Here you have all the reviews of people who use the products and services of Bash Bish Falls State Park (Park) in Massachusetts area.
At present the business has a score of 4.7 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 429 reviews.
As you can read, it has an average rating is practically the best, and it's based on a very large number of feddbacks, so we may be quite sure that the assessment is quite credible. If many people have bothered to give their score when they are happy, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park is included in the category of State park.
Beautiful area! Easy to get to. A little less than a half mile walk to get to the Falls from the Massachusetts parking lot. Very scenic. Many people come to wade in the water (since swimming is prohibited) and sunbathe. A great place to visit for people of all ages, just need to make sure you have sturdy shoes for the walk down.
We hiked to the falls from the New York side. It is uphill but not too steep. The falls have a great overlook and lots of rocks to climb on.
My most favorite place ever! Pretty easy trails with beautiful views to the Falls.
The hiking trail from the MA parking lot is quite steep, so bring your walking boots and be prepared to feel totally unfit
It's great to see the falls again lot of water beautiful nice hike
It is a beauty of park and the river is splendid its super crystalline water a tranquility and beautiful peace, the park has parking and also has mobile toilets and the entrance including parking is free.
Spectacular falls with easily hikeable access
awesome place to take family and dip your feet in water
Excellent easy hike with a beautiful waterfall and many places to get close to the water and put your feet in. Perfect for all ages and pets.
Litty
A cute hike, not too hard. Trail is always clean and the falls is beautiful ❤️
Trail to waterfalls very well maintained. Falls are every impressive and beautiful. The trail is a bit steep from Mass. side trail head.
Great hike. Very natural trails. There is a flatter path that you can take, if needed.
Beautiful waterfall. Should definitely be a stop if you are in the area.
Great exercise and a beautiful falls!
Beautiful place!
The falls are very pretty and there are other trails there to hike through the woods.
The most refreshing place you would want to be, Bash Bishop falls in Massachusetts. Going down to the falls it's a little difficult there is no proper path to go down there it's on your own risk. I'm certain part of a false you are not permitted to enter But further down the waterfalls you can. I highly recommend you bring your sneakers, and watershoes on this 3/4 miles to see the fall.
Beautiful park !!
Beautiful, starts in New York and ends in Massachusetts in simply a 15 minute walk. The falls is quite nice. Gotta see it if you like a hike and some nice scenery.
Wow . Stunning waterfall and an exhilarating hike to the falls from the upper parking lot . Great for a morning walk
Nice park with nice falls. Didn't get to see too much of the park. Free parking available. 3/4 mile hike to falls from parking. I'm sure there is more to see.
Spectacular, cool clear water.
short hike to the gorgeous waterfall... one of the toughest cycling climbs in the area to the top of the Mountain
Beautiful views and nice people!
A small hike/getaway, perfect for the youngsters, to get away in less than a two hour drive from Albany. Use the NY parking lot for an easier and smoother walk to the falls.
I liked it. There should have been more trails along the falls. Swimming should be allowed.
Nice 3/4 mile walk (one-way) from the parking lot in New York State. The trail goes along side the white water steam. A lot of water going over the falls in May!
Great hike we had a nice time and views were very beautiful.
The hike is a good one . Clean surroundings and beautiful waterfalls.
If you are in the area, do this hike. Lovely, easy. If you are up for a bit more strenuous hike, continue up to the top.. Past the falls area and you will end up looking down on the falls with a splendid view. Hawks soaring..
Lovely place to admire nature and walk. Falls are really awesome!
We hiked down the MA side and it wasn't too bad. The hike up was a bit rough, but overall it was pleasant. The falls are gorgeous and it's a nice area to sit down and enjoy the scenery.
Beautiful easy 3/4 mile trail
Beautiful place.
Really beautiful falls. If you want to walk less, use the parking lot on the Massachusetts side (NY parking lot is about 3/4 miles from the falls)
Easy walk with pretty scenery. Can get crowded tho.
Good hike. Was more crowded than I expected. Took around 2 hours for two 65+ people and me with a sprained knee to hike from the lot to the falls and back. Pack water and stop frequently on the way to the falls.
It was beautiful but too crowded and can't swim (ppl do). We hiked through a trail that crossed the NY-Mass border -this was cool. For more follow on IG @adventuresofkokoloco
Great little hike, waterfalls have something special about them. This one was great especially during the winter puts a whole new look on it.
The hike was definitely worth the waterfall.
Every time my family and I go camping we always hike to this beautiful scenery <3 After highschool I went here and was proposed to by my fiance. Beautiful place!
The waterfall is fantastic. This place has become overcrowded with people trying to find a free place to swim with their kids and cook food. I saw some people who had no business hiking the trails or climbing on the rocks. Its a shame. Someone will get hurt and then it will be off limits to everyone else.
Great quick hike well worth the end prize. Would label it pretty easy,...Backpack carrier would be a plus here with infants/toddlers. Most of the trail is a steep drop off to the creek, so you wouldn’t want to leave the real young ones unattended. But still easily done. Other than it being a quick hike, I would make the trip. You will be glad you did.
The falls and surround area are stunning. Swimming and alcohol are not allowed and this is enforced. I am disappointed at the large volume of people who disregard this rule directly in front of the police and DCR staff who are present. This disregard spoiled the water and scene for those of us wanting to enjoy the nature simply and while following the law. I hope this blatant disregard and disrespect does not cause this beautiful location to be closed to the public in the future.
Beautiful place nice place to hike
Park on MA side of the border for a vertical, challenging hike down to the falls, then climb back up. Or... Park on the NY side for a little longer, flatter walk to the same site.
We hiked to the falls from the camping ground. It was 1.5 miles there but the hike wasn't tiring and you will get to cross the NY-MA state line along the way. It's a very pleasant place. There were quite a few who chose to swim despite the no swimming sign.
Took a hike in September and ended up at the falls where we set up for a little picnic on some of the many flat rocks, and did some swimming. Great hike (always cool when you get to hike across state lines). Of course being a mountain stream the water is chilly but well worth it to take a dip. You can even swim over directly underneath the waterfall and take one a very high pressure shower.
Beautiful waterfalls great hike.
Awesome hiking with a beautiful water fall
Spectacular!
Nice park next to old iron works.
Incredible place and perfect hike, it would be five except that people were smoking down by the water, took away from the experience. But i would love to hike here again!
Wonderful hike, great exercise and an amazing waterfall at the end!
Look walk towards the Bash Bish Fall. The fall is awesome which is in MA boundary whilst entry is NY.
Worth the drive.
Always fun to hike around a waterfall. Short hike from the parking lot so great choice for hiking with a 4 year old.
Beautiful spot to visit. There were many people there in bathing suits despite numerous signs saying swimming was prohibited and people have died. I'd ignore the review that suggests swimming. Very refreshing to stick your feet in the water though.
Two Parking lots one at the water fall other at a mile form water fall for trail Go for trail it's only a mile.
Great fall. Fairly crowded in the summer time but that's expected. They have a couple of different locations you can swim in and enjoy the water. Police are usually at the scene.. You can view the fall from a distance or walk down closer for a good photo. Lovely fall but a bit smaller than what I was expecting.
Gentile hike up from the NY side. 3/4 mile hike. Plenty of parking. Dogs on leashes. Just an all around nice short day
Easy walk
Awesome and interesting place with great hikes and awesome waterfall. The village area and furnace are just amazing historical ruins. The ranger and docent spent time answering questions and provided us w perspective. A must visit for any history or nature buff. Interestingly half the park is in ny... area with furnace while the other half is in mass.
A beautiful hike leads you to the awe-inspiring waterfall. Bash Bish Falls is located in the southwest corner of Massachusetts in the town of Mt Washington, and just a few hundred feet from the New York stateline. There are two parking lots that lead to the falls. For a simpler walk, park in the lot in NY state. The Massachusetts trail head will require a steep hike down a rocky path, and a steep hike back up to the lot. If you are used to hiking this should not be challenging for you. It is not advisable to walk the narrow road from the NY parking lot to the Mass parking lot.
My parents took us here when we were kids
Nice place
Entered through the Copake Ironworks’ trail, this historic and serene park presents such beautiful examples of pristine nature. Some trails are more challenging than others, so hikers can pick the preferred level of difficulty. As for the park’s crowning jewel of Bash Bish, most of the waterfall was frozen during this review, which revealed a breath-catching beauty all its own!
Theres a 3/4 mile walk, but the falls are worth the walk.
Nice. Little parking
We hiked from Taconic state park about 2 miles. It's not an easy hike but not particularly challenging- path is wide and clearly marked but definitely a steep upgrade. You are not allowed to swim in the falls but everyone was swimming in the river downstream. Very cold- felt amazing. Go early because it gets pretty crowded. The falls and surrounding area were beautiful
Gorgeous. Hiking trails and beautifully maintained park falls.
Nice, easy pleasant hike!!
The planning lasts longer than the visit. Got all the way there only to find out the falls were closed to to someone drowning and dying. No radio broadcast or signs posted. I fully understand, but I was disappointed. I will rate higher once I get to the falls.
Says No swimming & the state police & park ranger are VERY STRICT! Your able to get up to waterfalls but can not right g bag or cooler with you.. Not worth the drive , EXPECT A STEEP MTN type of HIKE .. Although I did it with Baby in tow .. Enjoy it is Beautiful! Do t get caught "swimming" dip your feet walk on rocks but "FOG HORNS" are blown at you..
Great views. Great to visit in the fall but sure at any other time is good!
Very clean water is very refreshing
Absolutely amazing waterfalls and hike
Great falls and rapids. Jump (not dive!) off several cliffs into swimming holes (but watch out for the rangers, no fun allowed). Short walk from parking lot. Go over the NY line to an electiic deli and gift shop of sorts.
From the New York state parking lot it is a relatively easy 3/4 mile hike through the woods along the water to get to the gorgeous waterfalls. There are benches and places to sit along the way. When you get to the falls there are a couple of picnic tables. The whole round trip hike at an average pace with time to look at the waterfalls and to take pictures will take you between an hour and a half and 2 hours. It is really worth it we had a really good time!
This place is awesome
Amazing Placed to share with all your family !! Just Beautiful!!
Very scenic and peaceful. This trail is only about 1 mile to the falls and back. Lovley.
Very cool it says no swimming but you can swim it's deep
Some days there's no one there and it's very tranquil and relaxing but then some days it's like being at the water park at Six Flags.
Short hike with a rewarding view!
Great place to visit! Water is so clear!
Great falls.. short hike from the parking lot.
Awesome views and great hiking.
Beautiful hike.love it here. Falls are beautiful. You need to go. Short uphill stroll from NY parking lot. Not strenuous but not flat. Was very hard on another hiker we passed with bad knees. Lots of dogs. Unfortunately a few unleased. Please leash your dog.
Love this place, have been going for 15 years now, been in every cabin and on a few camp sites. Love the depot deli.
I wish it were possible to have rangers monitoring the falls consistently. Bash Bish has become such a well talked about and now overpopulated place that there's always hoards of people doing everything it says they shouldn't be. Just today I saw 3 people swimming and climbing the rocks of the falls with no regard to the "DANGER NO SWIMMING" sign. I obviously understand that the place can't be monitored constantly due to budget issues with NY but I also don't think we need another person to die there like a few years ago.
Beautiful spot
The best in the state for sure. Bring your hiking gear and water and a picnic basket for the full experience
Beautiful views and a lot of really great nooks to spend an afternoon outside. Pro tip: check out the "scenic route" for a more challenging hike along a fence that doubles a handrail. It's all the way on the left side of the parking lot.
Always a nice visit
Beautiful waterfall with two main entrances. One in Massachusetts the other in New York. The one in Massachusetts is much more difficult for someone who doesn't regularly hike. It is very steep and rocky. The New York entrance is much more approachable for average folks.
Awesome waterfalls, if you're up for the hike I highly recommend tge MA trail down to the falls rather than the NY trail up to the falls.
Easy trail and a great waterfall
Magical. I loved the short hike and the waterfall is beautiful.
Beautiful falls, easier hike from the New York parking lot. The lot in Mass leads to a steep hike down to the falls with lots of steps. Coming back up was 22 flights of stairs on my Fitbit.
Awesome place to bring the family for a great hike an spectacular sites!
Nice please to see and be someone
Great spot for the family!
Nice place that also marks the state borders between MA y MY Great for a walk with family and friends Good for your ears to hear the water sound and to your lungs to breath clean fresh air You also can meet people from diferents countries, my last visit I may a family that came from Jamaica just to have good time here
Amazing veiws on the mass side and good like hike down to the falls
Makes for a nice hike for beginers. Many picture taking opportunities.
A beautiful place to visit and hike. The Falls are wonderful and well worth the short hike to get there. The entire area is worth spending time in and investigating.
Great place for a hike with family and friends, any season! Trail connects the falls to Taconic State Park pond, perfect for a summer afternoon.
Great place. Nice easy 15 minute trail from the NY parking lot to the falls !
easy walk to falls.
BASH BISH FALLS IS THE HIGHEST SINGLE DROP FALLS MASSACHUSETTS HAS TO OFFER. A VERY UNIQUE LOOKING FALLS. BUT YOU NEED TO GO WHEN THERE IS A LOT OF RAIN TO SEE IT IN ITS FULL GLORY. WE WERE LUCKY TO GO SEPTEMBER HAS SOME GOOD RAINS. LOOKING THROUGH THE CAMERA IT REMINDED ME AS IF A ALIEN WAS POKING ITS HEAD THROUGH THE FALLS AND I WAS WAITING FOR SIGOURNEY WEAVER TO COME AND SAVE ME. LOL THERE ARE 2 TRAILS ON THE MASSACHUSETTS SIDE. A 2 MILE HIKE OUT & BACK AND A MORE RUGGED 1.2 MILE OUT & BACK MILE HIKE OVER BOULDERS, TREE ROOTS, STONE AND WOOD STAIRS. IT IS STEEP GOING DOWN BUT IT WASN'T AS BAD AS AN UP HILL HIKE AS I THOUGHT. FROM THE NY PARKING LOT IT THE TRAIL IS WIDE AND MORE LEVEL AND I BELIEVE TO BE 1.5 MILES. NO MATTER WHAT TRAIL YOU TAKE IT IS MORE THAN WORTH IT. THE SECOND MASSACHUSETTS PARKING LOT WITH THE STEEP TRAIL IS THE ONE YOU SHOULD TAKE. BECAUSE THERE IS A VERY SHORT ROCKY TRAIL GOING UP TO A GORGEOUS SCENIC VIEW OF THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS. AND THIS GREAT SPOT FALLS IN BETWEEN MOUNT WASHINGTON STATE FOREST in MASS & TACONIC STATE PARK IN NY.
Was absolutely beautiful. Able to park and walk and explore
Really liked it. The trail to the falls from the MA parking lot is quite steep and rocky, though, so be warned. Takes about 10 or 15 minutes but it's a beautiful view and worth it. I heard the trail from the NY parking lot is longer but easier to walk.
This place is amazing, and theres other waterfalls in the area that you can check out to, but the only problem is, you cant swim under bash bish falls while the state park is open, they have a park ranger that watches, but u can swim in other pools around the falls, and down river from the main pool at the falls, amazing hiking, and a great place to take pictures, I would recommend this place to everyone, please check this beautiful place out, were going back this weekend just to check out the towns around Mt Washington..
This is one of the nicest places in the area you can go where you don't have to walk more than 10 minutes to get there. The waterfall is very beautiful and you can sit and relax with your feet in the refreshing water many places along the river. Great place to have a picnic if there arent to many people there. BE AWARE: there are to parking lots. The walk from the upper parking lot (in MA state) is quite steep. The walk from the lower lot (NY state) is much easier and ia the best alter ative if you want to bring equipment for a picnic.
Got there before 8 a.m. midweek and had the falls to ourselves. Crystal clear water, spectacular falls, nice little hike.
Nicenplavenfor s hike and to see the falls. Wear good foot gear and be prepared for a rocky, steep trail. All worth the workout
This is a really nice outing to see a lovely waterfall and stream. There are Porta-Potties at the NY parking lot and the top of the falls. Park in the NY lot as it is a nice easy trail up to the falls viewing area. There are steps so you can go down to the bottom of the falls (no wading or swimming) for better photos and lots of places to sit and enjoy the flowing water. This is not a great place when wet or snowy as the trail can be messy and the rock steps down are quite slippery. Pick a dry day in the spring or early summer and you will love it.
Scenic view, trails, sunset, waterfall, fresh air, parking lotes, and the beauty of nature around is just amazing
Too bad they do not let you swim
Nice waterfall
Amazing hike beautiful falls
Beautiful place
A fantastic place to go for a family hike during any season of the year. This park is on the New York and Massachusetts border; with access from both states . Park in the NY lot for a relaxing walk to the base of the falls, then take a short drive up the road and park in the MA lot for an amazing view from atop the Falls. Although Bash Bish Falls is lovely and serene; the area should be respected as there are some challenging hiking areas and swimming near the Falls could be extremely dangerous. Swimming is prohibited for a reason. Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints and enjoy this hidden gem with family and friends.
Beautiful but they don't let you to swim :(
Nice pleace to contemplate the nature !!!
Great little hike, well maintained path and stairs. High traffic area.
It's moderate hike, nice place to visit with whole family. There are many spots for swimming.
Always an amazing walk. Well kept and always clean
Beautiful falls. Short hike to the view although it can be a little steep at places for those who don't like any hills. Isn't a gruelling hike though. I recommend a visit to this beautiful park
We parked in the NY parking lot. The trail to the falls was fairly easy. I wish we came when it was warmer, as I would have loved to go swimming under the waterfall. After completing the initial hike, we decided to hike up to Sunset Rock. The trail covered the elevation in a short distance resulting in a steep climb that left me struggling for breath for most of the climb. My companion had no issues with the climb. The view from Sunset Rock was worth the climb. I would love to go back again and highly recommend both hikes!
Wonderful place awesome sights little bit of a walk to get there
Great, family friendly hike.
It was a great hike! The waterfall was beautiful!
Long and steep hike from the Mass side
Fresh air, crystal clean brook, relaxing trail and waterfall!
Great place to visit with friends or family, it wasn't too crowded easy to spend a couple hours
The waterfall is awesome and the creek running up to it is great! Very dissapointing to see parents and grandparents throwing their trash on the ground or hiding it beneath leaves with their kids watching. Please don't make this place a dump.
Nice place
Love this place
Beautiful
A short hike from the parking lot is worth trekking. Observe the power of water cascading on both sides of a huge rock. Just sit across on the rocks and enjoy!
Easy pleasant hike to the falls. It's worth the effort.
Great veiws. Just enough of a hike of motorcycle to stretch legs.
Water is amazing, looks like a place you get to by plane but it's only a drive away, border line ....to NY and Massachusetts. It's also not a difficult hike. Highly recommended.
Nice easy hike from the NY parking lot. Nice 60 foot falls. Steep stairs at the end are not for everyone. Otherwise kid friendly. Port-a-potties were clean, nicely maintained short trail.
Great little stop while out riding. Nice hike to the falls from the upper lot.
Absolutely breathtaking!!! I come back here every few years....come in thru NY State entrance...the Mass entrance is slow going at best.
Beautiful short easy hike to a wonderful waterfall. Highly reccomend going at slow freezing, it is stunning
Short hike and beautiful waterfall
Good place for hiking...25 minutes walking distance from parking lot.
For the avg. couch potato it's a pretty intense hike to and fro but the views are priceless
Amazing waterfall. Short hike and then you're there
3/4 mile walk from the NY parking lot. There is a MA parking area also (not sure the distance but it looks closer with a lot of stairs).
Great falls with 2 parking spots. One in Mass with a short hike down, & one in Ny with a gradual hike up. Signs say no swimming but there were people in the water.
Nice place to visit and hiking .
Great cliffs to jump off! Good hiking.
