My Family & I (Wife, our adult daughter & her two children: ages 11 & 6) had an ABSOLUTE blast at Big Surf! The longs moved very quickly. Our 6 yr. old grandson went on every slide 2-3 times. My Wife, daughter & granddaughter really enjoyed the lazy river & the wave pool. Staff was very friendly & courteous. We had a wonderful time! We will go back!

Overall, the park was great. The kids had fun. Cabanas are nice but don't offer any real privacy. Food was overpriced and mediocre, but honestly, the kids loved it. I just wish there was a few adult options. Park and water was clean. Staff were super courteous and helpful. Going back in a few weeks. Totally a hit.

We ended up getting discount tickets period and decided to take a trip out there on a Saturday. It was a great experience. My 3 kids really enjoyed it. Can easily spend hours on in there the rides were all great. The only thing that I was not happy with was the price of the food ended up paying over $60 to feed two adults and for kids and I try to get the cheapest thing as possible. Would definitely consider going again.

Was much smaller than it looked from the highway. It pretty much was all that you could see from the highway. Overpriced- I bought 2 bottles of water and they only wanted to give me one cup of ice. Who ever heard of customer service to bring back clients? Crazy that they wanted to charge me $2.74 for a glass of ice water. The rapid ride was cool though, that was about it. I hurt my leg on one of the rides because the pool you got sent into was only 4 feet deep. It should have been a little deeper.

Very well mannered and professional staff, even though theyre high school students. The park has a cozy feel to it and the cabinas are extremely comfortable, even through hottest of summer. The slides are thrilling and unique and they played very pleasant music all day. Would recommend 10 out of 10 times.

A small but well run water park, Big Surf continues to have one of the best wave pools within two hours of central Missouri. Though it's rides tend to be a little more relaxed / smaller than the larger parks, the lines tend to be shorter and go quickly, the food options are good for a small park, and the food prices tend to be a bit more reasonable. There are five main slides, with one being fairly intense / a sharp drop at the beginning, ranging to more mild slides (not including a lazy river). Three of the main slides don't need a tube and three do. The Space Bowl is probably the best non-inner tube ride, though it's easy to get stuck at the beginning due to the initial lack of incline. The last drop / space bowl portion is the fun part. The cliff-like tube ride (I forgot the formal name, some call it "the banana") is definitely the most intense ride in the park, with a steep drop of about three stories. Worth making a day out of with friends, family, or a youth group. Been twice. Good experience both times now.

When we come down to the lake, we always take the kids here for a day. Overall good experience for the family. There is plenty of stuff for younger kids and the wave pool takes up a lot of our time. Bbq nachos are yummy. So on the whole, good, here is why I gave it 4 not 5 stars. It's not a huge park, This can not compare with Holiday world, for example. Also, it's not new. They do a decent job of maintaining, but time and mother nature can't be stopped. Just my critique, being a little picky. On the whole, nice smaller park. I would recommend if you are in the area.

Disappointed, they are overly controlling about things like the lazy river- have to be on a tube. And tubes are inadequately marked youth/adult given how intense the tube slides are, if you are big/tall or at all heavy the tube thing becomes detrimental. (The rapid slide felt unsafe compared to other parks- very short and intense- was impossible to stay seated. Felt like the website was totally misleading about what was available to do. You could free play in wave pool and kid area but other wise felt like it was overmanaged or felt like it wasn't well managed safety wise (tubes all the same color). Definitely catering to one clientele. No food or drink allowed brought into the park. Tubes for anything other than required rides had to be rented. Will hold out for Schlitterbahn next time. Fun for teens and folks expecting to pay for everything. This was one stop one a week long trip for us, not a destination in and of itself and Lake of the Ozarks and Osage Beach have MUCH better to offer.

WAIT TILL AFTER 3PM to go. It's still pricey for the things to do. Granted the kids like anything. The lines are Farley long wait. And the works yell at you when u walk on the grass by the bowl slide. The wave pool is nice.

This is definitely for younger kids. Our 15 and 13 year old grandkids were bored after an hour. Not much to do and small. $125.00 for four of us. Not worth it! Also, the web cites said clearly Lake of the Ozarks and the tickets I purchased on line were denied at the gate. Luckily because of my credit card I got my money back.

A mainstay of the area for quite some time, used to visit when I was younger, now able to bring my kids there. Price for the size/attractions seems a bit high, the splash pad area needs some TLC, and some of the lifeguards seem annoyed with guests, so this one gets a solid 3 stars.

Fantastic facilities and people. The price was high but it's cheaper than oceans of fun or the six flags water park. Smaller than those but also much easier to navigate and parking is free. Great value overall. We had a blast with our two kids, 6 and 4. They could do basically everything in the park. Great kids area too. We went on a Wednesday and the waits were very short. Parking is super close. We loved it!

This place is amazing. Water is clean, there are multiple pools like the wave pool the activity pool and there are multiple slides. Pools are of all different depths. Wave pool does get a bit crazy the closer you are to where the waves begin. Tickets are usually $60. And to rent floating tubes it is $8 for a single and $12 for a double. You get them all day. There are bathrooms all across the park. The lazy river is 2 laps then you get out. Go to the end of the line or go to a different pool. No food is served here

Spent this past Sunday the 25th there with our grandchildren and a great day was had by all. It's not a huge water park but it's well laid out and for the most part the young people that work there are pleasant and professional. Yes, some of them were overly strict in the areas they were watching, but keep in mind that they're kids and kids probably making $10 an hour. I had a couple of comments from the lifeguards about lifting up my feet when I as going down the Lazy River, but i just smiled and said okay, okay. We were told by our friends that it can be crazy there on super hot days but if you get there a little before they open at 10 am to get a good parking space and stake out some good seating, you're golden. ~There is a big picnic area where you can go out and eat lunch with your family if you don't want to spend big bucks eating inside. There is a basketball court out there and the families out there were having lots of fun. ~There are private cabanas for rent for the day, about $55 but if you have a big bunch of folks who need and want shade, this might be a good way to go. ~Otherwise, there are PLENTY of umbrellas, chairs and tables, lounge chairs etc to use IF you get there early enough. ~The bathrooms were fairly clean and the food we did purchase there was okay. ~No food is allowed inside although we did bring water bottles and snacks for the toddler but weren't obvious about taking them out. ~There are free life jackets about for babies and toddlers scattered about in different areas. ~If you cannot find a place to put your stuff down, look down around the not so populated areas, over the bridge at the lazy river etc. There are many, many places to catch some shade if you need it. ~Bring sunscreen, a hat and even a sun shirt if you need it. The rules say no street shorts allowed but I wore my black shorts with a bathing suit top and had no problem....as were many people and little children.

This water park was very expensive for what they have. Also, no discounts or promos offered. We paid $32.00 per person and all we did was the Lazy river. Also the tubes they provided were too small for those who have a few extra pounds. They do have larger ones available for rent but the cost is $8.00.

The park is great. We got seasons passes for the family. The snack bar is horrid though. Pretzels and cheese but the pretzel cold and hard. Whole pizza that says hot and fresh on the box but it was barely warm and old.

Best place in mid Missouri to go have fun in the summer and in the water!!! My whole family goes every year and it's always great fun. Kind of expensive for a family of 4 if you get tickets and buy food... definitely don't forget your own towels and sunscreen and get your shower in before they close! Plan on going again next year.

I am so disappointed in big surf. We have gone there quite a bit and usually we thoroughly enjoy it. This summer they have hired kids that should not be working there. They are rude and all about visiting with eachother and favoring people they know.

First, basing this review on a weekday visit, I imagine the weekend experience is a bit different. It would have been a 5 star review other than the entry price. Not the cheapest place for a smaller than average water park. The positive to it not being the largest though is we felt comfortable with our 7 year old going around on his own and with his big brother and just coming back and checking in after a few slides. The slides they have are fun lines weren't bad for us (Tuesday). The wave pool is one of the more active wave pools I've been in (breaking waves). The smaller kid section didn't look too large. A true positive is they don't gouge you on the food and incidentals. A hot dog, chips and a drink were $6.75. We had to buy a suit and it was only $11.

I have been here 20+ times since it is the closest water park to us. We always have a season pass. I just wish you got more with it. Drinks are way high for this area they have two fountains by the entrance and bathrooms and that is it. Tubes for the wavepool also cost extra which is kinda sad. The food is good and staff is great. Most of the pools are concrete and are repainted every year but I see a chunk of it floating around everytime I go and it can hurt your feet if you aren't looking for it. But the water is always crystal clear. So ya it's a smaller hometown water park that is great for family's just be prepared for these hicups.

I showed up with my big family of relatives at 11:00 and we were in the pool for 10 minutes in the wave pool. We were about to go on the slides when they called to close the park for the day, when they told us they would let us back in the water after a half hour, but they didn't they closed it for the day and told us to come back with our receipt another time. What really made us angry is that some of us are leaving to go back home tomorrow. We fought for money back because it was a rip off.

We had went there yesterday for our sons birthday. It was our very first time being there, and We got the Ultimate package. I can't express enough on how GREAT everyone treated us. All the employees were very nice. Katelyn the supervisor was so supper sweet. She had everything all ready for us when we had got there. They even had wished my son a Happy birthday on the sign we we arrived. It was def worth every penny. And we will for sure going to be coming back. Took the gf and 3 kids, ages 2-12 there in 2012 and REALLY had a good time...heck even I went down the big Splash thingy...and the lazy river was very relaxing, as was just hanging out by the wave pool. It was first weekend in August, seemed busy but to be expected, cant remember if I tried the food line or not. I'm sure they take heed of the reviews and make improvements. Will be back again this year.

Big Surf is fun to go to with friends and family. As long as you don't go by yourself, you're sure to have fun. In my opinion Big Surf isn't really that big. You can go on every slide in practically an hour. That's one of the two problems I have with the park. The other problem is the food. The food could be better in many ways. Just try it, go to the park and see for yourself if you like it or not.

Favorite part was the lazy river! The staff enforced “lazy” by keeping everyone sitting in their tube. This prevented crazy kids/teens from ruining our lazy river experience. Wave pool was great, the depth was shallow enough for our 8 yr old to experience it to the fullest. I knocked one star off due to the limited rides. The rides they do have are fun. We recommend doing this place at least once!

I would think you would be open until at least 8. We would have eaten there and had more time to enjoy in the evening when the sun wasn't blaring directly overhead.

Horable experience- are here in town visiting family from 8 hours away took us 5 hours to get everything around and 2 min after we arrived they closed the park down due to a storm rolling in. They would not give us tickets to come back even after talking with the general manager he would not accomidate. This is unfair as we were hoping to come back tomorrow, our family spends hundreds for season passes and today was bring a friend day. To not allow those that were there today to come back tomorrow and say they would reschedule the bring a friend day for a month from now is not accommodating to the season pass holders or their friends and family they brought today. I would never give this place my business in the future due to their lack of understanding and allowing us to come back tomorrow.

So we go on groupon, purchase the offer listed as Big Surf, of Linn Creek, Mo. 2 adults, and 1 child for roughly $70.00. That's a fair price, because let's face it.... White Water Branson this is not! We arrive at the gates with our son in tow ready to have a great time and spend some additional money in concessions only to find out they don't accept Groupon only the one in Texas does and they're well aware of the mis-stated location on Groupon but have done nothing to address it, and the price is well over $120 for a third-rate water park.

Well worth the cost....Visit their Facebook page for a way to get $5 off per person. Would have been a 5 star....but the food service was horrible. Ordered some snacks, took 25 minutes to order, then almost 30 minutes to get our food....and that was just for three pretzels with cheese.
