Great playground with lots of "adventure" equipment, like jumping from tire to tire, a firefighter's pole, and a zip line. The recycle craft at the Nature Shack was great for ages 3-7. No charge for weekdays/non-holidays.

Beautiful location, never been there before, daughter was invited to a birthday gathering. Had to eat to enter, forgot how much. Just remembered that if your kid is in a booster seat they get in free. Gorgeous lake as well in the park.

Beautiful park and place to see. The only downside is that the park maps are very hard to read and they aren't given out. At each start to a trail you have to check the map and geographical location before you go on them since there is very little information around them. There is a lot of wild animals roaming around. The lake is lovely to look at and has a wonderful sunset view.

Seneca Creek Stae Park it's a very special place. The lake shore trail as around 5 miles, hugs de Chopper Lake the entire way around and it is spectacular. You will be surrounded by nature the entire time and if you're lucky as I was, you will be able to see amazing little birds, deers and other magical creatures of the forest. The park has a boat house and some fishing facilities, also picnicking areas, a restored cabin, a disc golf course and playgrounds. During winter they host a very special light festival that warms our hearts and souls. I definitely recommend you to visit this park and make your time there special.

Beautiful trail to go hiking on a cool day. We took the Seneca Creek trail and it was a good ratio of hills to Creeks to trees. The only downside is that I wish it was more well indicated where the trail started, and marked which trail it was. It's also a good idea to include the distance traveled from start to current location.

Nice, well maintained and marked trail in the woods. It zigs and zags all around the lake, almost 4 miles altogether. A part of it goes close to a road so there is some noise but mostly it's far enough to be able to enjoy just the nature around. It's a great place for people with kids as the park has a really nice playground with a zip line. There are also many picnic tables available.

Beautiful State Park with well maintained trails. Blazes are well marked and the trail map online is accurate. 3.7 Mile Walk around the lake is beautiful, with mild gains in elevation and really nice scenery. Very few people were out while we were on the trail, passes two joggers and a dog walker. Parents: Nice place for a walk with kiddos. There are also 2 playgrounds that we saw and a disc golf course. EV drivers: No charging available.

Very nice park. Just watch out for the witch that haunts it. You might get lost, hike around in circles, and then disappear. Definitely do not mess with any stone piles or creepy voodoo-like wooven sticks hanging on trees. That s**t's really creepy.

Little oasis inside growing city. Plenty of hiking/bicycling trails, placid lake, fishing, picknick areas, playground for kids, and this is just a start. Come visit alone or with family. Beware it is FREE on workdays and some minimal $$ on weekends. Love it.

Beautiful low humidity day. I walked the Lakeshore trail spending a couple of hours leisurely seeing the wildlife and sights. The trails are well marked and clear. Saw several hikers and fishermen and families in boats on the lake. Fun experience.

This gem is hidden within the urban sprawl of the Gaithersburg/Germantown area. There is so much to do, multiple playgrounds, fields, hiking trails, fishing, boating (hand launch), paddle boat and canoe rentals, tons of picnic areas with grills, pavilion rentals for large events, and a first class 27 hole disc golf course. We don't mind the very reasonable $3 pp park entrance fee because the park is always meticulously maintained and trash free. Also, there is no charge for kids in carseats, and if you park at the entrance you can walk in free as well. I can't say how much our family has enjoyed this park over the last few years!

It’s so nice to have a nature play near by, like the free crafts on Tuesday and we will try yoga next Wednesday evening :) tire playground is so cool, we plan to see snake feeding may be next week. We likes this park.

This is a big park with lots of space and a nice playground. You can take boats out on the lake, but you can only rent boats in the summer. I only wish there was the option to swim there too.

Honestly they need to put walking trails in. They have hiking trails but they need put in walking trails along the road. Right now all the walkers are walking in the road. Also need trash cans.

Only $3 to get into the park for Maryland residents but they only accept cash... not sure if this is some underground money laundering scheme or just tying to be difficult. The nearest ATM is several miles away at a 7-Eleven. Great Falls accepts card why doesn’t Seneca?

It’s a good place to go for a quick getaway from the city life. Near and yet such a beautiful view of nature. They have a park made of recycled rubber that the kids will enjoy. Beautiful views of the lake.they also have boat rides available that are not very expensive.

Beautiful park, been going there since I was itty bitty. The tire playground is more than phenomenal, and the hike is light and beautiful, with beautiful sights of the lake and the woods surrounding it from all angles. Would recommend to families (particularly ones with kids), hikers, outdoorspeople, and anyone who simply wants to enjoy themselves. Note: trails tend to be particularly muddy after it rains, considering it is largely a dirt path, so proceed with caution.

My favorite place to run. The path that goes around the lake should be wider. Other than that the park is great for families an gatherings. There is a nice play ground for children. You can rent paddle boats, kayaks or row boats. Great place

I would say it's one of the best places to get some quiet and relaxing time here. Just make sure you go during the week and during the day so there aren't too many people there. If you have or can rent a kayak, that's even better! As for some family time, it's a great place too! Plenty of BBQ racks and benches around to make it a nice weekend place to spend with your family. I dont think I've ever seen it over crowded.

The park is stunningly beautiful and well maintained. The trails are nice and easy with few elevation changes. There is no shortage of photo ops, and in fact, last time I was there, I saw several families taking professional pictures. The park staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I feel so lucky to have a park of this caliber nearby. My now-husband even proposed to me there!

It's a great lake to go to for fishing, hiking, jogging and running. They also have rental kayaks. We walked around the entire loop that goes around the lake. It took us some 1.5 hours. The only downside is that they do not have a beach or a swimming area. They also sell icecream and have a restroom.

We were a tad late for the peonies peak but still impressive. Can attend talks on flora and fauna there. Lovely place to picnic, take a boat on the lake (they have various rentals), commune with nature on a walk in the woods around the sizable lake, enjoy a fun playground, run or bike the trails and more. Great festival of lights in winter. 62 and older get free car entry.

This is a great park. So many things to do and see. They have birding opportunities, you can't rent a row boat, fish, get a tour of the lake on their pontoon boat. Hike the trail around the lake. Grab a pavillion and have your own picnic complete with a charcoal grill.

One of the best parks in the area for picnics and to check out the lake. There is a Fee to get into the park but im sure that helps to keep it clean and not crowded, I I would highly recommend going here on the weekends., The also have a nice kids playground with a Zip Line

Loved this park. Wish I had brought lunch and more water so i could stay longer. I hope to come back on a day it is less hot. Clearly a beloved park as literally every pavillion had a party happening and so.e of the picnic tables did as well. They rent canoes for a decent price so i may come back to try them in the fall.

This is a large and lovely park with many open fields and numerous picnic areas, some sheltered. There are beautiful views of the lake from parking lots if you're just driving through. Boating rentals end after Labor Day - too bad. Restrooms are few and scattered but I couldn't find one in time when I was there recently and went to the woods! Very restful place. Dogs must be leashed.

Nice fitbit walk around the park. A highlight was seeing the huge peony field. Quite a lot of varieties. Apparently they were transplanted from a garden that was on Summit Avenue in Olde Town back when it was young.

I walked the trail around the lake. It took a while. I found some stones to skip on the glassy lake and got one to go like 12 skips or so, the others were plunkers so I stopped. I'd come back to see the turtles and the grey herring who ate a crawfish while I watched.

Awesome park. Well kept. Felt very safe. The trail around the creek is wonderful. We saw lots of turtles, mushrooms, birds and some snakes. We love very close so I expect to come back here a lot. We went on a Sunday afternoon and while there people there it was not crowded. Want to come back and kayak.

Came here for a group picnic. It's a very open park with lots to do for family's and groups. We took a lot of photos and kis got to play on playgrounds. Areas are separated so you don't hear or run into another group having an outing.

Amazing park in a very good shape! Ideal place to organize a party in a rainy day because of enormous shelters with great fireplaces. It's a state park. So it costs about $3 per adult. But it's really well spent!
