Hiked here twice. Once in May and once in September. Beautiful forest with very old trees.

Wonderful state park with beautifully maintained campgrounds. Riverside sites, many options to choose from. Right off route 2, easily accessible. Friendly staff and affordable in and out of state rates for camping. Off season options available. Very nice for locals as well as out of towners. Highly recommend a day trip or even spending the night. each site comes equipped with a table and grill. Spacious spots with room for RV.

Not what it used to be. THIS was our favorite campground within 3 states... These days not so much. Rangers are hit or miss, some were very unfriendly. Check in - they are firm that you can not check in before 1PM ("because they have to clean the fire ring" and bear box") but that's a lie. Although we were 1/2 hour early we had to wait till a line had formed to check in at 1PM. The line is VERY slow. 15 minutes per car - ish. The bathroom has free showers but almost totally lacks hot water. The sites are good, especially good if you are on the river. The swimming "pool" is gross and covered in green stuff.

The Mohawk Trail State Forest is a great spot for camping, picnicking, swimming and hiking. We have stop here many times for picnics, to play in the Cold River or the swimming hole and camping a few times. There is a bathhouse there for changing if you don't want to put on your swimwear before you go there. It's one of our favorite places for a short day trip.

Not much to do. You can't swim in the swimming area. The so called pool is a puddlle very low water levels. Yes, bathrooms are clean but the showers are luke warm, muddy and you have to hold a button for water. Or worse wait in line. River is low. You would have to leave the campground to do anything fun, like swimming, fishing or tubing. Disappointed. And don't choose camp ground 32, it's the worst one in the whole camp ground.

Lovely, small, well forested campground and no big rvs which I appreciated. We stayed two nights and will definitely go back. Well kept facilities and relatively quiet overall. I loved the woods!

Absolutely beautiful! Loved the hiking and the falling asleep to the burbling Cold River. The rangers are friendly and helpful. All the facilities are clean and well maintained. Thanks for a great trip! Pro-tip: the directions from the south and east on Google Maps are not correct. Don't take 8A. Take 91 to Route 2. Much quicker and easier

Recently spent a few nights here in Cabin 3! It was lovely! The cabin was clean and charming and only $50 a night! (Should note on the reservation site that sleeps 3 in this cabin means a full size and a twin size bed, not three beds. Luckily we had proper fitting sheets, by chance!) Bathrooms were clean and showers were hot! The whole area was beautiful and the cabin area was remote and quiet. It was the perfect place to unplug while still being a few minutes away from lots to do, including white water rafting and a cute cafe!

Clean bathrooms, great camping along cold river, and great hiking trails connected to camp. Fun tubing down Deerfield river.

We made our reservation over a month ago was so excited to take how first family camping trip !!! Was sooooo disappointed when we arrived the cabin was so small, it smelled really bad, and the customer service was not helpful at all if you want to go fishing fo not stay there!!!!!! Not what the pictures show on Google ! DO NOT WASTE UR MONEY

Dawn Danley

Great campground! Friendly staff. Travelled a little over 3 hours to get there and we were not disappointed. It is a little small, but, the sites are wooded and well manicured. Nice spot if you love to old school camp. Will definitely be returning

Drew Bradshaw

Just a great scenic Rd!! And lots to do in area. Rafting Swimming etc. One of New Englands great spots.

Alex Delgado

Great park with several different trails to hike through. The staff was very helpful in making sure we knew where we were going before starting our trek. While hiking late on a Sunday afternoon, it was pretty quiet, and we only ran in to people one time towards the end of our hike. There were nice views of the river, too. Just make sure to dress appropriately and to check for ticks after leaving, but this goes for lots of woodland areas, especially in the Northeast.

I have visited Mohawk Trail State Forest for tent camping 3 times in the past most recently 10/12, I also live in Florida year round and unfortunately I do not get to see the seasons change. Every year my closest friends get together and go tent camping just at the peak of the leaves changing and I was there this time around. The memories I came home with on my last visit will last the rest of my life from spending time with friends to lite back packing through the hills, valleys and along the streams too driving through the small towns and stopping for a pumpkin coffee and true pumpkin danish. I'm planning on bringing my wife and daughter for the 1st time this October just so they might be able to see the beauty of Mohawk Trail State Park has to offer.....see you then

Great camping, hiking and river fun to be had! Some of the trees in the State Forest even have the King's Mark on them!

Stop by and enjoy the water view. There is also a small bridge, too.

Small but very aesthetically pleasing, campsites by the river have no privacy and are rather far from the bathroom, very polite staff

Gary Benoit

This is a great place for a day hike with family and friends during those warm summer days, as well as when the fall foliage is a popping. Just stay alert and watch for wildlife and bring plenty of water and insect repellent. I advise not to hike alone or without some sort of GPS, you could easily get turned around in there

Grounds are well manicured, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, rates are great, cabin was clean and spacious.

Well maintained campground in a cool location along a beautiful river. Campsites are close together but the walk in sites are pretty nice and located very close to parking.

Nice log cabin in the woods. Stayed in Cabin 1. Close to bathrooms, showers, and dish washing station. No running water in the cabin but has lights, outlets, and a fireplace. Cabin 1 has a twin bed, 1 bunk bed, and a queen (Sleeps 5). $75 a night plus a small booking fee online is a great deal(in 2018). Staff keeps the facilities clean and they are very helpful and friendly.

Heather LaJeunesse

Absolutely stunning. The views and trails are perfectly breathtaking to an avid hiker.
