Nice place to take a day trip and hike. If you're a history or civil war buff, you'll really enjoy. Family friendly. Military cemetery on premises. Worth visiting.

Shiloh, biblically "a place of rest, is a wonderfully maintained park. Though well visited it is still possible to feel you are alone. It is always peaceful. The Tennessee River forms part of the eastern boundary of the park and offers some beautiful sun and moon rises. Catching a view of an eagle flying high over the river is always inspiring. Shiloh has blessed my life with peace for many, many years.

The riverside is very calm and the water seemed clear, not too murky. Lots of boaters, water skiing, canoes, kayaks. If you like waterways, this one appears on the tamer side. Looked like there was some camping riverside, too. Remember to file a float plan with family and always wear a life vest, even when on calm water.
