This is a fun area and the recreation areas around the lakes are kept up really well. I didn’t love how much private land there is though which made finding areas to explore hard. Also, came back with literally about 200 tiny ticks on me so if you go bushwhacking at all, be prepared.

Very quiet camping. Tall trees give plentiful shade. A little 4 mile drive off Interstate 22, worth it. Bring supplies cause, gas station has cheap gas, but not mch else.

Pretty National Forest. Dirty bathrooms at Chewalla Lake Recreation Area. We we're one of three people here in mid November. There's a little island near the campground accessable by a bridge. A neat swimming area is set off by bouys.

ABSOLUTELY beautiful! Not as buggy as one might imagine! This hidden gem shouldn't be missed! Quiet, with everything you need for, RV, camping or a stroll, not to mention the price is just right!

Who doesn't love the forest? This forest has all the trees you would expect to find, plus three more. Hardwoods and softwoods alike, they are all there. Much to my surprise, I also found a plethora of bushes and shrubs. There were even several grasses. I've heard there are animals, but I didn't see any. I heard something, but it could have been anything really. Next time I go back, I'm taking a flashlight. It got dark when the sun went down and I could not see.

Lot of big hardwood mixed with pine. Rich in game and sights. Natural, not in a vehicle type sight seeing tour, but from the birds eye.

Very creepy camping park,bathroom were full of bugs and huge spiders! Pretty lake but looks run down and unkept overall the park is beautiful but very secluded.

This was a nice place. All full of nature and stuff. Trees and animals and of course bugs. Serene and peaceful. Took one star off because being mature, it was dirty. Was hard to see the forest for the trees. Nice poison oak and Ivey. Definitely put an itchin on ya. May or may not be back.

It's great in that there is easy access and solitude , but the locals toss out cans of Bud Lite and other trash which is ugly (America the Beautiful, remember? ) and unpatriotic. The solitude and forrest is great. To bad about the litter bugs. Make America Great! Don't litter.

This place is great for picnics, family fun, disc golf, hiking, fishing, family reunions, and just renting the cabins for a get away. Tell the kids if the watch closely they may catch Smokey the Bear checking in on all visitors to remind everyone the importance of fire prevention safety.

It's really pretty, don't get me wrong. But the trails were a bit hard to find, and while they were well marked at the start of the trail, they kind of tampered off and you're just following a decent worn path and your gut feeling. When you get to that point, there are beer cans around the decently worn path. Normally, a worn path is enough to go on even if you're not familiar with the area IF you had a map or if there was even map of which you could snap a picture somewhere. Alas, there were none of these, so with the sun setting, the beer cans becoming more prevalent, and my gut feeling like it was time to head back the way I came, I hightailed it out of there. Really pretty though.
