockser

It's a spectacular place to go for a picture perfect views and a wonderful outdoor walk to amaze your eyes into something I couldn't believe. The workers were so nice and telling us how much it is to get in and how long of a walk it was, it was the most prettiest trips so far!

Adalberto Sodani

A gorge with little water when we visited. Long uphill walk easy not steep descent. Entrance fee little too much.

nn mm

Mother nature's gift...beautiful trail where can walk with families and kids.

Timothy Dillon

Me and the family had a great time. Also strollers are not allowed on the trail so don't plan to bring one, I suggest bringing a hiking pack that has a seat if you have a little one you want to share nature with

Josh Willard

I gave this place 4 stars because it's a very beautiful and easy place to go to. No sketchy trails or parking fees. Just a 5/10 minute walk to see a very cool natural wonder. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

eric gregg

Its a good walk. But an incline most all the way. There are a number of great hikes in the area.

Ilesh Patel

Lot of walking involved but its a great place to visit. Great natural resource and very good experience.

John Toomey

Awesome, the staff is always friendly. Great outdoor visit. New Hampshire Parks are the best.

Rob Kristoff

I have good memories of this place, but at $16 apiece, I couldn't afford to take my wife, myself, and my one kid. Check out The Basin for free!

Greg gk

Great hiking experience. Nice water formations. Check it out!

Kate Torborg

Around $16 a person to walk the trail or ride a bus to the bridge. There are some great covered bridges and gorges in the area that are free if you are looking for a budget friendly alternative.

Julie Moncur

Nice walk - parking spots were hard to find but it was peak summer season. Would enjoy it when waterfalls were gushing water

Brian Yerk

Amazing. Not a long hike at only 2 miles but you quickly gain elevation so it's steep and sometimes a bit tough but totally doable. Benches and little rest shelters on the trail make it very managable for older or not so fit folks. Beautiful hike and well worth the price of the ticket.

David Coulson

Lovely part of the world. The scenery, especially the flume is worth the walk. Trail is easy to moderate with a few fair grades. Plenty of educational items, especially plant identification. The downsides are the traffic, lots of people even during the week, but most are well behaved. A few can't read and follow instructions. A few seem to think they're more important than nature. Second, it's not cheap. $16 each. Few discounts. We bought the combined tram tickets for $31 each.

Nick Tulip

What an amazing hike and the sights will take your breath away.

Elizabeth Rooney

Very clean and staff was friendly. The trails were well labeled along with various plants and flowers. I really enjoyed my time.

Jstmee Adrift

It's a Beautiful hike and the history of white Mountain's it's as your walking threw another time Experience.

Caliegh Baker

Love it here! We go a few times a year- very clean and beautiful! Park is great.

Ashley Moulton

Great place to go if your kids have a lot of energy! Not stroller friendly! There are a lot of stairs. My 4 year old boy loved it. My 2 year old girl got tired quickly and wanted to be carried. Beautiful views. It took us 2 and a half hours to hike through with kids.

Prajakta Rodrigues

It is really beautiful! Had a great time. It's a pretty easy hike even for children

Sandy Smith

Great hike, alot of up and down, beautiful views! Visitor center well maintained and everyone was friendly and helpful.

Dan Volpe

Beautiful scenery, great views on a moderate path. Some parts were fairly steep, but not for long. Gravel and sand path, with signs guiding the way. Cost $16 per adult to enter the walking path.

ja east

So, so beautiful! I'm 79 so I took the bus up partway but even that was fantastic! The scenery is fantastic, breathtaking! Nice welcome center facilities also.

Janice Ruszczyk

Beautiful place to see. 2 mile loop hike on nicely maintained paths that have flower and tree labeling along the way. The water and gorge area are amazing.

Peter Uliano

Gorgeous. Worth the visit. Became a little pricey recently I never remember it costing as much as it does for a short hike but its NH and lately they charge an arm and a leg for everything. The steps can be a challenge for very young kids or the older. The gift shop is decent with sweat shirts, t shirts and the usual gift shop items. Parking is free.

Beth Smith

The Flume is absolutely stunning and the trails are well kept. It's not to be confused with Lost River Gorge.

Steve James

Far too busy, not really a hike just a stroll through the woods, Personally I think kinsman falls (which was also free) was much more fun with my 2 kids aged 9 and 10.

Ben Gerber

A beautiful walk through woods and a river-carved gorge. Not what I'd call a strenuous hike but you'll want to wear good shoes. For slow walkers, plan on about an hour and a half. Shuttle bus available from the club house to the trail head.

Darlene Knous

Beautiful. Clean crisp hair. Amazing over looks. The nature you experiance alone are incredible.

hoodedasylum

It's a very relaxing place to go with lots of beautiful scenes and water running down rocks. It's not very expensive either. Go on a hot day as the running water makes the area cool and refreshing.

Stephen D Henry

Rugged and beautiful. You need to be in good shape it's a hike, but well worth it!

Kim Linonis

Great walk for all abilities. Can be extended for those who want to wander a little further.

William Bennett

Breathtaking beautiful and incredible. Mother nature at its best. The wife and I had a beautiful relaxing hike on the well groomed trails. Staff was very friendly and parking was free with plenty of spots.

Andrew Cignatta

A national treasure. Nature at its raw best. New Hampshire has some great geological features

Kristi Moss

Very Nice people. Beautiful walk and educational. There are 2 caves as well. We had a blast with a group of 7 of us.

Joshua Farrington

This is an absolutely wonderful walk through the White Mountains. While it is priced super high, itwas totally worth it and is one of the prettiest destinations in the New England area. Not to difficult, but it still isn't paved for you so that is nice.

Julie Whitmore

Love visiting the flume! Beautiful site and easy to access. Definitely worth a visit and do the loop to fully appreciate the park. Just note that summer weekends will be busy and parking fills up fast. Just walked it with two young kids (4 and 2) and my 76 year old gram! We all loved it, have been many times and will definitely visit again. Free parking, look for package deals with cannon, and pack a lunch (basic overpriced cafe food available on site).

inbal solomon

Beautiful trail! Mostly easy, but there is some uphill. We did the trail from end to start, meaning we started at the glacial Boulder and finished the the red covered bridge. I think it was better, maybe that meant more uphill but that way the gorge was in the end- it's the best part!!

Justin Tuggle

Excellent hike, beautiful views, incredible fall colors. Make sure to continue to walk past the flume to liberty gorge, across the covered bridge. These are the best views for mountains, river, and sweeping views of fall foliage. Total walk, 2.1 miles. Strenuous. The hike to the flume is steep and strenuous. Past that point there are some inclines, but most is down hill. If you skip this you really missed the best part of the hike.

Josh Lima

A beautiful hike through a natural Gorge with a river running through it. Take your time and enjoy the breath taking scenery.

Nahum Dimond

I honestly think that the prices could be adjusted. Other than that it's a beautiful place and is great for the kids to teach them the history of the White Montains. It's the same as when I was both my kids ages.

Karina Bagdasarova

Loved this trail . We came with two little kids and enjoyed it at all .

Yidi Zelcer

Take all the longer routes and branches. The basic path misses most of the pretty sights.

hillary simpson

I really loved thia place as a kid. I took my son here this summer (2019) and it was just as amazing. We went on a Saturday and it was rather busy even for the impending rain storm. It was a little slippery in spots but overall safe. My son had so much fun exploring the wolf den cave and seeing the waterfalls. It was a relatively easy hike/walk but there are many sections of stairs on the boardwalk and it can get narrow in places.

Rocco Novielli

We didn’t pay to do the tour. It’s $16 for each adult. I recommend going tot he visitors center. It is beautiful with a nice theatre and video of Franconia Notch History. After the video and all the photos, we didn’t feel the need to do the hike. It was also rainy.

Ashish Satyabhashak

I would say I was expecting more comparing the amount of money they charge. This came out way short in terms of my expectation. Very unique experience of water mixed with granite can cool down surrounding temperature drastically in very short distance. There is a fall called avalanche falls and bear cave very next to falls.

Sean Lynes

Incredible park! The gorge is beautiful, but so is "the pool" and the covered bridge nearby. Several waterfalls as you take the 1.5 mile hike around. The hike isn't very steep or strenuous but it could overwhelm elderly or children. Tickets for adults are $16, so a little expensive, but it's well maintained and very scenic. Bring your camera!

Joe Vande Vusse

The hike was fun with good views. It was pretty short and not too difficult. It also had a cute gift shop.

Hawaiian Hippie

I expected to see the log flume like at Disneyworld but was instead greeted with beautiful mountains and waterfalls. Oddly enough the lines were almost as long as Splash Mountain. My only complaint was the price of food! $48 for lunch for a family of 3. My poor poor wallet.

Trinity Torgerson

Absolutely stunning. Incredible intermediate trails with great sights and history on the way.

Alexis US

This was beautiful! One thing to note, the walk may be too strenuous if you're not in good shape or have medical issues. It's through the woods and shaded so it's not very hot. The gorge is such a spectacular sight! It took about 1.5 hours to complete and we had kids 13 and 8 who could easily do it. Loved this place!

Someone from Somewhere

Beautiful scenery at every turn but it can be a very narrow trail as theres various hills that both go up and down. To add on to this there are only about five spots to take a sit and relax. But it made up with every rest stop that offers you to look upon a certain place such as a lake, a wolfs den, and even a waterfall. Once again though if you are new to exercising this will probably be very hard for you but if you do decide to try it, the scenery makes up for the jard work you endure during the trail.

Kiran Shettar

Beautiful place.. Must visit place for people who enjoy the sound of water fall.. Easy trail.. should not take more than 2 hours..

C Angell

Beautiful. Breathtaking. Easy hike to the falls but there is also a bus if needed. A must do when you are in Lincoln.

love travel

$17 per person to take ur little children to experience safe hike & hx

Bernadette BenShay

Beautiful This is beautiful, walking through the woods is just Heavenly. We were very lucky we had perfect weather

Shoshanna Sarria

Wanderful weekend .too much to see and do. Good place to visit.

Sarath Babu

You must take a full hike and it is pure bliss. Take water and some food if you have kids and elders with you. Such amazing experience of taking hike here.

Tony Singer

Nice moderate 2 mile hike to see a beautiful waterfall and stream with towering walls of granite around you.

chaya blum

its nice. but I wouldnt pay money for this hike. I think there are as nice hikes for free

John Holchin

Stunning location to see. My wife and I went with our 2 year old and 5 year old. We spent about 1.5 hours doing the short hike with the little one in the carrier and stopping for a lot of pictures. The boardwalks feel plenty sturdy, but there are areas where I was holding tight to my 5 year old. Be prepared for it to get a bit chillier in the gorge. The trail up to the gorge is a nice hike and we enjoyed learning the new of the labeled plants. The shop has a really good selection of shirts and other souvenirs.

Tammy Liu

At $16/adult, I thought it was expensive at first. But after walking thru the 2 miles, not as much. It was a really enjoyable hike, mostly shaded, with quite a few beautiful views! Not too challenging, great for families!

Tal Potishman

Great day out with the family. Although hilly, the hike isn't hard and can be done with young kids. The Gorge is beautiful ands the water flow makes this a dramatic experience.

Jim Thorpe

Great place to visit. Moderately hard path in places but bus available part way for those who need it. We'll worth stopping for.

Nishant hariharan

So green and pretty. Not too crowded when I visited

Todd Kelmar

Beautiful hiking trail, we went on a good day when it wasn't too crowded and combined our trip with a ride up the gondola in Franconia Notch, you can get a ticket that get's you access to both (and you don't have to do both on the same day for the ticket to work which is good). The gorge is beautiful, and though the walkways are narrow it was not crowded when we went. It was nice and cool near the gorge which was welcome relief from heat that day. The paths are pretty well shaded and there are shorter and longer trails to take. For the less hiking-inclined or people in a time crunch, there is a bus from the visitor center to the gorge, but there is still substantial hiking at the gorge and you miss some beautiful hiking.

Tejaswi Boja

Very beautiful waterfalls in NH, to access this place you should climb steps. I visited this place in June the wether was perfect and not crowded. If you plan to visit in peak summer months expect this place to be crowded.

Eric Zimpfer

I've been to the Flume many many times, but it's always beautiful and worth the trip. It's a bit of a hike; an easy hike, but a hike nonetheless, so be prepared. Most of the gorge itself is traversed by boardwalks, which are clean and well maintained. It's worth taking the long way back, the trails and views are spectacular.

Olya RK

This place is incredible! We went here couple weeks ago and the weather was perfect, also wasn’t crowded. I’ve been to similar waterfalls but haven’t had so much excitement at any of the places. I don’t know what exactly is it. Just find out on your own.

Suzanne Gough

Well worth a visit we were unable to do the walk as we were on a bike tour passing through but we went into the welcome centre and read up on it. Well worth a trip but dress accordingly

Uji Servai

Such a beautiful scenic place, a must do when your in Lincoln. It is perfect to go with family as it's not a difficult walk and the waterfalls and place is just breathtaking. A place where you are surrounded by nature, love how the plants are labelled and learned so much along the way. It's amazing how seeds germinate on top of the rocks and become such beautiful trees with their roots amazingly finding the soil and reaching deep down into the ground. Recommend taking your time and taking snacks to eat at one of the scenic viewpoints.

Kathy Bacon

What a beautiful walk. Magnificent scenery. Going early was quiet, and seeing so many families arrive was great!

Brett Lussier

It was pretty good. Some of the walking might be tough as it is mostly up hill. The views are great though.

Christopher Menard

This place is absolutely amazing. One of the best hikes in my life, with breathtaking scenery. There is also a very nice gift shop in the visitor center. Not to outrageous on there prices either. My wife and I will definitely be revisiting this treasure in New Hampshire.

Les Aqua

Amazing view and amazing hike. It is well worth the price to get to experience the gorge on a wooden path with rails. Take the long path back for a nice walk through the woods

Joe Chaithanya

A must visit spot in all of new England. The gorge is magnificent. Wear comfortable clothing and hiking footwear. Other nearby attractions are the Cannon mountain, Echo Lake.

Jayden Kitai-Sangero

The best thing to see in the white mountains. Amazing view, trails and scenary. Worth every cent.

Christy Epperson

Flume Gorge is a ‘must do’ if you ever get the chance. We went through twice because it is so beautiful. There is also a nice walk which includes a small waterfall, abeautiful crystal clear pool, a covered bridge you get to walk over and more. It was $16 for each adult. We definitely recommend this extraordinary gorge.

Trimguysteve

Admission to this attraction is $16 for Adults and the very 1st thing you walk up to is more than worth the cost of admission. The track up in through the flume is spectacular and breathtaking. When you begin this trek I recommend you go counter clockwise beginning at the bottom of the Flume.

Jessica Van Dyke

I have never been a super outdoorsy person and definitely haven’t been on many hikes. My wife and I decided to do this on our honeymoon and I’m so glad we did!! The Flume Gorge was so cool and picturesque. The walk down was not too bad and mostly downhill. We had a great time making memories on this easy hike!

Bill and Beth Russell

Cool trail in the White Mountains. But it is very steep in many spots so wearing good (hiking)shoes is really a must. I was shocked how expensive it is though ($31 per person). It was nice to be where our daughter was proposed to seven years ago. All and all we recommend visiting.

K Kp

Let me start by saying that We ( myself and my two children aged 8-11) had never been on a hike before and I was worried that this would be too much for everyone. This hike was not too much and will take you about 2 1/2 hrs to complete. It is absolutely breathtaking hike and is a good hike for people thinking of hiking for the first time. You will not regret it. Lots of places to sit and rest. Bring your camera and don’t forget the water. Come in the fall, the colours are mesmerizing.

Petra Thacker

Lovely views, both of the gorge and waterfall and out over the surrounding area. The walk is a bit steep in places and there are a fair few stairs here and there, but nothing too strenuous. We didn't rush and stopped and took pictures here and there and completed the loop in just over an hour. The visitor centre has a cafe, but it is quite basic. The parking is plentiful and free and the restrooms in the visitor centre are well looked after. There is also a gift shop and a big stand with brochures and leaflets for other local attractions.

Curtiss West

One of the coolest and most beautiful parks I've ever been too. The main gorge and Sentinel Pine Bridge are absolutely stunning.

Ralph Cairl

The whole area was spectacular...we walked amount 6 miles on the trail and at every turn it was amazing

Emma Johansen

Beautiful area with lots of history detailed along the flume walk! About a two hour walk at a slower pace but we'll worth the time and money!

Maria Roshon

What an amazing state park! My family and I had a wonderful time! You can definitely spend a few hours here. If you walk the entire trail you’ll see covered bridges, glacial boulders, caves and of course, Flume Gorge! If you have trouble walking, you can take a bus to the bottom of the gorge , but there is still a bit of walking and stairs to climb. The visitors center has a 20 minute movie, the gift shop is nice and they have a small restaurant with fairly reasonable prices. It’s definitely worth the

Kyleigh Potter

Flume Gorge was one of the best hikes I had been on all summer. The breeze from the waterfalls kept the woods very cool and there were barely any bugs. Trails were wide enough for my boyfriend and I to walk together. Very picture worthy and just a great trip.

Walter Ferreira

With all the grants that the state park gets from the government you figures it wouldn't cost a family of 4 $60. It says they are non profit org,...... No military discount and this is memorial weekend. You better off hike other trails.

Robert Carinci

This is a great place to walk and de some amazing natural sights. There is a lot of uphill walking and stairs, so be prepared. It’s a beautiful place and it’s worth the hike. I took the long way back, it was a little extra walking but very nice. This is a great spot to check out.

Sreeshma o.k

Nice place for family trekking. My 4 year old walked for 2 miles. Beautiful place to visit

zombie crazy

Amazing discovery. Completely worth the trip! Thrilled experience !!!! Getting to watch waterfalls that close. People who enjoy mist covered breeze from waterfalls a must go place. One of the finest waterfalls.

Jason Burke

Easy to get to, plenty of parking for vehicles, buses, and RV trailers. Restaurant on site with great menu, and nice easy hike for those in reasonably good health

Ehud Zion Waldoks

It's nice but not the most impressive water based walk in New England. Lost River, Watkins Glen, Ausable Chasm are cooler. This is nice if you don't plan on seeing any of the other ones on your trip. Friendly staff.

Diane Peeso

Lot of neat rock and water. Not for the weak legged, walk to the top was tough

Rachel Johnsen

Awesome park, well maintained, great visitors center. A must-see for nature lovers, especially those looking for a quicker trip.

Mark Heaviland

For a state park we were very disappointed. It was $74 for our family to walk the 1/4 mile Gorge. It was beautiful, but the signs were in need of repair, the info on the shuttle was a static CD, and the front desk people were rude. After going to Watkins Glen for $8, which was equally stunning, we felt the state was not charging a fair price. Yellowstone was less expensive!

russell pinard

When did it become so touristy that you had to buy tickets to go on the trail that there's a giant Visitor Center. I brought my son up here for the first time only to see that my childhood memories at the place I've been paved over handmade a center of prophet

Peter Caron

Uphill but relatively easy walk up the gorge. Lovely, well kept state park with many photo "ops". Good for kids and adults. Plan on 90 minutes to 2 hours to do it right.

Betty Piazza

Would give a 6 star if able. We took the 2 mile loop, took approximately 1.5 hrs. This walk is for fit walkers only, many steps and land elevations. Views are beautiful.

Steph Karl

Love love love. Easy hike. Lots of spot for photography. Sometimes a bit crowded but you can avoid them in the photos which is great

SUBHENDU MAJUMDER

Beautiful place to be with Family and friends. Good for adventure lovers. There is easy trek through the gorge for about 4KM. Please do not litter inside the gorge. The frankonian notch/ old man's head couldn't be visible or may not have looked at correct place. Definitely a place where you can visit again.

Patrick Chambers

My wife and I made an impromptu trip up here and it made for a very nice hike. We just went up to Avalanche Falls and took the rim trail to loop back around the other side. The trail is wide and very well maintained up to the gorge itself. There the trail gives way to a wooden walkway built into the rock. The walkway is sturdy with handrails but is narrow enough in some spots so passing people can be awkward. Spray from the falls or rain can may the wood very slippery so wear proper footwear. If you return after the office closes, it is a very awkward and poorly directed walk around the building to get back to the parking lot. Hopefully the park is working on a more direct route out. In the meantime, be sure to be back before they close up or pay close attention to the signage. Other than that it is a great little hike that should be easily walked by all ages!

M S

Lincoln, NH my dream place to live. The gorge is amazingly beautiful

Zach Luse

This is a great little hike right off the highway. It's a little pricey for the whole family but worth it. There's a fairly easy 2 mile loop that takes you up the gorge on a wooden walkway. Once through the gorge there's a route that takes you past a couple nice views of the mountains and across an old timber bridge high above a pool. Summer weekends can get crowded. Rainy days or midweek are much less crowded.

Neha Maheshwari

Very nice hike, not that long, you should take the hike route instead of bus. And its a small walk to flume gorge. Nice waterfall. It looka so nice when there is more water. Will be hard who has walking issues, has some stairs

Mike Thornhill

Definitely worth the price of admission. It takes about an hour and a half to walk the trail. Not too challenging though.

Daniel Kerwin

You gotta visit the flume when in New Hampshire. Wow. Serenity at it's best. Great all around. Wear appropriate foot wear for the trail.

Chaz La

My first nature walk in New England. Unforgettable experience that has to be seen by all who visits the northeast.

Malinda Butz

Incredible! I would definitely do it again. The trail was relatively easy (wide with gravel and walkways) and well maintained. We got some awesome pictures, even a butterfly landing on my husband's hand. 5 stars!

Shahar Abramovitch

So beautiful. Great and comfortable trail fits to families with little children.

Andrew Vogeli

Absolutely amazing natural wonder! Decent length hike, multiple ways to shorten. Solid trail with boardwalk, railings and good markers.

chef lee

Honestly, a beautiful place due to the environment and it's natural structure. Not good that it has turned into a high priced, overcrowded, little attraction. Along with the long drive most people take, it's not worth it. It's better to go during winter when you can explore for free and not have the crowd, plus pictures will be awesome.

Rahul Sinha

This is a very well maintained trail with huge ecological diversity. So much to learn. But trust me this is one of the most popular trail in the franconia range. Very common among all the different types of tourists. You you want to visit this I would recommend reaching there when it opens in the morning at 8:30am. I say so because when we were done at around noon, the queue for the tickets was so long, from the visitor centre to outside upto the parking lot. All the plants and rocky formations are labelled nicely and well maintained. Remember to ask a ranger about the white plants without chlorophyll ("Indian Pipe"). Also its really nice to understand how the granite gorge was formed. They used to be covered in ice during the ice age and because of all erosion activities and climate change, the level of land has gone down below the level of the granite and hence the flume gorge was formed. Its an easy trail for all age groups. Many tourists come in groups and take the shuttle till the hut instead of walking. The hut comes after around 20 minutes on the trail. But overall its a very nice trail. Very unique. They charge you because they have to maintain the entire trail. Suggest buying the discovery pass: u can see both the flume gorge and do the Canon mountain tramway and save some bucks. Just go there early to avoid the crowd

Vanessa Bumpus

Beautiful 2 mile hike! The gorge is very cool and the kids loved learning about it. The signage could use some updating. Great areas for photographs. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water!

Monique

Great introductory "hike" for families who have young kiddos. Our three kids made it through the 2.2 mile loop. It's definitely helpful to have snacks on hand, as you'll likely need to stop a few times throughout. It's also helpful to have a baby carrier for ages 2 and under, as there are many steps to climb. It's all worth it for the lovely views of the gorge and the "pool" area. We also got a picture of us with the covered bridge, which is now a family tradition that started when our first child was an infant.

Phevie Boy & Chassy Gal Goodwin

Nice spot to visit. A tad pricey for the entrance fee even though it supposedly went to the maintenance of the trails and facility. We paid $16 for adults to enter the hiking trail which has lots of steps and uphill grades. Visitors center had a free info theatre which was nice and helped us decide if we wanted to even do the hike for the cost. Restrooms and gift shop were clean and orderly. Prices on souvenirs and such were average.

Cindy B

Been so many times and always love this adventure. Take family and friends here when they visit, as well. An incredible way to spend a day.

Diana Bailey-Kent

Worth the money! The hiking trail is around two miles and is suppose to take only a little over an hour to complete but my husband and I had to stop many times to enjoy the beauty of nature so it took us over two and a half hours.

Mario Christianto

Con: not free. May be difficult if you're pushing a baby stroller (I did, with difficulty). Pro: very nice trail with good mix of uphill and downhill slopes. Beautiful gorge and stream. Most of the trail has good shade. Clean bathroom at the visitor center.

Jeffrey Mchugh

It was beautiful. The hike in total was about an hour and a half. Its an easy hike, but there is an uphill portion and stairs. Go early! Crowded in the afternoon.

X Feng

I’m not saying there is anything wrong with the attraction. However they charge $16 each which is totally not justified. Don’t get me wrong if you want to donate $16 it is your choice but you can see similar thing for free everywhere. Just hit the road for Basin or take any free trail in this area.

Andrea VanDeBogart

What a wonderful place to stop. Bit of a hike up and down the well maintained path. Breathe taking when you arrive at the bridges that take you to the top. Most definitely picture worthy.

Abhirup Dutta

A great place to enjoy nature. Easily one of the most beautiful places in all of white mountains. Can get somewhat crowded. The visitor center staff were very helpful. Wish they charged less for the entry though. $16 per person is a little too much. I’ve have seen similar gorges in NY for free.

Mala Maurer

One with nature with the help of people to make this park beautifully safe to explore and easily accessible. Excellent place to stretch the legs on the way to Quebec.

Mike Stone

Even though it's very crowded, and everyone posts Instagram pics of the same spot, this place is incredible and worth the price of admission. It's beautiful and unique.

Roxann Tyger

Fantastic place to visit and was the highlight of our trip! Absolutely beautiful! It's a good bit of walking, which we enjoyed.

Sean P

Me and my girlfriend had a great hike and experienced Alot together, thank you.

Worth the admission, it's an easy going hike that gives you wonderful views of the NH mountainous wilderness, and of the gorge itself. The air was cool and refreshing and the walkway that takes you down the length of the flume was great!

Great hike to do with the family. Several great viewpoints and plenty of places to stop and rest. The trails were all well maintained and easy to follow.

This is a New Hampshire must. The path takes you along a narrow ravine with cool clear water and from the base to the waterfall at the top is majestic. The path is easy to walk but gets crowded with people at times. The brown granite walls and rain forest appearance are a sight to be seen. Exiting the path brings you to a second gorge with a covered bridge that travels at least 100 feet above the bottom. There is also a small cave that is a very narrow fit. Winter visitors-I think this is when the flume has its greatest majesty. The path is mostly closed but you can still catch glimpses of large icicles descending into the gorge. Ice climbers frequent the area as well.

We all had a Blast... it was so beautiful! I love when our family can all spend time together!

Greg Rice

A natural rock formation that is spectacular. The hike around the park is about two hours, three if you take it all in.

Linda Toomey

It was Beautiful!! Although May is best ti.e to walk it. October was really pretty with fall foliage.....

Amanda Rochette

Awesome walk with plenty of rest areas if you or your kids need a break. Beautiful!

Absolutely breathtaking! The natural rock formations and waterfalls are so beautiful, and the State of NH and park employees have done an amazing job keeping the trails manicured and clean so you can get up close to all of it!

Amazing hike (even for all my lazies out there) Great clear track with little to no room for getting lost. The paths are all well maintained and there's signs all along the paths under each different type of greenery along the path. Breathtakingly beautiful scenery all year round

Terry Sun

So nice we were here, it's a hidden treasure in NH, definitely worth of visiting

Helen Nguyen

It’s an amazing park with beautiful trails and streams. Enjoyed my time there!

Ryan Saucier

Really beautiful park. Well maintained. Moderate hike. I’ve been to larger national parks with similar view for less money, over $40 for my family of 3

If the pictures don't explain why I gave it a five star review, I don't know what to tell you

Awesome hiking experience with my girlfriend during our trip to New Hampshire. Super fun 2 mile loop that shows off many of the cool parts of the New Hampshire woods. 10/10 would hike it again.

Joe Kuprevich

State run park with lots of parking. Trails are well maintained with many spots with benches along the way. 2 miles to get to the gorge and back but well worth the walk in.

Charles Muller

Such a beautiful place. The forces of nature are truly on display here. A cool trip up the Flume on a walkway with sections of stairs then a mile or so through the woods with many scenic stops on route back to the Visitors Center. There are plenty of benches and some open huts for rest stops in case you need it.

Scott Goulet

Beautiful place! We took lots of pictures and enjoyed the hike very much.

Probably one of my favorite spots to visit in this state. Bring some bottled water. Hike is easy as cake. Take lots of pictures as you'll enjoy it. Can get a bit wet by the gorge so check the weather, maybe bring a rain jacket. Oh and bring quarters if you need to use the payphone. It actually works. Maybe show your kids what a phone used to look like. Anyhow great place. Stay cool and dry!

Renee Willard

Gorgeous park. Seriously the hike was incredible and I am so glad I went here!!!

Rudy Bagonia

Great views. Price is a little high. A lot of uphill walking and steps, but worth the effort.
