Nice place to walk and explore nature. Also great paths that aren't sketchy. Very family oriented
First visit to this lake. Will definitely visit again. It so serene and peaceful. Easy to get lost in the beauty of nature.
The lake is beautiful! It changes with the seasons always giving lively views. One lap on the inner loop puts you over a mile. There's just enough incline to challenge your muscles. Pavement is wide enough for walkers, bikers, skateboarders, etc. Well kept and clean. Safe.
Beautiful ambiance! Great workout. Not too congested and good parking. Favorite place to zen out.
Always a great place to walk, ride, read, relax, etc. Thousands of water lilies blooming during the season. Quite a nice oasis within a very busy area
If you go during the winter time, the frozen lake is gorgeous. I stepped and almost fell in but it was a great experience. The lake is beautiful during the summer and this was my first time during any winter.
It's always calm and relaxing
Nice trails, fishing, bike paths. Great for families or singles.
Very nice lake with asphalt walking path for bicycles and pets on leashes too.
I love to walk around the lake. It's beautiful and people are friendly. Well kept and I will continue to utilize the facility.
It's a beautiful park with a vrry nice path around the lake. Negatives are parents not controlling their kids and kids literally running into people on their bikes! Was sad to see people picking tons of daffodils today instead of leaving them for us to view.
Great place for a walk or run!
I Love this place so much. They should name it lake Mar Kraw.! The Path continues towards Riverdale and beyond all the way to DC. If your a Bike Rider it's a great challenge for all levels. Watch out for rude riders who are trying out for the Tour De France on a walking path!
Wonderful little place with a lake to fish in and a good walking trail around the park. Great place to bring a family for an afternoon walk.
Great hiking trails here. Had a wonderful day fishing and hiking.
Nice asphalted foot path goes around the lake and great views of the water with plenty of wildlife to watch. The parking lot is spacious and easy. Great space to spend some time in nature.
Is good
Great for a jog, family friendly, beautiful water
Nine place to exercise amd walk.
Lake is beautiful in sunset. The trails are good for walking , biking and running . There are good spots where you can just sit and relax
Gorgeous lake and trail. Highly recommend it!
Very scenic place to visit and take a walk. I went to take pictures and got some unbelievable results! Will try to post a few later.
Nice for a walk
Very serene place! Great place to walk or run
It's a great place to walk and talk with THE ANCIENT OF DAYS ! Good and peaceful on a Sunday morning
Nice place to walk run ride bikes and see a few animals
Stocked with rainbow trouts in Spring and Fall. Filled with bluegills during the Summer.
Nice park for walking or bike riding. Fishing available. *WRNING* Some cyclists go too fast. No bells or horns to warn the walkers. Creates a dangerous situation.
Nice park. Beautiful grounds. Good fishing piers.
Just a loop around on the bike before a ride to Anacostia on the bike.
Beautiful beautiful park..... I love walking here! Id recommend the install of a small kids park but other than that.... Its great.
Always peaceful . Water is clear , you can walk up look down and see the vegetation/reefs . Bluegill and bass chasing your bait . Great place to picnic and or exercise ANDD THE HAVE GAZEEBOS (NEVER CROWDED) ,, PLUS DEVICE CHARGING STATIONS . My girlfriend always begs to go with me there since its so nice buuuuut...i just want to fish..dont jugde me .
Short walk, well kept
If you stress jogging is the best
Beautiful park - quite noisy
I run around the lake every Saturday morning. I loved this since its calm and quiet.
Nice park to work-out or just go for a walk and enjoy nature. Bring a camera/binoculars to see & photograph wildlife. Trail will take you to Univ of MD or Bladensburg Waterfront Park or an Ice Rink and an Airport.
Beautiful
Wonderful natural get away in Metro DC. So easy to get away from everything, except Metrorail. After a few minutes, you zone out the train. Marked asphalt trail, 1.4 miles. Plus shorter trail. Gazebo.
♥️
Fantastic walk. Great weather with peaceful surrounding and a serine sunset around the lake.
Easy bike ride close to downtown college park.
The best walk. At this time the lake look spectacular
Lake Artemesia is a beautiful, peaceful lake surrounded by a lovely park! The trees, plant, water lilies, flowers, and even the benches and the gazebo are well-maintained. You can also enjoy the view of ducks, birds, geese, and other animals. I'm so in love with this place!
It is a nice pond with a paved walking path around. Parking lot is very close. The park itself is buried behind the neighborhood but you can see and hear the Metro line from the park. We came to try out fishing. Though we did manage to catch a small mouth bass, it took nearly 2 hrs with barely any bites. Lovely place to walk or ride bikes/scooters, got to see a beaver eating lily pads (super cool), but not much for fishing luck.
Beautiful location. Great for biking or walking. Only downside is all paths are paved and so no dirt running trail.
It's really beautiful, so you just need to leave the park before it's even dark or near it. The local police will issue you a $40.00 parking citation, whether it's completely dark or not. It's located right next to the station and it's something that they're all for.
Beautiful. Peaceful. Serene. Calming. Places like this always bring out things in me I didn't know were there--or that I didn't want to admit were there.
Nice bike/walk trail
Great views, paved walkimg path around the lake, benches and gazebos for picnics.
Relaxing
This is the best place to go and collect yourself to reflect to enjoy the out doors
I love this lake. You can always see wildlife, water land or sky. If you walk around near sunset, you can see bats zipping around. Just be sure to park where you won't get ticketed. They give tickets after sundown
Lovely recrational area
It's a VERY great park!!!! Very beautiful scenery.
Heron, egret, ducks, Martin's, eagles, fish, flowers, persimmon trees.
Nice walking circuit trail; can choose your own adventure (the length of the circuit you take). Many scenic overlooks and benches to sit on for rest. Even being on the outside of the Metro train and hearing it pass by gives one a new appreciation for it--noise and all. Has a nice women's restroom with toilet paper and hot water and soap. Only thing missing is the paper towels instead of air dryer (or at least a working air dryer).
Peaceful place!
beautiful place.
I've gone here with friends and on dates. All involved seem to love this place and it's tucked off in a place by itself. Beautiful scenery and the wildlife is nice to see too.
The park is beautiful. There are birds, trails to take pictures, jog, ride a bike and have a great time with the family. The trails connect with multiple roads for easy access. They city park and recreation added Yoga, 5K runs and a variety of activities for all walks of life. They also have volunteers in addition to their staff to maintain the park.
Good place for weekend visit.
Good place to walk, ride bike, or enjoy a concert.
Absolutely beautiful trail.
It is beautiful with paved walkpaths that we share with bicycle enthusiasts.
Great place for a morning jog or walk. Also, group yoga from 9-10am on Saturdays
Nice area ,nice walkway around the lake.
Nice little park with a paved trail around it.
It is a nice little late to take a walk, run, or just enjoy nature. Lots of wildlife to enjoy and it is a great loop for running it walking.
Soooo peaceful
Beautiful & great activities - yoga, kayaking, jogging, etc.
Good for walking dogs and exercise. Police Department is just next to the lake. Safe area for relaxing and enjoy the time with family.
Excellent park for biking
Island of nature in the city.
Nice place to walk. Have to watch out for the bikers. Some go pretty fast.
Beautiful but needs maintaining...
Well maintained, neatly paved trails for indulging in a leisurely walk, stroll, roll, run, skate or bike. Lake is periodically stocked for "put and take" trout fishing (fishing licence is required). Picturesque sunset views. Abundant geese.
Doing my music video shoot out here. Perfect lake sceneries
Nice place to clear my head
Quit and peaceful. Nice walk around the water. Just hated hearing the metro every few minutes. Wide path and easy to share.
Peaceful beautiful great place to work out
I love coming to this place. So beautiful, peaceful and serene. I like to come here gor quiet walks or for jogs. They have a few trails.
If you live the outdoors this is the place for you. Walking trails, bike trails, and amenities that make your visit pleasurable for adults and children.
Beautiful lake BUT Park rangers are ALL EXTREMELY RACIST!! THEY WILL SKIP EVERY WHITE PERSON AND COME ASK ME FOR MY FISHING LICENSE EVERY TIME I VISIT!! THEY DID THE SAME TO ME AND A COUPLE OF SPANISH GUYS AS WELL WHEN I FIRST VISIT. TRUMPS AMERIKKKA ***i do have my fishing license, i made sure to get it before i ever went out to this or ANY lake to fish to avoid issues***
Beautiful lake I ever seen!
Peaceful and quiet..
It's peaceful, great biking, hiking, strolling area.
Nice and quite. Birds, snakes, squirrels, nature hikes around the lake.
This was right in the neighborhood where I rented a room in Berwyn Heights for over a year from January 2017 to March 2018. It was my go-to hike and run spot. Tranquility abound. Loved it very much.
Agreed open nature's public space. The bike paths / walking paths are amazing. Such a variety of species to be observed.
A hidden gem of natural delight. Trails circle a serene fishing lake. Flora and fauna abound. Trail is for walkers, joggers and bikers. Canoes for rent as well. Restroom facilities. Yoga at the lake offered Saturday mornings at 9am.
Wonderfully Peaceful & Tranquil Atmosphere
Paved trails, fishing and benches & gazebos galore for when you need a rest. There is even a solar phone charging station near the entrance. Yoga in the park on Saturday mornings
The walk is very nice, but it can get crowded on warm afternoons. Unfortunately, despite periodic clean- ups, alot of windblown trash has accumulated. And the dog-waste from oblivious and irresponsible owners is a prevalent eyesore. Otherwise, a visit is a great activity for all ages.
Love the vibes, amazing scenery, perfect
A walk around the lake is all it takes
One of my favorite places. Most beautiful
It's a real fantasy, perfect for all !!
Always a pleasurable experience
Y need to choose the parking place carefully. Some places are not interesting at the park.
Great nature area, and very well maintained. Has many multi-purpose paths, and the parts through the woods are very easy to follow. Lots of wildlife thought the park and fishing is allowed. Highly recommend for a quick visit.
Lovely park for walking and fishing
Great for a walk to tire out some kids.
Love this place!! Beautiful lakes with many beautiful and scenic trails. Beautiful birds, ducks and geese. Friendly people, pets love it as well!
Had great morning walking and fishing.
I love the place
I love to fish, bike, and walk at Lake Artemesia. It's perfect for a break, rest, and relaxation.
Ok, so when the weather is spectacular, and is anytime after 2:30, you cannot park in that tiny lot, but there is street parking. also, there are plenty of walking trails and plenty of tranquil scenery. Is very much a family-friendly Park
Love going here to bike. Good trails and views. Also a nice picnic spot. Beautiful views over the lake at sunset. Nice any time of year really. Plenty of benches to sit on. There are bridges that go over the water. Bathrooms.
Great views any time of year. Public restrooms are clean and accessible. Nice to have distance markers painted on the trail that goes around the lake.
Beautiful surprise
Nice, long paved trails around man made lakes/ponds. Crowded in the evenings. Plenty of bench seating and gazebos. Public restrooms and water fountain
Great place for exercise walks, jogging, bicycling, rollerblading, birding - for people of all ages.
Trail around lake
Fishin
It's a sweet lake, what more do you need to know?
Fun to take walks at
I love riding my bike everyday in this park
Great please to go for a walk or run with your family, there’s usually people skating, biking, people walking their dogs like i do myself, it’s a beautiful and peaceful place to relax AND BURN SOME CALORIES lol
During Spring Bird Migration, you will see dozens of different species so it's a good place to go visit.
great for Walks or bike rides for the family. Also you can fish there. parking is free..There is a stream you can go to and relax.
Nice trail for a walk or a run. Many people were fishing as well.
Parks & recreation let the weeds an grass get to much especially in the water can't go fishing
Excellent! I love it!
Beautiful scenery. Nice place to visit if you want to explore nature or have a little quiet time praying or reading.
Great atmosphere. Very relaxing
Great park with lake and asphalt trails all over
Nice place
Small little natural habitat for plants and animals hidden in the woods around dc
Beautiful lake to do your daily walk around
It's about a 2 1/2 mile walking path, and great fishing spot! There's a new dock as well! Perfect family fun day. You can also find the bathrooms always open and easily accessible.
Always amazing to sit by the water.
Great walk for a stroller, bike or a run. Well paved and lake is beautiful with lily pads.
So tranquil and lovely. Even on a chilly, wet, cloudy day. The path is paved, so makes exercising easy.
Great place
Nice for a man-made lake. A bit overcrowded though
It's a nice place to clear your head and walk around the lake
One of my favorite places to visit in the warm months. If you need water in your life, you'll love it.
Its a good place to smoke a blunt
amazing place!
It's a nice peaceful place full of wildlife. It's a great place to walk, run, or jog. It's also a very photogenic place so it's definitely a photographer's paradise.
Nice space to walk, bike, run. Creepy doing it alone.
It's very nice in Spring and Summer.
The best park in the County
Love the area, great places for a picnic, running
Beautiful, well maintained park. Man-made lake with lovely overlooks. We had our engagement photos here and do not regret it! This trail connects with the Anacostia watershed trail, and the East coast Greenway. Lots of avian variety and is very clean. You can find fishers, cyclists, walkers, and joggers on your brisk walk!
This lake is only good for a run but other activities such as fishing is not great
The trail is so smooth i take my skate board and its amazing
Sweat, rollerblading, baby's crying, fish catch son of a B,
Great place for running or cycling, or having a lunch outing! Connects right to the Piney Branch and Northeast Branch Trails-- I've ridden from here and connected to other trails leading to D.C. (National Mall!), Silver Spring, and Wheaton. The College Park airport is nearby, and Lake Artemesia itself is a very picturesque location.
Great for walking/running/biking. Wide walkway. Bathroom available. One lap 1.35 mile.
I went on a walk with my friend here. The lake was astonishing beautiful
Beautiful serene place to get away from the busy city. Also a good place for bird watching and fishing (check rules before going for fishing). Safe to wander even during nights. Sunrise at artemesis lake is mesmerizing.
This is a nice, clean park right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of College Park. It’s not hiking per se, but it is a fun place to walk and take in the beautiful outdoors. All the trails are paved and are about 10 feet wide. Perfect for walking, running, biking, or taking the dog out for a stroll. Benches line the walkways, there’s a couple of gazebos and even a fishing pier. Even a restroom with running water! The park is kept clean, and the 30-acre lake has about a mile-long loop trail going around it with awesome views. The cool thing is, these trails connect to Indian Creek Park, Paint Branch Stream Valley Park, the Paint Branch Golf Course, and many other places. I walked to the Paint Branch Trail and began my journey to Lake Artemesia from there, so I can’t comment on the parking situation others have mentioned. Contrary to another review, this place does have operating hours – it’s open daily from sunrise to sunset. If the po-po catch you here after those hours, you WILL get a ticket. Count your blessings local residents and thank your city for providing and maintaining this wonderful resource. Oh! I almost forgot, there’s at least one solar powered USB charging station for your mobile phone. How cool is that???
One of my favorite parks in the area. Nice decent-size lake; trees and plants around the lake; water lilies and other flowers; lots of birds; well-maintained; benches and small pavilions beside the lake; good for walking/biking/fishing; free parking.
Very nice place to relax and walk around a big lake surrounded by many trees. It also has a small parking lot.
Tranquility.
Beautiful place
