6$ to get in lots to explore! We used it for a photoshoot with a mermaid since they have a waterfall. The waterfall was a little busy but all really nice people! They have easy medium and hard trails and the front desk was very helpful to show us where the waterfall was. You can also rent cute cabins! Also horse rentals!

Great hiking. We've paddle boated, fished, and looked for crawdaddys and Crawdaddy Creek. This is one of the coolest places to take your kids without travelling too far from the city! Incredibly clean and the staff has always been very pleasant and knowledgeable.

Pretty, fun, but don't come here in the summer to camp in a tepee. Sweltering doesn't even begin to describe it. That said, definitely come visit. It's beautiful, and if I had realized the tepee situation ahead of time, I would have had a much more enjoyable stay

This park currently only has cabins. They are very rustic for the standard cabins. Although, they do offer "glamping" cabins that are pretty nice. The park offers paddle boats, horse riding, trails, small water park, and an observation tower. A great place for families.

The park is great for family hiking. Hiking to the waterfall is only 1/2 mile easy home. The tower is right next to a parking lot. There is a spray park for minimal fee, but it's really only for kids under 6. Even on a beautiful sunny weekend day in summer the park has barely any crowd. It's a great way to spend 1/2 day with family.

I love this state park, it’s almost half an hour away from Omaha. Nice, quiet, blissed park with lots of walking roads, entertainment and camping areas. I don’t really know about cabins and prices but those cabins have amazing view. My favorite place in this park is Lincoln Journal Tower. They also have horse riding and swimming pool too. If you haven’t been there then you should.

Platte River State Park where do I start? great with great places as for for swimming a splash pad for younger kids and multiple hiking trails you can hike at your speed along with horseback riding and shooting range this would be a great place to take more than one kid as it doesn't really pricey.Platte River State Park is also for those who are adventurous and people who also would like to have a nice day nice quiet day too 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Beautiful, less crowded than some of the other nearby parks. Great hiking trails. Don't forget to stop at Owen's Landing for ice cream and paddle boating. If you want a cabin on the weekend during peak season, you'll probably have to book a year in advanced.

I stayed with a group in the Strawberry cabins, and they were great! Very clean, more than enough space for all of us. Extremely impressed with how well-kept the showers and bathrooms were. The hiking trails right behind the cabins were beautiful! The sheltered area with picnic tables, in the same pavilion as the bathrooms, was perfect for playing card games while it rained. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant was good, especially for less than $6 a person. Lots of things to do that we didn't have a chance to, will definitely be back!

Great place to walk some trails and get some fresh air. Very pretty sights with the watch tower, ponds, and little water falls. Some friendly advice, just don't go when the trails could be icy or muddy!

State park facility. Enterance membership required. Wild life allergy USA. Fun places inside and out. Was with large group of kids. Had lunch at picknic area and hiked on one of the many trails. Feed the Geese and fish. Lots of room for running and exploring. Need to keep an eye out. Easy to loose one if you're not watchful.

TONS to do here! The nature trail, the observation tower, the falls, splash pad are all so much fun! There’s paddle boat rentals, craft den, horseback riding and more! The cabins look fun and I might be excited for camping there on the new campsites (WITH water hookups and electric) but they are quite close and no shade since no trees currently. I think it’ll be great for camping in 10 years though.

I am so glad that I discovered Platte River State Park - it has great amenities and alot of stuff to do. I was also able to take my daughter and neice horseback riding. This was something that I was not able to do at Mahoney State Park because the spots always filled up so darn quick.

Cool water park for kids but buggy and steamy hot cabins during the summer months. Also, be prepared to pay the park entry tax when you enter with rates dependent on your state residency and vehicle registration situation.

The splash pad addition is great fun for our kids. The price is worth the trip south of Omaha to visit for the afternoon.

Nice hike, cool for biking as well and horse riding. The lookout tower is an interesting experience with the looking through metal floor and the height provides a nice perspective on the area's landscape.

Looks super neat and is a really good experience. Only issue is I've been there twice and both times it was hard to find where to start hiking. I went in the fall both times so I'll definitely be excited to go again in the summer time.

Not impressed with this state park at all. Yes they have things to do, but it all closes before 6. This Is very disappointing when you can't check into your cabin until 4. And why is it called Platte river state park when you can't get into the river? Even the staff told us several times that we had to go to Louisville state park. Which is where we will go from now on, or two rivers.

We did the hike to the falls and the kids played there for more than an hour. It's fun, and you don't have to pay extra for it(you have to buy a park sticker if you don't already have one). After that we ate in a nice picnic area near that, with a playground that the kids loved. It is definitely a good place for kids!

I saw that this place has a waterfall in the pictures. Lol it is very small then I expected. Nature trail me an my friends enjoyed the walk. Amazing 360 view from the watch out tower.

It's a very nice park but the park maintenance attendant yelled at me for using my drone to capture this wonderful image. I mainly like the park for the hiking and the observation tower. Dogs love the west side of the park where they have created these cascading waterfall pond areas. Blue Heron cabin was clean and all cooking utensils and paper products were provided. They even had extra blankets and towels, though I didn't use them. The doors will automatically lock behind you if you dont turn lock on knob; I didnt expect that and locked myself out! I called the phone number provided and they had someone out in a short time. I had a great time walking the trails; at least one was undergoing maintenance but it didn't hinder activity. I wish they had a more extensive gift shop as I like to commemorate special occasion trips but that'd be my only qualm, and a small one at that!

Little something for everyone. We stayed in the primitive camping. First come first served. There is a pool, shooting range biking and hiking trails, a fishing pond, restaurant, tower to climb, horse rides. However, there is no access to the river from the park due to the train tracks. There is not much wood to gather at the camp sites so make sure to snag some while out on the trails.

Probably the best damn camping park in the state! They only have 4 tent sites but the whole beauty of it! Peaceful and quite for the most part. The trails throughout the park are in good shape and fun to take. Staff are helpful and always friendly. I have been going them for years.

Platte River State Park is always one of my favorite spots to visit. It's quiet and calming and generally a wonderful place to find balance. Rental options are diverse with private cabins, cabins that have shared baths and even teepees! I saw some new construction this trip and it looks like they maybe putting in some RV slots.

My family stayed in a teepee. The teepee is on a deck floor with carpet. It had rained the night before, you will want to put down a tarp under the air mattresses. They lit a citronella candle for us ahead of time to remove the bugs, also packed battery powered fans for bug/heat. You have to carry all your stuff from the parking lot (100 yds). It is a beautiful area in the trees. There are so many fun activities- paddle boats, kayak, spray park, crafts, crawdad creek, short hike to the falls, archery. It was so much fun, we will return in the non-rainy season, or get a cabin next time.

This place is very nice. The problem was "Morgan", a security guard. I had family here from Colorado and Illinois. We had a very nice stay planned. I just arrived and was unloading firewood. I backed my truck onto the weeds, sorry, "grass," and he yelled at me if front of my wife. I didnt know I couldn't do that as the literature we picked up with our cabin key said nothing about that and there were no signs. After I unloaded our things I went and found him to talk about what I did wrong. Mind you I was a police officer for 15 years and I dont break the law or the rules. I found him and told him " I want to have a conversation with you." He said "We can have it right here." We both got of out vehicles and he got in my face. He's a big man much bigger than me. He tried to intimidate me and we had some nasty words. He bragged to me about how many complainant he had against him. I told him all he had to do was explain to me what I did wrong but I got the impression he wanted to fight. I'm almost 50 years old. I don't do that. He told me to talk to his supervisor if I had a complaint. I went to the main office to do just that. His supervisor wasn't there at the time so i went outside. Low and behold I saw him and heard him up the road and he was talking to his supervisor laughing about me being in the office to speak with boss. Well, his boss came to the office and I asked to speak in private and we did. He fed me the song and dance about speaking to "Morgan" about being kind to people. He didn't know i heard him talking to "Morgan" and when we finished talking I told him I heard the conversation he was having with "Morgan". I asked him for HIS supervisor's name which he gave me. The point being "Morgan" didnt have to be that way and treat me, and apparently other folks, like criminals. I would stay away from this place if he still works at Platte River.

Love the park cabins; they were very comfortable and and spacious. If you are planning on BBQ, bring your meats with you!!! Yes they have a Walmart near by but in my opinion their meat sucks! Park well maintained. Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Plus pets are welcome big plus

There is no place to get in the river here.. As well as nothing to do here that you dont have to pay for on TOP of the cabin fees AND PARK PASS. that's lame. The park is gorgeous though and the cabins are alright

Beautiful. Must see the waterfall. It's about a 5 to 10 minute hike and well worth it. Follow the creek all the way to the Platte River if you are feeling adventurous. Canoe and paddleboat rentals, tennis courts and playground. New splash park too.

We stayed in one of the cabins it had two rooms with bunk beds in both s and one room with a double bed. It had a table with 4 chairs and a sofa and refrigerator in common area. It was clean and the air conditioning worked great. The park had a shooting range. Archery range skeet range. Shot pellet guns 48 shots 5.00 dollars. The lawns were kept up twice a week. It has a 70 foot viewing tower and lots of places to hike. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

The cabin rentals are incredibly cheap, the three room cabin is amazing for groups. There's got water in the bathrooms, the fireplace and picnic areas for each cabin are kind of private from eachother. All the paths in the woods are just beautiful and breathtaking, a lot more than just the waterfall to see. The extra activities you can do are more than affordable. If your trying to decide between this state park and another, 100% go here!

I would love to be able to give this park or any park in Nebraska a 5 star rating but until things change that isn't going to happen. Allowing smoking in a beautiful natural environment just destroys the beauty. I am disgusted at the park staff's response to the fact that very rude individuals were smoking and driving RC cars through the waterfall ruining the experience for everyone else.
