Here you will be able to see the feddbacks of real people who consume the products of George Washington Memorial Parkway (Park) in the state of Maryland.
Nowadays the business has a rating of 4.5 stars over 5 and the rating is based on 2932 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is practically the best one, and it's founded on a very high number of scores, so we can be pretty sure that the rating is very credible. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Park corresponds to the category of National park.
It's so beautiful, but even more when the cherry blossoms are in bloom!
Beautiful road from downtown DC to Virginia
I love this park. I really do. I'm a local and I ride the Mount Vernon Trail all the time. The view is beautiful, the park is clean, and most trail users are good people having a good time. But I can't give it 5 stars because the trail needs serious maintenance, hasn't gotten it for years, and as time has gone by, it's become more and more difficult to ride on quite a few sections. I can't even imagine someone skating or scootering in those places. If the National Park Service would fix the parts of the trail that need it, they'd easily get 5 stars from me.
Love this place! Everytime I come here I'm amazed with the planes flying over my head. It's a great spot for a pick-nic or watching a sunset! You can also see the Washington monument and the Capitol! Highly recommended!!!
It's a convenient parkway to head up river to the beltway/495 but in serious need of repaving.
Great road to do a scenic drive.
From the sailng marina, Dangerfield Island, south of the airport to Key Bridge the view of DC is the best and Grandest available.
Pretty, green, and offers a great view of Washington D.C. and the Pentagon.
Very pretty driving. No big trucks. Generally people are good drivers during the day. At night it can get testy. Otherwise an appealing road to look out the window.
A nice road. Very useful for getting from over there to somewhere else. Sometimes it's busy, other times, not so much. Open 24 hours. No public restrooms. Hot in the summer....well you know.
How does one rate a road? It's a beautiful drive despite bumper to bumper traffic. You get used to it.
A fantastic place to go and visit for any locals or visitors. Make sure to come early to find parking or get metro to rosslyn and walk a little to get there
Beautiful road to commute but road pot holes repairs are rough, making for loud bumpy ride.
There's always an interesting animal or view at the C&O canal near Anglers Inn.
I give it 2 stars only because of the beautiful scenery, especially the lookout points however the roads are terrible
Very dangerous roadway. People will pull out in front of you. Beware of the pedestrians and bicyclists that cross anywhere. Bike trail is treacherous with walkers, dog walkers, strollers .Let's not leave out the bikers who believe they are in a race and everyone is in their way .
Scenic parkway along the Potomac River with beautiful views of DC and the park along the river. There are a few lookout spots along the parkway if you want to stop and take pictures. Traffic can get really bad, so do not drive it during rush hour to avoid being stuck bumper to bumper.
Didn't much visit as opposed to drive along since it is a highway. Often lots of construction and way too much traffic.
It's out dated but seniors seem to like it
Nice view, little traffic and lights. Road is a little ruff in spots. Watch for dips and cracks, especially on a motorcycle.
Well maintained and just a beautiful walk.
You can feel the history
Great walking trail south of 14th St bridge, passes thru gravelly point where people watch the planes, Reagan airport, the marina, and Alexandria. Connects with pedestrian access to the Woodrow Wilson bridge. Great hike. Lots of bicycles especially in rush hour times. The one water fountain was turned off.
We accidentally walked here. Nice place
Fabulous place to visit and reflect
It's a great place to stop in stretch after driving for a long time
The parkway is pretty but the roads are riddled with potholes and has had sinkhole issues. One of the potholes destroyed a wheel on my vehicle and cost be a ton of money to get fixed.
Best place to eat play with the kids take your boat your JetSki and watch airplanes takeoff and landing
An amazing place to visit to learn about the history of USA.
Great place to enjoy your scenery. Also bike trail, basketball court. Very peaceful.
It's a parkway for starters so set your expectations super low. And maintain a safe traveling distance on the parkway folks. Everyone wants to get to their destination safely. So no tailgating. Please.
Lovely place to walk, ride bikes, or stroll with a restless baby. Beautiful animal life and a pair of magnificent American eagles. Picnic tables in certain areas.
If you want to go for a ride with a beautiful view, this is the road to take. You can see the beautiful Potomac River, visit Old town Alexandria and Mount Vernon for the Washington House. Check for some American Eagles in the trees when you exit Old Town and look towards the golf club going South.
The whole majestic and historic story of our nation is here. Glorious masterpieces of art, architecture, symbols and symbolisms (You should really check out the meanings behind the symbols and how it shows a part of who we are, have been, and be.) everywhere. There is something here for everyone: architecture for architecturally interested, art for artists and art lovers, historical things everywhere, museums, tons of religious churches from all over the world, basilicas, temples, mosques, etc. Thus is definitely a place to go.
Wonderful road, some of the scenic overlooks are over grown and obstruct the view. However timing is everything here. We came into Washington on a Thursday around 3-5pm traffic was great going into DC but leaving was bottle necked for miles. We left DC Sunday afternoon and the traffic again was great by coming in was heavy but moving
Beautiful trails along the Potomac River for running, biking, jogging, or leisurely strolls. South of Old Town Alexandria this is the scenic route and it truly is. It's easy to see why George Washington loved this area and owned much of the land here. Great place to exercise, relax, or for bird watching. I've spotted beautiful cranes along the southern end of the parkway. Deer too. Excellent spots for picnicking along the trail. Perfect place for photographers and artists. There are free parking areas all along the southern end on the north side. South side is residential. The parkway dead ends at George's and Martha's, absolutely magnificent, Mount Vernon Estate. The northern section of the parkway has scenic views high above the Potomac River across from Georgetown University. There are a few free parking areas along the northern side which fill up quickly on good weather weekends. I don't believe there are trails in this section as there are along the south end. Just great scenic views from rocky cliffs. These are probably the highest points in the DC region.
It's scenic and convenient, except for that interchange to/from 395.
Absolutely a Beautiful highway....awesome views...westbound has pulloffs stop park get out and view landscape...also real history regarding the first president and the highway...check it out...
Very pretty highway in the spring summer and fall, lots of trees on either side make it tunnel-like
Just looking at this excites me. Refreshing, inviting and relaxing. Just a tranquil day listening to water cascading down the rocks. A much needed break from D. C. Close by and well worth the tim.
Parkway Roads are horrible. Somebody in charge should take care of the roads and I'll leave it at that.
The road leaves something to be desired. The National Park Service does many wonderful things but owning public roads does not seem to be one of them. Sink holes shut down part or all of the road for days to months on end.
What can you really say nice about the parkway?!?
Went there when they had free admission during Presidents day. This place is very historic and you could easily spend more than one visit seeing and learning so much. I think it's worth the price of admission too. They have a nice restaurant there that serves food from that period in time. They have a less expensive food court too. Actually you don't have to pay to enjoy the place. You can go to the restaurant or food court as well as the gift shop and even the lobby area for free. Plus driving there is a nice ride.
Great place to watch plains land on Reagan Airport.
If you are looking for a way to avoid 495 and 395, this is it. Beautiful and scenic.
I love to go for a walk. Is a historical and relaxing place.
The breeze is wonderful and the bike riders are friendly. Just make sure you can hear their bells and/or them saying "on your left".
Amazing... Good place to enjoy with family
We thoroughly enjoyed this park. Great for walking, biking, or picnicking. The memorial views are fantastic along with the water views. There are kayaking, boating activities near by along the water. We enjoy watching the planes taking off and landing within minutes of each other. A must visit park
It's alright. The trails and maps are not clearly marked. One has to ask the native hikers for advice. There are some cool moments along the route.
Scenic, sure. But F*** everything about the traffic in every part of DC. Can't enjoy any of it because you're too worried about rear ending someone, or someone doing the same to you.
The most photographed memorial
The roads are in horrible shape. Nothing ever changes. It's a mess.
A nice place that's peaceful but close to home. I love walking along the trail or parking by the river and enjoying the view.
Gorgeous drive and well kept. Peaceful and pretty.
Love the scenic view of our nation's capital.
As a national park, the Parkway is crippled by a four lane high speed highway occupying it's center. The Park Service refuses to install traffic lights at it's main pedestrian entries at Belleview and Tulane as being "...inconsistent with the natural ambiance..." of a four lane concrete bottomed river of high speed steel. The bike path is heavily used by both commuters and nature lovers. Walkers should stay to the right and people on wheels should give a polite but audible warning when passing. The path is bereft of destinations other than picnic grounds, with the major exceptions of Old Town Alexandria (all the amenities of a small city, right on the river) and Mount Vernon itself.
Great park with terrific views, just get out before the mosquitoes get ya .
The view is Gorgeous! But the roads are terrible!
Historic road that (hopefully) can never be changed. A nature preserve that you can drive- enjoy!
In desperate need of repairs. Potholes are craters that is capable of swallowing small cars. If you like living on the edge, go on it on a motorcycle as I did.... just do so at your own risk... I have warned you
This is one of the preeminent cruises in the U.S. I love this route. With a little more input from the City, they could improve some broken roads and obstructive brush to make it a serious tourist draw.
It's a road, you seriously want me to provide review for a road? Well ok, here goes. The pavement generally smooth but like any federally owned property it is in a bit of disrepair. There are pot holes. The pavement is black like most asphalt roads. It goes from Mt Vernon (you know George Washingtons home) in the south. It's not really that far south though like that south of the border palce in South carolina with the giant sombrero. Any it joins the beltway just south of the legion bridge. Notable sightseeing sights along the way Mount Vernon, the potomac river, old town Alexandria, and the cia.
Very beautiful place!
Such a beautiful gateway to Washington. Shows the dire need to maintain our infrastructure. Has fallen into such a state of disrepair!
if u r a George Washington fan....this is a place for u..,great views of Alexandria and DC
These pictures do not do it justice. This scenic route is absolutely Beautiful, Trees all around as if through they are trying to embrace you as you are driving.
My husband and I walked on this parkway. We really enjoyed ourselves even though it was quite warm that day. It is a lovely area. Because of the path, walkway and the water, it truly is a nice place, beautiful area to visit! I would recommend it to anyone! As we were walking back to our car, about 2 miles, the sun was going down, setting. It was beautiful! Very enjoyable! Thank you for this lovely area in Virginia! Melissa G T
I really like the promenade.
We really enjoyed this green oasis.
My daughter made the full journey and she loved it. We just sat down for them to make the hike. Good workout. Full of history.
One of my all-time favorite roads. The views of the Potomac River and Washington DC and all of it's monuments are amazing and it's a great way to make an entrance to such a neat city. The traffic can be bad at certain points depending on the time of day, but it typically moves at a good rate throughout the day. Also, if you were not aware, it's a National Park. So it's run by the National Park Rangers and operates in accordance with all the other National Monuments. There is no fee though and it's free.
As far as bridges go,it's a fine bridge. Not much to report here,as it is just a bridge. Have I mentioned it is a bridge ? Bridge.
Lots to do in this here fine stretch of road!
One of the most beautiful and calming places in Alexandria. Whether you want to drive or ride your bicycle (on Mount Vernon trail), it's a relaxing experience.
I really liked the falls in flood stage.
Great for alternative driving.
In terms of scenery and vistas, this is possibly one of the most beautiful drives in the United States. Drive through a mature forest surrounded by wildlife, including a pair of bald eagles. Take in views of the iconic monuments and buildings of DC and Arlington as you descend from the Great Falls of the Potomac, along a route George Washington himself often rode as a young man. Adjoining Turkey Run park is a serene place to relax and enjoy nature. Or watch aircraft pass close overhead follow the river to Reagan National Airport. 4 stars instead of 5 because the road pavement is maintained to a third world srandard. Massive potholes everywhere, "washboard" road surface, and a six foot sinkhole just opened up that has forced the closure of a lane.
The parkway is one of the best scenic drives you are going to make. The downside is that it can become congested easily if there is an accident or a downed tree. There are not many good indicators as to whether there is an existing hazard until you are already into the backup. The parks along the parkway are well-kept and are always nice for walking.
Very cute little park. Mostly paved out light gravel trails. Had some minor troubles with mud, but it had just rained so it's to be expected. The other visitors were nice and it was an all in all wonderful visit. Our only problem was with the bathrooms being closed
Amazing place to sit down and chill. Also a very nice place for plane spotting if you're into it.
Ah it is a breath taking, I enjoyed it all around the years, all the seasons . Go for walk you will love it .
Most of the time this is a scenic route into dc but occasionally there is traffic and other insanities but it is the way to get into dc in style and enjoy the morning commute to one busy part of dc. Aside from driving biking there is awesome and walking around
Always fun expect during traffic
This is an iconic place. Seeing the Marines Momorial in person is amazing. It's one of those experiences in life where it makes you feel small and humble. We all need to feel that way every so often, and this place can make it happen. The grounds are bigger than you might think, and it's location being part of a surrounding neighborhood might surprise you as well. Parking might be a little scarce, but isn't too bad most times.
It's a lovely drive. Probably the best view of DC as you drive along the river.
Great place to view July Fourth fireworks. But, it seemed little further from what I have expected.
Had a good time until park police came out and kicked us out. Law enforcement doesnt have to be so rude. We'll kindly leave if its past hours
Great place to chill with your girl or just to get away.
One of the great All-American roads. Beautiful scenery all along the way, and multiple important landmarks such as George Washington's home, Mount Vernon.
Beautiful place to walk along! Such a beautiful drive as well!
OBEY THE SPEED LIMIT. Tickets are very expensive. I gave it 5 stars. If you've driven anywhere in D.C. you will welcome this route. It's a park way. It is green and plush and a 2 lane one-way for a few miles.
I'm pretty sure this is just a road
Traffic is horrible here, and they need to increase the speed limit.
I like that there is hardly anyone around. Very peaceful park. I really like being able to see these monuments. Very clean with outstanding views.
I wish they would pave this road. It's not fun. Also traffic is horrible. Why am I rating a road? Because Google asked and I know how bad it is.
The ride was just smooth even though there's construction going on.
A beautiful place where you can relax, and on wednesdays that have a wonderful farmer's market.
Nice scenic views, but very bumpy with potholes.
Great views rough road
Very relaxing. Scenic. Beautiful
This is the perfect place for a long run
Beautiful road that stretches from Mount Vernon to Arlington. Great views of the Potomac River. I had the pleasure of running this road during the Wilson Bridge half marathon. It was a bright sunny morning in the fall and between the beautiful colors of the trees and the sun shining off the river, I almost completely forgot what I was doing. Can get a little busy during rush hour since this is also a commuter route. But, if you have time to take your time, it is well worth it.
I love the gw parkway. Beautiful drive along the river. Sometimes you can see a plane, a train and a boat on the same drive! The trifecta!
Rush hours are bad. Scenic over looks are worth a stop. Lots of pot holes and rough pavement.
A great place to take a walk and enjoy the scene. Be mindful from where you are traveling and what time because of traffic.
This is the best and fastest route for me to go the work. So convenient for me to come from md to va. In timely manner.
Despite what you might expect, the falls are much less impressive after a heavy rainfall. They are definitely cooler when the water level is lower.
Beautiful drive along the Potomac and one of my favorites, but poorly maintained. Many potholes. Also avoid going eastbound during morning rush hour unless you like to sit.
George Washington actually came back from the dead to say hi so I appreciated that
A really nice view of Great Falls Virginia
Amazing park near everything, it's close of Maryland, Virginia, and DC. If you want to experience nature nearby this is the place.
Beautiful and silent place, reminds of the brave soldiers who brought laurels to the country....kudos to them
Very cool place to visit, spend outdoors while seeing history
I have always thought that we are so lucky to have this National Park here in the DC area. You must check any part of it out approx. (150 mls.) If you have family and or a dog take them. You can have memorable times there. I understand George Washington commissioned the park. Enjoy.
Beautiful views
There are so many scenic views along this parkway and a few riverside restaurants to try too. I love coming here with my thoughts and a blanket on Saturday mornings
Except for current construction on the parkway, it's a beautiful, scenic route, with several "lookout" along the way were you can stop, get out and take some amazing photos!
This place is really nice for a quick family picnic/get together or relaxing walk. There are basket ball courts and two play grounds for the kiddies.
This road is unlike any other. You drive along the Potomac Rivers Virginia shore and pass numerous overlooks from the high bank. Here you can view DC and MD from places like fort Marcy. Ultimately you will end up in Historic Alexandria, VA if you travel on it to it's Southern termination. On the North the scienic byway ends at rt. 495.
This is such a glorious place to visit! It's amazing how so much of history is within eyeview - the stories - told and untold!
Very beautiful place to visit great view i recommend everyone to go see this site
Finding parking was a pain for me but it was a good place for a casual walk with the kids.
Breathtaking monument in size. The monument is easy to access and located just outside of Fort Meyers and the National Cemetery grounds.
Breath taking place to have a walk!
Great place for some outdoors!
Cool park, no curtains, couldn't find the place in the picture.
One of the most popular attractions of DC and a must for any visitor to the Mall. Remember to use the elevator to ride to the top of the obelisk which offers a spectacular panoramic view of the capitol region. Like all DC public attractions, tickets are free of charge unless you reserve in advance ($1.50 serve fees each, highly recommended for large groups up to three months before visit as it is very popular like the WH tour and can get very crowded year round). Be sure to check out the Jefferson and MLK Memorials across the street in the Tidal Basin.
Great place to get in and out of DC easy access to all Highways 66, 295, 395, 50, and 495
One of the most picturesque spots in DC. You have a wonderful eyeline to the airport, Tidal Basin and now is a good time to head here to see the Cherry Blossoms!
Lots of places to walk and bike and it's free. Also you can drive along the Chesapeake and stop at a bunch of places to picnic.
It a beautiful drive most of the time... some times there are traffic or an accident. For the most part it is generally a relaxing drive. You can fall foliage without having to leave the area and go to the Shenendoahs... it is in your backyard. Along the route... you also have a park and some scenic overlooks.
I was breaking down and was able to pull over in an scenic area. So glad they are there. Nice speed limit 40 to 50 mph and a beautiful view.
Beautiful drive, great views of the city from the Virginia side of the River
Great place to learn history. Loved walking the grounds
Scenic drive in Virginia with stunning views of the river and Georgetown Section of DC!!
If you are willing to take a short risk, like I did, you can definitely view the WU tower from the Parkway and get some truly cool pictures.
The road is horrible to drive on especially the Maryland part of the parkway, you will definitely need a wheel alignment. #WHERESMYTAXMONEY
Awesome to take walks alot of nature
A great park and scenic path along the Potomac river. We like to walk, run and bike it regularly.
Beautiful and peaceful. Nature lovers, visit soon!! You will not regret the drive or parking your car to explore!
Beautiful day to be running up the GWP!
I love this trail! Beautiful scenery. Great place to exercise or relax.
The George Washington Masonic National Memorialis a Masonic building and memorial located in Alexandria, Virginia, outside Washington, D.C. It is dedicated to the memory of George Washington, the first President of the United States and a Mason. The tower is fashioned after the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria in Egypt. The 333-foot (101 m)tall memorial sits atop Shooter's Hill(also known as Shuter's Hill)at 101 Callahan Drive.Construction began in 1922, the building was dedicated in 1932,and the interior finally completed in 1970. In July 2015, it was designated a National Historic Landmark for its architecture, and as one of the largest-scale private memorials to honor Washington.
Great place to visit to see the lovely markers of our united States of America history in close and personal. You will have to visit this place if you are in the area touring some of the numerous pieces of national history. This is one you should not miss.
Nice for hiking. Clean trails. Good for hiking and biking for the most part.
Used to be a great drive. Now it's filled with deep holes that will break your car.
Had a great time with my brother visiting this historic site.
Me and my family loved this place, there is alot to see and do.
This is a road. It has potholes. Often it is the fastest route, but sometimes it is the slowest. Google really wants a review, so here goes.
It is a fine road, but not a fan of it's location. Like, does it have to always take me to dc? Or does it always *have* to go to 495? More variety would be appreciated.
Best way to travel away from the busy streets of downtown dc going to the capital beltway
Beautiful area, nice grounds and statuary
We had a picknick there. For that, it was a good place
Beautiful scenic route.
Lovely park and parkway. Some construction going on which is much needed. Traffic can be terrible at certain times for driving.
