Here you will see the information of real people like you who bought the services and products of Platte River State Park (Park) near to the state of Nebraska.
At the moment this firm has a score of 4.6 out of 5 and the rating was based on 685 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is virtually the highest, and it's founded on a large number of feddbacks, so we can say that the evaluation is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are pleased with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to give evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Park is classified in the category of State park.
6$ to get in lots to explore! We used it for a photoshoot with a mermaid since they have a waterfall. The waterfall was a little busy but all really nice people! They have easy medium and hard trails and the front desk was very helpful to show us where the waterfall was. You can also rent cute cabins! Also horse rentals!
Great hiking. We've paddle boated, fished, and looked for crawdaddys and Crawdaddy Creek. This is one of the coolest places to take your kids without travelling too far from the city! Incredibly clean and the staff has always been very pleasant and knowledgeable.
Pretty, fun, but don't come here in the summer to camp in a tepee. Sweltering doesn't even begin to describe it. That said, definitely come visit. It's beautiful, and if I had realized the tepee situation ahead of time, I would have had a much more enjoyable stay
I love Platte River State park! It has awesome trails to walk in that aren't too difficult but man do they work up a sweat! Lots of hills, which I enjoy.
Had a great time with hubby and friends
Nice park. Held my son's wedding thete
Absolutely love this park. So much to do and great for a family outing.
This park currently only has cabins. They are very rustic for the standard cabins. Although, they do offer "glamping" cabins that are pretty nice. The park offers paddle boats, horse riding, trails, small water park, and an observation tower. A great place for families.
The park is great for family hiking. Hiking to the waterfall is only 1/2 mile easy home. The tower is right next to a parking lot. There is a spray park for minimal fee, but it's really only for kids under 6. Even on a beautiful sunny weekend day in summer the park has barely any crowd. It's a great way to spend 1/2 day with family.
Nice area, lots to do,besides hiking and fishing
Great fishing at paddle boat pond! Cought many catfish, a few large mouth bass and a snapping turtle. Also picnick tables to cook breakfast on for those "early risers"
Absolutely AMAZING park!
Great place to explore nature!!!
I stayed in a teepee and one thing I gotta say is to clean them. There is also the high ammount of spiders and at night the site is great.
I love this state park, it’s almost half an hour away from Omaha. Nice, quiet, blissed park with lots of walking roads, entertainment and camping areas. I don’t really know about cabins and prices but those cabins have amazing view. My favorite place in this park is Lincoln Journal Tower. They also have horse riding and swimming pool too. If you haven’t been there then you should.
Perfect Getaway very secluded considering there's multiple cabins on the premises. Just wish there were more pictures online
Beautiful place, lots of fun.
Platte River State Park where do I start? great with great places as for for swimming a splash pad for younger kids and multiple hiking trails you can hike at your speed along with horseback riding and shooting range this would be a great place to take more than one kid as it doesn't really pricey.Platte River State Park is also for those who are adventurous and people who also would like to have a nice day nice quiet day too 10 out of 10 would recommend.
nice rusticish cabins a water park and plenty of trails to walk
Great trails and observation deck. Play areas for kids and a tennis court.
Walked out to the falls, very peaceful. I really needed natures call that day.
Great get away place. The many detour signs confuse spotting the park signs
Been coming here for several years. The park is always quiet and beautiful. Trails are great for walking. Every year there are always new updates to the park. Kind of a hidden secret.
Such a nice and relaxing, clean and fun place! Best vacation spot
Its great place and im givin it ah makeover.. Come visit soon!
Cabins were nice, plenty of hiking and fun.
Beautiful, less crowded than some of the other nearby parks. Great hiking trails. Don't forget to stop at Owen's Landing for ice cream and paddle boating. If you want a cabin on the weekend during peak season, you'll probably have to book a year in advanced.
It is a great place to hang out with family.but.....BRING HAND SANITIZER THE BATH ROOMS DON'T HAVE SOME
Went out to see friends at night and had never been there before so it was kinda interesting to figure out where to go . my friends stay out here every year and seems to Think it's a fair price for what you get. Would lije to see thisbplace during the day
So many fun activities for all ages! Great hiking trails.
Wonderful food, friendly people, great atmosphere. Great to be in the beautiful outdoors. You will love it.
Wonderful place to spend a great weekend!
Took my four year old to the splash pad. It was awesome. Then we headed down to the docks and had ice cream. Cute place
Fun place, not as crowded
I loved how peaceful it was!
I stayed with a group in the Strawberry cabins, and they were great! Very clean, more than enough space for all of us. Extremely impressed with how well-kept the showers and bathrooms were. The hiking trails right behind the cabins were beautiful! The sheltered area with picnic tables, in the same pavilion as the bathrooms, was perfect for playing card games while it rained. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was good, especially for less than $6 a person. Lots of things to do that we didn't have a chance to, will definitely be back!
Great place to hike
The water fall is amazing
Love it great hiking n tent camping
Park is gorgeous, cabins are lovely. Had our wedding there are the staff was so helpful and accomodating!
One of my favorite places are the Lincoln/Omaha area to hike and explore
The hiking and activities are top notch.
Great place to walk some trails and get some fresh air. Very pretty sights with the watch tower, ponds, and little water falls. Some friendly advice, just don't go when the trails could be icy or muddy!
My friends and I had a great time camping for my birthday weekend. Nice accommodations and fun activities. Archery, shooting range, pellet guns- very fun. I'll be back for sure!
Beautiful place! Just know you have to pack all your camping stuff in, not a big deal if your young!
Best place to mountain bike in Nebraska
Nice place to stop just off of 80
State park facility. Enterance membership required. Wild life allergy USA. Fun places inside and out. Was with large group of kids. Had lunch at picknic area and hiked on one of the many trails. Feed the Geese and fish. Lots of room for running and exploring. Need to keep an eye out. Easy to loose one if you're not watchful.
Great trails! A little dated.
TONS to do here! The nature trail, the observation tower, the falls, splash pad are all so much fun! There’s paddle boat rentals, craft den, horseback riding and more! The cabins look fun and I might be excited for camping there on the new campsites (WITH water hookups and electric) but they are quite close and no shade since no trees currently. I think it’ll be great for camping in 10 years though.
Lovely place for hiking. I had gone with group of friends and it was so much fun. We enjoyed some mulberries during our hike
Great getaway for kids. Paddle boats, a shooting range and horse back riding are just a few of the many activities available for kids.
I am so glad that I discovered Platte River State Park - it has great amenities and alot of stuff to do. I was also able to take my daughter and neice horseback riding. This was something that I was not able to do at Mahoney State Park because the spots always filled up so darn quick.
Great place for hiking.
Cool water park for kids but buggy and steamy hot cabins during the summer months. Also, be prepared to pay the park entry tax when you enter with rates dependent on your state residency and vehicle registration situation.
The splash pad addition is great fun for our kids. The price is worth the trip south of Omaha to visit for the afternoon.
Nice hike, cool for biking as well and horse riding. The lookout tower is an interesting experience with the looking through metal floor and the height provides a nice perspective on the area's landscape.
Beautiful views if you have the guts to climb the tower!
One of my favorite places to camp
Great hiking trails. Park was very clean and the staff were very nice.
Looks super neat and is a really good experience. Only issue is I've been there twice and both times it was hard to find where to start hiking. I went in the fall both times so I'll definitely be excited to go again in the summer time.
Excellent place for recreation!
Not impressed with this state park at all. Yes they have things to do, but it all closes before 6. This Is very disappointing when you can't check into your cabin until 4. And why is it called Platte river state park when you can't get into the river? Even the staff told us several times that we had to go to Louisville state park. Which is where we will go from now on, or two rivers.
Love the New Splash Pad, the ponds for the kids to explore and the horseback riding.
Best slash Park, by far!
Clean area, great summer activities for kids and fishing is now open for all ages (catch and release only)
Breakfast buffet at "the Lodge" on Sunday Morning. Tons of food at a great price.
We did the hike to the falls and the kids played there for more than an hour. It's fun, and you don't have to pay extra for it(you have to buy a park sticker if you don't already have one). After that we ate in a nice picnic area near that, with a playground that the kids loved. It is definitely a good place for kids!
I saw that this place has a waterfall in the pictures. Lol it is very small then I expected. Nature trail me an my friends enjoyed the walk. Amazing 360 view from the watch out tower.
It's a very nice park but the park maintenance attendant yelled at me for using my drone to capture this wonderful image. I mainly like the park for the hiking and the observation tower. Dogs love the west side of the park where they have created these cascading waterfall pond areas. My dog loves to wade in and cool off. ☺️ If my review was helpful, please smash that thumbs up button. And if you like the photos please click the like button on all of those as well.
Had a great time on the path today. We saw a deer less then 20 feet away and took a bunch of pics, it was very calm. It was raining but the trees blocked it and it was just a mist.
Awesome cabins that we stayed in....... Owen cabins
Great little place to wander around and free your mind
What a great place to hike or relax. The cabins look like they are in good shape too if you're looking for a place to get away.
Beautiful area. I wish the trails were marked betterb though
Beautiful park, wonderful trails. We had a great visit. We have never had a bad visit here.
A great leisure time with nature an inexpensive way to relax and unwind
Horse riding, Shooting Range, Archery, boating and many other activities are available. Nice place to visit
Fun and beautiful place for a family reunion. Spacious, clean and comfy cabins.
Love to climb the towers and look out over the country side
If you want a beautiful park that you can step into the wilderness & enjoy this is a Great Park to visit!
Great place for everyone, walk the trails and find the waterfall
Wish the maps were more clear, but the trails are nice and little falls are beautiful
For hiking I think this is one of the best places in eastern nebraska close to Omaha.
Not a lot of variety (really just one big loop as far as i could tell), but the trail is awesome.
Love the trail walls and mini waterfalls, so much to explore, not a hard walk at all! Will be back when the weather is better for sure!
All the “attractions” take away from the purpose of a state park.
Very clean, people who work here very nice. Some people not keeping dogs on leash, letting them run free
A fantastic park, perhaps my second favorite in Nebraska. (The first being Niobrara Wildlife Preserve) an amazing place to get away from Omaha for the weekend, or lincoln for that matter.
Neat place to go hiking.
There are great trails in the wooded areas. And going to the top of the tower to get the view in every direction is wonderful
Clean park with a great deal of winding, quiet hiking trails. Can't wait to try one of the new glamping cabins.
Fun park with many activities to do.
Nice hiking trails, made it down to the falls.
Eating breakfast are on Memorial Day is always great fun
Great fishing and family fun!
A pretty little park. Cabins, fishing, swimming areas, picnic and camping areas.
Beautiful park. Trails everywhere. Must stop in at the office for trail maps, information on fishing, cabin rentals, horse back riding, archery and shooting range and the restaurant!
Platte river state park is a nice place to camp
I absolutely loved this place!!!! I hadn't been there in years, and I'd forgotten how much there is to do and how beautiful it is!!!! We'll come again this fall!!!
Great hiking for all ages. Beautiful way to spend the day in nature!
fun place to go. Kind and helpful staff
Blue Heron cabin was clean and all cooking utensils and paper products were provided. They even had extra blankets and towels, though I didn't use them. The doors will automatically lock behind you if you dont turn lock on knob; I didnt expect that and locked myself out! I called the phone number provided and they had someone out in a short time. I had a great time walking the trails; at least one was undergoing maintenance but it didn't hinder activity. I wish they had a more extensive gift shop as I like to commemorate special occasion trips but that'd be my only qualm, and a small one at that!
It was beautiful
Beautiful place, nice people, great to go and relax, some cabins don't have bathrooms in them but that's okay, they're not far. Tower is a little wobbly, just something you get used to. Overall, highly recommend
Beautiful park!! Great for the family.
Love the trails at the park not as easy as they say
I grew up camping out there, and so many fond memories are there and my whole entire family. I miss my whole entire family. Some of them have already passed away and all I have our memories. This place takes me back see what I I was younger and we were all alive.
Little something for everyone. We stayed in the primitive camping. First come first served. There is a pool, shooting range biking and hiking trails, a fishing pond, restaurant, tower to climb, horse rides. However, there is no access to the river from the park due to the train tracks. There is not much wood to gather at the camp sites so make sure to snag some while out on the trails.
Probably the best damn camping park in the state! They only have 4 tent sites but the whole beauty of it! Peaceful and quite for the most part. The trails throughout the park are in good shape and fun to take. Staff are helpful and always friendly. I have been going them for years.
Very cool place. One of the less talked about places to go, which makes it better, less crowded and just as nice.
One of my favorite parks in Omaha area!
Stayed in a cabin with my husband and dogs. It was great and clean. Lots of activities for the whole family. My best friend was married there and it was amazing.
Nice park with the new small splash pad for younger children. If you have smaller kids out of recommend taking them there to their splash pad.
Our favorite place to go!
Had an awesome time. The park is nice and pleasant for the young and old. The horseback riding and the nature trail/waterfall my family really enjoyed. The staff are friendly and very kind. I will be back again very
Stellar! Beautiful! Peaceful!
It is really a splendid place for a vision quest.
Platte River State Park is always one of my favorite spots to visit. It's quiet and calming and generally a wonderful place to find balance. Rental options are diverse with private cabins, cabins that have shared baths and even teepees! I saw some new construction this trip and it looks like they maybe putting in some RV slots.
A beautiful place to explore :)
love the cabin, view, grandsons had a blast at the splash pad
Very nice park. Nice lake and many trails to hike or bike.
Maybe some ppls idea of camping but not mine..i found it disturbing, all the little mini neighborhoods seemed the perfect place to do some really bad things you wouldn't want the ppl in your "real life" neighborhood to know about..just saying
My family stayed in a teepee. The teepee is on a deck floor with carpet. It had rained the night before, you will want to put down a tarp under the air mattresses. They lit a citronella candle for us ahead of time to remove the bugs, also packed battery powered fans for bug/heat. You have to carry all your stuff from the parking lot (100 yds). It is a beautiful area in the trees. There are so many fun activities- paddle boats, kayak, spray park, crafts, crawdad creek, short hike to the falls, archery. It was so much fun, we will return in the non-rainy season, or get a cabin next time.
Beautiful forested paths
It's a nice park with some fun things to do. Horseback riding, archery, shooting range, pool, camping and some hiking trails. Not sure of cost or amenities but the cabins look nice from the outside.
This place is very nice. The problem was "Morgan", a security guard. I had family here from Colorado and Illinois. We had a very nice stay planned. I just arrived and was unloading firewood. I backed my truck onto the weeds, sorry, "grass," and he yelled at me if front of my wife. I didnt know I couldn't do that as the literature we picked up with our cabin key said nothing about that and there were no signs. After I unloaded our things I went and found him to talk about what I did wrong. Mind you I was a police officer for 15 years and I dont break the law or the rules. I found him and told him " I want to have a conversation with you." He said "We can have it right here." We both got of out vehicles and he got in my face. He's a big man much bigger than me. He tried to intimidate me and we had some nasty words. He bragged to me about how many complainant he had against him. I told him all he had to do was explain to me what I did wrong but I got the impression he wanted to fight. I'm almost 50 years old. I don't do that. He told me to talk to his supervisor if I had a complaint. I went to the main office to do just that. His supervisor wasn't there at the time so i went outside. Low and behold I saw him and heard him up the road and he was talking to his supervisor laughing about me being in the office to speak with boss. Well, his boss came to the office and I asked to speak in private and we did. He fed me the song and dance about speaking to "Morgan" about being kind to people. He didn't know i heard him talking to "Morgan" and when we finished talking I told him I heard the conversation he was having with "Morgan". I asked him for HIS supervisor's name which he gave me. The point being "Morgan" didnt have to be that way and treat me, and apparently other folks, like criminals. I would stay away from this place if he still works at Platte River.
Love the park cabins; they were very comfortable and and spacious. If you are planning on BBQ, bring your meats with you!!! Yes they have a Walmart near by but in my opinion their meat sucks! Park well maintained. Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Plus pets are welcome big plus
Love the trails!! There is so much to do here my girls and I are doing some horseback riding later should be a blast. We always have a good time here, great family spot!
Beautiful park. Very nice cabins at reasonable rates. Lots of outdoor activities. Scenic, expansive yet cozy. Excellent facilities all around.
The Fishing was great. This park is Super clean!
Just loved it such q great place for family. The girls working the shack stand were amazing!! Just loved this place.
Fun place with lots of activities
The cabin We rented for the weekend was amazing!!!
Awesome place to visit
Very nice park. Nice, hike. Lake with paddle boat rentals.
Wonderful place to visit and fish
Beautiful state park. Great place for a hike, picnic, camp over night, and more!
Very clean and nice
Stayed in their new Glamping Cabin. Beautiful decor, they are lacking a table and chairs inside in case of bad weather. No where to put clothing you brought for the camping experience. Beautifully done, QUIET cabin.
Awsum view, light rain, green tree .Everythg is jst so perfect.Must go
There is no place to get in the river here.. As well as nothing to do here that you dont have to pay for on TOP of the cabin fees AND PARK PASS. that's lame. The park is gorgeous though and the cabins are alright
Beautiful. Must see the waterfall. It's about a 5 to 10 minute hike and well worth it. Follow the creek all the way to the Platte River if you are feeling adventurous. Canoe and paddleboat rentals, tennis courts and playground. New splash park too.
Beautiful place! There is a small waterfall on the trails and nice fishing in the lake.
Bad traffic, no signs to singletrack. Great course, tho.
Great mountain biking trails
Awesome place for family fun! Great place just to go for the day to picnic or hike but also a great place to go camp. You can see all types of wildlife and plant life. It's a great place to take pictures. The also have restaurants, swimming pool and they rent cabins and many other activities.
Great food and service!
We stayed in one of the cabins it had two rooms with bunk beds in both s and one room with a double bed. It had a table with 4 chairs and a sofa and refrigerator in common area. It was clean and the air conditioning worked great. The park had a shooting range. Archery range skeet range. Shot pellet guns 48 shots 5.00 dollars. The lawns were kept up twice a week. It has a 70 foot viewing tower and lots of places to hike. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Lots of fun activities to do! It was great to go up the observation tower and see so much. Just remember extra activities do cost.
Very expensive. No services, no wildlife too many construction trucks to enjoy nature.
The cabin rentals are incredibly cheap, the three room cabin is amazing for groups. There's got water in the bathrooms, the fireplace and picnic areas for each cabin are kind of private from eachother. All the paths in the woods are just beautiful and breathtaking, a lot more than just the waterfall to see. The extra activities you can do are more than affordable. If your trying to decide between this state park and another, 100% go here!
I would love to be able to give this park or any park in Nebraska a 5 star rating but until things change that isn't going to happen. Allowing smoking in a beautiful natural environment just destroys the beauty. I am disgusted at the park staff's response to the fact that very rude individuals were smoking and driving RC cars through the waterfall ruining the experience for everyone else.
This place is just amazing.. you have to stop and check out the tower as well.. but the falls are by far my favorite part.. summer and winter.. in the winter it all freezes over and you can crawl back behind it..
Nice park if you don't want to fish
Much quieter than nearby Mahoney and much better hiking trails.
