Stopped by here on a Sunday in January. While the main road in the park was closed, we were treated to the sight of Bald Eagles! We saw many more in neighboring Grand Pass Conservation Area.

Nice clean campground. We had the entire campground to ourselves and it was a Friday in July. Very congenial camp hostess. Electric only and no dump station. Hostess said there is a free dump station in Marshall near the animal control shelter. Missouri's American Indian cultural center in located on the grounds. Well work a stop.

The park seemed to be well kept minus the several nails and screws I found on the ground by the play ground and the picnic area. There was no trash receptacles by the picnic areas. The tour guides for our field trip were not very friendly, very impatient and rude to children. The children in our classes were not misbehaving yet we’re getting reprimanded for any kind of excitement. I totally understand rules and manners needed for tours and learning purposes but maybe if the young girls leading this had more creative and had fun ways to get their attention on the information and less “barkiness” they would have a better outcome and that would make them less annoyed with the children.

Amazing RV park, trails, hiking area, lake, Indian cultural center. There are a lot of RV parks closer to route 70 and I almost didn't drive the 12 miles north to go to this one but I am so glad we did. Huge RV spots. Secluded, tree canopies on every spot. Quiet. The grounds are manicured like a golf course. And since it's in a state park. RV spots are only $21 with electric. Even cheaper if you want a big RV spot without electric. If you want a beautiful spot for a tent it was $6 bucks. Late-night check-in. Honor system. We were there in peak season of July and only 2 others in a huge RV area. 100% recommend. Kids will love it.

Fun park and cool campground; a great alternative to other state parks that tend to be a bit more crowded. A few different trails to hike, a little lake for fishing, some native history, and an interesting marsh-swamp area with a boardwalk trail. The campground offers some nice spots and a really nice 'lawn' area with mature trees and mowed grass - it's huge and reminds me of a large city park. Bathrooms were clean, host was friendly, and I've seen a variety of wild life the two times I've visited the park. A couple of the campsite spots are close to the marsh/swamp - so they are probably best avoided at wetter points in the year. All in all, it's a fun place to spend a day or two.

Not a lot to do here. There is no access to the lake, you must walk the trail to get there. It is a forest with a couple shelter houses not much attraction here

Scott Fann

Great place for camping, hiking, and fishing. Campground has a nice bathhouse and a good playground for the kids. Great circle drive for the kids to ride bikes.
