My truck broke down just as I got to the park entry. The Rangers and camp host helped me get my 5th wheel to a site and lined me up with a good mechanic. Awesome folks here. The park is clean nice with large sites and beautiful. I'll definitely be back!

This is a nice park for camping! But you can't trust your personal information with some of rhe employees!

Each time we have ever gone out to Sardis the landscape is completely different, depending on the rain, water level. Bring the family for exploration. No shells here, but a great place to find drift wood.

Karen Anderson

The fly's were a nightmare. But overall, beautiful park.

Bugs were a real nuisance but it may just be this time of year. No septic hookups is a minus for the Rv park

Phylis McClain

The showers are the worst. It is at least 85 in there, very musty smelling, dirty, push button controls so if the hot cuts off first you get blasted with cold. If the cold cuts of first you get scalded. The sewer hookup is full and can't be used. Our neighbor's electric hook up doesn't work. We will not be coming here again. Now there no water!

Nice campground, large lake, friendly staff

The garbage can overrun with stinking nasty garbage bugs swarming around. We left early and willing to absorb the cost. July 9th and still garbage full from the 4th. No one picking up or cleaning the garbage from the sites. We had to pick up all the garbage when we arrive .

Shelia Jones

Restroom useally not very clean. When we were there in July one shower stall was broken and had no shower curtain floors needs cleaning around the baseboards extremely bad.

My family loves to go camping here and to go on walks on the trails. It's a short drive from Batesville but it feels like your in a whole other place. Great to visit if you feel like getting out of town. There is plenty to do. The only issue is the older bathrooms aren't the cleanest but the new ones are great. During the winter months the majority of them are not accessible. There are several trails, playgrounds, beaches, swimming spots, tons of fishing space on the upper and lower lake, golf, plenty of picnic areas, ect. It's easy to spend a whole day here!

My family and I stayed in Cabin 10B, and after driving around lost in the pitch black dark, we finally get to our cabin. We were pulling a boat with a large truck, and the parking does not accommodate for that. Also, I woke up WAY too early due to bedbugs. DO NOT STAY HERE!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

This is a great place to camp or ride boats/jet skis. It is also a great place to fish, it has several playrounds and decent restrooms.

What a gem! The place is huge. At the base of Sardi Lake Dam. Some sites were very large, and park was super quiet! Showers and toilets were very clean. And friendly folks!

We spend every Memorial Weekend at John Kyle State Park (to attend the St. Jude Bass Classic Tournament) for over 12 years now I know. It's a fun place but the cabins definitely need to have some work done. Centipedes and roaches were so horrible we went and purchased home defense bug spray and used. There's always fire ant beds around the picnic area at the cabins, we have to bring stuff for that too. And they never mow! If they could do some work it would be a great place.

Prices for camping here increased, most of the bathrooms are not usable, money was allotted for improvements but none have been done. Half of the campground is a waste, blocked off (no entry ). 2 bathrooms locked. Something needs to be done. This used to be a great park. People in charge here don't take pride in making this a good facility. Very few campers anymore. While Oak Grove next door stays full all the time.

I had a great time down there, great scenery, nice people, but the bathrooms sucked. The bathrooms were clean and all, but the urinal didnt flush, the showers had 2 options, boiling hot, or ice cold. The shower also had no vent, the a/c unit didnt work, so i walked in, its very hot and full of steam, im sweating before and after my shower. There was one fishing spot near the water, but driving around, there was no other spot to fish of the shore without being in trees. But overall, my time was good, we set up in a shady area, found nice places to eat, and nice people.

Rachel Allen

Beautiful place. Went there for a wedding. The only down fall is something happened with the power and we had no power to the cabins nor the lodge while trying to get ready for the wedding and noone even offered some of the money back because of it. They acted like it was no big deal to have no power but when you are trying to get ready for a wedding and have no power and you are over an hour away from home it is a pretty big inconvenience and stressor! But other than the power it was a beautiful place.

This was a let down. The park needs a lot of work to be a family park. It's more of a fishing village. No one care what it look like and the bathrooms were old that need to be updated. We moved over to the camp grounds managed by COE. That is a nice park, very well maintained and bathrooms clean and up to date.

Matthew Mickelsen

Had a fantastic time here. Washrooms were clean and park was beautiful. Camp hosts were friendly as well. If I had more time to spend in the area I definitely would have liked to walk around the damn and the river because the this area was very relaxing. It should be noted during my stay there was hardly anybody here which made for great sites because you can see straight across the park with no encumbrances of RVs. I can say unequivocally I would not want to stay here if it was packed. But I enjoyed my stay and I definitely would return here again.

Elizabeth Lewis

Awful run down campground, so disappointed. Used to camp here 30 yrs ago, decided to revisit. The state of Mississippi should be ashamed of the conditions at John Kyle. Don't see us ever coming back here again.

Sylvia Pipkin

So far from the time me and my husband have been here it's a nice quiet place

Donnie Wright

The campground has great sites with oddly laid out water and septic hook ups. Make sure you have plenty of hose, fresh and black water, because some of the hook ups are pretty far from your site.lots of trash on the beach and around the camp sites. Leave it better than you found bit, or leave it alone.

Jackie Joyce

This place is practically closed. The actual state park anyway. Not the small section on the lake. The pool has been filled in. We drove for an hour and finally found a ranger to tell us this. All buildings in the state park are closed. Only has cabins and I guess you have to book them on-line. It's pretty property but has become run down.

JD Leavell

Cool Beach area with cold water coming from the bottom of the dam. Nice camping areas

RoseMary Sharp

Not maintained very well. Part iof the park is closed off.. We had to use bathrooms at least a quarter of a mile away. All of the other bathrooms were closed. All of the showers by the beach were all disabled so oneone could use them .Lovely location at Sardis Lake but other parks are nicer. Price was right.$30.00 a nightWe had a nice spot but packed togethe.Should have specified animal areas ..Use Oak Grove Park.

It is a beautiful park, we went for Memorial day weekend and it was full but everyone was quiet after 10pm. The large beach had a lot of people but didn't feel crowded. The restrooms and showers leave a bit to be desired but they are functional. We will definitely stay again.

Okay, in all fairness, we were at John W Kyle during a non-peak time. February. We arrived after dark and could never find our site. Very poorly marked spots. We finally got settled the next day. The park was in bad condition. Limbs and trees down everywhere. No bathrooms or showers were open except one which was very far away from our "prime" spot. The spot we chose was listed on their site as one of the best, 285, however they shoved 5 spots very close together to just to see a small bay. On top of that, one of the ranger's single wide trailer bouse was right next door with a yard full of material and equipment. It was an eyesore. There were also dogs barking non stop from somewhere. We were also there 3 days before we found someone to check us in. Maybe in the peak times the park is nice and well kept. They just were not ready for people yet. It has the potential to be a beautiful park.

Great park and lake. WORST signage to RV campground I've ever encountered in a state park. I've traveled all 50 states. After hours arrival at main park entrance. No map. Called after hours number for park ranger. No answer. Called campground number. Recording. Found map on pavilion at beach tent campground. Not marked with RV CAMPGROUND. Had realities in another state on internet trying to find map. Two hours looking for campground. Finally got directions from relative. GO SE ACROSS DAM ON 315. Take first right toward lower lake below dam. Don't look for campground sign. There isn't one. Go to stop sign take right. No sign. RV campground is ahead on left after you cross spillway. Turning for campground easy to miss in the dark

We arrived at 6PM after being on the road all day. I called earlier in the day and was told that arriving late wouldn't be an issue and that there would be a ranger that would help us. After driving around forever in the pitch black, we never found the park ranger or our campsite. We decided to camp in an empty RV spot instead. The signage in this place sucks and would have really helped us that night. The site was loud, with barking dogs, road noise, and someone's roosters at 3AM. In the morning when we started cleaning up, we noticed that there were no trashcans.........anywhere. I've never been in a State Park that didn't have trashcans. So, next time I'll camp elsewhere. Someplace with a ranger, signs that tell you where to go, and trashcans.

Our cabin ac leaked and left puddles in the floor. Picnic table not usable. Not good access to water. Shelf in bathroom kept falling apart.
