As you know, we do not usually bother to place scores when these are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Park belongs to the category of Amusement park.
Simply because the kids love it, if you're staying for a week or two it's well worth getting a season pass! The kids can have a great time all week or the whole two weeks!!! Well worth the price of there smiles
Fun, but the ride are a bit janky, like the swinging boat one will stop all of a sudden and go in the opposite direction, kinda whiplashed
Was a great day lots of fun things to ride and do
Great place to take kids. Would give a 5 star but prices for rides are crazy. Surrounded by great food, great beach, great views of the ocean.
Had a Jurassic park and walking dead shooter game! Pretty cool. Winning tickets was fun with my son. The prizes seem to be too high/expensive for ticket wins. Makes you wanna play more but spend quite a bit.
A great time and and end cap for summer vacation.
Been coming here since child never disappoints
Fun fun with a beautiful view, fire works, a great place to take children. when you get hot or need a break you can jump in the ocean and cool off. Love it
Palace Playland is a very fun boardwalk park located on none other than Old Orchard Beach! Lots of rides that everyone can enjoy! Sea Viper is a very fun roller coaster as well! Rides are cheap, food is good, and staff are nice! Highly recommended park!
Very hot inside.
So much to do lots of fun
Great amusment park must go in orient palace and arcade alyays choise yellow on the colarama machine it always wins
A lot of fun. The arcade was awesome. The rides were good too!
The park stayed open even in the haze and light rain, because there was enough business to make it worth entertaining the families, like mine, that were looking for something to do on a weekend where most had probably hoped to be in the water but the weather had other plans. This means a lot to me, because we traveled from 2 hours away, for a fun family weekend trip and were bummed when the weather turned sour unexpectedly. I'm glad we still had something fun around to do with my busy 3 year old.
Really expensive, but there's a nice view of the water.
Palace playland has been around forever ots one of the best places in Maine to go, they have tons of arcade games and tons of amazing prize games the ticket prices for prizes are pretty reasonable and the staff is usually pretty great. If you enjoy thrill rides or something as simple as the super slide they have you covered and with the new roller coaster they just built it's a blast for the whole family. I usually go here a couple dozen times in the warmer months and my family loves this place!
Couple machine's didn't work correctly but the staff immediately came over and reset them and we got our tickets... Very hot inside! Could use more fans..
Fun and beautiful. It is right on the beach. Definitely a must do.
Basic arcade. Nothing to really write home about, but decent enough to kill an hour.
Very fun place great place to bring children as well. They throw fireworks in the summer and you can enjoy the beach for free. Lots of different food stands. Carnival type games and rides everywhere. Easy to buy tickets if you need from multiple ticket purchasing stations or a self service machine with credit card I believe.
rides were great, but i remember having my restraints checked maybe once - on the riptide ride. my restraints were never checked on the sea viper, wipeout, and adrenaline. of course i never ended up injured, but.. come on.
Great family friendly park!
My kids love to ge here every year! Feels like their playground!
They don't post closing hours with a reason, and tickets are nonrefundable.
Lots of rides for all ages. Many different options for food from Chinese to Mexican and a huge variety of carnival food. Lots of games and an arcade.
One of my favorite places in the world, I'll forever love this place and all of old orchard.
Drinks where so good andso was the food over looking the water. Super relaxing staff where great there
It's better than it used to be back in the 1980's but it's still dirty and people smoke everywhere. Old Orchard has the nicest stretch of beach in the sate but it's too filthy to enjoy.
They could improve the W.C., considering they made little to no changes to them in 20 years and more. Other than that, it's the typical playland, I'm sure you'll have fun there. :)
Classic oceanfront amusement park. $37 unlimited rides otherwise 7.50 to ride the Sea Viper coaster.
Always a great time! The most amazing view from the ferris wheel.
Great place for families
A good selection of for different ages. Actually, each ride has a height requirement.
It's alright. A little expensive for what it is, but I did enjoy the rides when I was younger. There are some mild safety issues though, nothing that would kill anyone, probably just bruise you.
A fun beach boardwalk! I enjoyed Sea Viper and many of their other rides.
Fun place for the kids while on vacation
Overall the kids had a blast, so I was happy. I would have expected a little bit more for what you pay for the bracelets for the rides though. The rides were over so quickly and the people operating them were less than pleasant. The people doing the majority of the games seemed miserable. There was some great entertainment which helped the experience though!
The kids love a visit to the arcade and carnival games on a cloudy summer day. I think they updated and had more arcade games than I remember. Fun for all and don't forget Lisa's french fries they are delicious!
This place is awesome for kids and adults
This place would be a four or five star place, but there is no organization to anything. The ride operators would let my young child on with my older one who is 5'4 and very responsible one time but not the next time. Some operators gave us issues but not others, the management said it was fine but I did not feel like getting a manager every other ride to let them on. So now I am here for a second time because I bought the two day pass before I knew how the park worked, and my little one is going to leave disappointed again because she can't ride the tilt a whirl. With better operators this would be a great place.
A great place to go while staying in OOB for a fun day with the family. Extremely clean, rides are well maintained, and are reasonably priced. Just make sure if you're going with kids to get them wristbands for unlimited rides, otherwise you'll end up spending a lot more than anticipated.
Wonderful day! It's a bit pricey for the tickets, but it's still worth the money. Many rides very sensational and big enough. In the iconic rides: The Ferris wheel, A large 15-meter roller coaster and the pirate ship. There is also a carousel that you sit in a small raft and you go down 2 water slides high enough .. In short, to advise!
So pretty and lots to do!
This is a great little place for young kids. Great location, prices, I can't find anything wrong with it. It's no 6 flags or Canobie but imagine a scaled down version of a carnival. We are going back this year, looking forward to it!
Fun little beachside amusement park. Mostly basic county fair type rides plus a coaster for around $5 each.
Nice walk big arcade lots of beach
It's a lot of fun, lots of game rides and an arcade. Better at night but that's me
Perfect time of year! Had the whole place to myself
The beach is beautiful this time of year, have to come back when the amusement park opens
So much fun for the kids!
Mostly claw games and over priced but of you wanna kill some time it's fine
Very fun amusement park for small children and for adults. Some of the rides are very extreme and fun
This is one of my favorite places to go in the summer. It may not be the biggest park, but it is right on the beach and has some great rides. The food is what you would expect from a park, which in my mind is one of the reasons for going on a nice day. Make sure to pack extra sunscreen and a significant amount of money for parking though, as it's going to be a long trek for free parking.
Rides are expensive, it is a little crazy, and nothing more than a carnival. I don't know why, but I expected something more from it. Parking is an absolute mess around the area. It was a fine way to spend an evening with my kids, but I don't think I need to go back.
Lots of the games are broken. Over crowded. Staff is young and underpaid. Junk prizes. The kid loves it. Sometimes the broken machines just give you the jackpot.
Great time for the kids
It was a bit on the expensive side but it's nice, the food stands food had NO flavor so go with a restaurant. My husband and I loved the beach!
Still the same as it was 40 years ago, but with new rides! Its a true time machine back to the days of family and face to face times!
Love taking kids and grandkids. A good amount of amusement rides in a small area surrounded by food places, adult beverage places and all in walking distance. Thursday nights at 9:45 fireworks July-August
Fun beachside amusement park and atmosphere but tickets are expensive and not a ton to do
Super expensive but the rides are decent.
It's ok ticket prices are Contradicting... there 1.50 each for a ticket I wanted 20$worth which is. 30 tickets for 20$ I got 14 tickets make sure you haggle them against there sign...
Brings back early childhood memories of the small, family amusement park. Absolutely love it
Great little amusement park. Free to get in. Of course ride tickets add up quick.
Had so much fun at this arcade made me feel like a kid again. My honey was celebrating her 40 birthday. Really is a place that’s fun for ALL ages
Great fun for kids of all ages.
Sometimes New !!! Milk Bubble Tea Good tea good life , Do you want get a shot???
Great rides for the kids and fireworks show on the 4th!
Always a fun family trip, it never gets old.
Lot of fun! but it will cost you $!
So nice for the kids and adults also lots of shops food amazing summer nights
Still the same after all of these years
I love this place so much! One suggestion I have is if a child is a age 4 and under or something like that, they should only need to pay two tickets instead of four to get on the Ferris wheel , also the wipeout is a fun ride but you only go around 4 and a half times for 4 tickets. Not complaining but maby for that amount of tickets you should have 7 times around or like 2 minutes.
Rides great for young kids
Lots of fun. The rides are things you would see set up at a fair, but they're fun. A water ride, a roller coaster, swing ride bumper cars and pirate ship, to name a few. There are a couple of places to buy food, and the closest bathroom is outside the park and costs 50 cents for adults, but free for children under 12. First time I've ever needed to pay to go to the bathroom..
Fun little park. Most rides better suited for kids than adult couples. Arcade had quite a few machines out of order. 50 cents to use bathroom across the street. Log flume was my favorite.
To start, let me say that I am reviewing the arcade only. I've been coming to Palace Playland for my whole life, so it only made sense that I bring my favorite 5 year old here, as well. I was wrong. We went armed with pockets full of quarters and began our quest for tickets. The first game we tried didn't offer credit even after we put in a dollar's worth of quarters! We had to hunt someone down to help. We successfully played the next game, then 3 more games in a row didn't work at all and there was my 5 year old- frustrated, sad, and tired of waiting for someone to help us. They refused to give us our money back for the games that didn't work despite the fact that we got nothing for our money. While they offered a credit on one of the games, if they fixed it, they couldn't fix the broken carousel that our money was stuck in or even offer an apology. Staff was apathetic at best, I'd give it 0 stars if I could. What a total waste of time and money, I highly recommend skipping any kind of trip here unless it's to use the free bathrooms.
Good, relatively small, old-timey amusement park located in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Several kid-oriented rides and enough more thrilling ones to keep the adults interested. The only things missing are a Haunted House and a Tunnel of Love.
Quaint stop right on the beach with amusements for the bigs and littles. It's a tourist area so don't expect great ride prices. Pay for the bracelet instead of tickets if there for several hours. Get pier fries at Bill's!
Fun spot for the kids. Bought wristbands for the kids to enjoy the rides. 15 minutes in the sky opened up and that was it. No refunds!
It's OOB Maine! The beach, the pier, the food, the games and rides what else is there to say?! It's the perfect place for summer fun! Alone, a couple, a group of friends, your bff, your family... The experience... Oh yeah I almost forgot!! - FIREWORKS!
Half the games were out of order, ski ball didn't even give all the balls. Workers there are rude and impolite.
Not enough staff! Its a sunny and gorgeous Sunday, and we are waiting to go on rides because one person is in charge of 2 rides. Unacceptable. They charge enough for tickets that they should be able to staff all rides!
Such a fun place for the whole family.
Me and my family went on vacation here i spent the weekend collecting tickets and when i went to the arcade monday to try and spend them at like 640pm keep in mind this place has been open till about 12am each day leading up to this i get to the foor and see them closing i adk the guy if its ok if i come in and spend my tickets he tells me no i ask again and he says no i know he was just doing his job but it was upsetting to end my vacation with this i was upset they couldnt let me in and get a damn prize after spending probly hundreds at the damn arcade
It's not the greatest beach in the he world, but nostalgia alone gives it four stars. Lisa's and Bill's Pizza are old favorites.
A touch on the expensive side but sometimes it's okay to splurge a bit! The rides are fun and rhe arcade is feirly well kept. The DDR cabs are a touch old and might need some work done, but thats one of my only issues!
Great fun for kids of all ages!
Overpriced, my kids very disappointed when I told them I wouldn't pay $20 for one ride for them both.
This is a typical fair style amusement park. Plenty of rides and games for the kids and is fun just to walk through.
A little over priced compared to other arcades in the area, a lot of the machines are out of order as are the change making machines. Good for little kids.
Its like the real life version of the movie Idiocracy.
Very nice this os the best park . Recomend to get a day pass Go in summer
I have many great memories of growing up in Maine and going to Old Orchard with family members and friends. I moved away but returned recently and brought my young daughter to enjoy the day just like I use to at her age. This is an iconic amusement park and lots of fun to spend time here.
Fun for the kids!! And some adults who are kids at heart like me!
We love going every summer with our kids. It's nice that it's right on the beach. Plus there's great food down at the beach and lots of other stuff going on all the time.
It’s a little rinky dinky if I’m being honest, but I have so many memories coming here when I was a kid. The Galaxy coaster (now renamed) was always my favorite ride, although I loved the Oriental Express as well- never a line for that one! It’s a great place to go if you’re looking for some beachside thrills.
Fun little amusement park type of place - more for kids than adults
The rides, games and food are great!!
Hadn't been to an amusement park in awhile, walked in with some doubts if this would impress, but those doubts cleared. The adrenaline was the first ride we got on and it was exhilarating! Seaviper is a good introduction coaster for those who haven't been on one in years. Will be going back!
We came for our 2nd anniversary. It was closed. Still a great spot for a adventure. We ate at the Pier and ordered some drinks.
Kids had so much fun here. Very relaxed environment. The tickets were tough to figure out (how many to buy, etc). Nice arcade... went here as a kid and its kept up with the times.
Still the jewel of OOB
This place is great. My favorite ride here is Sea Viper. You guys should build a new boardwalk and add more rides.
Went here last year May ( if I'm not mistaken) this is a cute spot, it can get crowded. Cute place to take your kids.
Had so much fun with Olivia ❤️
They could do much better for fun for kids and familys and have better or more staff in arcade to make sure tickets dont run out on games and have to wait long til someone puts more in and all the machines that u put the tickets in are always broken, and also theres never enough people at the counter to help kids get there prizes u wait forever
Love the arcade and shops around but the rides are quite pricey. Personally I would rather spend the money for rides on Funtown Splashtown. The arcade is what we always go for!!
Awesome rided way better than Funtown and cheaper plus right in the beach!
Had a lot of fun here even, though I didn’t win anything
Great for kids
So much to do!! Fun for all ages. Rides, games, restaurants and shops. Fireworks every Thursday night.
My kids love it there!!!! Wish the restrooms were better maintained
Fun times!!!!! Clean friendly and fun for all ages
Was a great place and alot of fun.
What a great place
Great family place , lots to do all around
Always something to do! Something for everyone.
I love the beach arcades
So much fun for the family and children.
Nice place. Pretty clean and they have staff there to make sure the games and machines are actually working instead of just stealing your money. The only complaint is how much the games cost, especially when comparing the age of the games.
Fun rides, comparable prices
It’s so much fun! Great memories and an amazing time with my friends. However, the prices are high and you get only a little bit of fun for quite a lot of money. It’s cheaper if you buy the tickets in bulk. Don’t forget to enjoy your time!
What a fun time ! Old Orchard Beach is a great place to visit.
Great fun for the kids. Best fries= Pier Fries Best pizza= Bill's Greek Slice Best Watering hole= The Brunswick
It is expensive but a good time...I remember looking forward to going there as a child and how much fun I had.
It's a slice of Americana with a dash of French Canadian!
This place is really fun! Great for families. Super clean. But very busy. No parking nearby. You will have to find a parking lot to pay by the day. Normally parking is $10 or $20 for the day. It's a nice walk depending on where you park.
Simple but lots of fun
Great, fun park for kids. Pretty clean. Lots of restaurants and shops all around. My only qualm is the price - nothing is cheap. Many games are five dollars a go, tickets or an all-day pass are comparable to that of larger amusement parks, and even most of the bathrooms have charges (just $.50, though). That being said, the ability to come and go make a full day at the beach easy and enjoyable. When I visit Maine, I spend the extra money because my kids really enjoy themselves. The area makes it a must.
Fun place but pricey
Best place for kids and adults. Lots to do and fun to be had by all.
It's a tired worn out beachside amusement park
Our kids love going. My daughters age 11 and 13, and their friends have fun on the rides. It is expensive but the wrist band is the best value. There are also standard games to play as at any fair although we have not spent much time with that. Also an arcade for those who like arcade games
Love this place. Highly recommended to visitors and locals to enjoy summertime.
Coming here is a yearly ritual with all me nieces & nephew & they love it. They know where everything is & can go off on there own & have the time of their lives.
Great Time one of my last with my know late partner❤️
Fun place to go
Friendly attendants and super fun new rides!
The pier is full of smokers and smells like old beer!
I visit here every year love this little place
Fun but the staff could be friendlier for the prices.
A great way to spend the day.
Very nice place to visite. Unfertunatly I was very sad to see how much abuse there was from the motel around. The city was overbook and the motel that had 1 r 2 rodomontades left there where asking 389$ for the nigth and you where obligated to take two night. The room normaly cost 150$ personne nigth. It is stubid to act like this and show no respect for your travelers.
Always very clean family fun
Amazing place to go especially with your kids
Worked here for Sam Osher when I was 16/17/18 years old, I'm 58 now, it was honkey tonk back then and fun. Its much more cleaned up and fun now from what I see.
Fun place to visit and play!
Grew up in one of very Best places on earth, Check it out !
Good arcade and games. Great views from the ferris wheel. Small but fun!
Fun place to take the kiddos
Fun fun fun for the whole family! Best arcade and the food stands are amazing! No wonder they've been serving fresh food for decades! Very reasonable prices and different choices.
Fun for the kids.. Can get crowded in the evening
Rides were fun but ate at this awful place where the man waiting on us was rude and yelling at his staff, he ripped my sister off by charging her for a soda and not giving it to her and wanting to charge her again plus the food was terrible.
Daughter had fun on the rides. Ate some decent food there.
Family Fun place. Good food.resonanible price
Never changes. Rides. Arcade. Fried food. Soft serve ice cream. Pier and shopping. All the flavors of childhood and beach-side tourism, which I happen to love.
Games are a big ripoff. But what arcade games aren't. Skeeball is fun and so is DDR. Wish the two dance games were not right next to each other tho, you can barley hear the right music.. .
The rides are super fun for everyone, but one flaw is that some rides have low safety precautions, so make the little ones hold on tight :)
