amanda picciotto

Love driving through here!

Tammy Durham

Beautiful scenery, great for photo taking, fishing, hiking, boating. I really enjoy the yearly nesting of the eagles w/ their newly hatchlings.

Jen

The park has many entrances to the river for fishing and kayaking. Always clean and lots of fun.

A. Malik Abass

I love going here and enjoying the fresh air and scenery. It's always clean and the trails are easy to navigate. Just don't go after it rains, you'll understand why if you do.

Jake Kowalchek

We came to the picnic area for a family reunion. It was a nicely kept park, very clean, and had a couple of huge cover pavilions with tables and grills. They also had a large playground for kids to play at that was spaced far enough away from the pavilions that it didn't interfere with the older folks. Great spot for a family gathering or just to take the kids for outdoor activities.

Rameez Aijaz

Very well maintained, beautiful historical place.

Linda Hess

Erica Anderson

Home sweet home and a slice of heaven. Susquehanna State Park is one of the most beautiful places ive ever seen. We visit from NC several times a year, so we always try to get a nice walk by the river in, and some pics.

Brad P

A great place to walk and bird.

Ryan Edwards

Under the bridge, over Deer Creek ,has big stripers and smallmouth bass

Tris Aime

Its a large, beautiful park with various amenities. Both fresh and tidal fishing. The mill is the only working one left in harford and one of a small handful left, I think across the country, that's that old and still only water powered. It's a good weekend visit. Programming is changing all the time.

David Loeb 3

The grill should be cleaned up. Better signs to the picnic area.

Bill Marcus

Talk about tranquility you can go there to de stress and enjoy yourself

Jamie McCoy

Ton Ray

Awesome park to relax and take in nature

Michael Roberts

It was ok, was only there for a picnic

Mike Webb

We hiked the south bank and upper ridge line. Wild flowers everywhere. Trillium, Dutchman's britches, Trout Lillys, so many more. Along the south bank of the Susquehanna, the Virginia Bluebell runs for miles. The are a good week away from being at peak, try April 18-20th. I'll be there. A truely unique experience. Don't miss it! American Eagles, Red tail Hawks, and other raptors also...

Eli Levov

This is a GREAT place to camp. They have secluded sites, places to fish nearby, old mill and other historic buildings.

Ron Sutton

Lots of nice easy hikes, nothing too strenuous but nice views and some good workouts.

Nathan Grismer

What a gorgeous place! I was fortunate enough to go on a day when there were few others. Often I felt like I had the whole park to myself! The air was clean but carried a dreamy haze and tasted sweet. I went hiking deep into the forest, far enough to come as close to complete silence as I'd ever been. The sensation was exhilarating and unnerving all at once. I'm definitely making plans to bring the family!

Jaymi Smith

Great place for me and my Doberman to go for a run

Jill McKay

The Susquehanna State Park offers a variety of trails at different intensity levels. You can stroll on a flat surface by the river or you can venture up fairly steep, rolling hills and loo down from the river from up high. We've toured the grist mill too. Great park!

Thomas Wait

Great single track although very limited. Excellent facilities in the summer but not open the rest of the year. Always fun to catch the Corvette guys meeting in the parking lot by the bathroom Hut.

Dominic Sacchetti

Great place to hike and camp. Camping reservations are online, you can reserve a spot for tent camping / RV or a small cabin. Reservations are required during summer, and recommend on weekends in spring and fall. Firewood is available for purchase, 5 dollars cash for a milk crate of wood. Also they have a small commissary with bug spray, bottled water, and other stuff. It's not as expensive as it could be, but still bring your own stuff. The campsites have showers, bathrooms, and potable water. Plenty of trails to explore, the ridge trails goes through woods, the rail trail goes along the river, and the equestrian trail goes through a field. Also they have one of the last fully functional grist mills in the country. Its really amazing to see how the entire mill operation is powered by a water wheel. It's best to visit in the spring or fall to avoid crowds.

Tanya Sattelmeier

We happened to be there on a quiet Friday in September. Everything was closed up, but the weather was beautiful, and the mill, and buildings are interesting. Views of the river are very nice and the boat ramp looked very easy to navigate.

David Geveke

Camped there last weekend. It was the first time we had been to Susquehanna State Park. Our experience was excellent. We had a few problems with our camper and camp hosts, Joyce and Rich, and state park staff, Madison, were extremely helpful in resolving them. The site was very private and very nicely located on a little path to the restrooms, which were the nicest I’ve seen in a state park in a long time.

Michael Herrin

Me and my friend walk here. It is a very nice place.

Moshe Starkman

We met up with several of my in-laws and their family for a day trip getaway and had a great time time at multiple facilities. We started at the picnic area where the little kids played on the park "things" swings, monkey bars, etc. while I played sports with the older/teenage boys and a couple neices. The women talked and ran after little kids, as is the norm, but enjoyed the different scenery and having more "runway" for the lil' rascals to try and escape with. Cuties! After that the women and kids drove to then next location while me and the boys opted walk. Naturally, our travel path wasn't a straight line as we had to try and navigate a non-path near the canal. That misadventure was followed by the discovery of a rocky mountainside which, naturally, compelled me to declare the first one to the top "ultimate champion!" Well, after I ran out of steam, approximately mid way, of course, one the boys yells out "I made it! And there's a path here to the river!" At that moment I admitted that anything but getting to the top was not an option. So with a little adrenaline and a lot of pride I huffed and puffed my way to the top. Fortunately, for me anyway, the path was pretty straight forward and didn't require jumping over chasms or fighting bears, etc. To make this long story short(er) I'll conclude with this, when we got closer to the river I was met with 1 WhatsApp message, 1 text message, and 2 missed calls; all with the same inquiry... "Where are you?" So, in conclusion, it's a great place for a day trip. But be prepared for not having cellphone reception.

Tim Lehman

Nice place. Clean bathhouse.

Denise Rosario

Great for family gatherings..clean, well maintained.

Noelle Paxton

This park has amazing overlooks over the river and some great hiking trails from challenging to beginners level. Great spot to see bald eagles. My church has had their picnic here for the past 20 years and no one has ever been bored. The kids have great spots to play and run around while still being within sight distance. It really is a great park for the whole family.

Cody Mitchell6109

Beautiful place to hike and take a dog for a walk! Went on a lovely Saturday morning and enjoyed the trails and the water. Everyone out and about was so friendly and the trails are so well maintained. Well worth the short drive, and I will definitely be returning!

Winna Heilman

Great campground with nice restrooms. Beautiful area.

E. Carlos

If you like nature and fishing this is your place

Rebecca Bryant

Solid campground, excellent tree cover. A few spots were open to sun or very small next to the road, definitely call park ranger before picking site. Nice clean bathrooms. Small, decent playground. Annoying to drive to hike sites, as there aren't really any at the campground.

Satoshi Ikeda

Starting in June 2019 you will have to reserve a parking space in advance.

Jason Chisnell

Absolutely love this place. You have to see it to understand

John Harro

Great trails for hiking running or mountain biking. Not as many good views of the river as I hoped, but there are probably several great views in winter when there is less foliage. Make sure you find a map on their website so you know where to park.

R Houseman

Great hiking. The pawpaws were ripe making fir a delicious hike through the wooded hills.

Anna Dowell

A beautiful place to connect with nature!! My family hikes though very often!

Mary Ann Travis

Only stopped at visitors center great view

ordrina johns

Need a bigger park but it was fun.

Amy Brenneman

A nice wooded area for tent camping or mini cabins. Short drive down to Havre de Grace which has a lot of small town charm along the bay.

Pat Sowinski

Very difficult to find where you are supposed to camo in the dark, needs clearer signage. Restrooms clean and easily accessible. Overall good experience. Would visit again!

Juan Velasquez

Amazing views, giant birds, great hiking

Stephen Rosenberger

Great trails, lots of bald eagles flying overhead

Dan Petz

I would highly recommend the Susquehanna State Park. The walking trails are awesome there's many paths that lead right to the Susquehanna River. The Grist Mill is really cool. You could spend the whole day with your family at the State Park.

Alexandr Galkin

Great location did not have enough time to see the park.

Derek Wellman

Great fishing place, biking, walking, kayaking, or just floating down stream

Russell Kovach

Relatively undeveloped, but a nice campground, good historic structures, and fantastic hiking along the Susquehanna River! If you are a bird watcher, Susquehanna State Park is one of Maryland's true gems, particularly during spring warbler migration.park near the Mill and walk through the stream and up to the top of the hill, unbeatable hiking and birding!

Linda Gentry

Been coming here 50+ yrs to enjoy God's gift of Natural area with Deer Creek flowing into the Susquehanna. Camping, Picnicking, Trail Hiking, playing in the waters of Deep Creek and also a boat ramp into the Susquehanna River for fishing. For me, in certain sites hold great memories. Some places nature took back but still plenty of pull off areas to enjoy more private time. This was once what I called MY PRAYER CLOSEST because I was in God's world away from worldly influence.

Lord Ashur

Good place to fish and launch your boat plenty of parking never usually too busy

A Google User

You won’t get a clear water view on the ridge, but the unnamed trail by the river is pleasant.

Katherine Cunha Johnson

Jessica Behnke

There is so much access to water whether it be Creeks or rivers and it's beautiful.

Brian Erisman

Quiet, clean, always a great place to get away. Awesome staff. Thank you

Yana Taran

Great state park with a lot of hiking trails and other stuff to do. It's beautiful and very well maintained. You definitely have to visit the office first to get all kind of maps and information. We love it.

Corey Andrus

Hiked 8 miles from Deer Park picnic area around the green trail, then blue, then orange, then blue, then purple, up the old rail bed to the flint forge back to the picnic area. The trail has forest, fields, historical sites, and lots of stream and river views.

David .Basham

Amy Boswell

An amazing place with beautiful hiking and camping.

jennifer plank

Great place to spend the day enjoying nature from fishing to hiking the little park, cabins and so much more I absolutely love hanging out at the waterfall with a picnic basket for a day if relaxation

Jeff Wilson

Great state park in Maryland with awsome fishing. Has great hiking trail also.

Brad Berg

Beautiful state park with great trails. Some challenging, some easy. Great views of the river from the higher trails. The only problem is that the signage is a bit lacking in areas. Not easy to figure out how to drive to certain areas.

Sarah B

Lovely place for a hike. We parked near rock run mill and the archer house. From there, we took the purple --> red --> blue --> orange. This took a few hours. The beginning was strenuous especially if the creek is higher than normal. I would recommend wearing hiking shoes over sneakers. It's quite hilly and muddy after a rainstorm as it was on this day. A beautiful hike, nonetheless, and lets you see the river, fields, and plenty of trees. I can't wait to come back on a sunny day.

Don DeHaven

Good trail system, beautiful scenery. Hilly and rocky, though, so plan accordingly.

Kathy Alexander

We saw 5 bald eagles, 7 great blue heron, 4 cardinals, a cormorant, a humming bird, a huge turtle and a Baltimore Oriole. Beautiful day, but it was hard to find a map of the hiking trails and the trails were not maintained well. Still a great day! We'll go back.

J Bold-N

Fantastic location to drop off the grid for a few hours. Bored at home on a Sunday not sure where or what to do? Leave your money behind and connect with nature. With a selection of natural and manicured trails to explore you won't be disappointed if you're an "Earth-Lover".

Brittney Randolph

Great place to take a family day out

Heidi Pepin

Gorgeous. It's not far from 95, but I'm glad we had the GPS. We parked at the Deer Creek Picnic area and followed Stafford Road down to where it meets Craig's Corner Road. There's a bit of damage in the area from the recent rains, but road closures were clearly marked. We crossed the bridge and turned right into the Lower Susquehanna Heritage Trail. What a nice trail! It's about 2.5 miles long and follows the river all the way to the Conowingo Dam. It's either gravel or boardwalk and is a rail-trail, with railroad tracks along most of the route, mostly the Mason Dixon Trail section. It's incredibly flat and great for kids. We saw a lot of families, especially with dogs, and a lot of bikers too. You can't see the river for most of the trail but it's very shaded and a breeze comes off the river. It took a us about 3 hours, with a 5 and 9 yo in tow, to do the entire 6.6 miles from where we parked the car to the dam and back. We'd love to come back and do it again with bikes! And we can't wait to check out more of the park and the Mason Dixon Trail.

master of cheese

Great Views, Fine trees.

Athenous Johnson

Beautiful state of a park.

K Leigh

Nice employees at campground.

A M

Absolutely incredible park with perfect views of the Susquehanna river! Plenty of trails to keep you entertained (lost) and it also has some historic sites. I will definitely tolerate the hour and half drive up just to explore more. Highly recommend!

Matt Seese

This park seems to have a little of everything. Historical things in the grist mill. Places to go fishing. Trails for walking, mountain biking, even horses. Different difficulty trails. The main trails are well marked, and I went on one of the "unmaintained" trails, and even that was still in fair shape. Lots of woods. A campground. A nice public area for gathering together. Just an all around well set up place to go visit. One of the more pleasant surprises was how clean the place was, especially for how busy it gets. Also, for being pretty busy, it is large enough not to feel crowded.

Lilian Guevara

I love this park one my favorite place to visit

The Original Kirbi

Beautiful park will definitely come back to visit!

Kennedy Musembi

I went on a date here and we had a blast. Perfect place to fall in love.

Christina T

Stayed in a cute little cabin with friends. One double, one set of bunk beds ( we worked it out), ceiling fan, electricity inside. Bring linens. Fire pit and table outside. Walked a trail, visited the mill, geocached by the river. Took a side trip to Have de Grace. Recommended!

Praswin Prakash

A quiet place for a weekend getaway. There are a few hiking trails around. Nice quiet place to have a picnic. We parked at the Deer Creek picnic spot which has a 2$ entry fee for MD plates and 4$ for outside plates, which is managed by a honor system. Lot of places to walk around. There is some history in this area too. Flint Furnace from the once thriving town of Stafford is located here.

James Gowran

Good place to go hiking on trails

Robin Ziegler

Beautiful park! Peaceful and clean. Would go back.

Kevin Tam

Location is good. Environment is nice. However, the playground is too small and childish. Some staffs are nice but 1 chuppy ranger is super nasty. He would even scream at the kids for no reason. He even yells out to adults "if you don't line like it, don't come back."

John Stout

Great location, very clean park and we'll maintained. The picnic area is amazing and provides alot of excellent opportunities for people with disabilities.

Etienne Kingsley

Great place for a sweet hike. Good views of the water.

Clarence Evans

PARADISE NOT FAR AS YOU THINK!

Ki Ko

Great time for nature!

Sharif Young

The water is refreshing... and did not eat my flesh. 10 outta 10

Britny Jennings

Favorite past time with my kids

Courtney Gordon

Beautiful area. There are several hiking trails in the park. We took the trail along the river and there were tons of access trails to get down to the water. Lots of fishing going on. Mostly people were catching white perch. If you went down to the water you could see tons of birds out looking for fish to catch too. There were lots of birds singing in the trees too and a few people bird watching.

Robb Griffey

Lovely park! Much to my dismay this isn't a "nudist friendly" park. In this day and age one would think people would be more open minded.

Francesca Cheshier

It is a beautiful trail and, the sound of the water stream makes the hike enjoyable.

Bluecat Schwehm

Not much to do but hike and fish. A little off the beaten path. Bring hard copy of reservation as no cell service caused me an issue with a ranger after I checked in with camp host.

Blake Nizialek

Great fishing and nice boat ramp. Public toilet. Open 24 hrs

Mark Tadlock

Always fun to drive by on the bridge

Matt Crone

Great hiking trails, with wide variety of terrain; a few inclines and declines, stream crossings, and open fields.

ROBERT RAMBO

Nice bike and hiking trails

Ali Wahab

Wow The best park in the world and the most beautiful

T Clark

Well marked trails. Good parking and bathrooms in the fee area.

Marc Hardesty

Sweet place and my personal go-to for an unscheduled ride. Overall is one of the more technical rides around these parts and may be too much to handle for a lot of riders without a full suspension bike.

Joshua Hull

The woman at the campsite office was very helpful picking a site and explain where to hike with the heat.

Elexis Brady

Beautiful ❤️❣️

Jinmin Zhou

Excellent! Great for family oriented activities!

Zena Nelson

I bring my kids and friends here as often as I can get away with it. They have really nice clean bathrooms, and a nice grill area including pavilions you can rent for gatherings. Deer Creek is awesome to swim in. The water is clean so that's a bonus. The campground are really awesome too. We're looking forward to our camping trip this summer. Oh and you can always bring your furry friends.

I went with my wife and 5 year old son. There is a good variety of hiking trails and some historical spots that are interesting to see. The park staff were friendly and helpful as well.

Ryan Lawrence

Cool spot. Not a whole lot to do other than walk or fish. But it's nice and shaded on a hot day!

Dan Radice

Well kept and clean. Park staff knowledgeable and helpful. Sites a tad small in some spots. Bath facilities clean and we'll maintained.

Timothy Clark

Ahhhhhh nature...grab some paw paw fruit by the shores and go fishing or walk many miles of trails. So pretty
