As you can see it reaches an opinions average is basically the top, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the evaluation is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we don't usually stop to give opinions when they are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park corresponds to the category of Beach.
Waters warm, rentals are a little expensive, but since they are the only good game in town no choice. Sandcastle, is great. Good beers and excellent ceviche. Overall, nice place to relax Inna family friendly atmosphere.
Just a haven for all! Great people watching, especially the smaller ones. Adorable! Wonderful for bringing in cold beverages in a cooler, and snacks; sweet and salty. Wonderful restaurant available at the old concession stand. Pricey, but ice cream rules! Shade and picnic tables, a variety of watercraft abounds (recommend the single kayaks!). But, and I mean but...don't come without a natural bug spray (biting flies) and some 50+ SPF sunscreen. Or you will burn baby burn! Family fun, and young people magnet! Enjoy!
Ladies and Gentlemen of Minnesota, listen up! Lake Nokomis does have a beach. There are NO beaches in Minnesota. Stop calling lake shores beaches...just stop it. There are areas the water stops and mud/grass begins but there are NO beaches. Please go to either coast of the US for reference on what a beach is. That is all
Great beach but sadly there is no dock. There is one at a smaller beach across the lake though.
Great place to watch the sunset! Saw bats and jumping fish at twilight.
Beautiful beaches
Great for walking the dog.
The beach isn't that great, but there's plenty to do around the lake. Music and movies at the park. Or just go for a nice stroll around the lakes.
Wonderful food, love the fish tacos and the BLTs. Gorgeous setting on the lake. Clean wonderful casual atmosphere.
lovely place to walk, bike, paddle, or lounge
Best lake in the Twin Cities! Perfect size to walk around...near to great food, coffee, and ice cream. Kayak rentals are great! Good place for kids, bike rides and a bit of nature amidst a city plan!
It's a lovely spot to spend the day, whether you're playing on the field, sitting by the lake, or grabbing a snack!!
Loved it so beautiful
Nice place to spend a Saturday afternoon
I love walking around Lake Nokomis. If you time it right you get to enjoy the sunset!!
Grat place for a quick run in the morning! Only 2.5 miles around. One bike path, and separate walking/running path. Very peaceful.
Unfortunately closed for Ecoli contamination. Hopefully it will reopen soon
Great place to spend the day with the kids. Restaurant for food and beverages close by. Boat and bike rental also close.
Very clean, sandy and well maintained
Great beach. Clean. Plenty of pay parking in lot and free parking in the street. Limited jungle gym equipment at the beach. Paddle boat and canoe rental and concessions nearby.
Triathlon TRS happened, perfect weather , extremely clean
Life is good
Fun place. Good for everyone. It's not good that the park is so flooded though. There are carp spawning in the dandelions ... ridiculous. Park Department needs to understand why so little drainage.
Very clean beach. A lot of fun happy people hanging out there.
Rented kayaks, super friendly and helpful guys. Had a blast!
Love it...but LIFE GUARDS NEED TO INFORCE NO DOGS RULE....
There beach was pretty clean and there's a bunch to do there.
It's a beach idk what you expect
It's a great place to walk your dogs on a beautiful day. Used to ride my bicycle to lake nokomis once or twice a day in the summer to swim on the dock that was at the big beach back in the sixties was a wonderful experience
So much fun
Nice place to play with kids
Great place to swim. Also nice to just relax and people watch. Seems to always be very clean with very little litter.
Good fishing an awesome
It was so fun and deep, cool rocks and fish
The quietest of the Minneapolis lakes. Nokomis is an absolute gem. Beaches, walking paths, bike paths, kayak and canoe rentals, sailing and even cold beer and ice cream. All without the extreme busyness of Calhoun and Harriet.
Lake Nokomis Main Beach is great place to hang out and get some fresh air
Great beach for swim and families
The best beach/lake in South Minneapolis!
Great walking paths around the lake.
This is one of my favorite places for a sunset and a for nice corfull morning. Love it!
It's pretty. There's a good restaurant nearby. Its easy to get to.
I don't go to the main beach. We usually use one of the access points on the north end near the dock
Friendly fun place with sun and shade.
Always when there as a child now my children go there as well.
We are lucky to live so close to the lake. Great mix of people from across the area. The big beach has a more gradual entry into the water than the small beach which gets deeper faster.
This is a great place to go kayaking. It is a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city that is not too far away.
Amazing place if you go by yourself or with people. Very kids friendly and safe. There is a minimum of 5 lifeguards on duty and it's very efficient. Clean and organized. There are showers, bathrooms and changing rooms.
This lake is close to both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Its not as busy, as Calhoun or Harriet. Bathrooms on both sides. Water an both sides. You can bike the 3 mile path. Or walk the 2.68 mile path. I recomend it!
Really nice Beach, clean and nice walking trail
Very nice beach. The cost of food is high though. I also love walking around the lake. Such a nice walk.
We enjoyed the walk around the lake.
Lake Nokomis is a beautiful lake with a bike, jogging and biking trail. It's about 3.2 miles around with lots of fishing and water activities. It's also pet friendly . Very peaceful.
Things are shaping up nicely. Beach is clean and water looks fantastic but is still pretty refreshing.
On the hard water for the US pond hockey championships! Great day with temps around 5-10 degrees. Fun time
Love it here! So many great events in the summer!
Very nice beach
Because you can take your kids and stay for hours. Letting them swim and play. And you can enjoy ducks and the company of other people.
Super clean and friendly place. Love the sands & play ground.
I love this lake because the sand is very fine
Nice lake. Great place to go hang out and chill, go kayaking, swimming
Nice beach. Lifeguards. Treats nearby. Pay to park.
It’s a great beach with plenty of space! They do safety checks every few hours which is great! Lots of trails near by for biking or running! There is a great cafe on the beach too that serves great food! Always a good time at this beach!
Nice place to barbecue and swim. Plenty of activities for children. You have to pay for parking though.
Love this place and the view !
Sad but sure not like it use to be
DELICIOUS food at the Sandcastle restaurant. Some beach goers do a terrible job of keeping it clear. Shame on them
Good lake
We had s picnic here. The kids swam at the beach. then we rented the 4 person bike and single quad bike and rode around the lake. It was a blast. Very nice park. You can buy food here too and they have bathrooms
My favorite beach spot in south mpls
I love the addition of Sand Castle restaurant. A little pricey when you add kids to the bill, but the location is nice to sit by Nokomis, follow it up with a walk and take in the beauty of the area (with the occasional sound of the nearby airport). Still a nice gem of a lake in the middle of the city with plenty of places to sit with nice views.
Its a great lake. Nice concessions and rentals. To bad it was contaminated with E. Coli.
Overcrowded and not the best places to experience the beautiful lake
Beautiful; but alot of rules.
It has everything you want in a beach. Great sun angle and food and adult beverages.
Renting a bike for the family and going around the lake is just beautiful and priceless!
Nice beach, usually a little busy
This is a very well maintained and nice beach with a small food vendor that is staffed in the warm months. I was a little disappointed dogs can't go here though, but I suppose it makes it significantly easier to keep clean. Besides, my dark furred pooch would probably roast on the sand without any sort of umbrella.
A very nice spot to lay back and enjoy the sun. Water is always nice and nothing's better that being next to a spot with great refreshments. 10/10 in my book.
Great amount of boat and kayak rentals. Has shower rooms. There has been a lifeguard on duty every time ive been during the day. Oprn fields for baseball and soccer as well. Best of all. Its within walking distance of Fat Lorenzos pizzaria and gelato. Its like a lake of cheese and ice cream just south of the water lake.
Can be busy, but it is a large beach with nice sand. Small cafe right there too.
Wonderful place to go
Just got done playing a kickball game. The field was in really good condition
I loved the end of this day cause way fair was way heavy and it was cold as hell out so no beach sand or sun just cold bluster and minus 32 temps wout the wind icey babe icey
Peaceful and familiar environment, activities on the lake like canoing, kayaking, biking. Has lots of parking, and spaces for grilling. kids, pets friendly
Lake Nokomis is just one of the beautiful urban lakes in Minneapolis.
Great view of the Lake. You can also wade in the water, swim or kayak. There are Concession Stands for food and beverages. Also benches to sit on or just play on the clean, sandy beaches. Enjoyed and highly recommend it.
I've lived in MPLS for 7 years and frequented this beach every summer. Its a great beach, with now a great food establishment as well.
Great place for nude swimming. Even in October!!!
Good place for walking or biking. Gets crowded at times. The beach is great for kids. Needs better service at snack shop.
Way way way way better when the lifeguards aren't around. People having fun and using floaties. It's great. No safety breaks either.
Nice walk around the lake, lot is summer activities (kayak, paddle board, fish)
Nice beach for swimming and boating. Plus lots of parking available!
Good area for family fun.
Nice but crowded
I wish there was a playground here for kids to play on like most other lakes have (see the lake Hiawatha park down the way for an example). Other than that it's a decent place to relax or to exercise. Hopefully they will add more things conducive to family activities of all ages in the near future!
Needs some updates along the walking paths.
Bad pavement For walking and bicycle also dirty smelly restrooms
Great place to people watch in activities
It's nice but last time I was there a kid threw a rock at my head so...
Love this beach! Been coming here 48 years and now my granddaughter is experiencing the fun! Great people and fantastic lifeguards!
It's all right there for you. Great beach and food and simple parking.
Great city parks I used 43 years policed needed yes 4All .
Lots of shady spots, good food and beer options, super convenient with ample parking.
This got to be by far the worst Beach.
As an experienced swimmer, I do not stay within the beach swim bouys. So after returning from my swim, I was threatened with a $2500 ticket by a lifeguard. I left
Beach is fine, planes are loud. The lake is lovely.
There are quite a few bad eggs that bring portable sound systems out blaring explicit material and have no regard for you young ones. If your without children by all means good outing.
The beach was nice but what we really enjoyed was the long walking trail.
Crowded during weekends but much calmer and pretty
I loved the open lake for paddleboarding!
One of my favorite lakes. Some walking paths are still flooded that go around the lake as of 6-2-19. There are detours that make everyone share the bike paths togeather. So that can make it a little congested, and dangerous if your not careful.
Nice local beach. Really good walking paths
Cleanest beach in mpls! Sandy bottom Great life gaurds swim out raft
Beautiful!
Nice for a good swim
Nice lake with lots of room for activities. They have a small park on the beach for kids and have baseball fields and lots of open area. 2.5 miles around.
A beautiful and peas full resort lage with many atraction. Including swimming, walking around the lake trails, and beautiful panoramic vew of Downtown.
Great place to meet new people
Lots of children and teenagers. Not too bad but if you want something less hectic, go to the small beach.
This place is pretty hit or miss, depending on the day. Sometimes it's a nice wonderful walk around the lake, or it can be a nightmare with every misquote within a 10 block radius giving you malaria whilst the smell of rotting fish overwhelms the nostrils and makes your eyes water in pain.
My family loves Lake Nokomis. It is our favorite of the Twin Cities lakes. The main beach is sandy and clean with a small playground for any kids that might want to take a break from swimming. It can get busy on weekends, though, so if you want smaller crowds there is a smaller but more muddy beach to the east (still great swimming!). The walking and biking trails are generally more relaxed and family-friendly than at the other lakes, and the small beach-side restaurant, Sandcastle, is a great spot to grab a bite and watch the water, as well. Even though we moved away from the metro area, we still make a point of coming back to Nokomis a several times a summer.
This is a beautiful beach with nice facilities and stone great food options. There is a lot if picnic tables and grassy areas, including ball fields. They also host the YWCA Triathalon which it has a great setup for.
Good site seeing plus tons to do
The bikes are a blast. The trail around the lake can easily be completed with a one hour rental
Really nice beach and quite busy. Good beach for a family.
Diverse. Peaceful spot.
The beach was great, but the ice cream was not so great. Overall I would say 3 1/2 stars...
Great mpls spot to enjoy what the city has to offer
The BEST TIMES happen here
Gotta get to the Lymphomathon!
Amazing.
Yes beautiful lake for walking round of the lake
It is a very nice beach. Lots of rental activities a place to change and good food
Great place to relax!!
Nokomis is beautiful in the early evening.
Decent beach but it was so flooded you can't see any sand!
It's a fairly busy beach on a small, fairly busy and somewhat murky lake. There's usually a life guard on duty who will stop you from swimming across the lake. The sand is shallow but clean and the water is usually pretty warm, as the lake isn't very deep.
Very disappointing. I just wanted a place to park by the lake and sit in my car but found out the parking lot is a pay lot. Had to park out on the street. Good thing I was before 9 am on a gloomy Saturday morning or the side streets would be full.
I'm partial to the felt side of nokomis smaller Beach but also less of a crowd and they have a diving platform on the Southside
This is a fun spot to walk around, hang out and explore. Good concessions.
Nice enjoyable walk, lots of did walkers, but the dogs are on leashes.
I am a little biased as today was not the ideal day for an event at Lake Nokomis as they prepare for YMCA event there tomorrow. It was however a beautiful lake/beach location convientantly located near many roads and fairly centrally located in the city. The amenities were great, food and recreational water rental stands that were well kept.
Lots of young bodies on the beach.
Very busy place, we didn't swim but had a nice walk around the lake.
Great park to relax at or go swimming.
Beautiful and peaceful great way to end a day. The lake was perfect.
Always kept clean. Actual bathrooms and showers available. Small food stand available if you didn't pack a lunch.
Lots of friendly people. Plus there's all different kinds of dogs
Nice park. Watched a couple friends do the YWCA triathlon. Lake looks a little green though. I might be spoiled by growing up around the clearer lakes of northern Minnesota.
To many alligators to be considered a “safe” beach. Also got a ticket for using my kite made from plastic wal-mart bags. I guess kites need to have a string!
Why go home! Stay a bit longer!
The food at the cantina is great. If you want to swim across the lake, come Tuesday night at 5:30. Even though it isn't particularly close to home, this is my family's go to beach
Love our Minnesota lakes even on the single digits.
Nice beach n nearby ice cream parlor
I never have seen a hockey game played before! But watching the pond hockey game was a game changer! Loved every minute and I’m buying tickets to a wild gand
Very nice place
Great family entertainment
