I looked going here too walk around and take photos of the red rocks and mountains. The parking lot can fill up on weekends days especially when there weather is just right but it's free.

I came here for a meditation and it was beautiful. My kids went hiking and said it was an easy walk. Definitely cooled down as the sun set, so bring a jacket.

Beautiful, maintained but kept very natural. A lot less foot traffic than nearby red rock canyon. Tucked away in calico basin parking can fill up quickly sometimes

I hike here frequently. There are lots of trails, all fairly easy, and you can make your own up in the rocks. You'll see rock climbers along many trails; Calico Basin has a lot of good places for climbing. Interesting rock formations, nothing terribly steep, and you'd really have to work at getting lost. True, trails cross each other, but just follow the rocks and you can get back to your car easily.

I love these trails! Great for trail running, biking or just a nice walk. Usually not many people on the trail system compared to Red Rock Canyon which is very close by.

One of the prettiest trails in the Red Rock Canyon area and great for kids. Close to parking throughout, but if you start on this side, it is a little bit longer hike.

Stunning views, always plenty of parking, and it's free! Plenty of room, so even if it's busy, you'll rarely encounter too many people on your hike. Highly recommend.
