REVIEWS OF Minnehaha Regional Park IN Minnesota

Laura Potter

Beautiful place to walk around. Trails were well maintained. Falls are gorgeous! There are a lot of stairs in some areas so plan where you want to home if that is an issue. Very kid friendly environment.

Dante Tolbert

Great place to visit for peace and quiet. Long trails and not too crowded. The steps are where they should be however on a hot day, it will wear you out. Worth it to get to the sitting pool though. Plus it's in the land of Prince. Can't go wrong there.

WAYNE STRONG

We went Labor Day and had fun. Sea Salt has really good food(try the catfish) and good beverage choices. Labor Day it took 70min to park. The Sea Salt line was 45min long. Best to go on days with less expected crowd. Always very fun people to talk to around the park.

Joel Collette

So, so beautiful! Huge falls- the water level was incredibly high! Lush green trees and grounds. Nice walking paths on either side of Minnehaha creek. Very beautiful and scenic! You can even wade in the river downstream at a natural wading pool.

hellen ferguson

Minnehaha Park is AMAZING! Lots of hiking opportunities down the stairs along Minnehaha Creek, below the Falls, and beautiful places to bike and walk, and overlook the Falls. The Sea Salt Restaurant is a bonus, over the Summer, with lots of delicious Seafood dishes! Plenty of space and picnic tables, if you want to eat outside also. The playground is wonderful too! Even I, an adult, have had a blast swinging on the swings, and playing in the sand. It's magical :-)

Minnehaha Regional park was a great experience because of the amazing environment and awesome things to see. The main part of this park was a waterfall that looked beautiful as you can see in the pictures. There was also a nice walking trail through historical statues. There is a fee for parking there, but the cost is low at around 2 to 3 dollars per hour, so it won't burn a hole through your wallet. Overall, this park is totally worth visiting if you like the view of nature.

Devanny D

This is a very beautiful park! The grounds are fairly easy to walk with lots of paved pathways, but there are lots of stairs leading down to the bottom of the falls, which may be difficult for some people to climb. We discovered several live entertainers along our route and stopped to enjoy lots of cute little critters along the way!

Padraic McGuire

Beautiful. Esp this year as the rain has kept the falls flowing through the summer. Generally well kept by Mpls Park Board, though they allow far too many weeds, very little grass in some places

Jessy Schrock

The waterfall was beautiful but warning those surrey bikes are no joke. Prepare for a workout, if you just think they will be cute..... Walk away you are in over your head.

Tanya Cirilo

Can’t get enough of this place. Always find something new.

Tag-A-Long

Pet friendly place. Children everywhere. Food and beverage court. Minnehaha Falls are ecstatic! Might even spot some friendly chipmunks!

Dave Cecchi

Here's the deal with Minnehaha Park - it is a fantastic family friendly park with tons of things to see and do, delicious food, beautiful easy hikes and, of course, the most iconic waterfall in the city no offense to St Anthony. You absolutely should go.

Dale Walker

Perfect blend of landscaped park with all facilities and pure nature of creek, falls, and river. No visit to the cities is complete without a stop here.

JCob K-LOW

Yummy water trickle. Flowing and a going? Maybe I do like it there. 4 stars are yours to interpret. Mind games got me listening to nature. Falls of water splish splash on rocks. GO. GO to this place.

Rebecca Moore

Love this park. I visited this park for the first time in probably 10 years. I would definitely take my bike to this area some time and go biking. I went hiking. Some of the trails were flooded. I would definitely come back again to this park. It has beautiful wildflowers and decidous trees. There are unpaved and paved trails.

angel p

Mostly paved trails, very ada accessible, band stand and a small section of playground equipment. The falls are awesome to look at. I wish there was more wooded trails and less open green picnic space. Go on Sunday to see inside the historic "princess" depot.

Jeremiah Nichol

Awesome place! Wow! Be sure to read up on the history of this part. It's older than you think!

Kalind Thakkar

Beautiful place. Nice and peaceful hike. Recommend visiting if in the area

Keri Erickson

I always love going to the Falls, especially when I am bringing people they from out of town! This time it was my cousin and 2 of her children! Nice walk even with the rain!

CarCrazy Steve

Really great spot. Go on an off day to avoid the crowds. Enjoy a hike or ride. Then stop for a meal and ice cream.

Dan Ng

Nice park and waterfall to visit, although I wished that it was a bit more of a hike to get down to the falls to have it a bit more adventurous. Can have lots of people closer to the evening, so the earlier you go the better. Highlight of the visit is the area where most people can sit on the beach area / sidelines of the river and get your feet wet. Some people like to jump into the river and bathe there with their clothes on, which was weird.

Evonne Payton

Parking was very close and the scenery was awesome. Comfortable place to have a meal and the weather was great. We enjoyed the pedal car as well. Lots of laughs and fun. Great place for family fun together.

Keno N

Beautiful atmosphere. Love the falls. Nice place for the family, date, or personal relaxation time.

White Tracy

Lovely place to bring the family has a nice restaurant called sea salt never been to the restaurant but I hear that's very good great family-oriented place

Monica Brady

Sounds..sights..smell of nature..close to home. Very nice and safe atmosphere. The best park I have ever been to..and I have been to many!

Dexter Watson

The park around Minnehaha Falls is one of my favorite places, especially in the non-winter months. There are events happening all the time. You never know what you might see. With a couple different food options nearby, bike paths and walking trails, not to mention the Falls itself, you could spend an entire day there

Albert Roth

Waterfall in a park setting. Expected a larger weatefall but still interesting. Nice hiking trails along the edges of the stream. Trail leads to a small lagoon where you can take your shoes off and splash around. Food line for lunch was way too long. Peddle bikes where cool but not for the week of legs. Nice park.

ERIK VALENZUELA

Amazing trail! Probably one of the best near the city's! Amazing waterfall, and a nice loop trail. Possible to do it in Sandals, but would recommend shoes. Can get a little muddy depending on the rain.

Joseph Biebel

Great place to visit. Food and drinks and bike rentals available. Nice trail. Places to get wet. Nice waterfall.

Joseph Mansir

We're from Florida and come to Minneapolis area to visit family one of which a couple of miles from the park. It is one of our favorite places. The falls are spectacular now and even in the winter when it mostly ice. There is also a trail that goes along the creek to the Mississippi River.

Joey StPeters

This park has just about everything. Waterfalls walking pads, great vegetation, and oh did I mention they have a awesome seafood restaurant if you like fried seafood and good beer. Go there, walk around, be one with nature. Sit and relax, and let all your stress melt away.

Gregory Niles

Beautiful park with spectacular views of the falls! Several trails including bike and walking paths. There's also a restaurant that serves quick food and beer. Great place for picnics or a hike.

John McNabb JR

Love this place went back twice the week I was on vacation.

Mackenzie Lynne

Great opportunity to explore a beautiful piece of nature, with the falls and hiking paths along the minnehaha river all the way to the Mississippi.

Sabrina Fullhart

Huge, beautiful park with manicured lawns and also wilder bits, a gorgeous waterfall, trails, and a very large dog park.

John Hatch

Natural prairie, the rebuilt stone tower of the old windmill on the hill above, and this time the bison herd was laying beside the road in the tall grass and two older couples around my age were leaving the mill as my son and I arrived, one of whom happened to be a grandson of the original owner. This in addition to the river and falls running at flood stage made for a pretty magical day.

Craig White

We went here today with my wife’s family and it was an amazing experience. It’s a beautiful area and the waterfall is gorgeous. We rented a double surrey bike for the hour and it was definitely something we will be talking about for awhile. We will be back again soon!

Adrian H.

Beautiful, always has been. Also the sea salt cafe is great too

Moe N

Really cool park to walk around and of-course the falls are beautiful. Street Parking is about two dollars an hour and just a short walk to the waterfalls, there is also a restaurant and lots of biking and walking trails. It’s a great place to be at on a nice day, I recommend if you are in the area.

Jeramy Chapman

Pretty hike and bike park with lots of parking options (though can be a hike). Great picnic park for families. I'd steer clear of the rent-a-bikes as they are very pricey. The falls themselves are beautiful.

Josh Barbier

You can get a beautiful view of the falls without going down the many steps to the bottom. If you do go to the bottom there's a trail to follow along the water. Not far from the falls there's a large area where people wade into the water and people swim a bit. My partner and I continued all the way to the Minnehaha dog park which is maybe a mile or two down the river. There is no official trail leading there by the river and I would only suggest doing this if you're up to explore and possibly get a little dirty. Not an easy walk probably a moderate+ difficulty hike for a regular hiker.

Danielle Laveau

Beautiful nature in the midst of a bustling city! There are quite a few trails and walking paths as well as food and beer. If you're lucky, there might be music and/or other entertainment going on when you are there!

Gerald Friest

We have made several trips to the falls in the past few years. At times we have biked (peddled) there, at other times we have driven there by car. There is a nice concession stand by the falls and several picnic areas and parking lots. Lots of shade and a couple of shelters in case of rain. Frequently there is live music by the falls, too. There are options to rent two and four seated bikes for those that might enjoy that. There are trails along both sides of the creek/river below the falls. After the recent rains the Minnehaha falls was particularly impressive.

Thomas Malooly

Great park, good place to walk around. The falls are spectacular. We all enjoyed walking all over this park. They have up to a four-person bicycle surrey you can rent and then travel their paths in the park. If you get hungry please try Se Salt for some excellent fish and beer and wine. Parking has a fee but is abundant. We will return to see the falls in the Winter.

jan bymers

Lovely and well kempt. It is some visitors who drop their garbage on the ground and walk right over it. Your mother does not work here. Be a decent human and pick up after yourself. Your children are watching and modeling your habits.

Ben Carr

Nice view. Hard to find trail as the map is very poor quality. Nice playground for kids and even a couple hand powered backhoes for bigger kids.

Shelso Susan

It's beautiful with a great vibe (maybe that's the thunder of the Minnehaha Falls rolling off the cliff). The only problem with this place is that it's so popular. We're all drawn to it. That said, there are lots of friendly, good people visiting, and we're often so cheerful in the spring that we'll just strike up conversations! I recommend that you visit, and bring your whole family.

Scott Thompson

Beautiful park! The falls are beautiful and there are miles of trails all the way to the Mississippi River. You can't go wrong here. The Get In Gear race us here every April and it's perfect to start your spring here!

Steve Frisch

Fun way to get out and walk around the park and enjoy the falls. Then head over to Sea Salt Eatery for some seafood.

BuckyDianna Failor-Fitz

Easy walking trails. Pet friendly. Beautiful waterfall and other activities close by. They even had food and drink and a large covered area to sit and eat.

Charity Huberty

I could feel the spray of the waterfall on my face! Just beautiful! Lots and lots of people and lots and lots of dogs.

Makwa Bellanger-Rook

Great place to being the family on a sunny weekend afternoon/day, the is lots to do. Such as tricycle bikes, peddle "golf" carts, disk golf, playgrounds, trails, picnic pavilions with built in bbq grills splash pads, and of coarse the Minnehaha Falls that you can walk down into and behind the falls in the open cavern, but trek at your own risk when exploring the falls cavern. Great recreational park for the whole family.

Jacob Lipp

One of those very cool "it's hard to believe we're in the middle of the city" experiences. Great way to enjoy nature close at hand. Very well maintained, and enjoyed by all sorts of people. The falls are beautiful & the wading areas are a great way to cool off.

HEMLATA PATEL

Very good waterfall view. I would recommended very one to visit this park just to enjoy the nature.

Josh Frash

Huge park with walking trails along the river. Minnehaha Falls is a must see if you are in the area. Close to neighborhoods outside downtown. Able to rent bikes to get around easier or bring your own.

Luke Johnson

Usually busy and hard to find parking but offers a beautiful view of Minnehaha falls, Sea Salt restaurant, dog park, four person bike rentals, events throughout the summer and an easy walk down to the Mississippi River, as long as you stay on the left side of Minnehaha Creek (while walking away from the falls.) I should give it 5 stars but taking one off for the crowds on the weekends.

Kristin Etling

Beautiful, peaceful park. Enjoyed walking and taking in the beauty of the surroundings. Loved how renting two seater, or family bikes was an option for visitors. Very nice, and a wonderful restaurant on the premises. Easy parking too.

Aaron Burr

Highly recommend restaurant here it is called sea salt fresh seafood flown in fresh everyday doesn't get any better oysters to die for

Alec Kloss

This park is a hidden Minneapolis Gem. Come hungry. Some of the best grab and go seafood is here at Sea Salt Eatery. Not feeling food? There's amazing ice cream here too. Bike rentals and trails to hike. This place has it all. Parking can be difficult, but worth the conquest. Snap a photo by the falls and don't forget to hike below.

Melissa Trunk

Minnehaha Regional Park is the perfect place for some summer fun away from the heart of the city. When you're walking around Minnehaha Falls and down the river, it feels like you're back in nature - like you're home but you have so many new things to explore. Minnehaha Regional Park is one of my favorite places in the Twin Cities.

Veronica Olson

The falls were nice, but many of the visitors were rude... climbing over the fence that had signs posted that it was prohibited and just generally being jerks and standing around acting as photobombs for everyone trying to get a nice picture of the falls. Too busy on a Sunday afternoon... Would otherwise probably be a nice serene place to enjoy nature.

Seth McGuire

It’s a giant park. There’s hiking and a waterfall. Bandshell has the most delicious seafood restaurant in it. 5 stars very nice.

Larry Adams

There is something here for everyone. If the falls and the crowds of lonesome aren't enough rent a pal car and the whole family can tour the park. Or get a two seater and take the sweetheart for a pedal. Lovely grounds and a nice lace to eat or just enjoy a cool beverage on a bench.

Michael Hines

Beautiful place to relax get in touch with nature listen to the falls and music come for the music as well!

Mike Mondloch

If Parking was free it would have gotten a five. Pretty nice for something so urban.. Lots of people but worth the stop. Very popular..

Tracey Janisch

Such a wonderful and peaceful place to visit. We love walking the trail and just relaxing for an evening. If you get a chance to go definitely stop here to experience great nature.

Jeremy Robinson

Beautiful Park and waterfall but the sheer volume of people passing through is unbelievable. Add the road noise from Hiawatha Avenue and the constant rail traffic. Now put a cafe restaurant in the middle of all of that and you'll see why this Park has lost much the peaceful aesthetic that attracted people to it in the first place

David Reyes

A place that is definitely worth visiting. I thought that I would need to hike to the falls, because the park is right next to a neighborhood, but it was very close to the parking lot!! It wasn't even a little fall either, it was a pretty decent sized one! I will say that there are a ton of stairs going up, and down, so be aware of that when planning your trip.

Marianne Davis

A magical park I feel lucky to have in my city <3

Spencer West

Beautiful park. It's awesome to have such an amazing waterfall right in the city. Unfortunately, the trails following Minnehaha creek all the way to the river were closed when we visited, which was a huge bummer. The waterfall is gorgeous and there are tons of other walking/biking trails connected to the park. Parking is a bit annoying as you do have to pay if you use any of the provided lots.

Emery Brush

This place is great! We went on a group hike here, and there was plenty to explore, as well as picnic areas, a wading pool where people could also fish, and beautiful scenery. There were also a few food options, which were pretty pricey, but it was nice it was an option. We also picked up some ice cream from the booth there as well. If you are looking for a good and free place to visit with family members or a group, this is the place. Being right off of the blue line is super helpful for transport as well.

Eric Westenberger

It is incredible to have such a beautiful display of nature so close to Minneapolis. People are drawn to the park for the fast water and waterfall. This is a great place to picnic, or get lunch from Sea Salt, a highly rated restaurant located at the park. There are some hiking trails for the more adventurous, as well as a calm inlet on the river where you can dip your toes in to cool off. You can also rent bikes and multiple person carts to explore the whole park at your own pace. If you haven't been before, be prepared to walk a while to find parking, but you can just count that towards the day's hike!

Sarah Collins

Great place for everyone to experience! Don't bypass The restaurant, Sea Salt! The food is delicious! The best Ground Walnut Burger (Veggie Burger) to be found in the state!

Dave Burton

One of the Twin cities must see's - plus the food and adult beverages at the restaurant are well worth the time. Lots of shady outdoor tables to enjoy a summer day and a shelter to get out of the rain if you get caught in a storm. The falls sits at the intersection of the west river road, Ford bridge and minnehaha parkway making it accessible by bike from all of the south metro and St Paul

Perry Laden

Great place in the city. Makes us feel like we are on vacation.

Alec Uspensky

This place has beautiful scenery, bike rental for miles of trail, and the Sea Salt for wine/beer with sea food focused grub (open seasonally)! Loved it.

Amanda Green

Beautiful park! We were there only a short time. There are paths with spots to sit along the river and even dip your feet in. The waterfall is beautiful.

jeanne dery

Beautiful park with walking trails and adjacent biking trails. Lots of green space and a small amphitheatre for entertainment. Kids playground. Also within walking distance is Longfellow Gardens. Great place for the whole family.

Tomas Carvajal Carvajal

Lots of stuff to do. Clean park. Great restaurants nearby. Limited parking space.

Takara Taziki Sauce

Parking is available in two lots. It's paid parking. There is a dairy queen nearby in case the need for icecream takes you. However, on site you can get a great amount of seafood and alcoholic beverages at the restaurant. The trails are generally safe, the waterfall makes for beautiful photos. You can rent quad bikes and tour the area bike trail. Occasionally there is music in the park being performed. And while we were there, somebody built a castle, entirely out of cardboard.

Jerrod Kaplan

GORGEOUS. GREEN. WATERFALL. SQUIRRELS. COOL SEAFOOD RESTAURANT. NOT THAT MANY MOSQUITOES. Yeah, great park.

Angel

I have only one word to describe my experience at Minnehaha Falls and that is "Beautiful".

Avis Thomas

Large, beautiful park. Always great to see the falls, and how they change with the weather. You can get good exercise, hiking down into the gorge, around the river flats and back. Or, you can stay at the top and look down. It's a 100 year old park with many mature trees. Multiple play areas for younger kids. Excellent restaurant. Rental "bikes" for multiple people. A pavilion for concerts. A terrace for relaxing and watching the scene. Free outdoor concerts in the summer.

Robert Govoni

Great place to take in the sights of nature and relax. Sit around hike enjoy the falls. So much outside to enjoy. Parking is relatively cheap and there plenty of wide open space to enjoy with friends family or just a wall Al by yourself.

Julie Parrish

This is a beautiful city park it's well managed and well maintained and loaded by many people. This was our first visit and the falls were just thundering spectacular. Parking was reasonable but hard to find.

Kayann Johansson

Even though I was only here for a couple hours. The park is well maintained. Parking was eaay even if you did have to pay. But rates where not terrible. And the paths were very nice.

Tom O'Connor

Truly unique spot to visit in the Twin Cities. Carve out a few hours, walk the trails and explore. With Sea Salt next door you're set for a great meal as well. Anytime my parents come to visit this is where they want to go.

Samantha Ross

Love going here but be prepared to fight for parking if you don't get there early. Otherwise park in one of the nearby neighborhood areas. The farther you walk down the trails the less crowded. Beautiful falls and take the chance to follow it all the way down to the river.

Curt Larson

My Wife and I go there often. It's close and beautiful! We also will bring a picnic lunch and eat while we absorbe the beauty and the serenity.

Trish Sewell

Alright Minnesotans, you have done public parks right! This park is so beautiful and well cared for. It was pleasant walking around and seeing so many families enjoying the park. The falls were beautiful.

Gino Fumagalli

A really great place to come and walk around after work or for something to do with your family/significant other on the weekend. The waterfall is nice, but if you bring some hiking shoes you can walk along the river trails all the way to the Mississippi. A lot of people swim or wade into the water because there is a place where it makes sense to do so- half way down to the Mississippi....however, I don't think you should. If you just take a second to smell the creek, even if it is moving water, you can really tell that skin contact with the water is probably not a good idea. Other than that if you can stand the lines for the restaurant the food is great at Sea Salt. The rental family bikes are fun. The dog park which is quite a ways away from the waterfall, but still in the park, is a fun place for the dog....assuming they are good tempered. 4 stars for the smell of the creek.

Jessica Irish

For someone from out of town, this was a homerun. There is so much to do here for a city park! We walked by the falls, waded at the bottom of the falls, hit the free wading pool, rented a bike that accommodated 4 adults and 3 small children, and at at Sea Salt. Overall, an amazing afternoon but could have easily lasted all day.

Marzella Brown

An absolutely wonderful place to visit. The Falls were breathtaking.

Abril Romero

You can sit view walk ur dog even better in winter

Jim wogan

Wonderful park and falls good exercise on the long trails. Music in the park and great eatery.

Stephanie Goodman

Always one of my favorite places to visit in the cities! Make sure to have good hiking shoes if you want to walk down the path to the Mississippi River!

Mike Chevalier

It's like being near Gooseberry Falls, but in the city. I would recommend that the park staff make more of an effort to keep garbage off the ground. And make sure visitors are doing their part as well.

Dawn Martinson

A beautiful patch of nature in the middle of our city. Plenty of trees to attach your hammock and hang out. A variety of walking paths, picnic areas, and playgrounds. Sea Salt restaurant if you want to catch a snack or meal al fresco.

Anthony Fuller

Bob Deck Is The Finest Captain On The River. We Were Privileged To Be Served By Himself And An Excellent And Kind Staff: Josh, Nick And Emma.

Sandra Burrowes

It's remarkable to have a green space so large and so wild in the midst of the city. A beautiful space of refuge.

Heidi Kaminski

One of many yearly visits to this beautiful park. Falls were flowing fast and majestically. Trails were full of natural beauty. Another unforgettable memory made!!

Mary Secor

I walked 14,584 steps. I parked at they Longfellow garden, it was glorious. The falls and creek walk was fun and so pretty. Love the sculptures and flowers. The expance of the park is so pretty and nice to walk.

Nana Z

Very beautiful and great for walking! Don't forget to visit a restroom before starting your adventures! ;)

Ricky DeMello

Great place for families, to relax by oneself, and for dates. Outdoors and pretty - can't beat that!

Yadid Gutierrez Huerta

What a beautiful park! Great location to take a calm stroll and enjoy nature. The sound of the waterfall is soothing! Definitely recommend visiting the falls!

Todd Berke

Nice park with very cool waterfall and Creek bed. I would have loved to have seen it when it was well maintained. Sadly, it is unkept and not repaired as needed. It is still a nice place to visit.

Jon Dyck

Beautiful state park. Can't believe that this is basically in the middle of Minneapolis. A couple of hours was not enough time to fully explore this park.

Elizabeth Walker

Love the falls and all the trails. Perfect place to wear out the kiddos by walking and seeing nature at its finest. Perfect flduring Spring, Summer, and a nice Fall day.

Carolina Margaria

This place is not only beautiful but it has plenty of picnic spots, grills, and the awesome sea salt eatery if you like beer and sea food. The bike and pedestrian paths are paved and well maintained. There is also a dog park.

David Bradee

A very nice city park. Always been clean and safe when I've been there. Come see the falls and stop by Sea Salt restaurant.

Steve Kozy

Nice park, great natural phenomenon and the Sea Salt food pavilion....craft beer selections too!

Justine Roberts

People are wonderful. The location is beautiful. A great place to relax, have a birthday party or just enjoy your day. Plus, many POGO players!

mark hodder

Nice area to walk astound the creek to the Mississippi river. Down side there are no bathrooms or portable toilets on the 1:30+ walk to the river and back. There is a nice swimming hole not to far down from the falls... a good place to cool off. The day we visited it was hot, the one vending machine was broken... the line for the restaurant was vey long... the nice girls at the ice cream stand hooked us up with cold water. It was not to crowded... except for the restaurant. Note the walk to the river is uneven, done well maintained paths, some not so well maintained. There are 5+ bridges so you can check out both sides.

BiocleanSystems

We always try to come here as a family and walk around the park every holiday. This year the water was flowing because of all the rain we have had. We were even fortunate to find parking fairly quickly. A Minnesota Must See!

Kristin Choudhury

Kept clean. Felt safe with security patrol. Thank you

Cedar Erickson

Beautiful! We took 8 people and 6 dogs walking in the Minnehaha Falls Dog Park (off-leash part) along the river. Then we ate at Sea Salt where the food is fresh and excellent followed by good ice cream right next door (don't recall the name). What a fabulous day!

Dana Meyer

Lovely green park to explore. Falls and locks with self guided tour. Rainy private day.

M. S

In a city with plenty to see this is a good place to go and recharge your outdoor battery. The trails around the waterfall are nice and not too crowded. Also, the rest of the park is the perfect spot for a nice walk or a picnic.

Everett Captor

Beautiful nice park! Minnehaha Falls was so pretty and you can get close! I loved Minnehaha Regional Park! I recommend it very much! Also has a really delicious outdoor restaurant calf Sea Salt! Beautiful!

Selena Elton

A beautiful gem in the city. You have to visit. There is an easy trail to walk and explore and a waterfall you can't miss. It was so relaxing to listen to the water and forget that I was not miles away from city limits!

Andrew Sean

Minnehaha is one of my go-to parks for meeting up with friends and simply "being" within the city of Minneapolis. Despite it's location nestled amongst busy streets, the park is an oasis of culture and life and peace-of-mind in which one can quickly become freed from the distractions of day-to-day life, if only for a few hours, and enjoy the beauty that lives amongst us in the urban world.

chadd gaither

Great waterfall and river located right in the city. Great for a BBQ or a casual meal at Seasalt.

juan rafael vazquez celis

Love it, just make sure if you wanna go around or close to the fall wear running or hiking shoes, it's fun and nice relax area

Janet Wambold

Beautiful scenery. Very peaceful. I loved the Crab Stuffed Avocado at The Sea Salt.

Mike Walton

This is always a nice park to visit. The falls are beautiful and the trails along the river are fun to walk.

Jeff Omdahl

I really loved the park. The falls were beautiful and the flowers were very pretty.

Jeremy m

Great place to spend the day walking around. Parking is a pain though. It's possibly better to just park at the MOA and take the train in otherwise you'll be circling the pay lot for what feels like hours.

Kelly Calcagno

Such beautiful grounds and a really cute little area to dip your feet in the water. You can definitely spend a while here, but you can also just go to walk around for about 30 minutes. Doesn't have to be an in depth hike, but it can be if you want it to.

Jackie Frello

Beautiful area to sit and visit. The food at the restaurant is really good too

Carrissa Ballard-Cropsey

Such beauty inside the city limits! This park is wild & free & makes you feel like you've left the city & noise far behind, but nope! It's so easy to loose yourself to the wilderness of the park.

Paul Seigfreid

Really a lovely park in the middle of town. Gorgeous waterfall, running water, families enjoying themselves, swimming, picnicking, barbecuing. A great place to visit.

Andy Weinkauf

Very nice and easy to navigate. Nice trails that were enjoyable to hike. Only thing that would have been nice was to have signs directing patrons to the different trails and areas (I.e. Stairs to the bottom of the falls, wading pool, gardens from the pool). We had to use Google maps on the satellite layer to figure out what trails we had to take, especially when walking from the pools back to the gardens.

Nikhil Bagde

Good place to get away from City quickly and be in nature. Nice water fall and good food truck options.

Aaron Piper

This is a very nice area. However, parking isn't free. Nothing I found that was convenient, was free. As stated before, this is a very nice area and I wish I could have stayed longer but your limited by what you want to pay. Is a walk in the park worth $5, $10, or whatever to you? Hard to say depending on what you want, but there should be at at least free times of the year.

liza mclaughlin

Great green space right in town!! Lost my camera but the parks dept found it and returned it next morning!!! Thanks to all involved. Love the laughing water!!

Brock Reinhard

One of the best biking and hiking cities in the country. The falls is one of the best stops along the trail system.

Remco Neerhof

Beautiful park, great for hiking. There is a pretty impressive waterfall. You can follow the river and even swim in it, or just sunbathe on the small river beach.

Ryan Pangle

For one, it was busy when we first arrived. Really busy. As we explored around, I now know why. They had live music, a great seafood restaurant, face painting, tons of activities for kids, oh, and that sweet waterfall!! Very cool place to check out when you're in the Cities!!

Mark Ryan

You would not expect a park this pretty, accessible and easy to get around in a major metro area, but, there it is. Go there and enjoy.

I have loved this park since I was a kid. It is wonderful to see how much the city put into it in order to make it a place to take the family.

Great place to go for a walk or enjoy a meal or game with family or friends. The falls are beautiful and the common areas are very well kept.

Over the years MPLS has designed the park for beautification.... parking on the weekends is $$$$$$ and fills quickly. Recomend off park parking as available Monday-Thursday.

Cindy Falco

Had a wonderful time walking and exploring the falls & surrounding area. It was neat, clean and very enjoyable

What a gorgeous park. I love the historic masonry, those stairs tucked into the mature trees are gorgeous.

A wonderful gathering spot. Beautiful falls, year-round. There are picnic facilities and restrooms, plenty of (paid) parking. Rent a bike, have a meal at the restaurant there, or just stroll the lovely grounds. Playground equipment for the kids. Horseshoes, too. A great outing!

Park it's probably the single most popular Park in the Twin Cities. And has swings and Jungle Jim's a place to get amazing fish at the Sea Salt, which is on the grounds. They also sell ice cream. If you feel like you want more variety there's a Dairy Queen just across the street and easy walk even with kids. It is extremely busy in the spring summer times especially on the weekend so be prepared for that. Also the closest parking is pay parking so come early to get good parking if you don't want to pay. Still, I must see when visiting the Twin Cities.

Always a great place to gather and people watch. Sea Salt with cold beer, tasty fish, and live folky/jazzy music is the best!

Nice. It was pretty busy late afternoon weekday when I went. Nice falls, several good photo spots and can get a nice walk in. Sea Salt eatery very tasty dishes. Recommend the fried fish sandwich and the fries scallops taco. Metro nearby, easy walking distance 1- 2 blocks.

Finding this park is like finding hidden treasure! All my years living in Minnesota I never knew we had such a beautiful park. Definitely check out their waterfall, it's a majestic force of nature. They also have some history behind the park, like the first house built on the west of the Mississippi River, and the first Railroad on the west of the river. There's also a playground for kids if they ever get bored. I also saw a stage, so I assume they have concerts every once a while. What's that? Hungry? Forgot to pack a lunch? This park has got you covered with a seafood restaurant. Tired of walking? You can rent a Pedal Car to give your feet a rest. It's no Central Park in New York, but I say it's worth a visit.

Explored the whole park. Takes a while is beautiful and scenic. Great place to take photos too

I love this park. The last time I visited, I was especially impressed with the native prairie vegetation planted on the south side of the river -- a great place to take a walk and reflect. And if you get hungry, Sea Salt will certainly do the trick. Unfortunately, you do have to pay for parking.

so beautiful and there is a restaurant there that serves seafood, we herd is amazing, we didn't go this time around but will check it out in the future. dogs are allowed on lease here through out park areas, bring you own bags to pick up after dog going to bathroom ..

Super fun! Both my 3 year old and one year old had a blast. They were mesmerized by the falls and loved skipping rocks into the Mississippi!

Always a stop when I get to the Twin Cities. Beauty in the city!

Another great park. Views of the falls are handicapped accessible. Restaurant and rest rooms nearby. Park in the upper lot by the Longfellow garden to avoid parking fees.
