Overall we enjoy the experience. Great location. The facilities are well maintained. The Beach area is not the best around. Be prepared to walk to reach the beach. The Canal is very accessible. For this place to get a 5 from me they need better customer service, better communication and to be more friendly.
Excellent service from start to finish. Honest and knowledgeable people with a fireplaces, fireplace inserts and wood stoves that fit everyone's taste and budget. I refer all my friends and family to Alan Oldfield.
How is in the world this place even exist! Or existing with a bunch uneducated patrol and it’s leader! I was on my electric scooter
No traffic,The tide was out and the ocean temp was perfect!! Oh and not crowded on a Friday visit. Bathrooms we're good, showers outside. And food and dessert. Playground on site also. Wonderful visit!!! Live only 11 mins from this beach. Very family oriented.
One of the best places on the planet. The campground is clean, kept up and relatively quiet. Taking a wonderful stroll along the Cape Cod canal is a must see. If you are an RV'er... MAKE RESERVATIONS!!! This place sells out fast and early. But make sure you go!
Excellent, clean beach and camper area. Lots of families and a great place for the kids
Expensive If u just want to park and fish. Plus if you are looking to fish the peir on the canal it's a ZOO. I personally avoid this area, or just bike in from from other spots on Canal
Wonderful
Nice place great views worth the trip
Took the kids to explore scusset beach, for future fishing. And We loved it. So many fishing spots. The beach was awesome, too. Kids loved it.
The people were awesome and the beach is very nice the camp ground allows animals
Large, clean, family friendly beach. Attached rv park. Lifeguards. Snack bar. Bathrooms/showers. Plenty of parking. Clear water.
Best Beach on the upper Cape. Joe was a great supervisor. We miss him.
Definitely need to have Cleaner Bath Houses. I realize that it's Hard to Accomplish a Clean Bath House., but went a Person is in need of a bath House, it's Bad. .
Beautiful scenery!! Definitely going back.
Nice beach. A little bit of a walk but worth it. Always gorgeous views.
Great place to bbq and swim
Great location, friendly people, and dog friendly walking with frequent dog facilities and water buckets.
I love this place
This place is such a great spot to check out and sit Canalside under a beautiful tree or directly in the sunshine. I've posted pictures in Google check them out.
Beautiful place for early morning walks on the beach.
Best place to catch striped bass
Lots of space, free parking, and a playground. Perfect!
Love this campground. Right near the beach and the canal
We love Scusset. It's very relaxing. You can go fishing, bike riding, walking etc on the canal road. We're close to many other towns if we want to go enjoy.
Be careful going there! Worker there will come and picking at you for a lot the reasons that they will make up!
Good beach
Nice beach, obnoxious people.
Great staring point for the Canal path
Beautiful Beach great views; however I don't go in the water past my ankles due to a recent influx of shark activity in the area!
Went at night the stars were unbelievable. Nice beach!!
It's beautiful!
very nice, clean and restrooms and food
Love it! Not ideal for swimming, but walking on the jetty is always enjoyable. The beach is beautiful.
Clean and beautiful
Scusset Beach is a very clean Beach that's before the Sagamore bridge so you don't get the heavy traffic of the cape. There is bathrooms and showers both outside showers and indoor showers that are nice and clean. They have a snack bar but bring your own food as well because if it's inclement weather they may be closed and they may not be open every day during the week they serve typical ice cream you would get on an ice cream truck and then things like hot dogs hamburgers chicken tenders and then a few healthy options. The campground is wonderful that is right next door to it however you do need to book in most cases 6 months before you're planning on going as it books up quickly. The camping sites all have water and electricity with the exception of the 5 tent sites.
Really pretty area. The beach is nice to swim. Polite people. Reservation is not as big as I hoped. I would of liked more walking areas. Not good area for shell collecting or rock collecting. This is more of a place to relax on beach and swim. One thing I did enjoy is walking on jetty. At the end of the jetty was a marker tower. Which is nice place to get selfies or pics with family.
Beautiful fine sand beach on Mass Bay.
Excellent place l loved
One of my favorite beaches in New England
Great beach!
Im never paying to get harassed again. Has signs everywhere saying that it's unguarded by lifeguards, but they do have lifeguards. which is normally a good thing but they're the rudest people I've ever met! We really didn't even have to meet, went out of their way to be rude. Lifeguards shouldn't be allowed to have Kayaks if they're not going to be gentle/careful. You can't just run into people/paddle without looking. It's a swim beach there are people & children everywhere in the water it's not safe for everybody if you're not going to be careful. She(life guard) got defensive and spiteful (she even harassed us on foot later on dry land later in the day, shouldn't you be watching the kids and water???) and called Beach Patrol on us and told Beach Patrol we were intoxicated when I asked her to be more careful around people with the boat. So then they threatened(Beach Patrol) to make me dismantle all my things and go through all of my stuff and threatened to call the police if I didn't let them go through all of my stuff(all of our beach bags/ backpacks / purses.) All because I told the lifeguard that she needs to be more careful around civilians! one comment in the water to a lifeguard about safety was enough to make all of this happen. How petty. Obviously Beach Patrol was satisfied and found nothing or I'd probably be in jail considering the hostility. I don't have anything worth searching its just all beach stuff. It was all out of spite. the Lifeguard intentionally did it to ruin the day for us because I asked her to be careful. As if I'm the one hitting people with a kayak!? It is such a shame it was such a hassle because the beach itself is nice but it is not worth being put through all of that for trying to use the water safely. You have to pay to get in and Im never paying to get harassed again there are plenty of other beaches in the area that have never put me through anything like this.
My home away from home
Great place to walk the dog. Nice wide trails
Very nice sandy beach. A bit of a walk from the parking lot but not too bad. Beautiful views from the jetty. Definitely will be back.
Beautiful beach, long walk from parking lot though.
Just love being by the ocean.
Scusset Beach is a beautiful area. Nice sites. However, there is a severe lack of maintenance especially given that it is a STATE PARK and we pay a decent fee for only W/E. For example, over at the basketball area there are condom wrappers. The swings are so loud squeaking from lack of lubrication maintenance that it is disturbing from inside my closed up RV. People have been on these swings after quiet hours. As they should be, but without disturbing everyone. There is not enough enforcement for dogs being left off leash and unattended. Owners with Small friendly dogs does not mean they should have this privilege. Leaving us responsible dog owners to not be able to have our own dogs out on our site on leash. Too expensive for no full hook up for state residents.
My favorite fishing spot stop in hook a big one or take the bike path 7 miles long beautiful
My favorite beach to go to just relax. Very clean.
Great beach for swimming and just enjoying the beach. Not so good for fishing as the current in the channel is really strong but if you know what your doing they do pull nice strippers out all the time.
Very good but i was afraid to go to water because of sharks...
One of my favorite places on Earth. Beautiful and peaceful.
Love the ocean
It's so nice here
Nice place for fishing
Great location by canal and open ocean. Bid and beautiful camping sites. Huge parking lot. Showers and changing rooms for the beach.
Lots of parking, bathrooms and a snack bar
A nice clean beach on a beautiful sunny day.
First time at this beach. Loved it!
Beautiful beach. Clean. Showers. Restrooms. Snack bar.
Best beach ever
My new favorite place!
I went there on 30-March and since its before the season starts there weren't a lot of people there...I loved the beach and ppan to go back there for camping in summer.
Love it here, nice people, great area, lots to do and see
Well maintained and warm water when the sand bars come.
The water is so clean here, quite refreshing on a hot summer's day, at the mouth of the canal so expect cooler water temperatures. Clean facilities, snack bar, showers, and extensive parking.
Great place to new beginners to fish at the pier, won't get caught in the rocks
Clean, plenty of parking, snack shack and bathrooms, great beach!!
What a relaxing place to go to. Less crowded then most beaches around new Hampshire. Great environment for families .
It's okay could use some improvement cleaner water cleaner beaches and fish
Great beach with a nice view of the bay
Absolutely loved coming here for the first time a few days ago. Sand melted my sorrows away. Ha! Ha! Amazing views and even better with the jetty. Definitely coming back soon!
Love this beach! It gets crowded on a hot summer day, but it is mostly sandy and the waves are so small, it's great for kids. They have bathrooms, shower and changing areas. They also have a concession stand with a good variety of hot and cold foods and drinks. Lifeguards are on duty until 5:30 PM or so. They allow ball playing, but I think flotation devices are not allowed. No dogs are allowed on the state beach property, but there are a lot of dogs on the beach beyond the perimeter.
Always love Scusset, lovely sand, nice waves, and a comfortable walk to the beach with the boardwalk.
Nice & clean beach, and water was crystal clear! We loved swimming there. ❤️
Beautiful views,...a must see
The kids and love this place. The sand is nice. The kids love when the tide is low. We also love seeing the different boats that come out of the canal. I love that they have showers too
My favorite beach. The view is beautiful and I love watching the boats going in and out of the canal all day. They have changing rooms that are open pretty late. The snack bar makes great sandwiches and wraps and really good breakfast sandwiches on weekends.
Beautiful beach. Lots of people, but lots of room to spread out. The restrooms were pretty clean even at the end of the day. Parking is outrageous, but every beach is the same
Great beach!!! Pretty quiet beach right before the Cape Cod bridge. Don't get stuck in the traffic. Decent price for admission. They don't get very big waves, but if you're looking for a quite, solid beach to go to, this is it. Bathrooms are pretty clean, as is the beach overall. Does have a small shack for food; decent food, decent price, and good options.
Great beach. Clean and well maintained.
One of the nicest beaches in all of MA. The ride swings are amazing. Love the beach during low tide.
The fishing here is phenomenal I get down there every chance I can ...
Awesome place to be & enjoy the waters
Would be better with more campsite amenities, but not too bad. Bathrooms were very clean. Sites were decent.
Beautiful, scenic beach with good facilities and plenty of parking.
Beautiful beach. Clean restrooms make for a excellent beach day .
Nice place
Moon in the sky, crisp air, quiet area so you can hear the sound of the waves on the beach. It was just perfect.
Favorite beach on the south shore of Massachusetts. Has a long jetty going out into the water that's nice to walk on
I typically come here on the off seasons with my daughters a few times a year. We have been doing this for years. It's definitely not a beach for shelling, but its clean, soft sand, and peaceful. We have many memories from coming here. We usually come to see and take magnificent pictures of the breathtaking sunsets. Eady to get to. Lots of parking. Campground on site. Public bathrooms and showers as well as a snack bar.
Always a clean fun.beach to.visit.
It's a beautiful ocean View
Nice beach, calm water, nice, relatively new facilities, decent amount of parking
Nice sites. 50Amp electric hookups. Close to canal and beach. Biggest downer is no campfires at site but there is a "Community Fire Pit".
Great beach...
I have been going here for over 20 years. Father took me here when I was young and now I do the same with my child. Love walking the canal, going on the beach, or walking the path to where the old artillery used to be during the war. Awesome place to go to for some outdoor fun
Today was windy and the water was rough. So no whales today.
Very nice place to much money to park just to go to the beach or fishing
Nice rolling waves, plenty of beach sand and good seasonal facilities. There was a fair amount of seaweed...but it was windy and off season.
It was beautiful the breeze came you fall asleep
Had a great time
Very clean beach and camp ground. Highly recommend.
Good sand and clean beach
You can walk right on the Cape Co canal and Scusset Beach. Camp ground clean nice playground and bathrooms.
Its peaceful not to crowded it's just beautiful
Clean park, great access to fishing the canal and the bay
Great walking/running/bike path. Beautiful - along the Canal. Fishing. Nice clean restrooms.
Have a nice. Day with my lova
Fun place. Great beach and great fishing pier.
Easy access,clean bathrooms,warm water
Really nice place to spend the day. Swimming, Fishing, Hiking, or just hanging out. Great place to take the whole family. Crystal clear water, and a gorgeous beach with a huge Getty to fish off of that stretches about a half mile into the bay.
Great time everytime.
Great beach.
Peaceful and relaxing.
Absolutely beautiful ! And world class Striped Bass fishing !!!
nice, clean beach with calming water...not very wavy but the water is crystal clear and so refreshing!
I grew up here, and this is still one of the best places to come to just to walk the beach or sit on the jetty and watch the boats and birds. My favorite time to come is early morning or later in the day when it's not crowded, and I love coming during the winter months and checking out the birds.
Very clean,not rocky.
Nice area like beaching near the Jetty and the cape cod canal
Free access to public fish pier on the canal. Nice access with bike path running along canal. Beach parking $14.00, but didn't buck up and check it out. Was there to try fishing the canal. There's camping there too.
Awesome day at the beach with the kids
Pretty public beach
Wouldn't go again. Do you like paying money to see people almost hurt with a kayak? Ya well spent $14 and guess what folks? The none active.....or is it active "lifeguards" will patrol the waters for you in there kayak almost hitting you just to let you know you cant have a floating device. Very rude staff and just over priced. Save your money find a different beach
Beautiful Beach $14 for Mass resident $20 out of state
Beautiful, quiet, lovely!
Great place to camp cant go wrong for the price all sites are freshly paved and level and campground is dog friendly which isna huge plus... been camping here for years and will continue to.
Lovely beach. They keep the beach very clean. There is also a jedi you can walk for a breathtaking view. Overall amazing.
Great place for the family, we had a blast!
We had a great time hanging and learning from the locals fishing the pier and relaxing
One of my favorite places to go " ocean"!. Sitting at the scenic East end of the Cape Cod canal sunrises and sun sets are breathtaking. The beach is clean, the water pristine. On a good day you might see a cruise ship or perhaps a dolfin or seal passing thru the canal. Camping, fishing, hiking, biking or stargazing you can find peace and fun here.
My favorite beach in Massachusetts. It has vast beach space to accommodate visitors. Coast line is crispy and beautiful. The clear blue water is full of small marine life like hermit crabs, sand dollar, sea snails. Kids love this place. There is a snack bar with ice cream if you are hungry. After a long day on the beach you get to take a shower with warm water. What can be better than this?
Loved the Beach and Scenery. People were friendly. Most people were walking their dogs. It was a very peaceful day!
Great Family Beach!! Great place for Photography. Great Food Stand, Great Place for Fishing. Great Place to Spend the day.
Absolutely beautiful beach. Very clean. Big enough beach so people are not on top of one another. I will definitely be back!!
Great beach, for sunning, fishing or walking. Next to the Cape Cod Canal
Nice little Beach area inside of a state park. There's a playground next to the parking lot, as a plus for people camping and those taking a break from playing the water. At the beach, the water is as cold as sin. My toes went numb in seconds, and it wasn't the most pleasant feeling ever. Little kids were mostly hovering in the areas where the water had left little "lakes" behind--probably because the water was so cold. There aren't a lot of waves, but maybe that's influenced by high tide vs low tide. There is a life guard on duty, and she wasn't pleased that we brought a floaty for the baby and my two year old. She said it's against the rules--so my bad! But it's not like either kid really to immerse themselves in the cold water anyway. Overall, I give four stars because the kids still had a lot of fun playing, and there are some nice areas to walk around. However, don't go thinking the water is nice and warm. Even in 90 degree weather (which it was today), it's still super cold! But at least we burned some time and the kids had fun. There is also a little snack bar that sells food and slushies/ice cream. That was a great little perk. Summary: good place to do a variety of things minus actually swimming, unless you don't mind swimming in cold water. There are beaches further down the Cape that have much warmer water.
Great for fishing and family time. Restroom only open seasonal from 7:30am - 8pm.
Beautiful beach! Love the hetty. Bathrooms and showers! Great snack shack.
Great state park for camping and fishing
Beautiful beach wonderful day
Very nice beach and campground. Bathroom and bathhouse with access to the canal
Nice except rest rooms where not available.
Great beach and campground located on the east end of the Cape Cod Canal.
No need to go over the bridge when you have a beach as nice as this
Quiet little windy
Beautiful place to stroll, bike, or just hang out with the people you love. Or just enjoy the day
Greatest scenery around.
Such a beautiful beach. Always clean and pleasant. Hubby loves to fish there and kids enjoy climbing on the rocks and playing with all the cool playground equipment. Thank you :)
Arrived before close and was still denied permission to camp at tent sites. Reason being was I had arrived after free parking admission time. Their "preference" superceeded park rules and ultimately was the final decision. Drove 6 hours to make it on time just to be told NOPE!
Love open sky and quiet campground
Nice beach.... get there by 10am on weekends. They close the parking lot once full. Bath houses, bathrooms, and concessions available.
We were visiting from texas. It was a blast. Very nice beach. We will have to come back next tine we visit. They had a snack bar available also. And a sand volleyball.
Large sites and very clean and peaceful
Scusset beach has nice white sandy beaches and you can get to the canal jetti and watch ships going through the canal. Low tide goes way out and you can walk along the sand bars. There's camping just off the beach and concessions and bathrooms right by the water.
Great day with family. The beach is clean and has a good life guard presence. The park is easy to get around. The restrooms and outdoor showers were convenient and well maintained.
Beautiful sandy beach, nice view and has a snack bar and restrooms and shower
