Beautiful, clean, and breath taking views.
Best place to find your serenity!
Simply stunning. Amazing.
Beautiful, serene with wonderful smells and sounds of outdoors
Saw about 150 elk onhillside and on the other side of hill about 75 bison and some pronghorns. A native american couple was letting all who wanted to use their binoculars really great people. This was at the National Bison range on the Flathead Indian reservation.
This is a beautiful place and well worth the trip to see
Home sweet home.
It's a bit of a drive to get to Camp Misery trail head but well worth the drive. Hiked from the trailhead to twin lakes and it was gorgeous. Beautiful views of the Flathead Valley and twin lakes were so clear and blue. Would recommend.
Such a beautiful region. Think there is no God, go here and argue with yourself trying to make a judgment
Beautiful views and not very busy
My local forest and I absolutely love FNF. Other than the idiots that leave their trash behind it's a beautiful place.
The flathead is a beautiful area. Hike, float the river.
An amazing and spectacular area in the midst of the natural beauty that is northwestern Montana.
So much fun snowmobile rides rock
Free camping if you don't mind boon docking and a beautiful reservoir!! Loved it. Once the pavement ends its rough going for a 32' motor home but we enjoyed our stay. Make sure you pack some bug spray as the mosquitoes are thick and persistent!
What can I say, most beautiful place on Earth, with great Elk Hunting...
Beauty Clark
Wonderful. Quiet except nature sounds. Great hard pack gravel biking area.
I live on the river here.great place to relax
One of the best places to be on the water
beautiful drive, amazing views, numerous scenic overlooks, a lovely drive
Spent an afternoon hiking and managed to get a day where the smoke from nearby wildfires was not too bad. There were very few wildlife, possibly because of the fires but I did see a nice variety of birds.
Picked some huckleberrys and had fun even know I got lots if bug bits and scratches. If you don't like the outdoors then don't come.
While spending a family vacation in Montana, we found a lovely hiking trail in the Flathead National Forest, and spent a few hours one afternoon checking it out. It was truly a lovely hike. The trail we used was well cut, and lead up to a lovely overlook of the parking area, and nearby lake. The mountains around us were stunning, and we saw squirrels, deer, and birds of all kinds, as well as some stunning flora. The hiking areas in Flathead are beautiful, and if you enjoy spending time outdoors, you will absolutely love Flathead.
It is surprising that this wonderful wilderness, full of gleaming and clear lakes is so close to Glacier National Park, and yet is travelled by so few. I was able to boondock with my van for free in a number of places up along the dirt roads through the mountains with fabulous views across the vast valley during peak wildflower season. Pretty nice. Minus one star because I was only able to find one hiking trail.
My home, my soul. Where my love is always!!!!!
I spend half my fall in the forest and its amazing
Beautiful this time of year.
A beautiful place to live
I love the National forest. Great untouched wilderness. Great get away .
Beautiful, dense forests amid 4000-7000+ foot elevation mountains, as well as, many lovely rivers, lakes and reservoirs make for so many choices of fun! Hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and boating are just some of the opportunities. I love Flathead National Forest!
Excellent
Some of the most beautiful forest. You can explore for days and not come close to seeing it all!
Breathtaking views endless rivers and plenty of wildlife. Plus bonus of calming and swimming spots in Montana's true beauty
Absolutely beautiful, and lots to do!
It was a perfect day of hiking, the of to Lindy's Steak house for dinner and a night cap. It was with relatives and hunting group, you couldn't get a better day. Zoom in and check out the snow, pic. 1.
Beautiful, many trees all over
God's country!
Absolutely beautiful!!! Facilities have flushing toilets and there are showers available in Apgar campground and in the small town
Nothing more stunning than Swan Lake on a summer day! Boaters beware...lots of rock bars and propellers will be gone if you do not know the lake! You will be boating round and at a depth of 100ft and go to 10 ft in seconds! Make sure you get information before you go boating in this lake!
Wonderful day! Breathtaking beauty!
The forest is terrible, there is trash and bears everywhere. There is no avoiding the bears.
Stay away. Its an amazing place. Stay away. Lots of fun and I want to move there.
Perfect getaway. Clean and peaceful. Lake was crystal clear and fun to swim in.. highly recommend visiting. A place the whole family enjoyed
This is an amazing spot to get out and hike! The scenery is gorgeous! We chose a nice spot to sit and watch the sunset.
Devil's Creek is a really good small camp ground. The host is awesomely nice and it proved to be one of the best new discoveries when it comes to campgrounds.
Nice trails, great views. Too bad most of it was closed due to a bit of snow. - Oct 4, 2019
There's just a lot of beautiful to see here. As a visitor, Montana just continues to deliver incredible vistas and recreation options
Beautiful. Go in groups
Fresh air always a treat
Such a beautiful drive. Deer are rampant and lively.
We always enjoy our hikes up there.
What an awesome hiking trail we took up to Picnic lake. The views were amazing.
Nice experience and beautiful place
IT IS THE CREATIVE AND EXPRESSIVE BEAUTY OF THE LORD JESUS
Friendly locals. Well marked network of trails. Some fun swooopy MTB tracks.
Montana is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STATE in the Union !!!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Beautiful place to go.
God knew what he was doing making this place so special.
It was so beautiful. I feel in love with the place. Wish I could live there.
Stunning views everywhere
This is a beautiful area and waystation for Monarch butterflies. Nice creeks and good hike trails in this park.
Incredible views and back roads everywhere
Such a beautiful forest, Flathead Lake is also wonderful, the water is so clear! We stayed in a cabin (18383 beardance Lane Bigfork Montana 59911), which I highly recommend. It allowed us to be right in the middle of the wonders of nature all week.
Beautiful overlooks, wandering streams, cold water and solitude.
Amazing. I hiked to Avalanche Lake which took somewhere between 1-2 hours at a brisk walk. The trail was surprisingly populated. It isn't a short trail but it was busy. The trail was well maintained but isn't all level or remotely even. Bring some proper footwear. Also remember your water. Avalanche Lake was so beautiful. Surrounded by mountains and the water is crystal clear. I would recommend bringing a snack or lunch or even some whiskey. Hike in to the lake and take a few minutes to sit on a log and just look at it. Definitely worth your time if you are capable of hiking. Stay on the trails.
Beautiful lake, river and forest can be seen from the view of Amtrak.
Good authentic Mexican food.
Beautiful rivers and plush treed forest
Love this forest
whitefish trail is great
Loved it. Good trails
There is so many different parts of the national forest to go visit! Incredibley beautiful scenery everywhere and lots of wildlife to see. Bear spray is a must if venturing into the woods. Please leave it better then you find it as well!
Loved it, awesome views.
Beautiful place to go! Great place to hike or travel through for beautiful scenery!
Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. We camped here over night on our way up to glacier national park. Be bear aware but otherwise just sit back and enjoy the views! Seeley lake is close by if you need any supplies on your travels. Also there are tons of lakes so bring a boat, kayak or a paddleboard!
Way too much fun this morning going to tally lake but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't have any 4x4
Beautiful night drive.
I loved the campsite in Flathead. Large sites, beautiful views and good basic facilities. Be aware that 90% of the roads are gravel but well maintained. I recommend these sites with the little bit of extra travel time to Glacier. The Glacier sites tend to be pretty small and extra cozy with your neighbors.
Gorgeous hike! I loved it.
Swan River walking trail is beautiful!
I spent 16 days boondocking in the forest while visiting Glacier National Park. It's a great place except for the gun shooters who shoot their guns without safety in mind.
Bigfork Nature Trail - Beautiful place for hiking and exploring! Easy, wide improved trail that's perfect for families with "Littles" and strollers. Great views with picnic tables and benches along the trail.
Beautiful forest and great roads.
Jewel Basin is a short drive from town. There are hikes for all abilities and distances. Beautiful scenery. Mountain goats are almost always assured at the top.
Not impressed with the nudity at boat launches! Should restrict boat launches from sunbathers and swimming and kids with toys. Give them beaches to hangout at! Not boat launches! It is dangerous! Fishing access should be for people who want to fish. Everyone I go to I have to wait for people to move kids and toys!
It's one of my favorite places! So beautiful and pristine!
Seen one black bear, great waking.
Quiet on the river
Such a beautiful place!
Beautiful park and lake.
What can I say? It's the National Forest! In my work, I've worked with the members of the National Forest Service and they are top-notch people here in the Northwest part of Montana! The group of Montana National Forest Service employees that I've worked with here are far better than anyone I've seen anywhere else!
What can I say the most beautiful place on Earth
A day of tubing on a fabulous lake/reservoir. Clean clear water.
Beautiful place and fun trail to hike
Great water for swimming and water sports, like wake boarding, surfing, and water skiing!
Beautiful! God's Country ❤❤
Love Montana ❤
It is so beautiful
Beautiful area and tons of poaaibilities.
One of the most beautiful places on earth. Folks who have ever plan to travel west, need to see Montana!
, lakes and reservoirs make for so many choices of fun! Hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and boating are just some of the opportunities. I love Flathead National Forest!
Too beautiful to describe with words.
Beautiful scenery, wildlife and huckleberry picking!
A beautiful place for recreation. Adventures, challenges, Wild animal interactions, magnificent landscape. The smells, colors and overall feeling is pleasantly intoxicating...
A great place to find some solitude if you know where to look. And you aren't afraid of a little adventure.
It's beautiful and lots of things to do and see
Beautiful and peaceful place
Hard to find a more amazing place than this. Make your plans to visit now!
It's an awesome wilderness!
Amazing wet but amazing
Spectacular scenery and many hiking and biking trails. However, trails could be marked more clearly and benches or picnic tables at the Flower Point and other spots.
Great place to ride.
Beautiful and inspiring placed to travel can't wait to go again!
Breathtaking views, great trails!
It is always wonderful to go and spend time with my therapist, so peaceful.
Great day hiking.
I love Flathead national Forest it's got great lakes and rivers and campgrounds it's just my favorite
Great time & challenging hike to upper Holland lake.
Anywhere near Hungry Horse Reservoir is perfect
Traveling through on business. Never disappoints!
Management of the Swan corridor and access to the Missions especially is detrimental to the public consistently. Forest Service personnel out of the Swan River office in Bigfork should be terminated from employment and blackballed from any responsibilities for government property management in the future. Serving people is not in their understanding or consideration!
Wild Bill ORV from Blacktail MTN to Kila, MT is a blast in a Jeep JK
The Flathead National Forest is really a vague and vast amount of land owned by the federal government and managed by federal employees. There are still great chunks of land that are managed well that are beautiful and provide ample opportunities for outdoor activities to be enjoyed by all. unfortunately in more recent days this has led to a number of road closures and blockages that prevent the public use of lands that were originally meant for the people. I'm not sure how the government of the United States became something other than "of the People by the people and for the people" but it's clear that many situations such as these indicate that the government is something other than "for the people".
It's real nice there's a few people but the deeper you get the more isolated it is some really neat country with lakes and streams everywhere
One of the last best places
Love the scenery and wise open spaces!
The Flathead National Forest is spectacular. The snowmobiling in the winter and camping in the summer can't be beat.
Quiet. Untouched wilderness.
Beautiful park with hiking, camping and fishing adventures. We hired a local sea plane and pilot to take us on a high flying tour. We took off from Whitefish Lake and flew above the local hills before heading over Flathead Forest. The views of the high mountains of Glacier National Park were spectacular. Very pricey adventure but well worth it!
So this "forest" was built a few years ago, and I've gotta say it's not bad! They did an excellent job of installing streams, rolling hills and animals. Great job, very nice!
Very pretty, lots of trees and views.
Love to be in nature. Thank you President Trump
Beautiful place
Great access and opportunity for outdoor recreation. The docks are well maintained and there's ample parking for cars and anything with trailers. We took about 3 hrs and paddled the lake, fished and even visited the island. Cant say enough about The Swan. Loved every moment
Such a beautiful country we live in! I wouldn't pass this place up!
Friend brought us here for hiking. Views are awesome, driving up is a thing, be a good place to pitch a tent if you want amazing views.
This national forest has so many neat scenic hiking trails and camping for every person.
When I first arrived at this place I wasn’t expecting much, but it really surprised me. I expected an experience I would be happy with, but I was blown away. I highly recommend this place to my friends, family, and anyone else that wants to go here.
Such a beautiful place!
Views are spectacular
Whether it's hiking, visiting or scouting out berries our visit to Flathead National forest is always rewarding.
Picked huckleberrys was a fantastic day
Beautiful trails and great off roading views
So beautiful!
Californians run the show in this forest. Don't expect to be alone. If you see a 7 on a MT liscense plate it's a California transplant who thinks the forest is theirs.
A breathe of fresh air under the beautiful Big Sky.
Beautiful place to go hiking
Nice place to visit. Lots of solitude.
What a beautiful place. I look forward to coming back again. Lots to see and not enough time. So if you can extend your visit an extra day or two it is well worth it.
All of these campsites n fishing sites or hiking areas are just so outrageously BEAUTIFUL its the only reason i can't pull my self from moving away dont get me wrong trips an vacations are funn but when you get back here just makes you feel so much at piece Oh.... Good luck on fishing these areas its a challenge
One of the best places in the world to hang out. Being out in the woods camping, fishing, boating, etc.
An amazingly, color brilliant and beautifully serene and still, peaceful wonder. Great for personal therapy, wish I could have stayed longer.
Impressive views, nice place for outdoor leisure
Breathtaking scenery and my kind of people too!
I absolutely love this place
Beautiful place! So peaceful and full of good energy!
