Could be a great place with some care. We visited family and the boat dock area is in bad shape. Just really ran down and not kept up. Seems like they do as little as possible to keep it all going. The pool was nice but the putt putt area was awful. This could be really great park. It's kinda sad really.

If you're looking for casual camping that does not involve backpacking, this is a fun place. The "primitive" camping area is in the woods but can become a little crowded with people. It's a lot better than a lot of other campgrounds where people pretty much pitch a tent in a parking lot. JP Coleman is a great place to rent a cabin and they have a boat launch. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It's a fun getaway on the scenic part of Pickwick Lake.

One of the state's premier state parks. Nice camp spots. Nice cabins. The motel is clean and decent also. A last minute decission to go here can be a bad idea. Planning and reservations are a great idea. Summer months generally fill up fast. Excellent fishing and boat access. We always "plan" on a vacation here multiple times per year.

Not so great, they gave our reservation away and then over charged us a day. We left early and it really was no fun at all.

4 dollars for motorcycles to enter. Clearly a boating access point. Would have been great if I had a boat but it was an underwhelming motorcycle destination.

Stayed here over the weekend for our womens family reunion. It was a perfect place for a big family. We rented a town home which was very accommodating, full kitchen. Also had a motel room..which surprisingly had a full kitchen as well. Both had patios and an amazing view of the lake. The staff was great and very helpful. Especially Gary who went over expectations to make our stay comfortable.

Great park overlooking a river and inlet. Big RV spots and clean bathrooms and showers. It's really down in the valley and the small Creek you drive through to get there is pretty cool!

Beds are HARD AS BRICKS! Nothing is supplied...there are bare necessities...no hair dryers, one thing nice were the towels were thick and luxurious.

I've been going to J.P. Coleman for several years. The service isn't what makes this place so great but the scenery. I recommend purchasing the townhouse or cabins. Everything is kept tidy and neat. Pets aren't allowed inside rooms but other than that it's pet friendly. They have fishing tournaments and leisure boating.

Stayed in a cabin 10 B and it was very clean excellent condition and only $70 per night we caught Smallmouth and largemouth bass everyday for 3 days had a great time and we'll go back however be prepared there is no cell phone service hardly at all at this park and they don't have wifi

We LOVE JP Coleman. Go there all summer and they have a great boat ramp and camping is fantastic. Kids love the pool and mini golf also. Campers are friendly and we've made lots of new friends at JP.

We visited J P Coleman State Park in February 2019 for our first camping trip of the year. It was a beautiful weekend and there was only one other camper in the park when we got there. A couple more rolled in and by Sunday morning there were 5 of us total. We parked on the bluff and had great views of Pickwick Lake. Having sewer was a bonus. I believe this campground fills up fast once spring break comes around. We will be back.

The bathroom was not clean. Shower had mole growing in it. The carpet had stains. I love camping here but would not recommend cabins. The lady at the office was very rude when I went to purchase ice. The grass needed mowing.
