At this moment this business gets a rating of 4.7 stars over 5 and the score has been calculated on 422 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is almost the highest, and it's based on a high number of scores, so we may conclude that the valuation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to value when they are pleased, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to give opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Park is included in the category of State park.
Its was a long hike to see the infamous Devils kettle with a mile walk into the woods and a mile back to your vehicle. Yes, it's a two mile in total hike including a flight of stairs. Make sure to bring water. Highly suggest staying on the trails to not damage the vegetation and so you dont get lost. The wood are beautiful as the rushing river echoes through the woods. I highly suggest!!
Good hike to devil's kettle falls. Expect a bit of a climb on th way back owing to the hundred odd steps that you'll have to climb. If you want to get the most out of this place, do get down till the river where the water falls into it. If you're a good swimmer, you might even wanna take a dip in the water and have a casual swim :) PS - my friends did it, so I know it's safe. But be careful to not jump in the with too many clothes on (especially not jeans!).
Great state park. Loved the Devil's Kettle Hike. Roughly 2miles round trip. Lots of stairs right before the falls that you have to go down and then back up but there are benches to stop and take breaks if needed. Seeing Devil's Kettle is well worth the stairs if you like waterfalls and hiking!
Great hike and awesome waterfalls!
Scenic hiking along the river to the Devils Kettle. No electricity hookups at campground. Park clean and well kept. Nice picnic area by the river. Check-in station was not staffed during our visit.
Amazing.....minus the 175 stairs...
Loved the walk out to the Devil's kettle. Just be aware of the ~150+ stairs to get to the falls. If you are not good with stairs then you should not attempt this short two mile walk round trip.
We are not regular hikers getting up in our middle ages and found the hike and stairs well worth it. The falls were spectacular!! You can easily take the steps at your own pace with many rest stops/benches along the way. We did it in less than two hours.
We couldn't get internet or a phone signal despite our 200.00 booster...But its otherwise a nice place.
Amazing
Lovely fall colors.
Beautiful park anytime of the year. Have been there several times and now returning with the grandkids for another memorable time.
Seriously the best hike I've been on in a long time. what's the first time I'd ever been up there at Devil's Kettle did not disappoint. The stairway down was absolutely one of my favorite parts
Gorgeous waterfalls! This is an uphill apprx 1.5 mile hike with a set of 175 steps. Wear good shoes. It could be considered rigorous, definitely not an "easy stroll" and it's not close by. Path is narrow and rocky. Bring bug spray!
Very well kept campsite. They have showers and bathrooms, clean water, and fire rings. The campsites are pretty close together but that wasn't really a problem. Devils kettle hiking trail is just down the road too. They have a wifi hotspot at the dnr employees lodge if you need it. I would stay again
We stayed here for a couple nights while visiting the area, the campground itself isn't much for the price you pay ( including Minnesota park pass price) sites are small, without electric or water at site, but the bathroom and showers were always kept immaculate. The park staff here were absolutely amazing and bent over backwards to help my parents when they had trouble with their camper, doing anything possible to make their stay better. The falls were beautiful, probably one of my favorites I've ever seen. We will be back to the North shore!
The Devills Kettle? That is all I can say absolutely beautiful in nature!
Beautiful park. Peaceful camp sites.
The steps wasn't that bad @189. We'll worth it
Amazing waterfall. Beautiful hike through the woods
Great hiking, Devils Kettel. 185 stairs just beautiful along with water fall
Nice falls & Devil's Kettle is cool - but man it's a tough hike when you're out of shape. Lots of uphill walking, then over a hundred stairs to climb. Benches along the way (even on the stairs) for little rest spots. Bring water.
Gorgeous MN State Park! Lovely hiking trails - beautiful views - go see Grand Portage State Park too!
All through Minnesota the people have been nice sweet friendly. But here, the were so weird had to keep the doors locked....? What is going on?
Gorgeous view, worth the hike!
Fine enough state park near the border. The campsites are a little close together, and there's no groomed spot to pitch a tent. Other than that facilities were nice, and it's up kept fairly well.
Park was beautiful. Park staff were closing the office at 415 when it regularly closes at 5 and told us to see the host for our campsite number or to go online. The park has no phone service nor does the area around it and they had not yet given the host the campsite listings for the evening. We had to wait 45 minutes to receive our previously reserved campsite number when they brought it to the host.
Beautiful scenery
Great park. Relatively small, mostly quiet. Not very good cell signal.
Devils Kettle trail is beautiful!
The least developed of the parks I visited today. But, it was the trail and Devils Kettle waterfall that brought me here. It was rather cool, but if time is limited it could be better allocated at one of the other parks along the north shore. The view to the waterfall is a little distant.
It's pretty cool
I've had my eye on this place for a long time, and was very excited to see Devils Kettle falls. It sounded more mysterious before they figured out where the water went, but it was still neat to see. The water was running pretty high, so high that my husband didn't even realize that some of the water was disappearing until I told him. I was nervous after reading about all the stairs and the strenuous walk, but we didn't think it was that bad.
Very scenic park. Worth the trip.
See the Devil's kettle! It's wonderful!
Love this park! Great hiking, beautiful scenery, woods, water, wildlife..... Easy trails and challenging trails. Been there many times over the years and more so this last couple years.
A beautiful campsite and many hiking options. Close enough to both Grand Marais and Grand Portage so you aren’t without resources. Gets quiet pretty early in the night which is super nice. The campsites are well kept even down to the bathrooms. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because even though it was between 50 and 65 degrees outside, there were SO many gnats and no matter how much bug spray, citronella candles, and campfires you have, they will not leave you alone. We got obliterated by swarms of gnats and mosquitos and came home with plenty of aggressively itchy bites. It’s nothing that the park can probably control but be prepared to deal with them.
The Devil's Kettle is such a cool waterfall! The hike is totally worth it. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and maybe even bring water. We managed without, but some may like having it. It was absolutely beautiful in the fall with the leaves changing colors.
It has the mysterious devil's kettle waterfalls. Too good to explain. One needs to experience. Must visit place if driving on the north shore.
Ventured here to see Devil's Kettle. The hike contains many steps, but is worth the effort. If you're an adept hiker then keep going down the trail for an amazing hike.
Great for an after lunch hike!
Nice and quiet campsite was a little tight with the neighbors but still was a good stay. Devils Kettle was worth the hike.
Camped here overnight. The bathrooms were quite decent for a campsite of this level. The trail is all up hill then down a long flight of stairs to the falls. You can get somewhat close but you will get a nice mist on you just sitting on the rocks nearby.
Love it. It worth the hike
Devil's Keetle was cool, but the hike was a bit more than we bargained for. The good news was it made all the others seem easy by comparison.
The campsites were not secluded, which was fine but fyi in case that's important to someone. There was firewood available for sale and the park rangers were super nice. The bathroom/showers were clean and in good condition. Very scenic!
Beautiful park. If you are considering the campsites, the facilities are nice. They have showers and are kept clean, even the outhouses. Plenty of fishing opportunities in walking distance in the nearby streams. Nice trails. Lake access a few miles south is the closest we could find.
Very educational! The people very friendly and informative
Hiked to devil's kettle, a little buggy, but worth it!
Very busy, still worth it.
Wonderful place to visit. Grand kids had great time, sights are amazing
A must see in MN! We met a beaver along the way! Reginald Beaverton was his name!
A long tough hike to Devil's Kettle.
Really nice
Great hiking!
This is a great Minnesota State Park. Beautiful waterfalls and streams. Nice hiking trails. Lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery throughout.
Fun hiking, and easy access. Lots of stairs if you want to hike to Devil's Kettle. Be prepared for that. But they have a lot of rest stations to take breaks.
Beautiful park! The hiking can be a little taxing with all the stairs, but well worth it. I stopped to camp a few days after the showers were advertised to be on, but they were still closed. That's understandable, but perhaps the website should have also been updated. The campground price is advertised as $17 on the check-in board but is actually $23. Not a big deal, but should be updated.
Devil's Kettle well worth the hike
Awesome spot! Quieter North Shore area. Busy by noon in summer.
Beautiful but very long way and alot of stairs
Lots of stairs and uphill hike. Use a walking stick and take your water bottle. Also black flies are horrible there.
Nice hiking trail in, going up the trail before going down the stairs. Provided a nice walk out down the trail after the stairs going back up!
nice place nice park host awesome areas to hike I would come back here in a heartbeat
The kettle is an awesome site. If you are a risky hiker, you can go about 20 ft. Orth of the kettle on the trail, jump down on some rocks and hop from one to another you can get right next to the falls. It is a little Dangerous because a fall from there would not be good. The hike down the stairs is something you must be in shape for. There are close to 100 stairs and it is a steep drop. However, there are a few benches you can take a break on if need be.
Get those legs ready for stairs, stairs, and more stairs! Nice trails, clean park, great views and dog friendly.
The falls, the hiking tails
Amazing hiking trails, beautiful country.
Glad to finally make it to this park. Good long walk to the Devil's kettle. A nice elevation change and a long staircase to get there. Very beautiful river that flows into Superior and picturesque all the to the lake
Great hike to the kettle with my kids. Clean park, lots to see and seeing the falls is awesome inspiring.
Nice trails, scenery.
The Devil’s Kettle is one of the main attractions, but don’t skip the upper and lower falls either!
Loved our stay here! Great waterfalls and hiking.
One of the best trails to Devil's Kettle!! Very rustic!! Even better if go when overcast in the spring!! Loved it!! Believe It!!
This place is magic, amazing
Beautiful place. Fairly easy hike. Said 1 mile loop to the kettle but it was a lot longer than that, closer to 3 miles round trip. You have multiple places to stop and rest with benches. A number of nice viewing platforms spaced well. And the kettle is really cool (where does it go!? Lol). Did not see all the park had to offer, but what we did see was clean and well kept up.
I stayed overnight here! More details? Ok I pitched a tent here! Most camp site are a little too open but lots to see and do in and around this park.
Nice Hike up to the kettle.
One of the best state parks in MN.
I visited this park so I could see the devils kettle falls. It was very breathtaking! I would say if you can't do stairs this is not a good hike for you as there are quite a bit of them. The Park it self has picnic areas and rv and tent campsites available as well.
Great hike to the falls.
Worth the effort to hike to the devils kettle
Amazing!
Love it! Small clean and waterfall is breathtaking. Super dark and quiet
You cant find a bad view! A must see!!!!!!
What a great hike with an amazing reward with the Devil's Kettle. We went when it was raining and the trails were still in great shape! Very solid and well maintained.
One of my favorite state parks to visit, I've been there twice now. The devil's kettle is definitely worth checking out. The hike to go see it isn't too difficult, it's a two mile round trip. The entire hike is either uphill, or downhill, there is no flat ground. The waterfalls are more than worth every step.
Devil's Kettle Falls was so fun to hike around. Lots of stairs, but otherwise an easy hike.
Beautiful!
Stopped on a whim. I was wanting to go do this hike with my husband, but I was with my 4 year old daughter and I just stopped. I saw it was only a mile hike to the falls. I thought no big deal -and we went. She loves nature and walking! Well she did great with all her energy! Me, not as well. So worth it. After we did it I saw the sign warning it is strenuous.
Devils kettle is a great short hike.
Showers are lousy, spots are good for tent campers or small rv.. some can be difficult to back into.
It's far away, but worth every step you take in the park, beautiful
Absolutely beautiful! One we will visit again
More stunning wide open spaces great place to visit
Drove by this place. Didn't stop in but we were there in the past only to take a breather
Great hike. The best memories.
Good hike options. Sturdy shoes recommended. Perfect in Fall if you like mixture colours.
Ok
Great park with nice trails. Devil's keetle is a short but beautiful hike with some elevation. Access to Superior hike trail. There is a self pay station with maps available when the park office is closed.
Excellent....easy hiking and challenging hiking! Awesome place.....will be back...many, many times!
Relaxing and quiet campground. Clean bathrooms
You get the chance to see 2 waterfalls here. The Devils kettle is a sight to see with all the mystery behind it. The hike is only a mile but has lots of slopes. Not recommended if you're looking for a leisurely stroll.
Beautiful but lots of elevation changes on the hike to the falls
Interesting fact... Used to be WPA camp in the 1930s
I enjoyed all of trails here, including the Devil's Kettle Falls. The trail can get a little muddy along the Brule river if the conditions are right. This is a good place to hike if you are up in the north woods.
This is a must do hike for any visitor. Round trip hike to Devil's Kettle is just under 3 miles.
The Devil's Kettle hike is so gorgeous! The trees have grown quite a bit this year and so the view is somewhat limited. If you have any questions or aren't quite sure where to go the park rangers at the entrance are very nice and will help you out. There is a second outlook once you get to the Devil's Kettle that gets you a little bit closer to the upper falls.
Great hike and beautiful falls. Devil's Kettle is a must see!
Amazing camping place. Quite and very clean
You have to go see the Devil's Kettle
My husband and I went to the park during the peak leaf color weekend, one of the busiest times of the year. We actually overshot the park as we thought there would be a sign along the highway saying Devil's Kettle but there is not. When we arrived, the entrance was unattended and the maps were all gone. Many visitors were confused as to how to pay the park entrance fee of $5.00. Once we drove into the park, however, there was a ranger in the parking lot happily ticketing visitors who did not properly display the fee stub on the windshield. All that aside, the one-mile trek to the Devil's Kettle is absolutely worth the fee and the up and down of all the steps along the way, which I counted to be about 300. Just remember you will have to climb up and down those same steps on the return trip. You can also access the park legally on foot without paying a fee via an entrance across the highway from Nanaboujou Resort.
Loved the stairs and the views!
A great park. A nice 1 mile hike to see a beautiful water fall. This park also has good access to some great sections of the superior hiking trail. The campground is average.
In this park you can see 2 waterfalls and there is camping and lots of trails to hike. . The falls are mile hike, you will see Upper falls first and then 700 ft more going further up you will be able to see the Devils Kettle. It’s absolutely beautiful. Just past the platform where you can take pictures you will see the flattening of the river and walk over down stream a little and put your feet in the water or get in all the way, trust me it felt good to cool off after that long hike. Warning the hike to these falls is a good packed down path, however you are constantly going up hill until you reach stairs and then it’s 175 steps down, once down you’ll see another set of steps, about 6 steps that leads to rock platform to see upper falls, right at the small step of steps you will see a sign with arrow stating Devils Kettle 700ft upward. Depending on good of shape you are in will depend on how fast you can walk a mile in a up hill terrain. Just take some water with you, you’re going to get a good workout.
Wonderful experience!
Devil's kettle trail was wonderful, if a bit rough on my out of shape body. Would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful part of the country.
It was beautiful and so worth the hike to see the beautiful falls
Getting to the Devil's Kettle is not to Devilish. A good hike up and down but well worth the effort.
I only hiked the trail to Devil's Kettle, and it was outstanding.
Fantastic park. Great waterfall. Near nanabouju lodge which is a must see. One of the best walks off the North Shore
Breath taking views and hiking
How could you not love going to this place. It's beautiful and has such nice hiking trails. We like to visit here when we travel up the shore every year.
Hike to the falls.
Breath taking views. Great for hiking, be prepared for a lot of stairs :)
Devils Kettle is one of the marvelous site in the country, I try to do an yearly trip up to the park, but I admit due to having to stop a a lot of the great state parks in the region, we don’t always make it to this one yearly.
Great, unpaved trails!!
I like this Campground. Nearby waterfall a d hiking trail makes this Campground very attractive. Bathroom is clean a d well maintained. Lot of options for hiking a d canoeing. Close to the famous nanibouju loadge.
It is an absolutely beautiful place. Great park for wildlife. A bear actually crossed the path ahead of me while I was hiking.
Amazing hiking and beautiful falls. Loved catching the mist off the falls after a long trek up and down the stairs. The park provides walking sticks which is a nice touch. Primitive camping and toilet facilities also available. Highly recommended!
Haven't explored much other than the hike to Devil's Kettle, but great park.
Don't miss this one.
Great hiking. You'll want spikes or snow shoes in winter for the stairs to devil's kettle
I really enjoyed hiking in the park
i’ve been waiting to go here for almost 3 years and i was so happy to finally get to it! very long hike with lots of stairs to get to the kettle but once you’re there you will not regret it!
Very nice park with good hiking to beautiful waterfalls.
We love the hike out to Devil's Kettle
Remote campground. No water, electric, or dump station. Road is rough. Price is good.
Beautiful, peaceful place.
A must visit for hiking on the north shore! Spectacular water fall views. Hiking Club and Passport Club members here, and we had a great time!
Beautiful area. The Devil's Kettle trail was fun. Lots of pine needles all over the place.
Really good hiking trail to devils kettle falls
Easy and beautiful trek
Cozy campground with awesome hikes. The Superior Hiking Trail runs through the park. Trail Includes vertigo inducing stairs down to the Upper Falls and on to Devil's Kettle on the Brule River. Nice forest bathing with largest cedar
Back to nature with the beautiful falls. Make sure you take your bug spray!!
A good distance walk for us and the dogs. Beautiful views. Cliff edges scared me sometimes!
Great hiking!
Beautiful place to visit
We enjoyed the beauty and campground of Magney State Park. Waterfalls and good hiking trails filled up a day of exploring. It is located equally between Grand Marais and Grand Portage. So there is lots to see and do. The campground is basic. Sites have no electric power or water. But they are clean and spacious. Sites 20 and 21 are quite nice and roomy for big RVs.
Amazing water falls. So worth the stairs and the hike to see.
Nice 2 mile hike to see high falls and devils kettle falls.
Great hiking trails and water falls. Be prepared to hike some stairs!
We camped a few nights here and found it to be a good location for venturing into Canada and to some other state parks. It is quiet, beautiful, and clean. We will stay here again.
Very nice state park for hiking and seeing the Devil's kettle. I haven't camped here yet so my review is based on the hiking areas. There's a nice "self guided tour" on the other side of the park with a quick loop to read about some natural plants in the area and observe the beautifully kept forest.
One destination State Park. Wide well maintained trail up to the waterfall. Lovely two mile round trip.
Hands down my favorite state park
Great park. Despite having campsites near each other we didn't feel too close to others, and having showers was wonderful after two nights elsewhere without them.
Great state park! The campground is good with good shower facilities. There isn't a park office, so go to the camp host if you need help. Be sure to check iut Devil's Kettle Falls!
