REVIEWS OF Prince William Forest Park IN Maryland

Bob Brown

Peddlers stay away -- $15 to travel on trails your tax dollars have already paid for? Why? To support the rude staff at the desk? The NPS and Interior Dept should look over the pricing policy at this place. Plus there only about 12 miles of paved trails anyway!

Tom Conway

If you’re expecting Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon, this ain’t it. Still, Prince William Forest Park is a beautiful place for a hike or a short camping trip if you’re bored with I-95 or fed up with DC stress. The trails wind along scenic streams, past small waterfalls, and through seemingly endless woods.

Sue

Beautiful park. Trails for all different levels of difficulty. Make sure to stop by the ranger station for trail maps.

be blessed

Enjoyed time with friends and Brian at his games. Thanks for caring with us.

Cynthia Reynolds

It's something to do but nothong special

Sarah Beaumont

Lovely , place to get a little bit of nature with out going far from DC.

Bill H

This is a beautiful park and worth visiting. It's on the south eastern part of the county, in case you're not sure of it's location.

James Slowikowski

Its nature is awesome my 2 sons love it

Cat Barber

This park is HUGE! With so many trails this park will take more than one day, a few days a least to get a sample of this park. Key take aways: - Free for military members - Multiple trails, pretty much all of them are inclined. Not the best to take a stroller with all the uprooted tree roots. We did see someone jogging while on the trail. - Great place for bicycling on the road rather it's professional or for pleasure with the family. All the trails have parking right outside of them. - There is a scenic driving route you can take to view the park. - Many picnic tables near the main office including sheltered tables. - Visitor Center office has winter hours where they are closed from Wednesday-Thursday and open from Friday-Monday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. - This is where to get your National Park passport book stamped at the visitor center. - There are waterfalls you can view within the park. - Bridges are all around the park, some in working condition and some being repaired. - Bathrooms are located outside the visitor center. - There is a water bottle water fountain located outside the visitor center. - Maps are located outside the center so if it's closed you can still get one for the trails. - Kids play ground is available. - Not many trash cans available. Overall this is a place you should visit while in the area.

MSD Alekhya

One of the best hiking place. But don't expect for water falls, it is just running water. Best place for picnic and there is kids play area too.

Rodney Ozanich

Excellent place to hike. Great bike path.

Rodney Barnes

Fits are needs perfectly for a family visit. Actual park has lots of nice views of nature.

Dawn Hand

Really enjoyed our meal here. Turkey and dressing is always a good choice. Great break after looking at tons of airplanes

Mariah Lipscomb

Absolutely beautiful forest with a lot of trails to hike and cabins you can camp in. I've only been on one trail so far, but I plan to come back and see all that the park has to offer. There are different entrance fees but just a vehicle entrance fee is $15 for a 7-day pass.

Brenda Bee

The "scenic drive" was breath taking to say the least. The places where you can park are worth exploring, do not miss Carter's Pond and do take your time when you visit because you may not see it all in one visit.

Steve E.

This is a nice park to hike with a fair number of trails of differing difficulty. It's great to get away without having to go that far.

Barbara Faith

We loved this place! Great trails for children and dog friendly too. Took the granddaughters hiking on 2 of the trails. The visitor's center was full of hands on activities and we could have spent hours there, in addition to the hikes. We will be back on another trip to the area, hopefully soon.

robin kline

Dog friendly, nice trails, beautiful forested area. Restrooms and other facilities are clean. Water station at Visitor Center.

Anthony Coppola

My son and I took our 2 dogs here for hike. I dont know who enjoyed more the Dogs or us. Dogs got to run thru the creek and splash. We enjoyed the hike

Mr. Ed

It's a really good park with all the things that you would expect or hope for. The area is actually staggering big. And there are both small and longer trails that you can walk on. There is both of modern and an Old Bridge oh, and of course lots of nature scenery to look at.

Michael Mewhinney

Great trails for all levels of walkers and hikers.

Steven Specht

Great for hiking, cycling and running. 11.5 mile paved loop. Plenty of trails at all comfort and fitness levels.

Peter Smyth-Hammond

It's kind of a bummer that you have to pay an entrance fee, but I get that the Park Service has to supplement the budget somehow. Park is beautiful though, so it is totally worth it! The trails are well kept, and fun to walk, the facilities were clean and well kept, and the playground for the kids was totally unexpected and a blast for my 3 year old!

Roberto Lopes

Packed like sardines... Too small and close to other RVs

Jennifer Creswell

Awesome place ro hike! Lots if swervy parhs and bridges to cross over the fresh water creeks!

RJJR

Great place to bring your family or to hike alone. Lots of variable landscapes from hills to riverside paths. 30+ miles to hike and in some places bike.

Jamal Mitchell

I enjoy walking the many trails with my dog.

Vicki Welch

Always fun to explore.

Sam Orbe

Great place to get out some energy and cool off in rhe creek. Lots of wild life

Theresa Ridge

Great park to walk around in

Jerry Lehmann

Great place for a walk in the woods. Easy trail, also had places to picnic. Trails mostly in shade.

BRANDON CORYELL

Beautiful National park, not too big, not too small

Brandie Smith

Hidden gem close to DC. Has an amazing bike and walking path.

David Walker

This is a 17,000-acre piece of heaven in the middle of a metropolitan area. There are so many trails and places to explore. Only reason for 4 stars is because of the condition of some of the structures. Unfortunately the Park Service does not get enough funding to maintain well the structures. Other than that, Price William Forest Park is an amazing place to have reunions, scout camps, out even just an overnight camp in Cabin Camp 3

Denise DiPace

Friday was great. Quiet. But the got crowded on weekend.

Wiam

The orientation courses are hard, but the park is pretty

Jordan Wade

This is by far my favorite park to visit. It is large and you could spend days exploring this area. Many miles worth of trails and cool things to explore. Our favorite spot is about a 2 mile hike and you find a cool bridge and waterfall. There also never seems to be a lot of people there at once. You're never crowded and unable to enjoy the nature around. The rangers are very friendly and helpful. It's $15 to visit for the day or $30 for a year pass. If you live in the area just get the year pass! It's worth every penny.

Nicolaus Craig

Nice area for day hikes. Historic cabins are also available for overnight stays, but are often booked in advance. The predominant ecology is eastern piedmont forest with some riparian ecology. The Marine Corps museum is nearby on the opposite side of the interstate. Artillery from the nearby military base can often be heard.

Anya Plana-Hutt

Prince William Forest Park is a fantastic place for outdoor activities and suitable for everyone of every age. We have an annual camping trip with a friend of ours, and enjoy cooking on the campfire and going on hikes. You can also bike, RV camp, and learn about the park's history at the visitor center. In its past incarnations, it was the location of a spy camp, Indian territory, farmland, graveyard, civil war area, residences for the poor, etc. My favourite is its tradition as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps projects. There are easy to difficult trails and being in this National Park is time well worth spending. You feel refreshed and at peace - that frame of mind and a sense of well-being are great reasons for heading to Prince William Forest Park.

Josh Goodin

It's a wonderful sprawling natural area close to one of the craziest urban areas in the country, a great place to escape to. I used it as a base camp during my visit to DC. I wouldn't recommend doing that. It's only 30 miles from the city and 20 from the Springfield Metro station but DC traffic makes a simple trip into an hour-long excursion. Also, watch out for bears, one ransacked my tent at Oak Ridge campground.

Viki Dalbo

Beautifully maintained park. Will be back soon to ride our bikes and use the puppy friendly campgrounds! Entire family is super excited to go!

Bel O'Neill

Swindlers! Be aware that if the gate is not manned, you can pay at visitor center. Once you drive to visitor center, there is no option; they will charge you because you have already entered the park - $15 for 7-day pass. I would have chosen to come back since it was already late when we discovered the park entrance. We couldn't ask questions at the gate, so had to pay.

Sharon Laughead Pensa

Beautiful scene car ride in evening, seen several of these! No

Brenden Knapp

You are not allowed to hang anything from the trees

Robert Cale

Nice quiet and calm place to relax listening to nature go swimming and tubing in the stream

Marrie F

Had my first camping experience here. I must say it was pleasant. It was a little cool as we stayed during the fall.

Samuel Hill

I loved this spot because it allows for free primitive camping on its back campground. It also has cabins and RV hookups, a nice assortment of trails and bicycle accomodations. As a National Forest it is also free for military who show ID. If you're military tho, you will still need to get a pass card, so be sure to arrive before the park visitors center closes. The scenery is as pleasant as you can get without water and mountains. At night if you listen closely you can barely here the highway. I will likely camp here again.

Steve Cox

Great place to ride bikes and learn about our history.

Heather Novak

What a gem of a park. Clean, pristine and well maintained. I'll definitely be back.

Mr K

So very happy to have found this beautiful place. The rangers at the Visitor Center were gracious & accommodating. The hospitality was so wonderful that we are now card-carryin' members of the National Parks family!

Carolyn Lange

Overall not a bad place for a quick stop. The Spacers were quite narrow down the aisles was a little bit tight. Kids enjoyed the pool and the playground.

Judith Sibert

Fabulous hiking. Trails are well marked. I have a 12 mile loop that I do that's wonderful.

Neil Shapiro

Beautiful forest though we didn't explore much

Tim Long

Our family loves this park. Hiking is always nice, especially along the streams. During the right time of day you can see deer on the scenic drive.

mark york

Great place to take the kids and spend the day hiking and biking. Lots of trails for varying levels of fitness and time constraints. Although there have been bear sightings, the danger is when you surprise a bear. My kids are pretty loud so that didn't concern me too much. Nevertheless, I was ready just in case. Take a few minutes and make sure everyone knows what to do in case you encounter one. If you have younger kids, the visitor center has a touch and learn exhibit that teaches them about aome of the animals and plant life in the park. As well as a small historical display of the area. It's a federal park, so there is a $15 admission unless you bought an annual pass.

Dess Cheru

First time visiting. Great view and nature. I haven't seen everything but I didn't see why a public park cost $15 just to enter.

Gerry Kregg

Diane & staff were just SUPER! We were looking for a little tranquility & found it big time. Can't wait to return.

Martina Legler

Calm and peaceful, great network of well marked hiking trails.

m .r.b

Its beautiful, and it's close to our home. Great place to hike and camp

Joyce Kaes

Nice park for a walk. We saw a lot of squirrels and even some deer.

Will

Went here with my boyfriend and found a nice spot along one of the trails to set our tent up and relax for a bit, such a big and beautiful park, so many trails and beauty to see

Cassandra Kildow

Peaceful retreat within easy distance of DC. Camping with flush toilets and showers

Mike Phillips

Always a great place to take a jog, ride a bike or just commune with nature

Andy Piazza

I had a great time teaching my son about orienteering and basic land navigation. The park is beautiful.

Gabi Nogales

1st time camping and we enjoyed it

Tyler Ferro

Good paths. Not well marked and confusing

Alan Carrico

Absolutely beautiful for a hike, ride, walk or a drive! Take advantage of the picnic area my the station too! The Rangers at the station were quite helpful and egar to share their knowledge and experience.

Stephen Lavedas

Had a great hike on a well marked trail.

Yukun Wang

Great forest for summer walk. The creek was beautiful

Mladen Simovic

This is my favorite place to hike, run, ride a bicycle and enjoy the nature. I cannot say words that are good enough to describe this beautiful place. Annual pass is only $30 and it is completely worth it. Roads are nice and almost no traffic, perfect for riding and running. If you don't like hills then it may be not the best for you.

Dema Obeid Ayasra

I love love love this forest, had a great time with family. The park is clean and has all services, bathroom is clean and water there is warm. We had a long walk and passed by the river, literary heaven!

Sparkles 3

This place has many fun trails to keep you busy!

huntressmalice Poole

Love to walk my dog here. The best art in the world is Nature.

Immortal Serito

About 100 pad sites at Oak Ridge campground to car/tent camp. Hiking trails in abundance, short on wildlife, peaceful, except for the sound of war games coming from Quantico in the evening. $26/night.

Jennifer Holcomb

Thus is a beautiful place, especially in the fall. The scenic trail is great but make sure to get out of the car and walk around. There are lots of walking trails, streams, and sights to take in while there. Drive slow and enjoy the visit.

Julius Gathers

Has trails to walk and lots of fun...picnic area

Angela Bell

Beautiful scenery, the woman in the office was super nice, very helpful. A nice and quiet place. The only "downside"was the fact we were on a corner lot, and barely had room for our camper and truck.

Dale Johnson

It's not free. There is a $15 vehicle fee. If you intend on going a lot, you can purchase a pass. If you live nearby, I recommend the annual pass. I took my daughter and dog to camp in a tent campground. Clean bathrooms and clean showers. Plenty of hot water. The tent sites have LANTERN POSTS! Plenty of room for my gigantic 8 person tent. (I like to have room.). You can reserve camping spots online at recreation.gov. It is 30 min from DC, depending on traffic. There is a dedicated bike lane for a large part of the paved road, and a lot of hiking trails.

William Mickens Sr.

Nice place to get away from it all right down the street. Don't even seem like you are anywhere near civilization

Olivia D

Trails well marked, biking trails on and off road nice. Camping sites, cabins and amenities nicely kept. Birding, wildlife, and parking is dependent on time of day.

Cecilia Carroll

Wonderful bike ride on the path.

Doug Sheldon

Great group and family camping and many miles of scenic trails.

Jason Brown

I always love going to this park to participate in the Nature Bridge program!

Mister Dan

Love the unlimited trails here. Great walks/jogs, lots of hills to get the blood pumping.

Sabre Schnitzer

I probably humped 40 miles through here while at Marine Corps Basic School. The absolute best training program on the planet. Went in running 21 minute three miles and left running sub 17 minute three miles. All through the lovely PWC Forest Park.

Robert McPherson

Beautiful park but close to the highway. I could hear lots of vehicle traffic my entire hike.

Araceli Calderon

The best park of the area, beautiful and few choices to where you can start to walk.

Logan Kreider

Incredible ”hidden” gem! With 15,000 acres it’s hardly hidden, but not crowded at all!

mindy logar

Did one short shady trail that went to water woth the dog when it was 100° out. Hit the visitors on the way out for a passport stamp and the ladies room. Both were well maintained and it looks like a good spot for camping as well.

George M. Robinson Sr.

I love great parks!

Jeanine Grant

Small tight spots on asphalt Asphalt is not natural in forest..

Jonathan Carpenter

I've been coming to this park for years. Lots of trails from very easy (walk along a level path) to moderate difficulty (some scramble and places with narrow and potential slick rock steps). I've brought dogs and kids and every had a good time. Some very camera friendly locations and the park rangers are very helpful. There is also a large paved loop that's great for road bikes looking to ride without traffic to worry about.

Greg Walker

Nice and quiet place to go to get away and relax

Shaiyah Klein

Great place to go hiking, enjoy nature, spend time with family, etc. Love it

Sandy Adu-Amanfoh

Trail were moderate to jog/walk very clean four different trials to start all end up back to the visitors center. Bathrooms were orderly and surprisingly clean.

Rusty Lingenfelter

A nice park, well worth a visit. Here's a thought, lay out the trails so you can return to your starting point without walking on the road.

Lara Edwards

Amazing park and very well kept.

Frank Riley

Nice trails, a decent quick woodsy scenic drive. Nice playground for my grandson

Marvin Settle

Many people have posted that the sites are too small. Maybe so for large rigs, but was perfect for our 19 foot rig. Plenty of room. Rigs over 24 feet or rigs with slideouts may feel cramped. Clean rest rooms. Friendly staff.

Fredi R

This is a nice little park, so close to home. I usually need to drive a few hours to go camping. It’s not a busy park (at least when I went there) so the campground isn’t overcrowded. The host was very nice and always willing to guide you to the best sites. They supply firewood too! I haven’t tried the backcountry sites but I might on my next trip.

Karen Kester

I only stopped by last minute to get a break from a long car ride and to give my dog some exercise. There's a short 1.5 mile Laurel Loop Trail that has nice shade, isn't too steep but offers some interesting rocky pathways and a brief river view. Got free water refills by the visitor center, after using the neighboring restroom. I didn't explore outside of that one trail but park is very close to I-95, is clean and seems worthwhile of a day visit. Lots of picnic areas. The views aren't much to talk about but it's great to have a green area so close to an interstate. The solitude was appreciated!

Artiful Adventures

Nice place. Very quiet when we were there. They do have a pool as well as a playground. We only stayed the night and didn't do any exploring here. Serxurity guy in the golf cart was super nice. Nice people are awesome.

Panda 6126

Beautiful you should visit

Dustin Potter

This is National Park. Fees apply. Picnic sites, camps, scenic drive, biking, fishing, and hiking. Places to park throughout. Really enjoyed the scenery here and the water. Miles of trails. Plan to return.

R EM

Great place to run, bike, and camp. Lots of shade and so well maintained.

Steve Hutoron

We stayed there6/10-14, the park is fine but the manager Trevor is a total negative. I purchased a sewer article and tried to return it 10 minutes later never used and with the receipt, his employee said I had to contact Trevor. He said all sales are final, I told him I’ll contact the credit card company, he then informed me that was a threat and even though I paid $300 for 5 days I must leave the park.

Andrew McCarthy

Beautiful walking and hiking areas! Also, the park has quite an interesting history. It all gives you an idea of what NOVA looked like before the sprawl ate it up.

A McBee

We'll maintained trails, great area to explore. Trail runners, dog walkers, trail biking.

JWD

This park is a hidden gem. It has everything you will need to get out and appreciate nature and get away from a fast pace DC life.

Jennifer Westbrooks

Went walking around in winter with the kids. It was enjoyable hearing the water running through the woods and enjoying the great outdoors. My husband spotted a black bear, which took off at the first sight of us. Then we saw around 8 deer grazing. The bucks spooked, the doe didn't. We also saw some tracks, which was enjoyable for the kids. We are looking forward to returning in the other seasons!

Samuel Weeks

So many good trails in one park! And a year pass was $30... Way cheaper than most other parks I've been to.

Jim Dean

I'm an overseerer here, a volunteer with the PATC and highly recommend this park. Easy, well marked and maintained trails make for a peace ful weekend trip for any age ability or experience.

Louis Banks

This place is the best so clean and nice environment for the family

Joseph Gallman

I did the Quantico falls trail with two eight year olds. Good trail for the kids down to the water. Trail was blazed very well.

A. Alas

Great place to hold an event. Yearly pass is worth it if you plan on visiting more than once a year.

Mar Al

Great park so nature and beautiful great for picnic

Jeff P

Massive Virginia Squirrels jumping from trees, rumours of buried treasure from bygone era. They say when the Moon is full and the cool evening air floats over the valley, you will see the thickening white fog and smell the sweet smell of corn wafting up from Moonshiners stills.

Pat Casey

I was at the RV park. Lots of trees. Mostly puth thru sites. A 40 foot motorhome barely fits even without tow being detached. Good power, etc. Nice friendly staff. Dawn was great to work with.

Melissa Pierce

A lovely place to enjoy a long walk in the park.

Megan Pociengel

Gorgeous park with tons of trails and camping. Worth the visit!

Jeffrey Gontarek

Great cabins and hikes. The rangers are helpful.

Steve Turnage

My walking and Kayak buddies took a trip to Prince William Forest Park near Quantico, Va. If you like walking or jogging trails this is a great place. Be careful though because this park consists of over 15,000 acres and if you get lost you will need to call the Marines to find you. We walked the Laurel Loop and the Birch Bluff trails and signage was good. Make sure you check out the Visitors Center

Fran Ramsauer

If walt could see it now he would be red faced. Employees are never nice .shame on them.

Viktoria Clark

Every weekend onthose trails!Good natural exercise!

John Penfold

So great to get out and experience nature. My kids love to hike, so that makes it easy to hike the easy, short trails.

Lokke Valverde

Gorgeous place, very green. Pouring rain on us while hiking, it was incredible. A fox ran right passed us. Free entry with our America the Beautiful pass!

Thomas Woods

Great place to camp Only 30 minutes from DC

Brendan Pender

Scenery was beautiful. The 11 mile run was less beautiful. Haha. Good park, the amenities j passed by seemed nice.

Anonymous Blur

Was pretty common, as forests go. However, I was truly impressed by the curtains!

Joey D

Planed on an overnight stop on my way down to Georgia to celebrate the new year with friends. Truck broke down, stayed 6 days. Nice clean quiet RV park. Nice bathrooms, good toilet tissue. Part of the Prince William forest. All the amenities of a national forest in your back yard. Washington D.C. 30min. Away. This review is for the Prince William forest RV park located in the park. Entrance at 16058 Dumfries rd.

Anahi Hernandez

Wonderful place to hike, walk, or camp. If anyone wants a good workout take the hard trails that are posted on the bulletins. Very clean and just watch your step.

John Refoy

Big park, not very crowded and very isolated. Lots of trails and campgrounds.

Monkey Target93

One of the neatest places I have been. Camping sites are phenomenal, and trails are abundantly, as well as well marked.

Derek Langway

Just an awesome example that hiking, biking, and trail running in northern Virginia isn't dead.

Lisa M. Reed

The trails are very nice. My family and I hiked on the Laurel Loop Trail. We were able to do the trail with two toddlers and a pregnant woman. Very easy and very nice. The park had plenty of places to use the bathroom on and off of the trails. We plan on coming back often.

Angela Perkins

We had a baby shower at the pavilion and it was really nice. Fun for all.

Dan Convery

Nice getaway from the nova stress

Spiritous

We came here later in the day and didn’t see anyone else along the trails that day. Absolutely beautiful place to hike. The scenic drive is worth the time too. Very easy hiking, dirt/mud trails with some roots here and there but on the easier side none the less as far as incline and terrain go.

Tana Younger

Great trails, well maintained, clean.

T Clark

Well marked trails. Good parking & bathrooms

Naim Lee

Heritage Festival was a great time! Good event for the kids.

Kerry Houston

Beautiful place to visit and hike although it's not for those who don't like uphill hiking ha ha. It was a challenge for this old girl to keep up with a my marine cousin.

George Farrar

Super safe biking path. The twelve mile circuit from the main parking lot, through the park, and back includes a few challenging hills. Park adjacent to the dedicated, paved bike path and pedal several miles out and back through relatively flat, beautiful parkland.

Paul Sweeney

Love the Cabins for large groups!

Jon F

Beautiful park perfect for hiking and picnics. All the trails that I've been on were well maintained and flat which made for easy walking. The visitor center staff were welcoming and helpful. It costs $15 per vehicle to enter the park, however, a year's pass is only $30 and very quickly recoups its value for frequent visitors.

Justin Bailey

Always a nice visit to the park. Very well maintained

Shelly Coyne

Beautiful park!! Lots of trees and birds and clean air. Well kept pool and bathhouse. We feel safe here.

John Blair

Went back for the first time since I was a kid yesterday. Took my kids with me like my father used to do with us. Two kids of infinite energy and distraction were suddenly entranced, breathing in the smell of the forest, listen as we talked and walked down the trail along side the creek, learning about trees and flowers from their mom, utterly amazed at the size of the biggest trees, of the over arching ones that bend like a giant arch of some fantasy world, of the water and the ever satisfying ker-plunks throwing a big rock makes, of racing sticks, of seeing a little collar grass snake, or a beetle, or a frog that jumped away into the water when they got close... It was everything I remembered and hoped it would be, all over again. My dad used to put three bottles of cream soda into the creek at a certain crook, where they wouldn't disturb anything, about half way up the hike we'd take to the falls. We'd walk and hike and talk and see the falls and when we were hot and sweaty and dry on the way back the creek water would have made the drinks ice cold and some how extra special. Maybe next time I'll do something like that, though we're more of a water bunch, special tastes and treats are something to remember when they're my age. Kids made it farther than I thought they might for their first trip, looking forward to next time - and so are they! This park is one of my favorite places in the world, just driving through the scenic route, and getting back to the forest, it made things better. Thank you.

Chuni Swint

Very beautiful place. Nice trails. Very clean restrooms.

Sean S

My wife and I came to the park on a Saturday after shopping to eat our lunch, get some air, and distraction from everyday life. This park is not any different, other than in terms of its size (it’s bigger), than any other park in Greater Washington area. Same dull nature, rotten leaves, logs, etc. however, they make you pay $15 at the entrance even if you are Virginia resident. I don’t know what they are charging money for, it’s not even well-maintained, with too much debris on trails. I understand that people who have never seen any real nature would think that this is a “beautiful park”. If I did not have to pay for entrance, I would give it a 3 star review, at the most.

Nichole Thornhill

Nice place to get out of the city. Lots of easy hikes.

Musa Murawih

Great place to hike, picnic, or just be close to nature. Just a side note: this is a national, not a county, park that does not have the word “national” in its name, and instead is named apparently after the va county where it is located. But I guess who cares. We just hike and enjoy

Tracy Ketch

So beautiful. Nature at its best.

Dick Nicholson

Miles of green woods with even more miles of trails. Maybe our own stupidity, but we had a hard time getting oriented on the trails around the visitors center. The trails were marked well with colored blazes, so once we were on one it was okay. But the cool woods were incredible on a 90+ degree day in early summer in northern Virginia. Babbling brooks, gentle breezes and the heady odors of the forest, and not far from DC: good way to restore your equilibrium. And all for the price of admission to a National Park.

Jean Wilkinson

Took my class on a field trip here. The park is beautiful and the staff were outstanding. I highly recommend a visit.

Laura Schoonover

Nice Hiking trails

Sj Munshi

We went for the Dare to be Square, and it was so much fun. The location was great. Just, there are a lot of spiders.

Jack Sherfield

Had a wonderful day with the family...clean, beautiful, just a relaxing experience.
