We were visiting from Ireland and thought we would try an escape game. We've done escape games all over the world, but I can safely say that we had the best experience at this one in Mall of America. Blake is a terrific host and we could not have been more impressed with his service, professionalism and enthusiasm. The Prison Break was the best game I've played. There was just three of us and it was clever and challenging, yet we managed to escape! Seriously the best game, wish every one was like that. We had so much fun with Prison Break that we went on to play the Mission Mars game. This one was also not like any escape game we played. We came back two days later and tried the Special Ops: Mysterious Market. The following week we did two more. Gold Rush was really fun and well put together. Same with the Heist. We have played these kind of games across the US and Europe, but I have to say that the cleverness and "special effects" at the MSP one surpasses the rest. Just real cool. My only lament is they ran out of pins, so we never got our Prison Break pin.

Escape rooms are one of those things that is a great experience, but only for the first or second visit. This is no exception, but the puzzles are quality. I highly recommend the prison break room as it is highly challenging and is the peak of what they have to offer.

Did the 'Gold Rush' adventure as a group of 3 while our daughter was home from college. (We Escaped!). It was a good, fun set of challenges. The only comment I'll make is there was one point where I wished I had some paper and a pencil. Reserving space and filling out the waivers online really helped out being able to get started right away. We had a great time and certainly are thinking about trying the other adventures!

(As a note, this is the 3rd escape room venue I've done, and the 6th room overall) Absolutely fantastic experience! There was a bit of a wait to get a room, but I wouldn't really expect less from an escape room in the Mall of America. It was definitely worth the wait, and we were paired up with a couple of other people because our group wasn't large enough for the room we had selected. They turned out to be a great couple, and the room had plenty of experiences so that we all got a chance to participate. It did seem that there was only one path to success, and that it had to be done step by step in order to succeed, (that is, some people could not work on one task while others worked on a different one. Step A unlocked parts to step B, and step B unlocked parts to step C, etc) but that was not necessarily a detractor to the experience. Would definitely go again, and would love to experience some of the other rooms! They offered some great swag to purchase before or after your room experience, which is a first as far as I've seen.

My group and I had a great time here. We did the gold rush room and were surprised about a lot of the details the room had. There was some cool things that we hadn't seen before in other escape rooms we've done before. I would definitely recommend it! Our group managed to escape with 20 minutes to spare. It is fun for all ages!

The Escape Game at the Mall of America was FANTASTIC !! The story lines are excellent and exciting. The puzzles are smart and sophisticated (though not impossible to solve). The room details are simply amazing !! Our family of five had such an amazing time after the first game that we had to sign up for another ! Team work was great and competitive fires were burning. We loved it !!

This was an all around great experience! We had so much fun running around figuring out the puzzles, the staff was so much fun as well, Alexis was our escape room guide and Tim was the manager. We had such a good time, in fact, we already paid for another session to come back (and you get a discount if you pay for it the same day). Definitely recommend, well worth it!

We did Gold Rush and loved it so much we stayed and did The Heist right after. We escaped both, and they were both an absolutely thrilling adventure. Lots of fun, we did the gold rush room as a family, and there was another family with us (they have 8 slots so there can be other people). We used a few extra clues but made it out with three minutes to go. It’s a cool activity, I highly recommend it!

I did the game The Heist and it was so much fun! It was hard but fair and the hints were fantastic. All the staff was super friendly and really made the experience great! Everything was well organized and the room was super cool. I can’t wait to be back and i’m sure it will be just as fun!

Did a walk-in for the 9:50am slot, the staff was courteous and kind! The escape room was fun and a bit challenging, first timers. The rating is 7/10 for difficulty.. It was just the two of us and we used a total of 4 clues, made it just with 00:00:36 left! Got the "I ESCAPED" stickers and bought an additional shirt for $20 for memories. Definately coming back, will try to challenge ourselves with a higher level next time! Also a fun way to get to know each other better! This is a fun couples event! Currently they had a special for the day if you do a second you got 40% off and if you got a gift card for next time you got 20% off! Nice deals!More Date of experience: April 2019

My boyfriend and I have completed all of the escape games here and loved each one! We have played 16 escape rooms from around the country and we love this company! We have escaped all of the rooms not without challenge! At this location we did Mission Mars with our family which is one of our top favorite rooms and Special Ops with our friends. The production value they put into their escape rooms is out of this world! The unique puzzles and the surprises are what keep us coming back! The website difficulty ratings are pretty accurate. In my opinion, The Heist was more of a 9/10. We will be travelling to the other locations that have new themes!

Such a great place! I’ve been to over 10 different escape rooms and this place is by far the best. It’s a multi room place with lots of creative puzzle solves instead of just a bunch of 4 digit code locks. Worth the price. Also the staff is really nice and make the experience even better!

Nice Escape Room experience located in the Mall of America. The prices here are more expensive than some other operators in the area, but I suppose that's to be expected in the MOA. The staff were all friendly and helpful before, during, and after our mission. We went through their Prison Escape mission and got out with over 2 minutes remaining! Definitely a fun way to spend an hour for an experience you'll be talking about long after!

Not a great escape room experience. We did two rooms and their were mediocre, blinding, and extremely linear. By linear I mean only one puzzle running at a time. I do not suggest doing a room with more than 3 people here. For the price it should have been on of my top 10 experiences, instead it was very subpar.

We did Special Ops: Mysterious Market and it was phenomenal! Hands down the best escape room I’ve ever done. The interactive touch screens, the high quality decor, and technology made this room extremely challenging, but so much fun. We escaped with 1 sec to spare. I highly recommend!!

Escape rooms, by design, are there to test your wits, your critical thinking, and your ability to work under pressure, among other things. The Escape Game does this and more. I hadn't done an escape room until yesterday (Aug 25), but I had done a bit of research as to what I was getting into, and I have to say that they did not disappoint. Likely the best experience that you will have from a location that doesn't tear itself down or move. Let's just say the game master who brought us in was shocked that we managed to escape on our first ever room. Before committing to doing an escape room make sure that you are sufficiently prepared mentally to fire on all cylinders, otherwise you will miss the benefits. The Pros: Very thematic, its hard to not fall into the role that the game has placed you in. Kind staff Beautifully designed puzzles Difficult challenges, with big payoffs at each stage of the puzzle Attention to detail, there were quite a few pieces in the room which were set dressing, however they were not useless, be careful where you place things, you never know if you will end up covering something that you will need later. While I know there are more pro's here, I will admit to not remembering them all. The Cons: Sometimes very tight area (While it was accessible by a motorized scooter, it did make the puzzle more difficult, the staff were forth coming that a scooter was likely not going to be helpful) The Price, at 40 dollars a person (we had a group of 5) it was pretty steep, while I will say its worth it, a lower price (by maybe even 5 dollars each) would have caught my attention. Slot-in type play, while we did manage to avoid this by choosing a time that was very late, and having a larger group had we chosen an earlier time we would have been slotted into a game with 2 other people, which how you would fit 7 people in a room the size we were in, is confusing. We were thankful to the staff that they gave us a slot on our own. Worth it: Yes, at $40 a person you will not be disappointed, while it sounds expensive, and might turn you away from the experience, it is a very good experience, and one you will not forget.

Our friend group has done most of the escape rooms around the twin cities and this place is one of our favorites. Their rooms are big and really well designed. I wouldn't recommend this if it's your first time doing an escape room, some of their puzzles can be pretty tricky. But definitely check this place out after you've done a couple and have a general feel for escape rooms. That being said you can ask for as many clues as you'd like so if you're only going to do one escape room this would be a great place to do it.

I have now done 4 of the escape rooms at this location and all of my experiences here have been wonderful. My favorite room so far has been Special Ops! In all of their rooms, I really enjoy how there are a wide variety of puzzle types not just a series of locks that you need to get through. This really helps to not only make each room feel unique, but also each puzzle within the room. Big shout outs go to our game guides Mark, Jayce, and Shelby for for giving us great experiences. I can't wait to come back to do the final room!

This is the best escape game place I have heard about. It is the only place I have played an escape room, but they are very fun and very well done. I have done all of the games they have available and if I could forget them to do them again, I would. I have done them with both friends and family, and the more people you have to figure out puzzles, the better. This place is well set up and well run from what I can tell. Go here and you will want to try them all. It's so fun!

I played Gold Rush today with a sister and niece who were visiting from out of state. It was intense as we got to the final minutes, but we were excited and proud to have finished with 1:27 to spare! Everyone of us contributed to our successful escape. The Escape Game is one of the most unique and fun experiences available at the Mall of America. I wasn't sure what to expect when I reserved a room. It was 60 minutes of total fun. I didn't want the game to end. It leaves you wanting more. My family and I almost decided to stay and do another game and we would have if we didn't have a dog at home waiting for us. My experience today was fa-nominal. The staff create a welcoming atmosphere that just gets you pumped to crack the code and escape. They really seem to care about the customers experience. After you complete the room they ask for constructive feed back to improve their games. This factor separates the good establishment from the bad. from the bad. The prices might seem high at first glance, but the high quality and detail put into the rooms makes it all worth. This place is perfect for birthdays of people +13. If you are looking for a challenge that is fun, hard, and team building then The Escape Game is perfect for your occasion. And remember, the key to all the puzzles are right in front of you. All you have to do is think outside the box.

I've never done an escape room game before, so I didn't know what to expect. We picked the hardest game this place had to offer and there were 7 of us playing. It was honestly very challenging but also very fun! The staff was very helpful in answering questions beforehand and helping us behind the scenes when we were stuck. My wife and I have been here several times, and it's been a great experience. The rooms are extremely immersive, with excellent attention to detail, and the puzzles are challenging - but not too challenging. :) When you go make sure to get a group of 7 or 8 people so you don't have to team up with strangers. Communication is important to escaping these rooms, which can be difficult with people you don't know.

This place is incredibly fun, and a higher end experience then most of the other local escape games. I have played all of the current puzzles at this location, and am eagerly waiting until they add more. I have played other escape games at various other companies within the twin cities area, and they all are kind of low budget, not very fun or immersive experiences. A lot of escape rooms suffer from bad QA, forgetting to put all the puzzle pieces back in the room is pretty common. However I have not had this experience at the escape game. Beyond that their visual effects here set the bar quite high. They do not rely on cheap tricks like wallpaper bookshelves for instance, if there is a bookshelf in the room, it is an actual bookshelf with actual books for instance. They also use a lot of sophisticated sensors, and other mechanical triggers in their puzzles. One other thing I'd like to note is the GM can really make or brake an experience. If you do go, and Blake is on staff that day, request him if he is available.

My husband and I have completed every room at this location. By far the best collection of Escape Rooms in the Twin Cities. Rooms are very well put together and the puzzels follow very nicely. We were able to complete all of them with just the 2 of us. The owners and crew are super nice and happy to give you recommendations on other local area rooms that they have done. The merch that they have is pretty awesome too. I wish they had more rooms so I could go back. Highest recommendation!

Been to quite a few escape rooms, but this was by far the most difficult when it came to hints and locks. Many of the locks were sticky and even when we put the right answer into them they would not work. When it came to the hints, they were not helpful and were often misleading. I recommend going somewhere other than the Mall of America for escape rooms, the smaller locations are where I had the most fun even with the difficulty being the same!

I have officially done all of their rooms. (I have done 40+ escape rooms) This company has my favorite rooms ever. The quality is unbeatable to anywhere else I’ve played. They offer a discount for booking another room upon finishing one, which is HUGE for people who love escape rooms!!! The other day we had a not so great experience due to extenuating circumstance and we were placed into a bad mix of people in our room that muddled our experience. The manager took us aside afterwards and corrected the experience for us before we even had a chance to complain. Their rooms are clean, extravagant, and their customer service is top notch. If you have never done an escape room before, be aware they might set the bar very high ☺️

This was the first time I had ever experienced The Escape Game. My husband and I took our 14 year-old and 22 year-old to The Gold Rush Escape Room. We had so much fun working together to figure out the clues, which were very challenging. It was so exciting when we would succeed by cracking a code and move forward to the next clue. My wife and I have never experienced an escape room We went with my daughter and her boyfriend (they have done an escape room before). First we have a fantastic time (although we did not save the world), the quality of the room, the props, the game and supporting media, was outstanding - you felt like you were in the experience. Very professional place. They had videos to explain the rules and the scenario you were in. The puzzles were hard but not impossible, especially if you have a few other people with you. I enjoyed Gold Rush which is their first recommendation for those who haven't done an escape room before. Overall, enjoyed my experience! I’ve played the heist and gold rush so far and I cannot to wait to do them all! The details of each room go above and beyond my wildest expectations. These rooms are thrilling and challenging. They never cease to amaze me on the new and unique types of puzzles they have in their rooms. Michael and Aaron, our game guide and front desk staff member made the whole experience great from right off the bat, with a friendly greeting and their upbeat excitement. I would recommend any and all escape rooms they have to offer, you will not be disappointed! We are already planning what room to do next, I’m thinking mission mars! A huge thank you to all the TEG staff who put the time and energy to making this experience as positive and fun as possible.

We did the Gold Rush and it was so much fun! The staff was very friendly and enthusiastic which made the experience better. Compared to The Heist and Prison Break, it wasn't as challenging (but still super fun! (probably my favorite), so I think this would be a good one to start off with if you haven't done one before. I definitely want to go back and try another one!

Having done 6 escape rooms previously at other places, we decided on Mars because we have never seen an escape room take place in space. It had just enough difficulty to be enjoyable, and a few hints here and there to complete it with just 5 min to spare. Lots of well done effects, lighting and atmosphere puts this one up top. Very well done and out of all the experiences at the Mall, this one is actually worth your money.

Fun place, great deals on the right day. Challenging puzzles, I feel like a little more time would be helpful, they give you an hour. My girlfriend and I did 2 of the games and we were very close to finishing, I think another half hour would have really been nice. Highly recommend the 'special ops' room. It had a very fun twist to it. Would definitely go back. Nice staff too

I did the game “mission mars” and it was amazing. The puzzles were pretty difficult at times but they were fair. Everything was very clean which is appreciated. I was in a group of 4 and it got pretty stressful but we managed pretty well. Our game master (or whatever you call it) Josh was awesome. He gave very helpful clues when we were stumped and was genuinely excited for us when we got out of the room. Will definitely be returning. 10/10 would recommend.

I took my fifth grade daughter and my husband to the Escape Game at the Mall of America. We did the Prison Break game at 1:10 p.m. on Friday with our party of 3 and 5 strangers. We had an absolute blast! The game itself was really challenging. We had 60 minutes and a few hints, but we still didn't quite make it out. Everyone participated and we formed a great team despite not knowing each other beforehand. The staff was really friendly. We were given clear but concise directions before the game. Our guide offered to tell us how to solve the puzzle when we didn't beat the clock. The pricing is comparable to other escape rooms. Overall, a great experience for my family!

This was my first time in an escape room. A lot of fun and challenging. It was the Mars Escape theme and I was told it was mid-level as far as challenge goes. I will go again, probably to try the prison theme which sounds very fun.

This was my first escape room I got to do. I had a blast playing with my friends. The puzzles were hard but with four people and some clues you never felt stuck on something for too long. It was impressive how long the room was for how straight forward the instructions made it seem. I'm ready to tackle all of them now.

These are the best Escape rooms in MN currently. I have done every room they offered and I would say their best in Order is Gold Rush, Prison Break, Special Ops, The Heist, and Mission Mars. The top 4 are really close, but Mission mars I wasn't a huge fan of, it has more tech than the other rooms but it didn't have the "wow" factor to me. Still good, just wouldn't say its worth the premium price.

This was so so SO much fun! We had an hour and got done with around 5 minutes left with a group of 3. If you enjoy puzzles and figuring them out with friends, do it. It's worth every penny, seriously! We will be back because we wanted to play a second one when we finished but it was closing time haha. Great fun!

I did the game “The Heist” and oh my goodness I haven’t had that much fun in awhile. It was amazing. The puzzles were challenging and I think we asked for too many hints but overall there was a lot of things. I was in a group of 4 and we ranged in age between 16 and 23. There were puzzles that everyone could figure out so we all felt as if we contributed to the success of the group. We escaped with 5 minutes to spare! Our game guide Josh was awesome too. He gave us exactly the right hints to us so we could figure out particularly difficult puzzles. The experience was great. Check in was a breeze, the staff was great, and the game was awesome! I recommend to others and I will for sure be coming back!

I just did the Gold Rush Escape room with my teen daughter and 2 of my sisters , it was intense, exciting, and a blast! Definitely a group effort was needed to figure how to proceed through the challenge, and a few extra clues as well, but we managed to escape at the last minute! I definitely recommend trying this challenge, and I look forward to trying a new room in my next visit to the Mall of America.

My wife and I have done every game at the Minneapolis location. These games are so much fun! Awesome date nights! Our favorite was probably Mission: Mars, but we would recommend all of them. We even did prison break with just the two of us, and had a ton of fun.

I loved this escape game. This is one of the more fairly priced ones in the area. There are a few options of games. Our group played 'The Heist". This was a well designed escape room with some original and some classic puzzles. We solved the room with two people, our time was around 59 minutes. Some other games include Mission to Mars, a special forces themed one, and more. The selections also rotate (I think). Overall, fun to play whether you are a beginner, someone who has played a few before, or an expert. I recommend a group of 4 or less people for this room, but up to six would be alright I believe.

Honestly, a lot of other rooms in the cities dont even come close to the ones I have played here. I have done and successfully escaped Gold Rush and The Heist so far and cant wait to try the others. The production value and originality in the puzzles are what make this company top notch.

My husband and I have completed all of the rooms and had a great time with each one - some with groups we knew, one with strangers, and Gold Rush and the Heist we did just the two of us. We've done a lot of rooms with other franchises too, and TEG's production value is unmatched. The puzzles are good, though I wouldn't say they are extraordinarily original or different from what other companies put together. I think Gold Rush is probably our favorite room - the theming is excellent, (who doesn't like a secret passage?), and I think its the most accessible for a range of ages. Mars and Special Forces are a little tech-heavy. You can buy yourself gift certificates at 20% off right after a game, or better yet, if you book an additional game the same day, get it for 40% off. So if you stalk the schedule a little and go on a quiet week night, you can get a great deal on a second hour of entertainment.
