It's a forest. So yeah. You should pretty much know what to expect.....trees, animals, bugs etc. They have nice, well maintained trails to traverse. Trails are well marked so you can find your way back. 5 out of 5.

This trail is incredible. I come here any chance I get. It's hard not to admire the incredible nature surrounding you the entire time. It has been surprisingly well kept. I haven't seen that much litter on the trail, even as far as 3 miles in. I would definitely recommend visiting for a hike or just to see the few visual gems scattered across the trail. Please don't litter if you decide to visit. Gotta do our part to save the planet nah mean? Peace in the middle east. P.s these are photos from the trail I've taken myself.

We went down 1 trail but we plan to go explore more there. You can rent canoes and there is camping and many many trails to hike. The whole area is beautiful. The trails are well maintained. I wished that the trails had more signs on them to let you know how long each trail is. Etc. Overall we had a nice hike.

We just love this place, it's not too busy during the week, the pond has ducks for the kids to feed and we love walking the trails. There is a lot of hunting so i would either stay out during hunting season or make certain to wear orange. We love to take our lab here at least 2-3 times a week and let her swim till her heart is content.

Great place to hunt and fish. There are several lakes and ponds to fish in and creeks. There is alot of natural trails you can also walk on and see plenty of wildlife.

Doesn't look like the Forrest Service has cleared this trail in a long time. I could barely find the trailhead and there were massive webs everywhere. Disappointing to lose such a beautiful resource to neglect.

This is a great trail. It is not usually crowded. After the first few miles I was able to let my dog off it's leash and she loved running about. The trail is not very difficult to navigate with hardly any hills to speak off. The ground is easy on the feet and legs because there usually is a soft covering of pine needles to cushion your steps. Nice easy enjoyable way to spend an afternoon in the outdoors

I just did the Black Creek Trail. The trail was very poorly maintained, one part of it had been washed away into the creek, and the trail was very poorly marked especially the parts where you have to get back on the trail from the road.

If you enjoy being outdoors, and want to spend some time in beautiful surroundings, then here in South Mississippi. DeSoto National Forest needs to be on your short list of places to visit, even if you do nothing more than just take a drive through any part of it.

This is a great place to go enjoy nature. Walking trails go all through the forest. You could spend all day and never see the same tree twice. There is a small lake and camping area at the POW camp. Just make sure to bring mosquito repellant.

ICE COLD SHOWERS AT CYPRESS LANDING! Garbage was overflowing and looked generally abandoned. I camp twice a year, throughout the country. We won't be back to this park. I called, made a personal visit so they could fix the showers.NOTHING! I can only hope for a permanent gov't shutdown.

The caves were beautiful but my small group was the only people there and it was kinda boring after the tour of the cave. Also everything is super expensive. They have games and neat boothes but the employees weren't really working them. I walked into some games free thinking it was okay bc no workers were around. (wasn't trying to be sneaky I just was exploring cuz doors were open I'm sorry//)

Great trail to log a few miles. 13.1 from one end to the other. If you're the first one out in the morning, you will def want a stick or trekking poles to take down spider webs before walking into them. Bug spray is a must and if it has been raining a bit then you may get your feet wet trying to cross a few areas where the water interacts with the path. When the path is dry, there are still a few spots where crossing can be difficult if you have any trouble with balance. Overall a great place to get away from all the noise and enjoy nature. You'll typically encounter a few people with dogs within the first mile or two (entering from 49). If you hike the entire path, a tick removal tool is handy to carry as you'll usually pick up one or two. There are mile markers throughout the trail that are pretty well in-line with GPS (maybe off by a couple tenths depending on how many miles you go out and back).

I currently live here (temporarily) on wire rd east and I just got in about midnight and before pulling in to the driveway I sat in the middle of the road 20 ft from my driveway watching the prettiest Doe feed for like 15 minutes,what an experience God is so so good!!! DONT KNOW WHERE THE H*** BROOKLYN CAME IN AT BUT I WAS TEMPORARILY LIVING IN TRUE WILDERNESS (STONE COUNTY)....

I had a lot of fun. I took my dogs with me and they enjoyed the trail a lot. Its fairly quiet out on the trails and very enjoyable. The terrain is a little rough in some spots, but I personally loved that. Good for most ages, but be careful of snakes, and make sure you bring bug spray.

Took the Black Creek trail from fairley landing. Trail head is not by river but back at the 3 way stop. Trail was relatively muddy/wet for the first ~3/4 mile. Really quiet, did not see anyone else on my 10 mile Saturday hike. Some up and down and some river views.
